What I wore:
Tee: Sass and Bide 'New Day Rising' tee in orange leopard print
Skirt: thrifted navy viscose drawstring no label maxi skirt
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Why I wore it:
This Sass and Bide neon leopard print tee is a favourite, it's one I don't frequently wear but every time I do I love it! It's a cropped style, which means it's just a normal length on my petite self, and so I didn't tuck it into the skirt at all, just left it loose. It was a hot day although it's autumn in Brisbane and this was a cool and comfortable outfit to wear. I really liked the orange leopard print with the navy maxi skirt too, navy and orange look so good together. Two bloggers I follow, Sheila and Ivana, recently wore similar outfits too! Definitely a great silhouette.
The only thing that didn't go so well with this outfit was that it got covered in chalk when the boys did some chalk art in the afternoon. Getting dressed for isolation at home with a 4 and 5 year old is tough as my clothes never stay clean long, ha!
Last worn: neon leopard print tee, leaf necklace, thrifted navy maxi skirt, Havaianas.
Other ways to wear: neon leopard print tee and jeans, thrifted navy maxi skirt with stripes.
Wardrobe Tour (And Handbag Storage!)
What I wore:
Tee: Kmart grey leopard print tee
Skirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Why I wore it:
This is such an affordable outfit! The ochre maxi skirt was an opshop bargain at just $4, I picked the leopard print tee up for just $2 at Kmart and the necklace is Kmart too! Not wearing my bags every day has highlighted to me how affordable my wardrobe really is - if you don't include the designer bags! 😂I liked the leopard print tee and the skirt together, but the outfit felt like it was missing a little something. This necklace was the perfect topper, and just like the outfit above while it was quick to pull together it helped me feel a little more dressed up. I don't always wear proper clothes when I'm working from home, there's a lot of loungewear or pyjama days in isolation, as I mentioned above it's hard to justify a nice outfit when the kids will mess it up before the end of the day. But it's a good change to wear proper clothes when the in laws come to visit or when I know I have a few meetings!
Last worn: grey leopard print tee, blue and gold beaded necklace, ochre maxi skirt, Havaianas (above).
Other ways to wear: grey leopard print tee worn two ways, ochre maxi skirt with stripes.

I never wear my pj's all day but I have days I work in very comfortable clothing. Not too often but maybe once a week. But I always work from home and virtually so this is nothing new. Getting dressed and feeling put together does wonders for ME!

It's nice you work from home so much! I only used to do it once a week before everything changed.

I am in love with the color of the second skirt, it looks so good on you!
ReplyDeleteAshlee | https://www.maybeafterbrunch.com
You are so good a wearing your maxis. I really like the first shirt--I think it's so fun when you can find a non-traditional leopard print. (Of course, I like traditional, too!)
ReplyDeleteYes the orange is pretty unique, it's so fun! :)
DeleteLove the orange top. Orange is a very underrated color - boosts the mood!
ReplyDeleteI think leopard print is so pretty, and I like it even more when it's in not in the typical colors - like these!

Maxi skirts are so comfy! Love the color of your skirt in the second look! Your new wardrobe room is fabulous and fun to see!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
I love both of these looks so much! I can't get enough leopard print these days, and you're making me realize I need a leopard tee! I love the orange with the navy, as well as the orange skirt with the neutral tee.
ReplyDeletethey are definitely fun tees to have in my wardrobe!
DeleteBoth of those skirts are sooo cute. I love wearing maxi skirts!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much for the shout-out, Mica! I love that neon orange leopard - you are singing my song here! It looks stellar with the blue skirt - a great combo! I like the ochre skirt in the second outfit, but I wonder about the grey with it...it feels a little muddy with these two neutrals - I feel like a bolder, brighter colour with the ochre or else a neutral that's not grey (black, white, cream). That's just my opinion, though - I'm wearing grey and copper today, so what do I know?? ;-P
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, my dear, and kudos for dressing up in "real" clothes! You're a star! Thank you so much for the link-up party!
Thanks Sheila! I definitely do need to try those other colours with this skirt! I think it will go with so much even if I didn't love this outfit as much as the first one - i think you nailed it with the colour combo.
DeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI like that silhouette, maxi skirt + tee, who has children always runs the risk of having dirty clothes ahahah !!

DeleteI guess it's not straightforward dressing up when when having a 4 and 5 year old to keep occupied all day :-) Those leopard print tees do certainly jazz up your maxi skirts, making for effortless yet stylish outfits! I especially love the first one, the navy and orange being a brilliant match! xxx
ReplyDeleteYes kids definitely make things more interesting! it's fun though :)
DeleteI like both outfits :)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so cute and polished yet still comfortable and functional, something I definitely have a hard time doing. I love the navy blue and orange combo!

DeleteLove all the animal print!
ReplyDeleteLeopard print tees are always fun. I like both of these combos. The first orange leopard tee looks great with the maxi you paired it. I also like the second styling. I bought a similar grey leopard top in February (just with longer sleeves), I wear it a lot.
ReplyDeleteThese are both great working from home outfits, they look comfortable and breezy enough but still like you're making an effort to work. Love the colour of the skirt in look 1! x

You always have the best maxi skirts! :) I love both of these outfits, and it's great how affordable they are. I hear you, it's difficult to wear normal clothes during isolation. Lots of loungewear days here too. It is always nice to wear proper clothes. How are things going by you right now? Are things improving? Our stay at home order was extended until the end of May by us. Hope you all are keeping well and safe!
