What I wore:
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Skirt: thrifted Ghanda midi slink skirt in green mini blossom
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware
Why I wore it:
Another busy day! My son had a specialist appointment which lucky for him meant he missed a little bit of school that morning. We headed into the city - unfortunately with all the traffic - in the morning, and then I dropped him off at school and worked from home for a bit before school pickup in the afternoon.I was determined to try this midi skirt with something other than Converse - these little black ballet flats were cute, although maybe not the best for driving with my knee injury, and matched the black statement necklace nicely. Both the skirt and necklace are recent opshop finds. I wasn't quite sure if this grey tunic top worked with the green midi skirt - maybe too relaxed a style with it, I went back and forth a few times but in the end I liked this outfit, I'm glad I gave it a try! A grey tee really does go with anything!
Last worn: grey tunic, black multi strand necklace, green floral midi skirt, ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.
Other ways to wear: grey tunic and printed shorts, green floral midi skirt and Converse, ballet flats and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag and denim skirt.
Perfect for pregnancy: ballet flats in second trimester.

Opshop Haul - What I Thrifted In February
What I wore:
Necklace: Happiness Boutique turquoise and coral pendant necklace (c/o)
Tee: Jimmy Rees Pfiiiiizer darling vaxed tee
Skirt: Nobody Denim Piper vacation skirt in black distressed denim
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware
Why I wore it:
Couldn't resist getting another wear of my Jimmy Rees Pfiiiiizer tee to the vaccination centre! Took the boys back for their second vaccine dose. I was feeling a lot better than when we took them for their first one back at the start of the year, when I was still recovering from my wisdom tooth surgery.
We had a trip to the library that day too so I added this green floral print duster to my outfit to keep me warm in the cold aircon in both places. It's not the same shade of green as the text on the tee but I love this duster with grey tees! And with the grey tee, black denim skirt, black Converse, and black tote bag, it was a very monochromatic outfit without that pop of colour from the kimono! The black tote bag was a must though, for carrying snacks, water bottles, and a little post-vaccination lolly for the kids. They were very brave.

How You Can Wear It:
The outfits above would work with any colourful printed piece you're not too confident about wearing. Any colour looks great with a grey tee! It's the best wardrobe basic!
I really like the first outfit and I bet it was nice to wear the ballet flats for a change. Too bad they weren't so great for your knee though.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week so far Mica!
xo,
Kellyann
Yes my knee really needs a lot of support, especially when I'm driving sadly!
Deletei really love the second look. Looks good on you :)

That is such a versatile tote! I love the edgy vibe it adds to both outfits!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in both looks but I love the first one on you. You always look so put together with your pretty outfits.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear they're vaxing the kids over there! I love the green mini skirt. Also I've just found a load of your comments on my blog that fell into the spam folder, oops!

Hello lady,
ReplyDeleteI really like the second look, I'm a big fan of kimonos!
You always have your days so full and with so many tasks, you must arrive at the end of the day exhausted!!

Thanks Marisa! I don't think the days are too full - just regular mum life days! :)
DeleteAs a lover of all things green, I do love both of these outfits, Mica! I think the first one looks very dressed up and indeed, the grey tunic top works very well with the midi skirt. The green floral duster in the second outfit is a stunner! xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. that first outfit is perfect for the office. And it is starting to warm up where I could wear that.
ReplyDeleteYes I'm looking forward to wearing that skirt to the office, just haven't been able to organise a day to go in yet, still loving WFH!
DeleteYa for your boys being full vaccinated. Looks like they might been coming out with a short for kids 6 and under now. So we are just waiting and see. In 7 month baby girl will be 5.

Hopefully they will have that soon for you!
DeleteGreen is nice.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the boys on being fully vaxxed now! I love the pink star charm you've added to your RM tote--it really pops and is so fun! :) The green looks great on you. For some reason, I just never gravitate toward green for myself, haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely trying to be more open to it but find it to be a tricky colour to style!
DeleteAnd I feel a lot better having them vaccinated - even though I know it's mild in most kids, don't want to take chances!
Hooray for double-vaxxed! What a great feeling it is!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your first outfit, Mica - and maybe it's the light, but your grey tee looks purple. The black necklace and ballet flats are AWESOME together, and the green skirt gives this a really nice 20s (the 1920s!) silhouette. I bet you got a lot of compliments! Maybe you can find an all-black ballet flat style athletic shoe - I'm sure they make such a thing (I used to have a Puma pair).
The kimono is the star of your second look - and again, I'm really liking the darker colours on you.
PS - I sent you an email! :)
So true Sheila, I'm glad they are all vaccinated! :) I'm glad you liked it, it was nice to try something different, this skirt is really going to make me think and try different things in my outfits! :)
DeleteNice outfits, second is my favorite, this kimono looks absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!:)
I am glad you are finding all kinds of ways to wear that green skirt. I don't think I have tried a grey top with mine: so need to plan to do that.

Grey is my go-to neutral when I'm unsure what to wear with something, haha! It always works!
DeleteThe ballet flats are a stylish way to dress up that first outfit without giving up the comfort you would get from Converse. It's too bad they weren't the best choice for driving with your knee still on the mend. That's great that your boys got their second vaccination. It must give you more peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteYes I feel better with them being vaxxed. I want to wear all my other pretty shoes more, and get back to my ballets flats, but a day with so much driving was not the best idea!
DeleteGreat news about the boys being double jabbed (as we say in the UK!) Loving both looks, you look really elegant in the first outfit and the kimono in the second is gorgeous. xxx
ReplyDeleteI really like the skirt of the 1st outift, even if a kimono+miniskirt combo looks always so effortlessly cool!
ReplyDeleteReally I cant choice which one is my fav: they're different but both with the same level of style!

The first skirt is great. I like a big bag that can fit a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely :). I really like the kimono, I don't nearly wear enough green! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to introduce more of it to my outfits, I find it a tricky colour to wear but it's nice to try something different!
DeleteMe gusta el segundo look, pero ambos te quedan bien. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteLos dos outfits son muy bonitos, les da mucho estilo las flores, saludos:D
ReplyDeleteI love the green kimono! What a pretty color! Hope you had a great weekend at your son's party!

We did, thanks so much!
DeleteBoth your dresses are lovely but I love the first one a little more. Yay! that your kids got vaccinated. My younger son still needs to get his booster shot. :-) Have a lovely day my dear
