Colourful Cardigans, Peplum Tops And Skinny Jeans With Rebecca Minkoff Love Too Bag

Cosy dressing for two wet winter days in Brisbane recently! Adding some colour to peplum top and jeans outfits, with cardigans and my teal Rebecca Minkoff Love too bag.

What I wore:

black peplum tee with olive skinny jeans and mustard yellow cardigan | away from the blue

mustard cardigan with Rebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather | away from blue

Jacket: thrifted SES Fashions mustard yellow cardigan
Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
Top: thrifted black and white space dye peplum tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

This was one of those days that didn't go according to plan at all! We had been planning to cheer my son on as he did sports, but the wet weather that morning meant it was cancelled. Thankfully though it meant I was able to accept any appointment the vet could give us for that day after an incident with Cooper the night before, and they were able to squeeze us in that afternoon. It was supposed to be a much more fun day than it turned out to be!

Rough day aside, I did like this outfit! I like this mustard cardigan with olive, I wear it with olive a lot and it was a nice layer with these olive jeans. I liked the colour combination with the teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and mustard cardigan too! Not the first time I've worn this teal bag with the olive jeans either. This outfit is really just combinations I've enjoyed before repeated again, which is why I think I loved this so much despite the downer of a day.

The peplum top was a nice comfortable option - I'd been remined about this top after a post of Sheila's so I wanted to get it out again!

Last worn: mustard cardigan, peplum tee, silver circle necklace, olive skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Unboxing My Rebecca Minkoff Love Too Bag

What I wore:

navy bird print peplum tank with grey skinny jeans purple cardigan and teal love too bag winter rainy day outfit | awayfromblue

Jacket: Jeanswest Peggie kimono cardigan in purple mulberry marle
Necklace: Colette crescent purple and gold necklace
Tank: Kmart navy bird print peplum frill hem tank
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

I do have a few peplum tops! For something different I decided to get this pretty bird print one out again. With the colours in the print I thought neutral grey skinny jeans were the best choice, and because of the navy and pink I went with the purple cardigan. Again, just like above, it's a repeat of a combination I've worn before as it's not the first time I've worn this navy and pink peplum tank with purple. Last time I wore it with purple jeans. I liked the cardigan with it, a good warm layer for another rainy day. We spent most of the day at home but did pop out to the library for a bit, so the small Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag was all I needed to wear as I had a big green bag for our book haul!

I'd really liked the magenta crescent necklace with this when thinking up the outfit the night before, but it doesn't look as good as I thought in the photos. Another necklace would have been better I think.

Last worn: purple cocoon cardigan, magenta crescent necklace, navy bird print peplum tank, grey skinny jeans, Adidas Superstar, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag (above).

Other ways to wearpurple cocoon cardigan and maxi skirt, navy bird print peplum tank and pencil skirt, grey skinny jeans worn 30 ways, Adidas Superstar and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag in the office.

Perfect for pregnancypurple cocoon cardigan in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

A peplum on a top can add a little bit of extra interest to a printed tee or tank, and it's a very mum-tum friendly outfit idea! If it's winter try adding jeans and a cardigan on top for warmth and extra colour.

  2. Hello Mica, hope you're doing good!

OOooh I know that feeling, unfortunately some days can go upside down and then you have to re-write the agenda. I think at least you added a nice punch of color to the situation. I really love grey pieces, I think many people understimate the power of grey garments, but they are really good to mix with other things, like the one in the yellow proposal :)

On the second look I like the luxury touch of the bag, really nice and perfect for a day full of errands!

  3. Too bad the weather threw a wrench in your plans, I'm sure your son was disappointed. Your bag is such a pretty color and I always find that with that color it is much more versatile than I would have thought!

  4. I love your colourful cardigan collection - I'm always a fan of a good cardigan and I particularly like your yellow one. And I'm having the opposite experience with the weather here in that we're still in the grips of a pretty bad heat wave so all my plans to get outdoors with Eleanor are having to be modified we can stay inside our air conditioned house.

  7. These outfits both show how handy it can be to have some pre-tested outfit combinations, Mica! You've switched up a couple of elements, but all of these work so harmoniously. Love that gorgeous bag.

Maybe it's time to start doing big earrings again, now that the boys are a little older? The necklace in the second outfit disappears into the top (I would not have realized you were wearing one if you hadn't mentioned it), and I think a pair of big earrings might have resolved that.

Good vibes to you for little Cooper. It's so stressful when a member of our furry fam isn't well. *hugs*

    1. Yes! I started getting back into earrings but with the mask rules currently in place when I wore these I thought about earrings then changed my mind. The statement earrings make masks tricky, haha! Once the mask rules are over for sure!

  13. I love the mustard cardi with the olive jeans as well...and that peplum top is lovely. It's a shame that you couldn't cheer for your son as bad weather meant that sports were cancelled but at least you managed to see the vet about Cooper.

The second outfit in the blue tones is very pretty as well. I know blue is a colour you love- and so do I. The pepum tops and skinny jeans is a great outfit combo.
