Today I'm continuing the tee wearing and sharing two different ways I recently wore a couple of graphic tees, both with other printed pieces in my outfit.
What I wore:
Skirt: thrifted Billabong 'Don't Think Of It' bikini red printed maxi skirt
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Why I wore it:
This maxi skirt is a great work from home piece as it's so comfortable with the elastic waist! And all that fabric is like having your legs wrapped up in a blanket 😂I wear this red maxi skirt with navy a lot, I really like the combination. This is the first time I've worn this graphic tee with it though, I wasn't sure if the print on the tee would be too much with the print on the skirt. Isolating at home was the perfect time to give this new combination a try, as aside from the postman and some neighbours, oh and my in laws, no one saw this outfit. I really liked it though and I'm happy I tried these two things together!
Last worn: navy graphic tee, red printed maxi skirt, Havaianas.
Other ways to wear: navy graphic tee and shorts, red printed maxi skirt and leather jacket.
What Bag I'd Wear With These Outfits:
If I was still using and enjoying my handbag collection and not worried about transferring germs inside the house whenever I swapped them out, this would be the bag I'd wear with these outfits - the metallic silver goes with everything! What I wore:
Tee: Primark Edinburgh white graphic tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Why I wore it:
This was another opportunity to try something new, with a graphic tee and floral print. I wore this when I was so close to 30 wears of this floral kimono, thought I'd try something a little different and wear it with this Edinburgh graphic tee I picked up on our Europe trip last year. I thought the blue in the graphic would work nicely with the navy kimono. Plus it was a nice way to change it up a little as I've worn this tee and olive jeans together before. Not 100% sure this worked, not one of my favourite outfits but it was fun to try. And with the olive jeans it was comfortable and warm for a quick trip to the post office after helping the kids complete their online learning at home. So good that the schools are back so I don't have to struggle with online learning for a 4 and 5 year old any more!
Last worn: navy floral kimono, Edinburgh graphic tee, olive skinny jeans, Havaianas (above).
Other ways to wear: navy floral kimono worn 30 ways, Edinburgh graphic tee and chambray skirt, olive skinny jeans and leather jacket.
Perfect for pregnancy: navy floral kimono in third trimester.
Graphic Tees Under $50:
How You Can Wear It
A graphic tee is something that looks good with skirts or jeans! To try mix it up a little you can pair a graphic tee with another printed piece in your outfit, like these outfits with the maxi skirt or kimono.Linking up with Monday Runway.
Online learning at that age must have been incredibly difficult, I don´t envy you!
ReplyDeleteIt was a struggle for sure! I know I'm not a good teacher but the kids have done so well with it, and I did manage to work from home moderately okay at the same time, haha!
DeleteThe tee looks great with the maxi skirt!
ReplyDeleteLol, that is what I feel when I wear this kind of skirt, both legs cover with blanket. I love to wear maxi skirt :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
I've also been wearing a lot of graphic tees with prints, Mica! I think graphic tees and prints look great together! I love the addition of the floral kimono in the second outfit. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Mica! It certainly seems winter is here! ;) XXX
ReplyDeleteYes I think bare arms won't be an option for a while with the cold weather being here now!
Deletethis dark t-shirt is great :) i prefer t-shirts without prints :P
ReplyDeleteI just got a new graphic tee yesterday and I can hardly wait to wear it. I hope you have a great weekend Mica!

ReplyDeleteI love the first tee and red skirt combo, it looks so stylish and comfortable, and such an nice change from jeans or sweatpants! Lisa
ReplyDeleteYes maxis are a great alternative, but still super comfortable!
DeleteLove your tee.
ReplyDeleteI live for graphic t-shirts! I have so many in my wardrobe too, I think they add a fun element to even the most basic looks. Hope you are doing well Mica! xx

I really like the second outfit :)
ReplyDeleteGraphic T-shirts can be so much fun to style, although having said that I can't remember the last time I bought one - thanks for the reminder! I hope you have a lovely weekend :)

They are perfect if you have a casual style like I do :)
DeleteCool! I like the Edinburgh one, being from Scotland and it being our fair capital! I clicked your link! Great photos from Scotland and typically wet too lol! So much to do in Edinburgh and some lovely places to eat :-D
ReplyDeleteWell the weather here is cold, wet and windy - just a normal Scottish summer lol!
Yes we feel we did not get to spend enough time there, it was a beautiful city!
DeleteAh yes with the pattern mixing trend a graphic tee with print is a no brainer, both of these looks are super fun and eye catching!

The maxi outfit looks so comfortable. I know what you mean about not loving how some outfits turn out, but you can hardly go wrong with a graphic tee and kimono.
ReplyDeleteThe first combo is very striking. I can see why you have it on active rotation. And I love the contrast of your graphic tee with the floral print of your kimono in the second outfit. My graphic tees haven't been getting as much love lately cause I've joined the no pants club and just want to wear dresses all the time now. Happy weekend Mica!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear the schools are back, Mica! That's great news! I read that western Canada has had similar low numbers for COVID as Australia, so glad to hear that things are opening up for you down there.
ReplyDeleteLove that first outfit - it gets a big YES from me. With the second outfit, the jeans feel discordant to me. I think that the tee goes great with the kimono (the blues are complementary), but I'd like to see a trouser that picks up those blues/purples/pinks. The olive green doesn't seem quite right.
However, as you say, this is the perfect time to experiment and try out things you might not normally feel confident enough to wear in public. Well done! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my dear!
It's good to hear you are having low case numbers too! :)
DeleteI have worn this kimono with pink pants and I did like it a lot better! A great idea! :)
Both ways you styled graphic t-shirts is lovely. I love the print on the first one, so dreamy. That red skirt is a wonderful contrast for that t-shirt. The second look is lovely as well. I also like how you styled the second one with jeans and a cardigan. You look chic and sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat long skirt is the kind of skirt I want to learn to sew myself!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I could sew I'd make more like it too! :)
DeleteI really like a tee with a mixi or mini skirt. Looks super cute!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great day!

I love the red and navy combo, Mica, and that second outfit totally worked! You look great in both. Graphic tees are the best:D
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome weekend!
I'm always a little nervous about combining things like this because I'm worried I'll clash but I love the second look, so cute. And that kimono is beautiful! x

Thank you so much Mica!! It's great that you liked the cactus paintings I made to enliven our dining zone :) I framed them with greyed-brown frames so that they stand out of the wall but are not too dark, so they keep the light shades of the paintings to enliven the zone :) Can't wait to show you more DIY ideas ;) Happy weekend! These are such great ways to style graphic tees! I love the navy tee with the red skirt. Such a classic color combination! I definitely need to buy more graphic tees because quarantine has really shown me that my comfy clothes aren't very stylish or interesting...

Comfort always wins over style for me!
DeleteMaybe I need to try the maxi skirt thing for working at home--it sounds divine! And it's starting to get a little warm for leggings. Sadly, I only have one maxi dress though.
ReplyDeletePerfect opportunity to outfit repeat it when noone can see what you're wearing all day, haha!
DeleteLove the tee with the maxi skirt!
ReplyDeletePerfect! You look fab in both outfits, loving the first one!

The dark blue graphic T is just perfect with that beautiful red skirt! Such an easy look but they work so well together (and I do love that T-shirt - what a neat graphic). I can see what you mean about the second look and I think maybe it's because that kimono just asks for something with a bit more …. color? ….. pattern? Maybe a white and navy horizontal-striped graphic T? Why don't they make more graphic T's with background prints? It's not a bad look but I agree it needs something a bit different under the kimono to make it really pop. And I love that little silver MAC bag! Metallics (bronze is my go-to) are just so versatile in what you can carry them with, aren't they?

I absolutely love the graphic tee and the kimono outfit!!!! Love it! On another note, I hear you about the online learning struggles. My girls are a bit older and the 13 year old is managing it okay but my 10 year old still needs support and working full-time, it's a tough balance. On the other hand, being an early learning teacher, it's soooooo hard to give them online learning and playful learning opportunities when of course parents need to help, but they themselves are busy working. We are all struggling so I am so happy to hear that you are returning to school. Fingers crossed we get to in September when we come back from summer holidays.
ReplyDeleteHope that it is safe for your schools to reopen soon! It's so hard juggling learning at home with working from home, hang in there!
DeleteI love your maxi skirt and tee. As a matter of fact, I'm wearing a maxi skirt today and have decided they're more comfortable than pants. I think yours looks great with the navy tee.

I love the graphic tee with the print maxi skirt, I think that combo worked well! We are sending Violet back to her daycare/preschool on Wednesday, which will be a relief--I start back at work tomorrow and it is really hard to get stuff done with her here. At least Jona can occupy himself with his legos!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear you are back at work! That must be a relief for you!
DeleteI actually really like both outfits! The first one is my favorite though. It's such a fun color combination.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great weekend!
