What I wore:
Dress: thrifted blue Mossman knit jumper
Jeans: Sass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag
Why I wore it:
This outfit was one of those rare ones that looked great in photos but was a bit of a pain to wear. This asymmetrical cropped knit is an opshop find and a beautiful shade of blue and it works so well over dresses. But as it's been ignored over the warmer months I completely forgot that it does ride up a little when it's worn. Not too bad when you're wearing high waisted jeans with it, but it leads to a tricky situation if you're wearing low waisted jeans like this. Especially low rise ones like these Sass and Bide ones. 😂 Thankfully I had a tank layered underneath which kept things covered up, even after the walk to school and wearing my son's backpack lead to the jumper riding up so much!Difficulty in keeping this outfit in place aside I really did like the colours! I thought the pink striped scarf worked wonderfully with the magenta skinny jeans and I felt so happy in this outfit that morning. Less so after the school drop off though!
Last worn: striped scarf, blue knit, magenta skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.
Other ways to wear: striped scarf and monochrome outfit, blue knit over a maxi dress, magenta skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and blue outfit.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.
Reveal: Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC
What I wore:
Scarf: Mickey Mouse printed scarf from Disneyland Paris
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Jeans: thrifted Emerson red skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag
Why I wore it:
It was a bit of a warmer day when I wore this, the weather starting to return to more normal temperatures. I ended up taking this scarf off for the afternoon school run. It was helpful in the morning though with the school drop off, especially when it got cloudy. I couldn't resist adding it to the outfit, with the blue knit and the red skinny jeans the navy and red Mickey Mouse print was a fun matchy-matchy pairing. I really enjoyed wearing this. This slouchy knit, also an opshop find, was a lot better behaved than the first one I wore and it didn't ride up at all.Last worn: cobalt blue knit, Mickey Mouse scarf, red skinny jeans, Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag (above).
Other ways to wear: cobalt blue knit over a maxi dress, Mickey Mouse scarf and dress, red skinny jeans and peplum top, Converse and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and denim jacket.
Perfect for pregnancy: cobalt marle knit in first trimester, Converse in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A blue knit is a fun touch of colour for your winter wardrobe, and it works perfectly paired with brights like red and pink! It's a nice way to make a standard jeans and jumper outfit a little more interesting, by adding some colour.

Both looks are fabulous but dying over that first one. That scarf is so pretty and loving the color palette. It's so weird seeing you starting to dress for warmth while we are almost at summer.

Ahhh, you're vibrant outfits do make me smile Mica! I definitely prefer a longer fit on a jumper, like you say, it can get frustrating having to tug a cropped jumper down throughout the day! Also I love your Mickey Mouse scarf, so subtle but very cute!
ReplyDeleteMusings & More
Yes it was such a frustrating outfit! :( I need to stick with high-rise jeans next time.
Deletecolorful is the best. I really love it when you mix freely mix colors, it's so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteP.S. thanks for inviting me to weekly link roundup, I'm getting spoiled with extra reminder
I love both of these looks--the blue sweaters are so pretty, I especially love the second more slouchy one. And the scarves both look so perfect for pulling both outfits together! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYour colorful jeans outfits are probably my favorite of yours especially with your scarves!

ReplyDeleteThese blue sweaters look fabulous on you! And what great colors of jeans!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the linkup this week! It's good to hear that school is back in session there, gives me hope that ours will be back as well in August when the new schoolyear starts. Not a lot is for sure at the moment.

Love the way you play with colour and layering! You definitely look well prepared for the cooler temperatures. Those scarves are absolutely gorgeous and really add to the overall looks. Your style is always on point!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
I really like the asymmetric knit but it's a shame it is a pain to wear. I have a few bits in my wardrobe that look nice in photos but aren't very practical. You inspired me when you mentioned jumpers over dresses though, I am going to make a note for when it turns cooler here.
ReplyDeletexo Sarah | Oomph London
Yes I always love it over a dress! I need to try harder to remember not to pair it with low-waisted jeans next time, haha!
DeleteThese colour combinations are fabulous Mica! I especially like the blue sweater with the pink skinny jeans!

Oh you rock those colorful skinny jeans so well!!

I like that you opted for bold-colored jeans. They are so fun and cheerful. I like that you popped on scarves, too. Oh, my, on the sweater being a bit short for the jeans, glad you had another shirt on underneath.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I like your blog!
ReplyDeleteI like the combinations of colors in both outfits! You look really nice!
ReplyDeletejointyicroissanty
Both fantastic outfits, Mica! I would put the riding up jumper into the donation bag - I can't abide clothes that don't stay in place! Your colours here in both outfits are just amazing! That blue and pink makes me so happy.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the link-up - I'll be joining you shortly.
I don't mind when I wear it with dresses or high waisted jeans, I just can't wear it with old low rise jeans like those ones haha!
DeleteThat I really like.
ReplyDeleteHi Mica
ReplyDeleteI really liked your colorful looks, or I wasn't a big fan of colors !! I like the two looks especially the scarves and the bag!!
Thanks for the invitation to link up !!

ReplyDeleteI really love the first outfit you are wearing! The blue, pink, and white is such a fun color combo. It reminds me of cotton candy! That is such a beautiful scarf you are wearing! I hope you're having a good week :)

I love both outfits Mica. It's hard when a sweater rides up like that. That's when I tend to wear it over a dress so it doesn't matter.

Fantastic color combinations! I am loving the cobalt blue and bright pink especially!
ReplyDeleteTops that ride up are the worst, I always get rid of them quickly.
ReplyDeleteI am so in love with your vibrant blue sweater, the shade is one of my favourite colours but I find picking up anything in that exact shade hard to come by. You really suit it.

Love the contrasting colours in both outfits, Mica:) LOL on the cropped sweater issue. Girl, you did look great so well worth the effort wearing it:D
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely day/night!
haha yes I just was thankful I'd put a singlet on underneath! Forgot this rides up a little when wearing so it doesn't work with low rise jeans!
DeleteI think one's mood during cold and grey weather gets an instant pick-me-up by wearing colour, so I'm certainly approving of both of your outfits. Tops that ride up do tend are so annoying, so I'm hearing you on the top in the first outfit. Those bright red skinny jeans and that marled blue top are a match made in heaven! xxx
ReplyDeleteI Love the scarfs the first one has to be my fave. I do also love a pop of colour for spring/summer which we are currently in, in the UK. I hope you and your family are doing well Mica : ) xo

I love those pants and the two colors that you have them in!
ReplyDeleteI love these color combos of blue & pink and blue & red, Mica! I never would have known that the first top misbehaved and rode up during the day if you hadn't said anything! haha!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fabulous week!

True, it looks the perfect length in the pictures! :)

Positively love the bright blue sweater with the red. And that darling Disney scarf. Hard to see cold weather clothes, when we are experiencing record summer temps in the triple digits. You are adorable! I struggle so with putting together 2 solid colors. Want to follow your good lead and try this color combo.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could inspire you to give it a try! Enjoy your warm weather :)
DeleteThis looks like a great combo, but sometimes some sweaters could be tricky to wear, here we're just entering to summer days but I already miss my sweater.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I love the combination of colors, it looks great in both examples!

I really love that way that you have styled the pink and the blue in the first few photos, the colours are so vibrant and they look so good on you!
ReplyDeleteI love both of these outfits! Colorful denim is so much fun to wear!
ReplyDeleteI also hate it when sweaters and tops ride up and I have to keep pulling them down throughout the day.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

You look good in both outfits! I love the color blocking style you've got going on. Such happy color combos! I'm sorry about the knit sweater riding up, I think that sucks! Hahah but from the pictures, I wouldn't noticed if you didn't mention it. Hope you and your family are healthy and doing well :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes it looks like it behaves in the pic, haha, but I realised quickly once I was on the way to school that it was going to be a pain :( It works better over dresses or with high waist jeans.
DeleteI love your pairing of bright colors together!
ReplyDeleteNice new Mini mac bag ! and you can fit a lot in there.
