Jeans: Nobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Chloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut
Why I wore it:
This was a busy, but fun day! Had the usual school run, helping in my son's classroom, some time working from home before school pickup in the afternoon, and then shopping with my sister after I picked the kids up. We both only needed to grab a couple of things, but since she was near the bayside area she called and we decided to do our shopping together, and then have dinner. Was a very productive day. With the deep purple tee and black Nobody Denim skinny jeans and black Converse, this was looking like a very dark outfit! I thought that the Chloe Marcie lightened it up a little, as did the gold necklace which was a nice bit of matchy-matchy with the hardware on the bag, even if it's slightly different shades of gold. I added the kimono to brighten the outfit up even more, although the purple tones in the tee and print are very different I thought they worked nicely together. Even if it was a little bit warm in the middle of the day, I was thankful for the kimono when things cooled off in the afternoon.
Last worn: purple printed kimono, slouchy tee, gold circle necklace, black Nobody Denim jeans, Converse, Chloe Marcie bag.
Other ways to wear: purple printed kimono and shorts, slouchy tee over a dress, black Nobody Denim jeans and blazer, Converse and navy dress, Chloe Marcie bag and printed skirt.
Perfect for pregnancy: slouchy tee in second trimester, Converse in second trimester.
Jacket: Jeanswest Melanie floral kimono
Necklace: Roie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
Tee: Jeanswest Emma woven trim tee in terracotta
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers

Why I wore it:
Another working from home day while the kids were at school, and a very chilly start to the morning! I did wonder if this kimono was going to be warm enough, but thankfully the day heated up a little. Another pair of black skinny jeans as well - these were just $1 and in my size at the opshop so I couldn't say no! Good denim is hard to find, especially when you're petite like me so I was thrilled with these!Added the bright red tee - very bold and colourful with the black - not just because it matched the red flowers in the floral print of the duster, but because it would help ensure my son saw me at school. He was getting given an award and I wanted to show up at the ceremony and surprise him. He definitely had no problems noticing me!
Ended up taking this bracelet stack off when making a lot of noise at my desk trying to type up meeting notes! But I did like how the faux pearls matched the freshwater pearls on my tassel necklace nicely, even if they weren't the most practical choice for a day at my desk with lots of note taking!
Last worn: tropical floral duster, red tee, pearl and tassel necklace, bracelet stack, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Chloe Marcie bag (above). First time I've worn these jeans as they were a summer thrift find.

How You Can Wear It:
Colourful printed kimonos are a great layer to add before the temperatures get too cold! They provide a lot of extra print and colour to a classic jeans and tee outfit.

Amazing looks
ReplyDeleteThe first is totally my style
Thanks for sharing
I hope you have a nice week
Kisses ♥
Kimonos are such wardrobe staples! They are so versatile and I love the both but especially the first one. I don’t see a lot of purple and this was eye catching for me. I hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday!

I bet your son had no issues noticing you wearing the bright red shirt. Such a nice surprise!
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits are lovely, it is a formula I learned on your blog and have in my rotation every since.
Yes he spotted me easily! I really love this outfit formula, I feel it's on frequent repeat! glad I could introduce you to it!

No worries - both comments came through thank you!
DeleteJeans and kimonos are just made for each other! Both outfits are super cute and I could see myself wearing either one. How fun that you and your sister had an opportunity to do something just the two of you, it sounded really nice. I also like your stacked bracelet set, but I could see how annoying it could become. Have a great week ahead.

It was really nice - although it wasn't just us, had the kids in tow as it was after school pick up! But they love their aunt :)
DeleteI love the gold necklace + blend of purples in the first outfit. The second outfit is a great mix of style and practicality - glad your son had no problem picking you out in your red top!
ReplyDeleteGreat looks incorporating subtle changes of color to transition easily across the seasons! Love that you went bright so your son could easily find you in a group for moral support! Thanks for sharing and have a good week!
ReplyDeleteYes colour is great for making a statement and being seen in a crowd!
DeleteIt is of course already autumn in your world. Love the added kimono. And what a bargain for those jeans.
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits are great, your dusters are so beautiful. Congrats on your son on his award.
ReplyDeletethanks, we are so proud of him!
DeleteLooove the deep purple of that first top! And wow, you always find such great deals on jeans! $1 again!

My favourite "all clothes are $!" opshop has a lot to do with that, haha!
DeleteIn love with both outfits, they are perfect in spring season!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm absolutely in love with your bag!

Beautibul ways to wear that bag!
ReplyDeletehave a great week,

I love the idea of wearing something bright for your son to find you easily in the crowd. I also love the contrast with the kimono and pants.
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
Yes, it works really well!
DeleteTwo great casual looks, Mica! Adding a kimono really does the trick in jazzing up a jeans and tee outfit. My favourite is the second one, with its pop of terracotta and colourful floral kimono! xxx
ReplyDeleteLove both of these look. Glad you were able to spend some time with your sister.

I say this every time, but you have the best collection of kimonos! I especially like the print on the first one :)

I do love collecting kimonos, haha!
DeleteThese are such beautiful outfits! You always style kimonos so well.
ReplyDeleteSurprising your son when he got his award was such a sweet thing to do. I hope you had a good time :)

Yes I'm glad I could change things around at work to go and support him!
DeleteSometimes it's nice to have a dark outfit on. It changes things up a bit, at least.
ReplyDeleteI love that you wore red for your son to see you Mica. And kimonos are the best lightweight topper. It's so nice that you have multiple ones in different lengths too.

very cute outfits! I love the use of kimonos so much, the item is so versatile! I also used to have marcie, I got it preloved and not in the perfect shape but I loved it wore it until it literally fell apart
ReplyDeleteI got lucky - this one is in fantastic condition, I don't think it was ever worn! I just missed the one I used to have too much, haha!
DeleteThese outfits are both so great! You are the best when it comes to layering pieces and making it look effortless. The kimonos are a great way to handle changing temperatures...and also look fantastic. Congrats to your son for winning an award. That is wonderful <3
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Thank you, we are so proud of him!
DeleteYou look fabulous in both outfits, Mica! You are the Queen of Kimonos! I don't think the first outfit is too dark at all - it's perfect for fall verging on winter! I also really like the bright red in the second outfit - you look awesome in that colour.
ReplyDeleteI love that your sons are growing up with a colourful mum! I'm sure you'll influence them towards a love of colour. I so appreciate that with my mom. Happy Monday, honey!
PS - we ate the entire packet of Tim Tams (four of us). Then I noticed they sell them in my grocery store! :-O You've gotten me hooked! ;-P
Oh haha I'm sorry for passing my Tim Tam love onto you! :) My sons love being deliberate with colours when picking out their outfits - my son wore orange and red once I said he looked very autumnal and he was so proud so he keeps repeating the combo. My other son wore a lot of red one day so I called him my little strawberry and now he randomly picks out a red top and shorts so I'll do the same again! they are good boys :)
DeleteMe gusta el primer look, te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteLos dos outfits muy bonitos y boho chic, saludos:D
ReplyDeleteLove this look, what a pretty kimono :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the dark purple t-shirt and gold necklace paired with the converse. I can rarely type anything with my chunky bangles too, which is a shame as I love them so. Your son must of been so happy seeing you at the ceremony : )
ReplyDeletejuanitalikes.com
Yes, and it was so good to see him too! I love bracelet stacks, that one was juts a bit too noisy, haha!
DeleteThat is such a beautiful bag and it truly goes with everything! I love how it looks paired with that deep purple shade in the first outfit!
ReplyDeleteHello Mica, I hope you're having a lovely week so far!
ReplyDeleteI just loved the way you are adding your iconic bags to your outfit, this Chloe looks perfect and I bet I was a really good purchase! I have heard many good things about the brand and I bet it will last years!
The first look is my favorite for the palette but it is impressive to read that you found the skinny jeans of the second look for just 1 dollar! Such a good purchase!
Take care!

Yes I find some Chloe bags are really good quality - and I regretted selling the Marcie I had previously so this was a great way to get it back in my collection for a lower price, buying it preloved!
