What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Jumper: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Skirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
The knit jumper and the denim jacket together may have been a little bit overkill on a warm winter day, but it was very windy! I felt nice and cosy all layered up, and although I thought I wouldn't need a scarf I did miss it when we were in the shade and the wind picked up! Definitely didn't need any more layers on the sun though, it was quite strong and warm sunshine.I really liked the colour combo of the cobalt knit with the ochre maxi skirt, I need to wear this again! I thought the pale blue denim biker jacket and the navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag were great additions to the bright colours.
This maxi skirt is quite light in the wind but it's also pretty voluminous and so never flew up too much thank goodness!
Last worn: denim biker jacket, cobalt knit, beaded necklace, ochre maxi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.
Other ways to wear: denim biker jacket and floral dress, cobalt knit over sundress, ochre maxi skirt with stripes, white Converse and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and tee dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: cobalt marle knit in first trimester, white Converse in second trimester.
30 Ways To Wear A Navy Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Regan
What I wore:
Jumper: Warehouse grey bead front jumper
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
Unlike the outfit above, I ended up taking this denim jacket off when it warmed up! This pretty embellished knit is one I tend to very sparingly wear as it is so pretty it feels a bit too special for everyday wear, but it was overdue a wear so I got it out again! Paired it simply with the black thrifted maxi skirt and my classic dark blue denim jacket, and again the Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag. This was such a comfortable outfit for running around a lot and also working from home most of the day.Did the school drop off in the morning and wished I'd added a scarf, but by school pickup time I'd taken off the denim jacket as it was too warm! Took my son to his first in-person specialist appointment since iso! While restrictions had been lifted a few weeks before, some sniffles kept us away from the office and continuing to do our fortnightly session via telehealth. It was so good to be able to go into the office again! Face to face is much more entertaining for a 4 year old than a zoom call, although I'm glad we had those sessions to fall back on over Iso. The benefits of technology!
Last worn: denim jacket, embellished grey knit, black maxi skirt, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag (above).
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and little black dress, embellished grey knit and shorts, black maxi skirt worn 2 ways, black Converse and skinny jeans, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag with green.
Perfect for pregnancy: denim jacket in second trimester, embellished knit in first trimester, Converse in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A maxi skirt can be layered up for a warmer winter day by adding a cosy knit and a denim jacket.

I'd definitely wear the second outfit, that's very me, although I take your point about overheating with a jacket so I'd take a scarf with me to swap out :) Beautifully stylish as always, thank you for sharing your outfits! Lisa
ReplyDeleteYour winters seem much like our falls. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if our winters were like yours. I'm fine with the frigid temps and snow around the holiday season, but after that, I'm over it, lol! Anyway, these outfits are really cute. I love that you decided to wear that sparkly sweater, as I think it looks very cute with the skirt and layered under the denim; it dresses it down really nicely. I love pieces like that. You can get double wear by dressing up or down. I hope your son's cold is better!

Great outfits :)
ReplyDeleteI love the blues paired with ochre in your first outfit. The biker jacket is such a great alternative for a denim jacket. It looks utterly cosy for a walk on a Winter's day too! That said, I am a big fan of denim jackets too. Mine certainly is a wardrobe staple! Also, that beaded top in your second outfit is gorgeous! Hope your week went off to a good start! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt is a fun twist on a classic denim jacket! :)

I do like your maxis and knits , practical and stylish. Glad you could have a face to face appointment. Many thanks for hosting, enjoy your week Mica.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfits, both of them. The first one looks warm and cozy, I imagine you found it perfect for a windy day. That skirt comes in such a nice colour. It looks very voluminous. The second styling is very cute as well. I do agree that technology has its benefits but nothing can replace face to face contact. Still, technology can be sooo helpful!
ReplyDeleteYes it was helpful during Iso but I'm glad we are back to face to face now!
DeleteLove both outfits, the second would be my most favourite. You have the most amazing collection of handbags, Mica. I love wearing maxi skirts in winter too. Enjoy your week
