Black Tees, Jeans and Colourful cover Ups | Weekday Wear Link Up

We had some very stormy, wet weather at the end of spring in Brisbane, so it gave me an opportunity to wear my jeans again. I don't get to wear them much over summer as it's too hot for jeans, so it was nice to give them another wear while it was cooler. Keeping it simple, I wore both of these colourful sets of denim with black tees, my Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag, and some bright cover ups.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Necklace: thrifted wooden geometric bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in black
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus black and gold bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

The fun colours in this tropical palm print cover up go with so much. On this day I decided to wear it with some green to play up the green in the print. I liked the forest green jeans with this, even if it's a deeper green than the print. The geometric necklace went well with it too.

With all that green, a simple black tee, my Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and white Converse were good neutrals.

This was a colourful and comfortable jeans and tee outfit for the school run, working from home, and then a quick errand in the afternoon after picking the kids up from school.

Last worn: palm print cover up, geometric necklace, black tee, green jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag.

Other ways to wearpalm print cover up and band tee, black tee and shortsgreen jeans worn 30 ways, Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and blazer.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On maroon wanderlust floral border cover up
Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
TeeAtmos & Here black essential v-neck tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Harper skinny pant in Russet
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Just like the outfit above, again I went with a plain black tee and then added a printed topper in a similar shade to my jeans. I think this floral print cover up pairs perfectly with the burgundy jeans! While it had been raining overnight it brightened up during the day, so I just wore my Havaianas, not needing to worry about it raining. I had the school run, working from home, and then the dentist in the evening.

I picked this big statement necklace as it's a fun mix of metallic neutrals and it brightened up the darker outfit a little.

Last worn: floral cover up, metallic necklace, black v-neck tee, burgundy jeans, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag (above).

Other ways to wearfloral cover up and skirt, black v-neck tee over a dress, burgundy jeans and stripes, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and shorts.

Colourful Jeans, Peplum Tops and Floral Painted Bag

With a surprisingly warm few days back in September for the start of spring in Brisbane, I was able to skip the blazer for my office outfits. It does make these feel a little dressed down without that formal layer on top, but both these days were quiet days without too many people from my team in the office.

A peplum top and colourful jeans was an easy outfit choice for these days.

What I wore:

Necklace: adjustable coral flat bead necklace
Tee: thrifted black and white space dye peplum tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Harper skinny pant in Russet
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila

Why I wore it:

I love this peplum tee, it's super comfortable to wear! It's not the first time I've worn it with these burgundy jeans either, such an obvious choice with the neutral black and the burgundy working well together. The black ballet flats were a nice bit of matchy-matchy with the black top too.

Even with the cute floral bag to add a little more colour and interest to this outfit, I felt it was still lacking something so went with a bright statement necklace. The coral beads of this necklace are very different from the burgundy red shade of the jeans, but I liked the extra pop it gave the outfit. Even if looking at the photos now it doesn't all go together as nicely as I'd felt it did when rushing to work that morning!

Last worn: peplum tee, coral necklaceburgundy jeans, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff personalised mini MAB tote bag.

Other ways to wearpeplum tee and yellowburgundy jeans and stripes, black ballet flats and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff personalised mini MAB tote bag and printed dress.

Perfect for pregnancy black ballet flats in third trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
Top: Kmart black sleeveless frill hem peplum tank
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
ShoesWalnut Melbourne Ava white leopard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila

Why I wore it:

This is the exact same outfit formula as the outfit above, but I think it is a lot more colourful and fun - maybe it was the multi coloured tassel necklace, or the leopard print ballet flats, but I liked this outfit a bit more than the one above. The black peplum tank is one I've worn to the office a few times, but this is the first time I've worn it with the green jeans which is a surprise - over the 30+ times I've worn these jeans I've worn them with a lot of black!

With the simple black and green, I felt that these leopard print ballet flats were a good shoe choice, and they were definitely overdue a wear! A warm dry spring like we are having in Brisbane right now is a good time to wear them as I don't worry about them getting dirty from mud or wet from rain.

Last worn: black peplum tank, tassel necklace, green jeans, leopard print ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff personalised mini MAB (above).

Cardigans, Converse and Colourful Jeans With Striped Tees And Yellow Bags

Proper autumn weather in Brisbane meant getting out my knits and jeans! I have quite a collection of colourful jeans, and I like them as an alternative to the traditional blue denim. While both of these outfits are very different colours, I like the fun yellow bags with both.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Paper Scissors grey wrap cardigan
Necklace: Colette marble and gold pendant drop long necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton On orange and white stripe The One crew neck tee
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! While there was the usual routine of the school run and working from home for me, we had a few errands to run in the afternoon, and we had a big makeover of the stick insect enclosures at home that evening. That was the only time I regretted wearing this cute grey cardigan, as the ties on it kept getting tangled up in the branches and leaves! It was just the perfect light weight for the rest of the day, just got a bit messy at home that evening!

I think this is the first time I've tried the trio of orange and pink and yellow together. I really like yellow and pink together, the mustard bag looks so good with the magenta jeans. I thought the orange striped tee would be a fun touch with the magenta, but you really don't notice it too much. It made this colourful trio a lot more easy to wear, it didn't feel too bold!

Last worn: grey wrap cardigan, orange stripe tee, marble necklace, magenta Sass and Bide jeans, white Converse, mustard micro Regan bag.

Other ways to weargrey wrap cardigan and printed jeans, orange stripe tee and skirt, magenta Sass and Bide jeans and tie dye, white Converse and pencil skirt, mustard micro Regan bag worn 30 ways.

Ways to Wear Colourful Bags:

What I wore:

Tee: thrifted navy stripe Coca-Cola logo tee
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

I needed this cosy black cocoon cardigan in the morning, but later in the day it had warmed up enough that I didn't need it! I left it in the car when I took a little break from working from home to go see my son get an award at school in the afternoon. While the green jeans and the yellow bag are quite a bright combination, the navy striped tee was a good neutral.

Looking at the photos though, I probably should have tried tucking this tee in. These jeans are low waisted so I don't do that too often, and with the long cardigan I thought the tee untucked would work better, but if I wore this again I'd definitely tuck in the tee at the front.

Last worn: black cocoon cardigan, navy Coca-Cola tee, green skinny jeans, black Converse, yellow mini 5-zip bag.

Other ways to wearblack cocoon cardigan and denim skirt, navy Coca-Cola tee and maxi skirt, green skinny jeans worn 30 ways, black Converse and dress, yellow mini 5-zip bag and floral dress.

Green and White Outfits With Floral Dusters and Chloe Paraty Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

Two green and white outfits with floral dusters and tees, and my little periwinkle blue Chloe Paraty bag. Surprisingly, despite both of these outfits being worn in summer, I'm wearing jeans! We had an unexpected cold snap at the start of summer in Brisbane.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Melanie floral kimono
Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
TeeAtmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

Was surprised to have to be wearing jeans in summer, but the weather on this day definitely called for it! These green jeans hadn't been worn for a while so I got them out again. Wore them with the basic white v-neck tee as the navy tropical floral print duster added all the extra colour and print in my outfit. I went a little matchy-matchy with the gold necklace and the gold hardware on the Chloe Paraty bag too.

The blue Converse sneakers were a third shade of blue for this outfit, but despite them not matching the duster or the Paraty bag, I still liked them with this outfit. Good choice for a little running around on this day. After the school drop off and working from home we had a quick errand to run after I picked the kids up from school.

Last worn: floral duster, white tee, gold circle necklace, green skinny jeans, blue Converse, Chloe small Paraty bag.

Other ways to wearfloral duster and dress, white tee and printed jeans, green skinny jeans worn 30 ways, blue Converse and midi skirt, Chloe small Paraty bag and printed dress.

Shorts: thrifted Emerson white Bermuda shorts
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Polka Luka resin bangles in red and teal and orange
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

This was a very busy Monday! We had some Christmas presents the kids had to hand out to their classmates and teachers at school drop off, and I had a quick errand to run before working from home, picking up the kids from school, and another errand in the afternoon.

Luckily it was more like normal summer temperatures, so I was back in shorts and tee, and I added this green floral print duster for a little more colour. Again as we had a little bit of running around to do I went with comfortable Converse, black ones this time. I added these lovely resin bracelets to my regular bracelet stack too for a touch more colour and because I though the red was a nice nod to Christmas when worn with the green duster.

Last worn: green floral duster, double strand necklace, resin bangles, navy cropped tee, white Bermuda shorts, black Converse, Chloe small Paraty bag (above).

Other ways to weargreen floral duster with black and grey, navy cropped tee over a dress, white Bermuda shorts with red, black Converse and striped dress, Chloe small Paraty bag and denim skirt.

How You Can Wear It:

Blue and green should definitely be seen! Both of these outfits illustrate that different shades of blue and green look great together!

Colourful Jeans and Cardigans With Printed Tanks

While I wore these outfits just at the end of August, I was enjoying the warmer spring-like temps that were arriving just before the official start of spring. Celebrated this warmer weather with some bright colourful jeans outfits, and two cute printed tanks.

What I wore:

yellow and green outfit with Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki | awayfromblue

Jacket: thrifted SES Fashions mustard yellow cardigan
NecklaceRoie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
Tank: Sass and Bide "For Easy Reference" tank
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

I really liked this green and mustard combination! I've worn this yellow cardigan with olive a few times in the past, but this is only the second time I've tired it with the bright green jeans. It felt very colourful, I was glad I'd picked out this neutral grey printed Sass and Bide tank to sit in between the colours. Tried to keep it natural with the accessories too, with the white Converse and the small Chloe Ethel bag.

The Chloe Ethel bag usually looks really caramel toned in photos, but paired with these green jeans you can see the light khaki tint to it. Perfect accessory for this outfit - and this bag fits so much more than it looks like it would. Was perfect for the school run, and after working from home and school pick up, it fitted some snacks inside for entertaining the kids before an appointment in the evening.

JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus black and gold beaded bracelet stack
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

I had the school run, and working from home with an on-camera meeting, so I debated adding statement earrings to accessorise with. I'd recently got some new hardware from my company for working from home with though, and one of those pieces was a new headset with over the ear headphones which ruled out pretty earrings, it wouldn't have been comfortable.

I can't believe I haven't worn this neon printed tank with the magenta jeans before! They are both from Sass and Bide and both the perfect matching shade of magenta. I really need to wear them together more often. It was a really cold day, and I regretted the choice of cardigan in the morning and wished I'd picked a warmer one, but I did like the grey with the magenta pink and the soft neutrals on the tank.

I got a call near the middle of the day that my son had been injured at school and I had to go pick him up. He's all recovered now thankfully! By that point in the day it was much warmer and this cardigan was the perfect layer. I did feel the cold a little later in the afternoon though when we went back to school to pick up my other son at the end of the day. Maybe a full length sleeve would have been a better choice.

How You Can Wear It:

Colourful jeans are an easy way to switch things up a little bit with your outfits. They can be really versatile and it's nice to have something a little different from the usual classic blue denim.

Blue Knits With Different Shades Of Green and Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford Bag

Wore these cosy blue jumper outfits a couple weeks ago, when the end of autumn started to bring some unexpected winter temperatures and had me reaching for the winter knits. Blue and green work well together, as these outfits show.

What I wore:

blue knit with Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight | awayfromtheblue

NecklaceHouse of Harlow sunburst necklace in silver and grey
Knit: Jeanswest Beth ombre stripe knit pullover jumper in navy from my sister's wardrobe
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

It was a particularly cold - and as you can probably tell from the pic - slightly windy morning! We had a couple errands to run but started the day off at our favourite trail first. The trees protected us from the breeze nicely and I ended up rolling up the sleeves on my jumper - maybe a bit too hot for both jeans and a knit on a bushwalk. Definitely appreciated the long sleeves and long pants later in the day when it cooled off though!

Since I had the blue knit and green jeans I decided to stick with this neutral navy bag. The Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford looks good against the green and compliments the blues in the knit nicely. The silver hardware was a bit of matchy-matchy with the silver sunburst necklace too.

Last worn: sunburst necklace, green jeansAdidas Superstar, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag. First time I've worn the jumper as I just got it recently from my sister's wardrobe clear out.

Other ways to weargreen jeans worn 30 ways, Adidas Superstar and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and floral dress.

Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This was an interesting day! I'd swapped my days around at the office for that week to support a milestone for my project at work so I was working from home, and thankfully my sister was free to watch the little one. It was hectic, but I was able to get a couple breaks in the day by dropping my eldest off at school in the morning and then heading out later with my sister to get takeaway for lunch. Even if she did get to sit and enjoy it with my youngest while I ate mine through a meeting at my desk in the home office 😅 Thankfully my sister did the school pick up for me in the afternoon, and I logged off just in time to make dinner before sports in the evening.

While I really appreciated the scarf in the cooler morning dropping off my son at school, it and the knit together were much too hot by lunchtime, and I spent the afternoon without the scarf for a bit. Definitely needed it back on for sports at night though!

I thought I'd try multiple shades of green in this outfit with the olive shorts and different colours of green in the print of the scarf. Surprisingly really liked this outfit, much more than I thought I would! I think the blue bits in the scarf complimented the cobalt knit and navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag nicely.

Last worn: cobalt knit, green pattern scarf, olive shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford (above).

Other ways to wearcobalt knit with orange, green pattern scarf with monochrome grey outfit, olive shorts and kimono, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford and chambray dress.

Perfect for pregnancycobalt knit and hidden baby bump.

How You Can Wear It:

Any shade of blue works with any shade of green! You can see that in the first outfit with the brighter green jeans paired with the different shades of blue in the ombre stripe knit. Or in the second outfit, with the cobalt knit and olive shorts and different green shades in the print of the scarf.

30 Ways To Wear: Green Skinny Jeans

December seems like the perfect time for my thrifted green skinny jeans to star in a 30 ways to wear post! They could be considered a very festive shade of green. I haven't worn them with red but I have worn them with a lot of other colours so I'm putting this post together to give you some outfit ideas and inspiration if you have a similar pair of jeans - or pants!

30 Ways To Wear: Green Skinny Jeans

I thrifted these jeans a little over 2 years ago, back in August 2018. They were a $5 bargain opshop find, especially considering that they were new with tags and petite sizing. Being short I usually have to get jeans hemmed unless I buy cropped or petite styles - so happy these are perfect length on me! Also the only pair of Asos petite jeans I've tried before. I have noticed them starting to get quite baggy when I wear them which I'm not too impressed with, but having worn them 30 times and only spent $5 on them I really can't complain!

Cost Per Wear

30 wears at $5 works out at 17 cents a wear which is really impressive! And despite them getting a little baggy I'm still going to keep wearing these - I don't think I'd have the luck of finding jeans in my size and length, also new with tags and just $5 in an opshop again! I'm also surprised that these hit 30 wears so quickly - I was wearing them frequently this spring to hit that goal with them admittedly, but I've also found them really easy to rewear so often. I used to be a bit scared of green but I've been embracing it more and all the different ways I've worn these jeans is a good example of that!

Green Jeans Worn With Black

6 different black and green skinny jeans outfit ideas| away from blue

One of the simplest ways to wear green jeans - with black! The perfect neutral that goes with everything, you don't have to worry about colours clashing with this combo. And there are so many good options - black tees, jackets, cardigans, kimonos, tanks... Sticking with neutral pieces for the rest of your outfit lets the green jeans really shine. You can always add in a bit more colour with accessories too thought like I have with the green scarf and bag there.

Spring Outfit Ideas For Green Jeans

3 ways to wear green skinny jeans in spring | awayfromblue blog

I like wearing my green jeans in spring - they work well with kimonos which are a staple for me in warmer weather. Especially navy kimonos. Bright spring-like colourful printed tops go so well with the green jeans too! Such a fun pair to pull out for spring when we tend to embrace a bit more colour.

Winter Outfit Ideas With Green Jeans

awayfromblue winter outfit ideas with green skinny jeans

Of course I don't just restrict myself to one season with these green jeans! While they worked well with light layers above for spring they also work really nicely as a pop of colour with all the extra layers you need in winter! Knits, cardigans or scarves and a bright pair of jeans is a cosy and comfortable outfit with a little extra colour among all the winter greys! I like to do the same thing with my red jeans too.

Green Jeans and Printed Tops

easy green jeans outfit ideas with printed tops away from the blue

Another super simple combination I repeat often (although you can see I have a fondness for stripes!). Much like classic blue jeans, these green jeans go so nicely with a printed tee or tank - stripes, animal print, polka dots... jeans and a printed top is such a staple outfit formula and one you can continue to wear even with colourful jeans like these.

Green And Yellow Outfit Ideas With Green Jeans

6 different yellow and green jeans outfit ideas colourful combination mum style awayfromblue

This is a bolder and brighter combination - you can see how I kept it small in a few of these outfits. Adding a little yellow accessory or two, or layering up with neutral navy scarf and cardigan over a yellow tee to downplay the bright pairing a little. Or going all out, with the mustard cardigan and marigold tee for something really statement-making. Any shade of yellow works so well with this shade of green!

Green and Blue Outfit Ideas

5 ways to wear green and blue together with bright skinny jeans awayfromblue

I used to believe the "blue and green should never been seen" rule, but now I know it's a silly one! Blue and green should definitely be seen - and I've certainly worn a lot of different shades of blue with these jeans. Navy is a good fail-safe shade to try, but I can't resist a brighter pop with cobalt either! Wearing these jeans with blue is my favourite kind of outfit combination.
