What I wore:
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: Atmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware
Why I wore it:
This was a strange kind of day! It was quite overcast but still bright enough to make me squint without my sunnies on! It was really windy too so I wasn't entirely sure that this kimono would be enough to keep me warm on top of my jeans and tee outfit. While it didn't warm up as much as I hoped, I thankfully didn't freeze on the playground - even with the breeze! I was glad of that, as I really wanted to wear this kimono and tee together - I thought the navy in the tee matched the navy in the floral print nicely! While there's no olive in the kimono, these jeans are a great neutral that go with a lot, and were super comfortable for a morning at the playground with the kids. We went to one that was a little further away, but a firm favourite, so the New Balance sneakers were essential to support my knee on the longer than usual drive.
Last worn: brown floral kimono, navy tee, terrazzo necklace, olive jeans, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.
Other ways to wear: brown floral kimono and denim skirt, navy tee over maxi dress, olive jeans for long haul flight, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag and maxi skirt.
What's In My Rebecca Minkoff Black Unlined Tote Bag:
What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart black and gold double strand beaded necklace
Tee: Zalora Basics maroon stepped t-shirt
Shorts: Jeanswest Parker printed shirred short
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware
Why I wore it:
I'm still not sure this outfit entirely worked! I liked the burgundy tee with the black printed shorts, and since I was loving denim skirts over summer, these cute printed shorts have been a bit neglected and were definitely overdue a wear. It was a lot cooler than I expected that morning though. I decided to add this long duster to layer up a little as we had another morning at the playground, with a couple of errands and a library trip on the way. Thankfully it warmed up a lot and was nice and sunny when we got to the playground.I thought the small white print on these shorts was subtle enough that it didn't clash badly with the floral print on the duster, but looking at the photos the print seems a lot bolder than it did in the mirror that morning! I'm still pleased I tried something a little different with this duster and a bit of print mixing, even if I wouldn't repeat this again.

How You Can Wear It:
Your floral kimonos can still work in autumn! They layer nicely with dark colours like burgundy and black and navy and olive, as I've worn in these two outfits.
such a cute outfit!

I think the print mixing on the second outfit worked out really well, Mica! Bold enough to stand out but not clash, you know? And I love that kimono in the first outfit. I'm thinking of buying a new one for the summer. You can never have enough kimonos, I say:)
ReplyDeletePS Love the NB sneakers too:)
Thank you! It was good to try something different, even if I wouldn't wear it again!
DeleteVery cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving that kimono in your first outfit! It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteNice automnal outfits suit perfectly to you
ReplyDeleteLos dos outfits son muy lindos y le dan mucho estilo los kimonos, ademas me gusto del primer outfit como combina el verde militar con el azul, saludos:D
ReplyDeleteI think both outfits worked out well. :)
ReplyDeleteEl primer look es muy elegante. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteAlways love your style! And you always look effortlessly chic!
ReplyDeleteI think I need a couple of kimonos in my wardrobe :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is your first outfit, that kimono is really incredible. And your bag does look super practical as well. xxx
They are definite staples for the warm weather we have here!
DeleteThe kimonos are really beautiful and I love the colours in this outfit.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the second outfit better, Mica! The pattern-mixing is "next level" and really works well. The olive pants throw me off in the first outfit - the top/kimono are so good together, but then this extra colour that doesn't go with anything else? I think an orange, blue or aqua bottom would be more harmonious - but that's just me!
ReplyDeleteOur forecast has FINALLY starting showing some sunshine. Wish me luck on our Mom-Day Adventure today!
I hope you enjoyed the sunshine! And yes, maybe a different colour of pants would have worked better - but I'm glad I gave some new things a try :)
DeleteI love those moss green pants. Such a great colour and it looks SO amazing with that kimono. Just a perfect outfit from head to toe!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Loving the color combo in the first outfit.

ReplyDeleteit has been such a weird autumn, haha!
DeleteLove your outfit choice, and the colours of the kimono are just beautiful. I need to wear kimonos more, they are just a great addition to an outfit, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Hope your week is going well!

I think they are the perfect toppers!
DeleteI love the colors in that first look, they all look so pretty together! I think it's good to take risks and experiment with clothes, even if it means you don't always love how it turns out--you never know when you'll end up loving a new combination though!
ReplyDeleteSo true! it's only clothes in the end - no harm in trying something different, as you don't have to wear it again if you don't love it!
DeleteThanks all for your comments :)
