Pink Tees, Black Knits And Skinny Jeans With Turquoise Balenciaga First Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, two pink and turquoise outfits I wore recently for the school run and working from home. I liked the pink tees and black layers outfits I wore previously, so repeated similar outfits again, both accessorised with my little turquoise Balenciaga first bag.

What I wore:

Balenciaga chevre vintage turquoise first bag with black carfigan pink tee tartan scarf skinny jeans | awayfromblue

black cardigan and pink tee with Balenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India | awayfromtheblue

JacketCotton On black knit wrap cardigan
Scarf: blue tartan scarf
TeeCotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit! My favourite thrifted $1 faded black jeans, black cardigan and black and white Adidas Superstar sneakers were great basics to start with in my outfit and let me add more colour. While there is no pink in the tartan scarf, and the shades of blue are different from the little Balenciaga first bag, I thought all these colours went so nicely together.

The scarf was needed on a cold morning too, and at sports later in the evening! I had a couple quick errands to run after school drop off, before working from home and then picking the kids up at school in the afternoon.

Last worn: black cardigan, pink tee, tartan scarf, faded black skinny jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Balenciaga turquoise First bag.

Other ways to wear: black cardigan and shorts, pink tee knotted over dress, tartan scarf and stripes, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Adidas Superstar sneakers and midi dress, Balenciaga turquoise First bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancy: black cardigan and hidden second trimester bumptartan scarf in first trimester.

Why I wore it:

Just like last time I wore this cosy knitted kimono I paired it with a pink tee again! A brighter pink tee this time, but almost exactly the same as the last time I wore this knit, as I wore it with black jeans then too! It was the perfect thing to wear when all I had to do was working from home, and the school run. It's so warm and cosy, like a blanket!

While the pink tee adds a lot of colour to the black and white outfit, the turquoise Balenciaga first bag adds an extra pop I really enjoyed - it looks so good with both pink and black! Plus it had everything in it from when I'd worn it above, and meant I didn't need the hassle of switching over my bag while also making sure the kids got to school on time!

Last worn: knitted poncho, pink tee, navy tassel necklace, black Nobody Denim skinny jeans, Converse, Balenciaga turquoise first bag (above).

Other ways to wearknitted poncho and shorts, pink tee and maxi skirt, black Nobody Denim skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and pencil skirt, Balenciaga turquoise first bag and blue dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Pink tees look great with neutral black layers in winter - and you can't beat a classic jeans and tee outfit! A bright bag like this Balenciaga first bag is a nice way to add even more colour to winter layers too.

Jeans, Jumpers, and Purple Scarves

Two very cosy outfits with some statement knits and skinny jeans on extra cold winter days recently here in Brisbane. Accessorised with pretty purple scarves for some more colour too!

What I wore:

metallic gold vintage knit jumper grey skinny jeans converse purple scarf and bag | awayfromblue

vintage gold knit with Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum and grey skinny jeans | awayfromtheblue

Scarf: Sportsgirl animal scarf in violet
Knit: thrifted vintage Haneli metallic gold knit jumper
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum

Why I wore it:

I loved how comfortable this outfit was! I had nothing terribly exciting planned, the school run, working from home and an appointment, so I just wanted to be cosy. This vintage metallic knit and the grey skinny jeans was a combination I wasn't too sure about, if it would be too like silver and gold together, but decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! I think the purple leopard print scarf and the purple Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote really pulled the outfit together, they were a nice pop of colour and coordinate well.

What I wore:

pink and blue knit and jeans winter outfit converse purple scarf cobalt jumper and magenta pink jeans | awayfromblue

blue and pink jumper and jeans outfit with Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight | awyafromtheblue

Scarf: thrifted checked purple pashmina scarf
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This outfit is exactly the same formula as the one above, but was even more colourful! It's not the first time I've worn this cobalt knit with the magenta jeans, I really like blue and pink together! Blue, pink and purple is an awesome combo so I decided to accessorise with this thrifted purple pashmina. I wasn't sure that the checked fabric would work with the marle on the knit, but again as with the outfit above I'm glad I tried it as I think it worked well! With the bright jeans, bright top and colourful purple scarf, I went with my neutral white Converse.

Couldn't decide on just the right bag for this outfit - I knew I needed a neutral one to balance out the colour a bit. Went with this little navy micro Bedford crossbody bag in the end - it does go with everything and I've worn it with these pink jeans and a blue leather jacket before so I knew it would be a good choice for this blue and pink outfit too!

Another quiet day - no working from home as it was the weekend, so just a couple of errands and a library trip with the boys. It was a little too chilly to stop in the playground, but perfect for snuggling up at home and reading the books we borrowed.

Last worn: purple pashmina, cobalt knit, magenta jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.

Other ways to wearpurple pashmina in monochrome outfit, cobalt knit and maxi skirt, magenta jeans and floral kimono, white Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and chambray dress.

How You Can Wear It:

A cosy knitted jumper is an easy way to stay warm on a cold winter day, especially when paired with jeans. A colourful scarf can help keep you cosier too, and add a little more colour to your outfit, like these purple scarves do.

Skinny Jeans, Pink Tops and Black and White Prints With Chloe Bags

Adding a little colour to black and white winter jeans outfits I wore recently, with some pink tees. Accessorising with my two most recently purchased Chloe handbags as well.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff Ruana poncho knit with Adidas Superstar sneakers black skinny jeans chloe marcie bag pink tee | awayfromblue

Chloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut | awayfromtheblue

JacketRebecca Minkoff Ruana poncho
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
TeeCotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus wooden bead bracelets and rose gold bead bracelet
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

After I recently wore this cosy kimono and remembered how much I love it, I just had to wear it again! It was perfect for keeping me warm in the colder morning while we went to a kid's birthday party, although it was a bit warm in the afternoon when we went to the library and were out in the sun at the playground with all that black!

Because there was an organised activity at the party, the kids had a blast while I got to enjoy chatting to my friends, and of course there was plenty of food and delicious cake too. It was a good party for everyone.

This pink tee is one of my favourites and so was definitely due another wear! I considered a scarf but after it warmed up I was glad I'd picked the necklace instead. I thought the textured beads were a nice combination with the black and white design on the knit.

The Chloe Marcie bag was perfect for carrying all my essentials plus the kids water bottles too.

What I wore:

striped duster and Chloe small Paddington in 2006 blanc worn in crook of arm | awayfromtheblue

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Ruby frill sleeve tee in fuchsia
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagChloe small Paddington in 2006 blanc

Why I wore it:

Another scarf-free day! This was an extremely warm winter day so I took the chance to wear this thrifted multi strand wooden bead necklace instead. With the black beads, black skinny jeans and black and white striped duster, I felt this bright pink tee popped even more than usual! It was a fun outfit for a quiet day - just the school run, working from home, a couple errands, and then sports in the evening. This duster is quite thin but polyester so it was perfect at keeping me just warm enough on the warmer day.

It's been a while since I wore this cute little mini Chloe Paddington bag I picked up at Glad Rags Markets - so since I didn't need to carry much I took it out for a spin. The lovely cream colour was another way to add a bit more lightness to the mostly black outfit.

Last worn: striped duster, black statement necklace, pink tee, Nobody Denim skinny jeans, Converse, Chloe mini Paddington bag.

Other ways to wearstriped duster and dress, pink tee and printed shorts, Nobody Denim skinny jeans and kimono, Converse and midi dress, Chloe mini Paddington bag and navy dress.

Perfect for pregnancystriped duster in second trimesterblack Converse in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Black and white are classic neutrals that go with everything! I like pink and black together and as you can see in these outfits, pink really stands out when worn with black and white printed pieces.

Monochrome Maxi Skirt Outfits With Contrasting Crossbody Bag

Blue is my favourite colour and my go-to when I need a bit of an extra boost. I wore all the blue in these outfits, with some blue thrifted knits and blue printed maxi skirts. Added the prune Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag the boys got me for mothers day as the perfect pop of colour.

What I wore:

Jumper: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Skirt: Jeanswest Farrah blue tie dye maxi skirt
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

This was all about being comfortable! With the school run and working from home I wanted something cute and cosy, and this was perfect! I was eager to try winterise this maxi skirt, which is a great piece in summer but the side-slit would normally make me pass over it in winter. Decided to try my knee high leather boots underneath so there was no bare leg to deal with the winter chill and it worked really well! So much that I tried the boots and side split maxi skirt outfit combo again a couple days later, as you can see below.

Last worn: cobalt knit, tie dye maxi skirt, tan boots, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC.

Other ways to wearcobalt knit and printed jeans, tie dye maxi skirt and red tee, tan boots and floral dress, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC and double denim.

Perfect for pregnancycobalt knit in first trimester.

What I wore:

Jumper: thrifted blue Kmart stitch detail knit
Skirt: Ally Fashion blue border print floral maxi skirt
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

What a day this was! It was a lot colder than expected so even with the knee high tan boots on under this maxi skirt, I really felt the breeze from the side splits in the skirt! Thankfully the stich detail knit kept me cosy on top. We headed out to an opshop (thrift store/charity shop) to drop off some donations, because I'd thought they were also having a special weekend sale day. I was very surprised to get there and find the opshop closed. And the kids were unimpressed as they were looking forward to a good rummage through the books!

Luckily they have a donation bin so we could still drop off when they were closed, but it was a much shorter trip than expected. It was only later in the afternoon that I went to look up the event on Facebook and realised that I'd got mixed up, and it was another local opshop that had a sale day! We will just have to catch the next one.

With the pink and turquoise floral print on this maxi skirt, I wasn't sure the prune MAC bag would be a good accessory with it, but just like above I think the deep magenta shade actually worked really well with this skirt. Will have to wear them together again soon, just maybe on a warmer day!

Last worn: blue knit, floral maxi skirt, tan boots (above), Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC.

Other ways to wearblue knit and jeans, floral maxi skirt with pink tee, tan boots and skinny jeans, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC and printed dress.

How You Can Wear It:

Pairing two pieces of clothing together in your favourite colour is an easy and mood-boosting way to come up with a tonal outfit. And if one of the pieces you want to wear is a summer maxi skirt, try layering up a little with knee high boots and a cosy knit.

Blue Knits, Colourful Jeans and Chloe Ethel Bag

Wearing two blue thrifted knits, a new one I picked up on an opshop trip back in summer, and an older one also from an opshop, that's been in my wardrobe a few years. Paired with colourful jeans and some cosy scarves, because it's a chilly winter here in Brisbane!

What I wore:

blue and pink jeans and jumper outfit with navy polka dot scarf converse and magenta jeans | awayfromblue

chloe small ethel bag in light khaki handheld | awayfromblue

Scarf: Target Sadie woven scarf in blue spot print
Jumper: thrifted blue Kmart stitch detail knit
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

I really liked the colours in this outfit! I like blue and pink together and this knit was perfect with the magenta jeans. While I thrifted the knit back in December this is the first time I've worn it. It looks like it's never been worn and it was just $1 so I couldn't pass it up in the opshop even though I knew it would be a while before I wore it! Because it was an extra cold morning I added a scarf to keep cosy. I wasn't sure at first which one to go with but I liked the navy against the paler blue of the jumper and polka dots are always cute.

Nice simple outfit for the school run, working from home, and sports in the evening. Even if I did need to take the scarf off for the school pickup in the afternoon as the day had warmed up so much!

Last worn: polka dot scarf, magenta jeans, white Converse, Chloe Ethel bag. First time I've worn the blue jumper since I thrifted it back in summer.

Other ways to wearpolka dot scarf and stripes, magenta jeans and blazer, white Converse and maxi skirt, Chloe Ethel bag and striped dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What Fits Inside Chloe Ethel Bag:

Jumper: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual

Why I wore it:

This ended up being a really wet day! The rain barely let up! I wanted my cosiest scarf so I pulled out this studded paisley print infinity scarf / snood that I always enjoy using in winter. While the taupe shade is different from the more caramel tone of the Chloe Ethel bag, I thought the accessories looked nice together, and I always love blue and green! These olive jeans go with everything.

Wore this for a busy weekend day - with a bunch of errands, a library trip, and of course having to vote as well as it was back in May.

Last worn: cobalt marle knit, Paisley print snood, olive jeans, New Balance sneakers, Chloe Ethel bag (above).

Other ways to wearcobalt marle knit and maxi skirt, Paisley print snood and dress, olive jeans worn 30 ways, Chloe Ethel bag and pink dress.

Perfect for pregnancyblue jumper in first trimester, Paisley print snood in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Jeans and a jumper is such a simple winter outfit, and you can always add a little extra warmth and print with a scarf.

Colourful Knits and Printed Shorts With Chloe Paraty Bag

With warmer weather at the end of August as spring started to arrive in Brisbane, I squeezed in a final wear of my winter knits, pairing them with cute printed shorts to create the perfect outfits for the temperatures.

What I wore:

mustard knit with navy printed culotte shorts, converse, chloe small periwinkle paraty bag | awayfromblue

Chloe periwinkle small Paraty bag with navy printed shorts | away from blue

Necklace: Uniquely Made with Love Sea Change necklace
Knit: SES fashions mustard marle knit jumper
Shorts: Kmart culotte short in navy lemon print
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

What a day this was! It was set to be a pretty relaxed day, with sports for the little one after dropping his eldest off at school, and then a little playdate before lunch and picking his brother up in the evening. However none of the kids wanted to leave the playdate! The other mums had prepared and brought lunch, we ended up having to buy some overpriced snacks as I had nothing - usually the lure of going home for lunch is enough to end the playdate. It made sense though, they had just come out of an unusually long for Brisbane 8 day lockdown the other week and had been missing their friends - so I was happy to let him keep on playing. He was not so happy though when we had to hurry up and leave  after 4 hours to get to school in time to pick up his brother though, ha!

I really like this mustard knit and it layers so well for winter. Although this is the first time I've worn it on its own and I'm realising it's maybe not the best colour for me (at least it looks like it in the photos) I loved this outfit. I liked the mustard with the lemon yellow print on the navy culottes and it was the perfect warmth for the day with just a little breeze. Kept all the accessories blue to pair nicely with the navy shorts, even though the Converse and the Chloe small periwinkle Paraty bag are different shades of blue.

Last worn: mustard marl knit, beaded necklace, navy printed culottes, blue Converse All Star, small Chloe Paraty bag.

Other ways to wearmustard marl knit and printed jeans, navy printed culottes and pink tee, blue Converse All Star and striped dress, small Chloe Paraty bag and maxi skirt.

Shorts: Jeanswest Parker printed shirred short

Why I wore it:

Again, I loved this outfit. It was a bit of a windy day so I appreciated the knit when we were in the shade as we scooted around our local park. Headed to the shops after for a bulk birthday present buying - the lifting of lockdown back in August brought with it a flurry of birthday party invites for the kids and we had a lot of fun wandering around Kmart picking out gifts.

Since I liked the mustard knit and navy culotte combo in the outfit above, I'd actually thought of my navy striped culottes with this cobalt knit. I just couldn't make it work though, the paper bag waist didn't look good with the slouchy knit no matter how much or how little I tucked it in. Since it was too hot for jeans and a jumper, ended up pulling out these little black printed shorts that have not been worn in a while instead and they were perfect! Black and blue work really well together, especially when the blue is a bold shade like this jumper.

Wore my Chloe small Paraty bag again for more blue with the knit, even though it's a different shade. And because it perfectly fit in all our water bottles for our scoot around the park.

Last worn: cobalt marl knit, feather necklace, black printed shorts, New Balance sneakers, periwinkle Chloe Paraty bag (above).

Other ways to wearcobalt marl knit over maxi dress, black printed shorts and cardigan, New Balance sneakers and dress, periwinkle Chloe Paraty bag and jeans.

How You Can Wear It:

When spring weather starts to arrive you can get a few extra wears from your winter knits by pairing them with cute shorts on warmer days.

Knits and Printed Maxi Skirts | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up I'm sharing some comfortable outfits for making the most of the end of winter weather back in August. Squeezing in another wearing of some cosy winter knits with printed maxi skirts before it warmed up too much with spring days away.

What I wore:

ombre stripe knit with red boho print maxi skirt for late winter birthday party park outfit | awayfromblue

Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki with red printed maxi skirt | away from the blue

Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Necklace: layered Tai gold alphabet necklaces
Knit: Jeanswest 'Serena' ombre knit
Skirtthrifted Billabong 'Don't Think Of It' bikini red printed maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

This was a really foggy morning after a rainy evening the day before. We had a very small (due to Covid restrictions in place at the time) birthday party in the park to attend for my son's friend. Being by the bay I didn't want to be too cold if the clouds stuck around and there was a lot of breeze off the water, but I didn't want to overheat if the sun came out either. I figured the open knit of this ombre jumper was a good compromise. The sun came out just after we left the house though and it turned into a really warm day! I kinda regretted wearing the jumper!

I thought the ombre would be an interesting pairing with the print on the maxi skirt too, the neutral knit balancing it out so it didn't look too bold. Changed my mind a couple times before going ahead, but in the end even if the knit was a little warm I'm glad I tried something a little different with this skirt!

The Chloe Ethel was perfectly sized for carrying everything I needed - it fits so much inside! I also had a big green bag though for the picnic blanket, jumpers for the boys in case it was cold (that they ended up not needing at all), and a book for me to read after the party while the kids played in the playground.

Last worn: gold heart earrings, ombre knit, initial necklaces, red printed maxi skirt, black Converse, Chloe Ethel.

Other ways to wearombre knit worn two ways, red printed maxi skirt worn 30 ways, black Converse and shorts, Chloe Ethel and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancyombre knit at 40 weeks, black Converse in second trimester.

What I wore:

cobalt knit and converse with grey pinstripe maxi skirt and magenta edie crossbody bag | awayfromtheblue

pinstripe grey maxi skirt with Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta | away from the blue

Necklace: silver heart long pendant necklace
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Skirt: thrifted pinstripe maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta

Why I wore it:

Much like the day before this was a foggy start to the morning and it warmed up much more than I expected! Ended up taking my jumper off as I sat in the back garden while the little one played. It was a quiet day at home really. My eldest boy had an event on most of the day so I was grateful for the jumper in the cooler morning when I dropped him off, and in the afternoon when I picked him up.

As I didn't have much to do or many places to be I wore my cute little Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody bag again - it's a good size for the essentials like phone, wallet, mask, keys and hand sanitiser. I really like the way it pops with the cobalt knit too!

This grey pinstripe maxi skirt is an incredibly comfortable one - I knew it was overdue a wear but I was shocked to see I hadn't worn it since 2020! Definitely needs to be worn more, I love the cut, so different from all my other maxi skirts. Like the cobalt knit, it was an opshop find too and another thrift bargain.

Last worn: cobalt knit, silver heart necklace, grey stripe maxi skirt, black Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearcobalt knit and jeans, grey stripe maxi skirt and striped scarf, black Converse in the office, Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie crossbody bag and culottes.

How You Can Wear It

Maxi skirts and jumpers are cosy and comfortable for winter days. Try a neutral knit and a colourful skirt, or vice versa, for an easy outfit.
