Navy Tops, Orange Skirts and Red Bag Outfits

Two different orange skirt outfits, both featuring a little red bag and a navy tank.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold and pastel blue beaded necklace with grey string
Tank: Kmart navy ribbed tank
Skirt: thrifted Kmart rust button up linen blend skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red

Why I wore it:

Wore this for the first official day of my summer leave. Celebrated by taking the kids along to a cookie decorating class - they had a bunch of fun, and I had a good time chatting to my friend as our kids enjoyed their cookie playdate! Also ran a few errands picking up a couple last minute gifts, as this was back earlier in December.

I really like navy and orange together, so was eager to try this navy tank with the rust button up skirt. I really liked the combination! The Converse were a practical choice for a bit of driving around, and I thought the little red bag would be a fun pop against the rust skirt. I have been wearing this bag a lot lately! I really liked this outfit.

Last worn: navy tank, statement necklace, rust skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff studded saddle bag.

My Red Handbag Collection:

What I wore:

Necklace: Oxfam Noah's Ark green red beaded necklace
TankCle The Label Amelia tank in indigo
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
ShoesRebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag

Why I wore it:

This outfit is very similar to the one above, but I didn't love it quite as much. Still a fun combination of that navy, orange and red trio though.

Again it was a simple navy tank with an orange skirt, this lovely thrifted maxi skirt that is super light for hot days, which this day certainly was! I had the little red bag from the night before, when we had gone out to White Christmas event at MovieWorld, as we stayed overnight at my parents on the coast instead of driving back home. I thought it would be fun with the little red bag and orange skirt, and since we had been at a Christmas event the night before, a little red and green necklace for a festive touch. The neutral studded sandals were what I'd worn the night before too, to keep packing light.

We unfortunately had to leave early in the morning, having to get back home for a playdate, so we didn't stay at my parents long.

Last worn: navy tank, red and green bib necklace, orange maxi skirt, studded sandals, red micro Avery bag.

Tiered Sundresses and Red Rebecca Minkoff Studded Saddle Bag

Hope you had a lovely Christmas! We thankfully were safe from any major damage from the storms.

Today, sharing more of my tiered printed sundress outfits again. for some very hot summer days in Brisbane! I added a little red to both of these with my Rebecca Minkoff Studded Saddle bag, that I have been wearing so much recently.

What I wore:

Earrings: thrifted red dinosaur skeleton earrings
Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
Dress: Kmart strappy tiered sundress in watercolour blue and blush print
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual plus plus Roie Designs beaded bracelets
BagRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red

Why I wore it:

I really like this navy and blush print Kmart sundress, it was a Kmart clearance find years ago, for just $2! I decided to try it with a little bit of red to brighten it up even more, for a day with the school run, working from home, and errands after school pick up. I matched the red saddle bag with my little red dino skeleton earrings and a little red beaded bracelet. Even though they are all different shades of red, I liked the additions, especially with the blue background of the dress.

My navy and pink Havaianas match the print of this dress so well, and they were the best choice for such a hot and humid day!

Last worn: dino earrings, circle necklacenavy tiered sundress, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff studded saddle bag.

30 Ways to Wear: Red Studded Saddle Bag

What I wore:

Earrings: Colette Ciao Bella glitter ball drop earrings
Necklace: Ruby Olive Art series long striped pod necklace
Dress: thrifted peach and white floral print tiered sundress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red

Why I wore it:

This was a very, very humid day! My sister was over and we spent the morning finishing off our Christmas shopping, before heading out to the church Christmas festival and carols in the afternoon. This relaxed tiered sundress was the perfect light dress to wear, although I did get a little sunburnt from lack of shoulder coverage at the festival in the afternoon.

With the pretty orange pastel palm print on the dress, I thought this red saddle bag would be a good combination. And as it was a Christmas event I added the gold bauble earrings and a tiny amount of green with this fun multi coloured beaded necklace.

Picked my comfortable sneakers as there was a lot of walking around to do at the shops and then later at the event, checking out all the stalls and going on a few of the rides with the kids.

Colourful Shorts and Cover Ups With White Tees and Converse

Two outfits using the same tried and true outfit formula, with some new pieces I recently scored at the opshop. Colourful shorts, white tees and little crossbody bags with these printed cover ups I thrifted for just $1 each!

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label leopard print cover up with waist tie
Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
TeeAtmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Shorts: thrifted pastel pink cotton shorts
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Jean MAC bag in fig

Why I wore it:

I like pink and leopard print together, so I added a couple different shades of pink in this outfit to complement the printed cover up! These pastel pink shorts haven't been worn in a while, and with the white tee and neutral leopard print cover up it needed just a little extra colour. The Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody bag in fig pink was a good way to add more colour. even thought the shades of pink are different, blush goes with everything really!

Wore this for a simple working from home day, with the school run and a playdate in the park after school.

Last worn: leopard print cover up, statement necklace, white tee, blush shorts, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff jean MAC.

Other ways to wearleopard print cover up with teal, white tee and midi skirt, blush shorts and navy, white Converse and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff jean MAC and floral dress.

TeeCotton On The One Deep V tee in marle nep white body black
Shorts: thrifted red denim shorts
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

Why I wore it:

Another comfortable shorts and tee outfit with a pretty cover up. I liked the bolder colours in this outfit, it was a little more matchy-matchy with the dark floral print matching the red of the denim shorts and the burgundy crossbody bag. And of course plain white tees go with everything! Even added a black chain necklace to match the black background of the floral cover up.

Wore my white Converse again - it was another hot weekend and we had a bunch of errands to run. Converse are good for a lot of driving around.

Last worn: floral cover up, black necklace, white tee, red denim shorts, white Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag.

Pink Tiered Dresses And Stella McCartney Falabella Bag

Wearing two pretty pink tiered midi dresses, for two different events lately. One more formal the other more casual. Wearing my recently thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella bag with both dresses too, black and pink always work!

What I wore:

Earrings: silver spiral earrings
Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Orange Sherbet Zoe tiered dress in geranium print pink
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage charm bracelet
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

It was a day threatening to storm and rain so I added little black ankle boots to this pink and red floral print Orange Sherbet tiered midi dress. I picked it up at the preloved fashion markets this year and I'm so glad I did, I love it! With the black boots, the black Stella McCartney Falabella seemed like a good matchy-matchy choice, and it also had plenty of room for my essentials, some snacks, and my camera. We had an awards ceremony to attend for my son. I'm being vague for privacy reasons, but it was a very fancy ceremony and I'm very proud of him! It was so good to see his joy as he was celebrated in front of so many people.

Last worn: silver necklace, Orange Sherbet dress, black ankle boots, Stella McCartney Falabella.

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart lilac statement ball drop earrings
Necklace: thrifted purple wooden bead statement necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Another pink tiered midi dress, again with my Stella McCartney Falabella bag. I love this bag as it works with everything! Wore this for a much more casual event, a kids birthday party. It was a lot of fun, but such a hot day. I was very thankful for this dress which catches the breeze so nicely, and the tiered loose style makes it comfortable in the heat. I did try dress it up a little with the matchy-matchy purple necklace and statement earrings, but still wore my comfortable Havaianas as it was just a nice relaxed party with friends. My kids kept talking about how it was the best party ever, they had a blast!

Last worn: lilac earrings, pastel necklace, pink tiered dress, Havaianas, Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wear: pink tiered dress and denim jacket, Stella McCartney Falabella bag in the office.

Black Tops, Colourful Denim Shorts And Printed Dusters

Adding some colourful printed cover ups over some bright denim shorts and black tops outfits. Another two outfits following a similar outfit formula, but that look really different with the different colour schemes. I do love and easy outfit formula for getting dressed in the morning!

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
Tank: lace bib black swing tank from mum's wardrobe
ShortsNobody Denim mustard short shorts
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs labradorite bracelets
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This was a fun day! It was a beautiful spring day and there was a science event on at the library that the kids and I went to. Part of it was an outdoor event so I knew I'd need a bit of shoulder coverage with this black tank. The green duster was perfect. I really like wearing yellow, especially mustard, with this green floral duster, so the mustard denim shorts were a fun choice. Kept everything else neutral and matchy-matchy with the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag and the black Converse to match the lace detail tank.

With the lace detail along the neckline adding enough interest, I decided not to add a necklace to this outfit and just keep it really simple. Did add a couple of bracelets though.

Last worn: green floral duster, black lace tank, mustard denim shorts, black Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to weargreen floral duster and jeans, black lace tank and jeans, mustard denim shorts and navy, black Converse and skirt, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Tee: thrifted Mix Apparel black marle tee
Shorts: thrifted red denim shorts
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus black and red beaded bracelets
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

I really loved this bright tropical print kimono with the red denim Bermuda shorts. Although the red in the print is a brighter shade than those of the shorts I thought they were really fun together! The black tee balanced it out nicely with all the colour from the tropical print, red shorts and blue Converse. And it matched the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag I was wearing yet again.

The only thing I disliked about this outfit was the necklace. I was having a hard time finding a good one to pair with the space dye print of the tee and the tropical print cover up, so I went with this feather tassel one, but it kind of gets lost a little in the black tee. I think a brighter necklace would have worked better. I was in a rush that morning as usual though and this seemed like a good option in a hurry, as I had to get the kids to school then worked from home before a playdate after school pickup in the afternoon.

Last worn: tropical print tassel cover up, feather necklace, black space dye tee, red Bermuda denim shorts, blue Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to weartropical print tassel cover up and skirt, black space dye tee and printed jeans, red Bermuda denim shorts with navy, blue Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and leopard print.

What I Bought In November And How I've Worn It

My shopping usually slows down near the end of the year as I focus on finishing off my Christmas shopping, but I got lucky at the opshop in November and picked up two cute coverups for myself while looking for some books and clothes for the kids.

What I Bought:

  • thrifted no label leopard print cover up with waist tie
  • thrifted Shein black floral print cover up

These were complete impulse buys. I'm always on the look out for more kimono jackets and cover ups to add to my wardrobe when opshopping! I have a lot of basic shorts and tees and these are the perfect topper pieces to provide a bit of sun protection without overheating. And for $1 each from my favourite opshop I didn't even hesitate to buy them.

How I've Worn It:

With only buying two pieces this month, and pieces that I know work so well in my wardrobe, it was easy to hit my goal of wearing each of these items twice in the month I bought them. I do have a few floral print cover ups, and a dark floral print cover up already, so it was maybe not the most thought out buy, but the leopard print one is super soft and a completely different print from anything else I have in my wardrobe. Happy with both of these buys!

Plain Tees and Leopard Print With Falabella Bag

Wearing a couple of thrifted tees with some leopard print pieces, I really have been loving leopard print this spring!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Target crew neck tee washed coral red
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Everything in this outfit except the Havaianas was an opshop find! Although the necklace is navy and the Falabella bag is black I thought they were nice accessories with the leopard print midi skirt and the coral tee. I really like red and leopard together!

Easy outfit for a hot day, working from home and doing the school run.

Last wornnavy flat beaded necklace, leopard print midi skirt, Havaianas, Stella McCartney Falabella. First time I've worn the tee as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearleopard print midi skirt with navy, Stella McCartney Falabella and shorts.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Simple jeans and tee outfit for a busy weekend with a bit of Christmas shopping and a few errands. I like this black tee with the pink leopard print jeans, I've tried a lot with these jeans, as they are nearly at 30 wears, but plain tees like this are always my favourite. I went a little matchy-matchy with the blush necklace to match the print and the black Falabella bag with the black tee.

Last worn: black H&M tee, blush wooden necklace, pink leopard jeans, black Havaianas, Stella McCartney Falabella (above).

Other ways to wearblack H&M tee and red, pink leopard jeans and graphic tee, Stella McCartney Falabella and skirt.

Printed Skirts With Converse, Falabella And Black Tees For The Office | Weekday Wear Link Up

Sharing another set of two very similar outfits for the office for today's Weekday Wear Link Up. Both feature black tees, printed skirts, Converse, and my newly thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
Tee: thrifted Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in black
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

So many new purchases in one outfit! While I focus on pieces that work with other items in my wardrobe when I'm shopping, it's always a thril when I thrift pieces that work together to create a full outfit all on their own! This leopard printmidi skirt was a must as soon as I saw it on the rack - I love the tassels and it's such a great length for me, almost a maxi. As it was a quiet day at my desk it was easily dressed down with the black tee and my Converse sneakers. The Stella McCartney Falabella worked so well in this outfit too, it's a great bag for work!

The necklace is not new but instead a reincarnation of an older one I had. When I thrifted it, it was a beautiful string of faux pearl beads all knotted together on faux suede and the thread just kept splitting and breaking until eventually I couldn't repair it any more. My friend designs and makes jewellery so she helped me get some supplies (just a simple cord this time) to recreate it with the beads I had, and I just copied it as closely as I could to the original necklace. I think I did well even if it's taken me months to getting around to remaking this!

Last worn: black teebeaded necklaceConverse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag. First time I've worn the leopard print skirt as is is a recent thrift find.

Other ways to wear: black tee and shortsConverse and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag with green.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester..

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted wooden yellow tassel necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee
Skirt: Garfunkle Australia pleated print skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This outfit was disappointing. I copied the outfit formula for the one above almost exactly, with a different black thrifted tee, the Converse and the Stella McCartney Falabella bag again. I even added another statement necklace, this cheerful yellow tassel one. This yellow and white and black printed pleated skirt used to be an office staple for me, but I just really wasn't enjoying it on this day. It was a bit breezy and the a-line shape kept getting caught in the breeze in the worst ways and had me worrying about and holding the hem quite a bit. It's a shame as I really loved this skirt in the past, but it is in the donate bag now. Even though I haven't hit 30 wears with it I'm just really not enjoying wearing it any more, and it's better to go to a new home with someone who will love it.

Last worn: black H&M tee, yellow tassel necklacepleated printed skirt, Converse (above), Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Red Denim, Stripes, Sneakers and Black Bags

Two different red denim outfits for spring in Brisbane - with the slightly varying temperatures, the first one is simply shorts and a tee and the second one I needed the warmth of jeans and an extra layer. Both feature stripes with the red denim, because stripes and denim always work so well together no matter the colour of the denim!

What I wore:

Tee: thrifted navy stripe Coca-Cola logo tee
Shorts: thrifted red denim shorts
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a regular work from home day, with a physio session at lunch time. As it was such a warm day, shorts and a tee were all I needed. I thought these thrifted red shorts would work well with the also thrifted Coca-Cola logo tee. Even if the shades of red are slightly different, they were close enough to make my matchy-matchy self happy.

It was the school holidays so didn't even have to do the school run - and hubby had the kids out most of the day so I had a really productive day. Shorts and a tee was just perfect for working from home and not having to worry about changing my outfit for physio.

Last worn: Coca-Cola tee, red denim shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag.

Other ways to wearCoca-Cola tee and skirt, red denim shorts and plain tee, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and dress.

What I wore:

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: Ruby Olive Art series long striped pod necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Jeans: thrifted Emerson red skinny jeans
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! I was working from home in the morning, and had a couple of appointments in the afternoon after picking up the kids from school. I knew I'd need a confidence boosting pop of colour, so these red jeans paired with the colourful beaded necklace were perfect! I kept the rest of the outfit neutral, with the silver tank, black and white striped cardigan and my big black Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.

Taking the kids to the doctors after school pick up requires a lot of books and snacks, the big tote bag was definitely needed!

Printed Tanks And Colourful Blazers With Black Skinny Jeans And Tote Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

Continuing to take advantage of my very relaxed office dress codes with more skinny jeans and Converse outfits! Did try dress these outfits up a little with the blazers, and a printed tank that feels a bit more formal than a tee. Easy office outfit formula for today's Weekday Wear Link Up.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Nadine 3/4 sleeve dusky pink blazer
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Florence print long line tank
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

I don't often wear an outfit full of neutrals, but with the black skinny jeans and brown and black printed tank, the blush blazer felt like such a nice topper without being overly bright. The blush and wood bead necklace coordinated so nicely with the blazer too.

I've been doing a major reorganisation of my wardrobe recently, and this printed tank is one I considered donating as I just don't reach for it often. After wearing it though I've realised how much I love it, so it's a keeper and you can expect to see it in frequent rotation!

Last worn: blush blazer, blush necklace, printed tank, Nobody Denim Siren jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote.

Other ways to wearblush blazer and dressprinted tank and pencil skirt, Nobody Denim Siren jeans, Converse and midi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote and dress.

Perfect for pregnancy: blush blazer in third trimester, printed tank in third trimesterConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: Glassons orange jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted wood and marble bead thrifted necklace with white string
Tank: Jeanswest Elissa leaf print tank
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

Unlike the muted colours of the first outfit, I added a lot of colour to this! The red and blue fern print tank is one of my favourites, and I thought I'd just try it with the orange blazer, for something different. Ebben though there are no similarities with the colours in the print and the bright orange of the blazer, I really liked this!

Again the basics of the outfit were the same, following the same outfit formula as the first outfit above. Another pair of black skinny jeans, my trusty Converse again, and my Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote. I even added a neutral necklace with this too, to help balance out the colour of the bright tank and blazer together.

Last worn: orange blazer, fern print tank, beaded necklace, faded black skinny jeans, Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag (above).

Other ways to wearorange blazer and grey dress, fern print tank and skirt, faded black skinny jeans and jumper, Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag and dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.
