Printed Skirts and Metallic Tops With Falabella Bag

Just like in Monday's post, I'm wearing printed skirts for spring again! This time I've worn them with metallic tops, and again I've accessorised with my Stella McCartney Falabella bag. I recently thrifted it, and it's not only an amazing opshop find it's also a really practical bag that goes with everything!

What I wore:

Necklace: Uniquely Made with Love Sea Change necklace
Tee: thrifted Marcs navy lurex detail foil tee
Skirt: Jeanswest Farrah blue tie dye maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

I often wear black and navy together so I didn't have any concerns about this Falabella bag with the monochromatic navy outfit. I really liked the silver chain detail on the bag with the silver lurex threads in this tee. It looks so sparkly in person, it's what drew me to it at the opshop, but sadly it doesn't seem to translate that well in the photos. It's a fun way to add a little sparkle to my day though!

Paired the new tee with a maxi skirt and my comfortable Converse for the school run, working from home, and a playdate in the park in the afternoon.

Last worn: blue beaded necklace, tie dye maxi skirt, blue Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag. First time I've worn the navy tee as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to weartie dye maxi skirt and jumper, blue Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Necklace: adjustable coral flat bead necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This is another metallic top that doesn't photograph as sparkly as it is in real life - but it does photograph a lovely silver colour! Decided to wear this tank as it's a great neutral to pair with this recently thrifted leopard print midi skirt. Added a little coral necklace for some extra colour as the neutrals looked a bit plain, and I liked the pop the colour added!

Again I wore my Falabella bag, it really does go with everything! Had to do the school run as well as working from home.

Printed Skirts With Converse, Falabella And Black Tees For The Office | Weekday Wear Link Up

Sharing another set of two very similar outfits for the office for today's Weekday Wear Link Up. Both feature black tees, printed skirts, Converse, and my newly thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
Tee: thrifted Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in black
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

So many new purchases in one outfit! While I focus on pieces that work with other items in my wardrobe when I'm shopping, it's always a thril when I thrift pieces that work together to create a full outfit all on their own! This leopard printmidi skirt was a must as soon as I saw it on the rack - I love the tassels and it's such a great length for me, almost a maxi. As it was a quiet day at my desk it was easily dressed down with the black tee and my Converse sneakers. The Stella McCartney Falabella worked so well in this outfit too, it's a great bag for work!

The necklace is not new but instead a reincarnation of an older one I had. When I thrifted it, it was a beautiful string of faux pearl beads all knotted together on faux suede and the thread just kept splitting and breaking until eventually I couldn't repair it any more. My friend designs and makes jewellery so she helped me get some supplies (just a simple cord this time) to recreate it with the beads I had, and I just copied it as closely as I could to the original necklace. I think I did well even if it's taken me months to getting around to remaking this!

Last worn: black teebeaded necklaceConverse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag. First time I've worn the leopard print skirt as is is a recent thrift find.

Other ways to wear: black tee and shortsConverse and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag with green.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester..

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted wooden yellow tassel necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee
Skirt: Garfunkle Australia pleated print skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This outfit was disappointing. I copied the outfit formula for the one above almost exactly, with a different black thrifted tee, the Converse and the Stella McCartney Falabella bag again. I even added another statement necklace, this cheerful yellow tassel one. This yellow and white and black printed pleated skirt used to be an office staple for me, but I just really wasn't enjoying it on this day. It was a bit breezy and the a-line shape kept getting caught in the breeze in the worst ways and had me worrying about and holding the hem quite a bit. It's a shame as I really loved this skirt in the past, but it is in the donate bag now. Even though I haven't hit 30 wears with it I'm just really not enjoying wearing it any more, and it's better to go to a new home with someone who will love it.

Black And Pink Outfits With Converse, Printed Jeans and Rebecca Minkoff Cupid Bag

Continuing to layer up my jeans for winter in Brisbane, with these printed skinny jeans and Converse outfits. While they both look different, both are made up of black and pink (with a little blue and navy in the first outfit too).

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest navy suede moto zip jacket
Necklace: thrifted pearl and heart charm long necklace
Tank: Kmart linen blend textured black tank (new purchase)
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bag: thrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Nice and colourful for a Monday morning school run and working from home! I often wear these pink leopard print skinny jeans with black, so it made sense to pair my new textured linen top with them. Being black you can't really see the texture in the photos sadly, but it is a great staple tank and it's sure to get a lot of wear as it layers up so well for our cooler weather. I added the suede jacket on top too, to keep me cosy. First time I've gotten it out this year, after getting it for Christmas. Being suede I was a little hesitant to take it out for the first time, but so far so good, worn it a few times and no damage to it, it's not as delicate as I thought!

Added a little extra colour to this outfit with the blue Converse, and the big Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag because I've hardly stopped using it since I thrifted it. Being a really dark deep navy I felt it worked well with the black tank and the navy suede jacket.

Last worn: heart charm necklace, pink leopard print jeans, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid. First time I've worn the suede jacket on the blog as it was a Christmas present, and first time I've worn the linen tank as it was a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearpink leopard print jeans and blazer, blue Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid and stripes.

What I wore:

Earrings: thrifted red dinosaur skeleton earrings
Jacket: thrifted Dotti black cocoon cape cardigan
NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Cami: thrifted Kmart dusty rose cami
JeansSass & Bide Playman skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

These chevron print Sass and Bide jeans are another pair I have worn a lot of black with, so the cosy black cocoon cardigan was a good choice to make this spaghetti strap cami a little more weather appropriate for a winter kids birthday party. I've tried a few different prints with these jeans over the time I've owned them but I really think plain block colours, like in this outfit, work so much better with them. I was really comfortable in this outfit.

I did add the red dinosaur skeleton earrings for a little pop of colour but they are a bit hard to see! Again I went with Converse, as we had a bit of driving to get to the party, it was at an indoor play area we hadn't been too before. Such a fun party though! The Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag was stuffed to the brim with my usual minimal essentials, and then some bottles of water for us.

Last worn: cocoon cardigan, dinosaur earrings, feather necklace, pink cami, chevron print jeans, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag (above).

Other ways to wearcocoon cardigan and white denim, pink cami and skirt, chevron print jeans worn 30 ways, black Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag with jeans and jumper.

Pink Jeans and Peplum Tops

Felt like I hadn't worn these black peplum tops for a while, so go them out again to wear with some pink jeans and leopard print outfits. Accessorised both with cosy cardigans for winter and for comfort while working from home.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Jacket: thrifted Dotti black cocoon cape cardigan
Necklace: blush pink and gold beaded tassel necklace
Tank: Kmart black sleeveless frill hem peplum tank
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

Taking advantage of the winter school holidays, the kids had a fun day out with my mum while I got to enjoy the peace and quiet working from home. It worked out so well as I had a meeting filled day, and I didn't have to worry about noise in the background!

Did have to pop out in the morning between meetings for a quick errand, but otherwise wanted to be comfortable for sitting at my desk all day. I liked all the different shades of pink with this, with the leopard print jeans, studded MAB crossbody bag and the pastel tassel necklace. I wasn't too sure if the black peplum tank and black cardigan were too similar to wear together, being identical shades of black, but I think they balanced out all the pink nicely, especially when paired with the black Converse sneakers.

Last worn: cocoon cardigan, pastel tassel necklace, peplum tank, leopard print jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody.

Other ways to wearcocoon cardigan and denim skirt, peplum tank and pencil skirt, leopard print jeans and purple, Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody and floral dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Jacket: thrifted no label black and white leopard print cardigan
Necklace: thrifted flat peach statement bead necklace
Tee: thrifted black and white space dye peplum tee
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Why I wore it:

Another pink jeans and leopard print outfit for another working from home day. I had to take the kids along to a school holiday program in the morning and pick them up again in the afternoon, so again I went with the practical Converse sneakers for the little bit of driving. Unlike the first outfit, I stuck with one shade of pink with these magenta jeans which are a firm favourite of mine in the cooler weather. I wasn't sure if the leopard print cardigan was too much with the space dye print on the peplum tank, but decided to give it a go as I thought the patchy print was a good pairing. I'm not sure I would wear this again, but I'm glad I gave it a go for something different.

Colourful Jeans and Cosy Cardigans With Edie Shoulder Bag

Switching it up a little and setting aside my darker black and grey jeans. I wore some fun colourful pairs to add a little brightness to my cosy cardigan and jeans and tee outfits recently. Both outfits accessorised with my Rebecca Minkoff Edie shoulder bag in Luna blue, that works perfectly with both pink and red.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff Edie regular shoulder bag in Luna blue with magenta and leopard | awayfromblue

Jacket: thrifted no label black and white leopard print cardigan
Necklace: thrifted silver and turquoise multi strand necklace
Tee: Jeanswest black scoop neck tee
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie regular shoulder bag in Luna blue

Why I wore it:

This was a beautifully warm weekend! I definitely didn't need the cardigan much during the day, although it was appreciated in the evening. We headed out to pick up a family member from the airport who we hadn't seen in a while, the kids were so excited. I felt that the black tee, even with the magenta jeans, was a bit plain, so this leopard print knit was a nice way to add a little more print and interest to the basic jeans and tee outfit.

Couldn't decide on a necklace, and tried on a few, but I liked the pop of colour this thrifted silver and turquoise one added, and how the silver matched the hardware and chain strap on the Edie bag.

Last worn: leopard print cardigan, turquoise necklace, black tee, Sass and Bide jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Edie shoulder bag.

Other ways to wearleopard print cardigan and dress, black tee and maxi skirt, Sass and Bide jeans and blue knit, Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Edie shoulder bag and blazer.

30 Ways to Wear: Rebecca Minkoff Edie Bag

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Dotti black cocoon cape cardigan
Tee: thrifted navy stripe Coca-Cola logo tee
Jeans: thrifted Emerson red skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie regular shoulder bag in Luna blue

Why I wore it:

After a late night the previous night, I stuck to the same outfit formula the next day, with these red jeans to add a pop of colour to my outfit. A little bit of matchy-matchy with the red Coca-Cola logo on the tee too! Again, I carried the same bag I had the day before, even though I didn't need to carry much for the school run and working from home.

As it was such a chilly morning I layered up with this cosy cocoon cardigan. Like the leopard print cardigan in the first outfit, it was also an opshop find and is getting worn quite a lot this winter. Definitely getting good value from the $1 I spent on it!

Pink, Prints and Tank Outfits

Sharing two skirt outfits I wore recently with a few of my new purchases in March. Both have a pop of pink and some prints, but very different formulas and colours.

What I wore:

turquoise tropical print cover up with hot pink singlet and white denim skirt outfit | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up (new purchase)
Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
 (new purchase)
TankAsos satin singlet in pink
Skirt: Target classic denim skirt in white
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather (get it in pink)

Why I wore it:

I found this cover up on the scarf rack at the opshop! I loved the colours and tassels. It was as I pulled it off the scarf hook I realised it was actually a cover up - and so was definitely coming home with me! Such a fun and colourful piece, and just $1! I was thinking about a nice neutral top to pair with it when I saw this hot pink satin tank in my wardrobe and realised it would look great with the turquoise. There is a bit of purple and red in the print, but no pink. I still think the hot pink and turquoise really popped together!

The neutral white denim skirt, another of my March buys, was a perfect pairing with all of that colour. And I couldn't resist going a little matchy-matchy with my accessories - the aqua mini MAC bag matching the turquoise in the print, and the tassel necklace matching the tassels on the hem.

Nice and colourful for a regular day with the school run, working from home, and a couple of errands.

Last worn: pink satin tank, white denim skirt, Havaianas, aquamarine mini MAC bag. First time I've worn the cover up and the tassel necklace as they are recent opshop finds.

Other ways to wearpink satin tank and jeans, white denim skirt and green duster, aquamarine mini MAC bag with orange skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyaquamarine mini MAC bag in third trimester.

My Rebecca Minkoff Collection:

Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Skirt: Target animal print ruffle hem mini skirt
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

This was another very rare kid-free day off! I have had a few more lately as I worked a few weekends and earned that time off during the week. After taking the kids to school I had time for a little opshop browse (where I got the pieces in the outfit above) and I spent some time with my mum before we picked up the kids from school in the afternoon.

I wanted to wear this cute leopard print skirt I got from Target again. I really like pink and leopard together, I wore this skirt with pink last time I wore it too. The magenta Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag was a deeper pink with it, and I really liked it. The silver tank felt a little plain though, so I added this black statement necklace which matched the black in the leopard print and I think it really completed the outfit.

Last worn: silver tank, statement wooden necklace, leopard print ruffle hem skirt, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff MAC.

Other ways to wearsilver tank and printed jeans, leopard print ruffle hem skirt and pastel pink, studded sandals and floral dress, Rebecca Minkoff MAC and double denim.

Orange and White Skirt and Tee Outfits With Olive Crossbody Bag

Sharing two very different tee and skirt outfits I wore recently, although both feature orange and white with my little olive mini Darren bag.

What I wore:

white tee with rust linen a line button up skirt kmart with olive crossbody bag | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren crossbody with rust linen skirt | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: thrifted wooden geometric bead necklace (new purchase)
TeeCotton On The One Deep V tee in marle nep white body black
Skirt: thrifted Kmart rust button up linen blend skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren

Why I wore it:

I always like wearing thrifted pieces together! I picked up this rust linen skirt back in December, and I thrifted this chunky wooden bead statement necklace from the same opshop in March. While the white tee and rust button up skirt looked lovely together, I felt a necklace was really missing from this outfit, and the chunky navy and teal wooden beads were perfect against the white tee.

I really did not have to carry much, with nothing on the agenda other than a swimming lesson for my son as we'd had to move his regular lesson out to a different day. The little olive Darren bag was perfect for carrying the barest of essentials that I needed for the day.

I liked wearing the rust skirt to bring some autumn colour to my outfit, even if the weather here is still firmly set to summer!

Last worn: white speckle tee, rust linen skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren bag. First time I've worn the necklace as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearwhite speckle tee and blazer, rust linen skirt and stripes, Rebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren bag with mustard.

SkirtTarget classic denim skirt in white  (new purchase)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren

Why I wore it:

Since I enjoyed the white, orange and olive combination in the first outfit, I repeated it again a couple days later for a very rare day off! I had a bunch of leave from work to use up, so took the kids to school, had an unproductive stop at the opshop where I came home empty handed, and a glorious massage before getting a few things done at home then picking the kids up from school. It was a nice relaxing day.

As I only had myself to worry about, again the little Rebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren bag was all I needed for the bare essentials. And I really do love the way the olive  works with this bright neon orange leopard print tee as well as it did with the rust skirt in the first outfit!

It was also a good excuse to wear this white denim skirt I picked up at Target in March. I figured that a day mostly to myself would mean it would stay clean, but of course I managed to cover it in chocolate, ha! Thankfully it washed out easy.

Last worn: orange Sass and Bide tee, Tiffany heart pendant necklace, Tiffany 5th Avenue heart necklace, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren (above). First time I've worn the denim skirt as it was a recent purchase.

Printed Tops and Black Skinny Jeans With Yellow Bag

Pairing some classic black skinny jeans with my cheerful yellow mini 5-zip bag and some colourful printed tops for some cooler spring days recently in Brisbane.

What I wore:

See by Chloe silk mixed print tassel top with black nobody denim skinny jeans yellow crossbody bag | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip bag with black skinny jeans | awayfromtheblue

Top: See by Chloe silk mixed print tassel top from Sheila's wardrobe
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

When Sheila sent me the beautiful bag she decorated she included a few pieces from her wardrobe she didn't want any more. I've already put a jacket to good use, and I decided to give this top a wear. It was a quiet day, helping in my son's classroom in the morning, the school run, working from home, and the library in the afternoon.

This is a silk top though and I found myself a bit worried a few times the day with messy kids (including my own) and the delicate silk, ha! I did so love wearing this though. The blue print I originally thought was leopard print is actually an abstract floral print, and it's so pretty with the print mixing stripes on the sleeves. I really liked the simplicity of the black jeans with this - I was definitely inspired from a previous way Sheila has worn this. One day I'll be brave enough to give print mixing a go!

Last worn: black Nobody Denim jeans, studded sandals, yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag. First time I've worn the top as it was a recent gift from Sheila.

Other ways to wearblack Nobody Denim jeans and textured jacket, studded sandals and maxi dress, yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag with olive.

Perfect for pregnancystudded sandals in second trimester.

Why I wore it:

Trying yellow and orange again! I really like the combination, and just like the outfit above, the yellow bag pops against the black skinny jeans. I think the addition of this yellow bag helped stop the outfit looking too Halloween-ish with the orange leopard print and black jeans.

This was a really nice colourful jeans and tee outfit for a day of working from home and doing the school run. Every time I wear this tee I love it, I really should wear it more often!

How You Can Wear It:
