Two casual festive tee and shorts outfits I wore for Christmas, for two very different days!

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a night out to Movie World for the annual White Christmas event. It's become a tradition, and it's so much fun! They have fake snow, the rides are open, there is a parade at the end of the night. We had a really good time, as always!

Wanted to be very Christmassy but also comfortable as it was such a humid evening - it ended up raining during the parade but we luckily had a spot undercover.

This little Rebecca Minkoff Avery tote bag is a great crossbody as it fits my essentials and my camera for the evening. I've worn it to this event before in a previous year. And with the red festive tee and the olive green shorts, it was a very Christmas-y outfit.

Why I wore it:

This was an utterly exhausting day. It was Christmas eve, and as we were hosting Christmas at our place this year it was going to be a fun food and family filled day. Unfortunately my son needed to be rushed to the hospital and we ended up spending most of the day there. Thankfully the doctors and nurses got on top of things so we could return home later in the afternoon for Christmas eve! 

When I got home and got my son settled I quickly changed from the clothes I'd grabbed at the last minute that morning into this more festive Santa glitter tee and these cute black printed shorts. Thankfully I'd planned my outfit out in advance. As we were spending the afternoon at home I didn't really need a bag, but had this one in the photos anyway as I'd grabbed it in the morning and filled it with water bottles and books and snacks in case we had a long stay at the hospital. I was regretting not filling it with more food in fact!

It was a bit of a more rushed Christmas eve than usual but we tried to make it special for the kids, and we were just grateful we could be at home together for it in the end.

Chloe Marcie and Dresses For Christmas Events

Today I'm sharing two pretty Kmart dresses I wore for two Christmas events recently, both outfits accessorised with my Chloe Marcie shoulder bag.

What I wore:

Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and gold leaf bangle

Why I wore it:

This was really fun - our vet was doing a fundraiser and Santa paws photos, so we got all dressed up for our annual family photo. We did not bring the kid's insect menagerie along, Cooper is a handful enough! It was really fun and we got so many great photos.

We had to stop at the library on our way home and I felt a little overdressed for that, with the floral maxi dress and the big statement earrings. But it was perfect for our Christmas photos!

With the gold beads in the earrings and the gold hardware on the Chloe Marcie bag, I added this little gold leaf bangle to be even more matchy-matchy too.

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a quiet morning at home, followed by a very fun afternoon at Carols by Candlelight. There were rides, food trucks, craft stations...the kids had a blast, and I enjoyed the carol service in the evening while the kids enjoyed swinging around the little electric candles they were given. There was even a fireworks show at the end.

It was a very humid day so I didn't need an extra layer, but thought this maxi dress was a good choice as it covered my legs to avoid the mozzies without me overheating. With the coral red of this dress, the green beaded necklace seemed like a fun nod to Christmas too! I had the big Chloe Marcie bag for all our water bottles and some snacks - although there was plenty of food there! I'd taken a blanket for laying on the grass in the evening, but didn't have to carry that around as I put it on the grass to save our spot while we walked around all the attractions.

Black Printed Dresses With Pink Mini 5-Zip Rebecca Minkoff Bag

Using my little iris pink mini 5 zip crossbody bag for a pop of colour with these black printed dresses for some very warm summer days recently.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

Forth wear of this $2 Kmart clearance dress - such a good find! This time around I pushed the sleeves up a bit (it has elasticated sleeves) for a slightly different look. Although it was a hot and humid day, this dress is light and was good physical sunblock. We had a quick errand to run in the morning and then a pool party in the afternoon. Being such a light dress, it was a perfect bikini cover up as it dried out in the heat so well.

Kept it casual with my Havaianas as most of the day was spent around the pool with bare feet anyway! I had a big reusable tote for towels and this little mini 5 zip bag was perfect for keeping the essentials separate and easy to find.

Why I wore it:

Wore this after the pool party - I'd managed to injure my knee in the pool so had my trusty knee brace out again, and comfortable practical Stan Smith sneakers. It was another hot day so I went with a simple printed dress again, this black and white striped one is good in the summer heat and perfect for the school run and working from home.

Again I went with the little pink bag. It really pops against a black printed dress, and it had everything I needed in it from the day before so was an easy choice. Did try dress this up a little bit with a bracelet stack, but I decided it was too hot to add a necklace or any more accessories.

Tiered Dresses and Tote Bags

Two simple spring dress outfits, wearing a couple of my tiered dresses from Kmart. Kmart keep coming out with these dresses every season and I keep buying them! Paired with some practical tote bags for busy weekend days.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This was such a warm day! Wanted to put in a little bit of effort for a playdate with a few friends so I dressed up this navy tiered dress with some matchy-matchy turquoise accessories. I thought the turquoise and silver beaded bracelet stack matched nicely with the turquoise tassel earrings, even if the metal on the earrings is gold. Added my studded sandals as it was much too hot for closed in shoes, and my big Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote is perfect for all the water bottles and snacks needed for a playdate!

Why I wore it:

This was another hot day so again I relied on a tiered dress! This midi dress is longer and provided great sun coverage for my legs. We had a busy day with a playdate at the park in the morning, and then an event with the kids in the evening. Went really matchy-matchy with the black accessories against this dress - with the black tote bag, black and gold beaded bracelet and black statement necklace. I don't think it looked Halloweenish, but I do worry about that sometimes when I pair this amber dress with black!

Was a nice outfit for a hot day, although it was really humid in the evening and I wished I'd picked a shorter dress.

Kmart Printed Midi Dresses With Sneakers and Chloe Marcie Bag

Spring kid's birthday parties in the park meant sticking to an easy outfit formula. Floral print midi dresses with sneakers for comfort, my Chloe Marcie shoulder bag for water bottles and some statement earrings to feel a little dressed up!

Why I wore it:

Unsure what kind of weather the day had in store and having to ferry the kids between two different birthday parties in one day meant being prepared for anything! I went with this long sleeved black floral print midi dress as it's nice and light and provided good sun coverage. I appreciated the long sleeves when it started to get cooler in the afternoon too, just before the rain hit. Thankfully the rain waited until after the party was over!

Had a little bit of driving to do so these Adidas Stan Smith were nice comfortable sneakers - and I wasn't the only mum there rocking a dress and sneaker combo. I thought these pink statement earrings were a nice match with the pink florals in the dress, and a good way to make it look like I put in a little effort for the parties!

The Chloe Marcie shoulder bag is perfect for all the essentials plus the kids water bottles - which are of course must-haves at park parties!

Again I went with matchy-matchy earrings! these teal tassel ones go so nicely with the teal background of this floral print midi dress. I considered adding a denim jacket to this but decided not to as it was quite a humid day. At the birthday party in the afternoon though, again just like the weekend before where I wore the dress above, it got quite cloudy and windy. I really wished I'd brought a jacket along!

I felt that I hadn't worn these Kmart chunky sneakers in while so they were overdue a wear - and a nice match for the white floral print on the midi dress. The little brown tab on the back is not quite a match for the Chloe Marcie bag in nut brown, but again I went with this bag because I needed something to store all our water bottles.

Pink and Navy Outfits With Small Chloe Paraty Bag

This has been the spring of pink and blue! Sharing another two more pink and blue outfits with my beautiful small Chloe Paraty bag in periwinkle being the perfect accessory for both outfits, despite the different shades in my clothes.

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day in the school holidays! We had a bunch of errands to run in the morning, and with the sudden warmth spring bought, Cooper had been very badly due for a trim. We dropped him at the groomers before crossing a few more things off the to-do list and buying some presents for upcoming birthday parties. Then we had to head home while I worked from home and the kids entertained themselves for a few hours - luckily they were quiet for most of my meetings that day.

This pink tee has been on frequent repeat lately. I haven't hit 30 wears with it yet but it might be my most worn tee this year, particularly in recent months. I've worn it with printed culotte shorts recently, but it's the first time I've paired it with these navy printed ones that I have hit 30 wears with. Because it was such a hot day, simple shorts, tee and Havaianas was all I needed, especially with all the running around we had to do.

Tried being a little matchy-matchy with the gold hardware on my small Chloe Paraty bag with the gold necklace and gold and black bracelet stack as well.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I often reach for these pink leopard print jeans in spring! There's something so spring-like about the bright pink leopard print, and they are incredibly fun jeans to wear. Blue has to be the colour I wear with them most often, so I thought I'd mix it up a little with this navy graphic tee that has a purple print on it so it was a little different from all the other times I've paired a navy top with these jeans! It was a quiet Sunday, we didn't have too much on, just an appointment for my son, so jeans and a tee was nice and comfortable. And the Chloe Paraty bag fits more than it looks like - had a little library book in there to read while waiting for our appointment.

Again I stuck with my Havaianas - the warm spring weather is making me want to take a break from my sneakers and Converse!

Tiered Kmart Dresses with Scarves, Sneakers And Black Tote Bag

I'm finding these Kmart tiered midi dresses so perfect as the weather starts to warm up in Brisbane! Today I'm sharing two of the pink ones I have in my wardrobe, layered up with cosy scarves and comfortable sneakers for a fun weekend.

Why I wore it:

This was a really sunny but windy day - I did wonder a few times if I should have added a denim jacket to this outfit, but with all the walking around we did I think I would have been too warm. I ended up taking off my scarf to give to my son to wear when he complained he was cold as it got cloudy in the afternoon and he hadn't wanted to wear a jacket. It was perfect weather for kite flying at the Brisbane kite festival though!

Despite the different pastel purple shade of the earrings and the deeper purple in the print on the scarf, I really liked these accessories together! The purple looks great with the fuchsia dress, and this was a nice and colourful outfit for a fun day out at the festival. We bumped into a few friends there too, so many people were there! The boys saw their friends from school and one of my colleagues was there with their family as well, was such a fun day. And of course, lots of kite flying fun! The Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag was perfect for carrying water bottles for everyone, although I did also have the big reusable tote with a blanket in it for the small amount of time we spent sitting down on the grass.

Why I wore it:

This was a slightly less fun day for the kids - they both had the dentist! It was a much warmer day than the day above, so I did regret having such a cosy scarf when we went for a little opshop after the dentist. I'd planned to let the kids pick out a couple of books for being so well behaved at the dentist, but strangely there were no kids books - I think the opshop was in the process of moving things around, and we just couldn't find them with all the Saturday shopping crowd.

Scarf did double up well as a comfort blanket for my not too sure of the dentist son though, to help him be brave in the dentist chair!

Afterward we headed out to Circonomy to have a look for some new office furniture - I've been working from home occasionally before 2020 (since I went back to the office after maternity leave for my now 8 year old son!) and the chair I had at home was starting to show its age. Managed to pick up a super comfortable ergonomic chair for just $9 which impressed my husband so much he got one too, to replace the chair he uses for working from home. Circonomy has a lot of unsold or donated office supplies, and even the kids ended up walking away with some notebooks they could draw in. Was good to have such success there after no luck in the opshop!

Layering up a couple of Kmart midi dresses with jackets and my trusty black ankle boots, for two different days back in winter.

Why I wore it:

This was such a busy day! My son had an appointment in the city in the morning and I was stressing a little about it as we were running late. Thankfully despite the heavy traffic on the way into the city, it wasn't too bad on the way out. After dropping him off at school and racing back home I was only a little late to the first of my back to back meetings for the day while working from home. My colleague had kindly moved the start time a little to accommodate me too which was very helpful.

Felt that this dress was overdue another wear, and I really wanted to try the storm blue of the Balenciaga day bag with the teal of the dress. Knowing it would be cold that morning but not sure what scarf would work with the blue and teal, I went with a cosy leather jacket. I haven't worn my leather jackets much this winter, they are usually a staple, but with our very cold early morning start I was grateful for this jacket. I thought it matched the black ankle boots nicely too.

Why I wore it:

This was a much more relaxed day! I wore a similar outfit, another Kmart midi dress with the same black ankle boots and my Balenciaga day bag again. I chose this bag again as not only do I love pink and blue together, but it's very roomy and I had space for mine and the kids water bottles in it. Only in our rush to get out the door on time to make it to a birthday party, I'd left the kids water bottles behind! Thankfully there was plenty for them to drink at the party, and they had a great time running around playing and being entertained while I sat and chatted to my friends.

I felt that this Mickey Mouse scarf was overdue another wear as it hasn't been worn in a long time! Although it has little red Mickeys on it I thought they were small enough it worked with this bright fuchsia dress, especially when paired with the blue denim jacket and blue Balenciaga day bag. I actually ended up taking the denim jacket off, it was so nice sitting the sun watching the kids play on the playground equipment.
