What I wore:
Scarf: Alexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
Tee: Jimmy Rees Pfiiiiizer darling vaxed tee
Jeans: Nobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet
Why I wore it:
This is the first time I've worn this cosy knitted kimono this year, and it reminded my why I love it! It's so very warm! Had a nice quiet day as I didn't have to do the school run (hubby and I share the responsibility when we both work from home). I was extremely comfortable in this jeans and tee outfit all day as I worked from home, and the knit was easy enough to slide off my shoulder in the afternoon when I went out to my vaccine appointment. The only downside of this outfit was that with the magenta Alexander McQueen skull scarf and the knit, you can't see the fun "Pfiiiiizer" design on the tee that made me want to wear it to my appointment, too perfect not to wear!
I did love how the scarf added more colour to this outfit though, and it is not an exact match to the Marc Jacobs bag, but a pretty close one that made my matchy-matchy self happy. This bag is a thrift find I don't wear neatly often enough. It was perfect for this outing, it's roomier than it looks so I had all my essentials in there plus a library book to read while waiting.
Last worn: knitted kimono, magenta skull scarf, grey tee, Nobody Denim black skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch.
Other ways to wear: knitted kimono worn two ways, magenta skull scarf and stripes, grey tee and maxi skirt, Nobody Denim black skinny jeans and blazer, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch and cross body strap.
Perfect for pregnancy: magenta skull scarf in third trimester.

Ways to Wear Bright Bags:
What I wore:
Scarf: Louis Vuitton monogram shawl in bleu
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoes: Adidas Stan Smith sneakers in white and navy
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt
Why I wore it:
Another weekend outfit sneaking into the Weekday Wear Link Up! Since I liked the outfit above so much I wanted to recreate something similar a few days later. This Louis Vuitton shawl and the cobalt Rebecca Minkoff jumbo love bag are such a good pairing together. I felt that the bold blue accessories really brightened this outfit up a lot, especially with the loose way I threw on the scarf so you could see more of it. The grey tee and faded black jeans and black cardigan looked a bit dull otherwise, even with the white sneakers.I liked the scarf and bag together so much that even when it warmed up in the afternoon I kept the scarf on, and just took the black cardigan off.
Was a busy morning of driving my kids to their friends houses for drop off playdates, and then since I was kid free and we had finally shaken the winter coughs that plagued us in the last weeks of the school term and over the winter school holidays, I felt safe enough to go visit my friends who just had a baby, dropping off another little present and chatting with them about life with a newborn, which they are adjusting to so well.
Last worn: black knitted cardigan, Louis Vuitton shawl, grey tunic, faded black skinny jeans, Stan Smith sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff cobalt jumbo love bag.
Other ways to wear: black knitted cardigan and printed jeans, Louis Vuitton shawl worn as a wrap, grey tunic and shorts, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Stan Smith sneakers and stripes, Rebecca Minkoff cobalt jumbo love bag with pink and purple.
Perfect for pregnancy: black belted cardigan in first trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Winter is the perfect time for layering - and adding colour to dark layers with bright accessories! For a little extra fun, try matching a bright bag with an equally colourful scarf - even if the shades are just similar instead of an exact match, it's a great way to brighten up your outfit.

Hello!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked this matchy-matchy with the bag and scarve, but my favorite is the first look! As you know, I'm not a fan of the color blue!
I hope you are well after you have had the vaccine!

Hey Mica, I hope you're having a good winter time over Australia
ReplyDeleteI have some monochromatic pieces and some grey suits, so adding them a splash of really bright colors (like in this proposal) will be my safe option for the next autumn-winter season ;) Thank you so much for your tip!
