What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart black and gold double strand beaded necklace
Blouse: Jeanswest Frankie soft blouse in berry
Jeans: Nobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne Ava white leopard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)
Why I wore it:
This is the outfit I actually got to wear in the office! I was pleased I'd picked this berry toned top with the long sleeves as it was super cold in this office! It was my first time working in that building. Because some team members have moved around a little I was going to be meeting some colleagues face to face for the first time, and others after only seeing them on screens for a while! So I thought it was a nice dressy outfit for this, but still not too formal with the jeans. Jeans were a 5 day a week thing pre-pandemic in my office but it's even more casual now! Was pleased I wasn't the only one wearing jeans but did realise my mistake when everyone started pulling on all of their winter coats and cardigans after lunch when the office aircon got even colder 😂 Next time I'm in that office I'll definitely pack a cardigan instead of this cute but not quite as cosy textured tweed cropped sleeve jacket!Although the berry pink top is a very different shade from the blush pink Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag I think they worked nicely together, and I really liked this outfit. It was nice to wear something different from Converse with these cute printed ballet flats too! Converse has been a bit of a default lately.

Other ways to wear: tweed jacket and pencil skirt, berry blouse and leather jacket, Nobody Denim jeans and orange tee, printed ballet flats and grey dress, Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag and shorts.

3 Ways To Wear: Rebecca Minkoff Darren Messenger Bag
What I wore:
Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl lush forest scarf
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in azalea pink
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)
Why I wore it:
I'd been planning to go into the office with just a few team members so jeans and a tee was not too overdressed for that, and I relied on the textured jacket to make it seem a little more formal for an office setting. Decided to still wear it even though I ended up not going into the office as one of the kids was too sick for school. Jeans and a tee is a great working from home outfit and I was very comfortable in this all day, for working from home and the school run.It was a much colder morning than I expected though so I added the scarf at the last moment. I couldn't decide between a few, but I haven't worn this floral scarf yet this year so it seemed like a good choice, even if the print is very busy against he textured boucle jacket. I like the blues and purple in the scarf against the pink tee, and again although the blush pink Rebecca Minkoff Daren bag is a different shade from the brighter pink of the tee I thought they looked nice together. These faded black jeans I scored at the opshop last year are definitely proving their worth in my wardrobe too! This is their 8th wear and they were only $1!
Last worn: jacquard jacket, forest print scarf, pink tee, faded black jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff small Darren bag (above).
Other ways to wear: jacquard jacket and little black dress, forest print scarf and cobalt knit, pink tee and shorts, faded black jeans and blazer, white Converse and chambray dress, Rebecca Minkoff small Darren bag and sundress.
Perfect for pregnancy: jacquard jacket in third trimester, white Converse Chucks in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A textured jacket - tweed or boucle - is a good way to make a casual jeans outfit feel a little more dressed up for the day!

Your first jacket reminds me of a tweed moto I have in my closet. I love it! Hardly get to wear it because our weather is so mild but I won't get rid of it because it's a favorite.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a super week!
xo,
Kellyann
I really need to wear this one more often, it's been a while! It used to be an office only one so it was good to get it out again!
DeleteI really like the length of that first jacket! I love berry but I don't really have much in that color. Pink is sometimes hard for me. I like blush and fuschia but other shades don't always work.
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
I find blush doesn't work for clothing for me but it's awesome in accessories like that bag!
DeleteYou look so cute and cozy, Mica! I love the pattern and texture mixing and these shades of pink on you as well!

Such pretty bag! Looks so classy and modern, love it!

Thanks - it's so hard, so many coughs and colds around!
DeleteThese two jackets are real outfit makers, I love them both! You have turned closet staples into special outfits. Have a good week and thanks for the link up party!
ReplyDeleteLove the color of your blouse. The jackets look great.. sorry to hear they are not as cozy though.
ReplyDeleteFabulous outfits, both of them, Mica! Look at you, in real shoes! :D
ReplyDeleteI like the pale blush pink bag with both outfits - it's subtle but harmonizing. Oh, AC in offices! Right?? It's always cold! In the "before times" many of my colleagues kept ponchos, throws or wraps at their desks for when the AC came on.
Thanks so much for the link-party! Have an awesome week!
That's the perfect jacket for the office. Sorry to hear that there are winter viruses going around—I hope you stay well!

Yes I was looking forward to getting home and warming up, it was super cold! I will be more prepared next time I'm in that office!
DeleteCute jackets! I do love the darker colored one the best. One of the bags I regret not buying when I had the chance is the mini RM Darren. So cute!
ReplyDeleteMaureen | www.littlemisscasual.com
It's such a great bag I'm glad I scored this Darren on sale!

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your professional life is getting back to normal and you're meeting your colleagues face to face! I'm also happy to know that the professional environment doesn't require great formalism in terms of how you have to dress, so you can be comfortable in jeans! As for the looks, the first one is my favorite!

Both of these outfits are SO beautiful. I love what you wore to the office. It is so chic! And it's too bad that lots of viruses are going around...but at least you still dressed super stylishly! I hope your week is going well <3
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Super cute looks, Mica! I am loving the textured jackets- pieces like this really jazz up an outfit!

What is it about a great work outfit? It can change your whole perspective! I'm so glad you got to wear the chic berry one to the office, even though you were cold. And it was nice that you went ahead and wore the pink one to work from home. Although my at-home work dress-up consists of putting on a nice top and necklace while still wearing my pajama pants, it still always cheers me up. Also, I'm sorry to hear about the virus surge in your area. I hope your family's doing okay. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes on the days I don't have to do the school run (sometimes hubby does) I'm usually in loungewear to work from home! But if I'm going out even just to drop off and pick up the kids I'll put on a proper outfit :)
DeleteTwo beautiful looks that can be used on different occasions.
ReplyDeleteInteresting and beautiful blog, congratulations. I'm going to start rambling around here.
Love both your jackets Mica and the way you have added the scarves, it looks chic and elegant. :-)

ReplyDeleteVery pretty outfits!
ReplyDeleteYour polka dotted shoes are so cute! Really loving the second outfit!
