What I wore:
Necklace: Roie Designs multi chain layered beaded necklace
Jumper: SES fashions mustard marle knit jumper
Jeans: Sass & Bide Playman skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Balenciaga first bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
I thought a necklace was a nicer fit for this outfit than a scarf - the chevron print of the jeans can be tricky to wear prints with. With it being just 15 degrees (Celsius) on the way to drop my son off at school though I really regretted not adding a scarf to this! It was thankfully a day we didn't have to be outside too much for, with indoor sports for the little one after school drop off and then sports again for both kids in the evening after school pickup. By then I had added a scarf to my outfit though, such a chilly night!Surprisingly I haven't worn this mustard marl knit with the chevron print jeans before! I thought it was a nice combo, and even with a layer on under the knit the looser fit of this leather jacket means it accommodated the knit nicely. With the black jacket and black jeans I really liked the added black with the necklace - this one hasn't been worn in so long, it was definitely overdue a wear!
The fun turquoise Balenciaga bag was a great pop with the black and mustard too, a nice way to add just a little more colour to my outfit.
Last worn: black moto leather jacket, multi chain necklace, mustard marl knit, chevron print skinny jeans, Converse, Balenciaga first bag.
Other ways to wear: black moto leather jacket and maxi skirt, mustard marl knit and pencil skirt, chevron print skinny jeans and pink tee, Balenciaga first bag and shorts.

Favourite Bag in My Balenciaga Collection:
What I wore:
Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl navy and white geo print tassel scarf
Jumper: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Jeans: Sass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Balenciaga raisin purple 2009 giant silver G21 hardware work bag
Why I wore it:
This outfit was even more colourful than the one above with the bright jeans and knit. And this time around, I learnt my lesson and wore a scarf!Again I wore another thin marl knit - this cobalt blue one looks great with the magenta jeans, I really like blues with these jeans! And the geometric print tassel scarf seemed like a nice match with the cobalt. The black leather jacket has some blue and grey floral print on it too, but I think it's so subtle the prints work well together. Went even more colourful with the big purple Balenciaga work bag. It wasn't a day I had to carry around a lot with me for - a couple errands, the school run and a vet visit again for Cooper. I just felt like carrying this big bag again as I love it and it's so rarely worn nowadays. It used to be a staple for working in the office, back before we had the hybrid ways of working that mean we mostly work from home now!
Last worn: printed leather jacket, geometric tassel scarf, cobalt marl knit, magenta jeans, Converse (above), Balenciaga purple work bag.
Other ways to wear: printed leather jacket worn 30 ways, geometric tassel scarf with purple, cobalt marl knit and maxi skirt, magenta jeans and florals, Converse and striped dress, Balenciaga purple work bag in the office.
Perfect for pregnancy: cobalt marl knit in first trimester, Converse in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Picking some colourful knits can make cold weather dressing more cheerful - even if you do layer them with darker neutrals like the black leather jackets. You can let the knit be a pop of colour like the first outfit, or pair it with colourful jeans and a scarf like in the second outfit.

Me encanto el segundo outfit y los dos estilos y colores de los bolsos, saludos:D
ReplyDeleteI like the scarf to the outfit a lot! The tassels are fun! And the leather jacket is fabulous, they look great on everything don't they!
ReplyDeleteDear Mica, you know, I love your dresses and skirts outfits a lot, but these chevron printed jeans are also awesome. The mustard marl knit and the leather jacket are the perfect combo. You look very pretty in the second outfit too. I especially love the color of the bright jeans and the scarf.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!

I love seeing colorful outfits in winter, the chevron print of our jeans is fun! But I really like the bright denim of the second one, especially with the scarf. Thanks so much for the link up!

Nothing beats a leather jacket for layering! Love both both these looks. Thanks for the link up Mica!

I donated many of my purses/bags from the move so you know what that means, hopefully some shopping this fall, maybe. Your outfits are lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice you were able to do that! When we moved a couple years back I still struggled downsizing my wardrobe, haha!
DeleteI like both of these. I am going to try to wear my leather jacket more this year. And you know how much I love all of your scarf outfits!
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
Mica, that first outfit is so cool! I love these chevron jeans every time you wear them. I really like the second outfit, too, with those rich tones. And what a gorgeous bag collection!

They are such statement jeans, I really love them! :)
DeleteI never would have thought those were jeans in the first picture. They look just like leggings. Cute fall outfits! Love the jacket.
ReplyDeleteNope, definitely jeans! :)
DeleteThis is such a great style. It’s a tough cool girl casual look which I totally love :)

Loving that mustard top paired with the grays! And love the purple Balenciaga too! Most of my bags are feeling unloved at the moment since all I've been using is my new Prada, haha!Eventually I'll start rotating again
ReplyDeletehttps://www.closet-fashionista.com/
Yes I really need to do better at rotating my bags too - my newly bought ones are getting all the love it seems!
DeleteThat first outfit is SO COOL. The moto jacket with the print on the jeans and that mustard coloured top is just so perfect. I love that this is an edgy look that is still really wearable. You look amazing! And yes, sometimes it is just nice to have a big bag on hand to carry everything!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Love these colorful combinations to combat the dreariness of winter! Mustard + aqua and cobalt + bright pink are A+ combos.
ReplyDeleteYes, I really like colourful outfits any time of year! :)
DeleteThat Balenciaga bag was my fav bag for years! I have 2, one pink and one cream, and right now the're both worn out for how much I used them!^^
ReplyDeleteVery cool outfits anyway! Those chevron pants looks so stylish!

I love a good worn out slouchy Balenciaga! :)
DeleteI love both of these outfits, Mica! I can see where the chevron jeans would be a bit tricky to style, but they are really cool. And the brightness of the second outfit is awesome.

I'm finding sticking with block colour pieces with them really helps - they are being worn quite a lot recently!
DeleteYeah, sometimes you need a scarf.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving these thin marl knit jumpers of yours, although they wouldn't do for our Winters here. 15°C sounds quite alright to me!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite of the two outfits here is the first one. The mustard jumper looks fabulous with those chevron print skinnies and the addition of the black leather jacket and the necklace is giving it some edge! Wishing you a great week ahead Mica! xxx
haha yes our winters are very different! That's a very cold day for us here!
DeleteThe first look you could wear out on date night. I love the leather jacket with that bag!
ReplyDeleteLove your bags!

Wow, everything is so beautiful ... great.
ReplyDeleteYour first outfit really appeals to me, Mica, but I can't help wishing those patterned jeans were wider legs to help balance the top half. I love the rock & roll vibe.
ReplyDeleteThe colours in the second outfit are fabulous - I am not sure about the scarf, though. All that white is distracting from the rest of the look. However, you do look awesome. :)
Sending good vibes for wee Cooper.
Thanks Sheila - he's had a tough run of it lately poor pup!
DeleteThese are both great transitional outfits, Mica! I love how you incorporate jackets and scarves into your outfits.

Mica,
ReplyDeleteJust today I found several leather jackets at a couple of my local thrift stores. Even though I'm going sell most of them, I'm keeping one or two so this post of yours is very timely with its styling inspirations. I really like how you brought in bold colors as a bright offset against the black leather. I'm going to make note to remember that when it comes time for me to wear my jackets.

ReplyDeleteHey Mica, I hope you're having a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteI envy you, I miss my leather jackets and coats when it is summertime and I can't wait to wear them once again. I think both looks are really interesting since you add the perfect accessories and the extra touch of a vibrant color.
15 degrees sounds really nice, i bet it is not that hard but you can still add some layers to your outfits and stay comfortable. I loved your Balenciaga collection by the way, you have such a good taste when it comes to pick bags :)
