Blue Knit Jumpers With Scarves and Black Jeans

Two more knit jumper outfits, with black skinny jeans and scarves. One I wore to work from home, the other I wore in the office.

What I wore:

ScarfASOS crinkle oversized leopard print scarf
Jumper: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star in hot tea
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

I wore this to work from home back in the holidays. I logged off in the afternoon to take the kids to a STEM class at the library, they really loved it! It was a colder day so I wanted to be warm, and this blue marle jumper was due another wear. It's a piece I thrifted a few years ago, and I've gotten more than 30 wears out of it, definitely a good opshop buy!

I wanted to skip wearing a jacket, but still be warm, so I added this leopard print scarf. And the brown Converse were an attempt to be a bit matchy-matchy, even though they are a different shade of brown from the leopard print in the scarf. I added more colour with the purple Chloe Paraty bag, and also picked it as it fits all my essentials plus a couple of water bottles, perfect for when we went out in the afternoon.

Last worn: blue marle jumper, leopard print scarf, skinny jeans, brown Converse, purple Chloe Paraty bag.

Other ways to wearblue marle jumper worn 30 ways, leopard print scarf and tee, skinny jeans and graphic tee, brown Converse and dress, purple Chloe Paraty bag and skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyblue jumper in first trimester

What I wore:

Jacket: Kmart Anko full length oversized denim trench coat
ScarfJeanswest Lucille golden yellow scarf
Jumper: thrifted blue Kmart stitch detail knit
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie regular shoulder bag in Luna blue

Why I wore it:

This blue knit seam detail jumper is also an opshop find, although I haven't hit 30 wears with it! I do enjoy wearing it and just bought a similar one in pink in the Kmart clearance recently. Again I wore it with black jeans, and instead of a printed scarf I wore this bright yellow one. With the blue jumper, blue denim trench coat, and Luna blue Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag, I felt like I needed an extra colour in this outfit to brighten it up a bit. And blue and yellow look so good together.

Even with the jumper and the jeans and the denim trench and scarf it was a bit chilly, one of those really cold winter days. I was glad to reach the office that morning!

Last worn: denim trench, yellow scarf, blue seam detail jumper, Nobody Denim Siren jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Edie shoulder bag.

Other ways to weardenim trench and dress, yellow scarf and LBD, blue seam detail jumper and pink jeans, Nobody Denim Siren jeans and blazer, Adidas Superstar sneakers and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff Edie shoulder bag and skirt.

What I Bought In June & July And How I've Worn It

In what is quickly becoming a common refrain on the blog, I wasn't expecting to buy anything but then..... I bought a few things this month and last month.

What I Bought in June:

  • Kisschasy Hymns for the Nonbeliever 2025 tour band tee
  • thrifted Suzanne Grae basics red tee
  • thrifted Iris Maxi the Label purple floral tiered mini dress
  • thrifted blue knotted beaded necklace
  • thrifted grey and white beaded necklace

What I Bought In July:

  • thrifted Target cotton and modal relaxed red tee
  • thrifted Country Road grey crew neck tee
  • thrifted Mossimo black and white striped v-neck tee
  • thrifted Dotti leopard print long cardigan
  • thrifted Gypsy Mermaid blue tulip hem wrap skirt
  • thrifted Kmart tiered little black dress
  • thrifted Louenhide metallic embossed sandals

Why I Bought It:

I picked up a couple of things at the end of June (the red tee, purple floral dress and necklaces), at the opshop after having a quick browse after dropping off some donations. As I'd bought them near the end of the month and it was winter school holidays, I didn't have the time to get a post together. But as you can see from the photos below, I did manage to wear everything at least twice in the month I bought it. That's my goal with everything I buy, to wear it twice in the month I buy it. It's my way of making sure I'm actually buying things that work with my wardrobe and are suitable for my lifestyle, after feeling a little frustrated with all the NWT items I found hanging in my wardrobe when I did a big clear out years ago.

However, in July I did not manage to hit my goal of wearing everything twice! Mostly because the sandals weren't really geared for the weather. While Brisbane winters aren't that cold, I definitely won't be wearing the sandals I bought until spring at least!

While June's purchases were still impulse buys, just browsing the opshop after dropping stuff off, July's purchases were a result of emotional shopping for sure! I turned to retail therapy and stopped by the opshop just to shop. The "fill a bag for $5" sale hooked me and I walked away with clothes and sandals for me, clothes for the kids and books for all of us as well. Definitely a bargain, but not anything I was really needing. Still, I tried to really consider everything I put in my bag to make sure it would work for me. I am happy with everything I bought as I managed to wear everything at least twice except for the sandals. The Kmart knit was another impulse buy just because I saw it in store, near the checkouts, and I didn't have a pink knit! I do have a very similar one in blue I thrifted a while back, but I really liked the berry pink colour. And with the weather in Brisbane recently, it was definitely worn more than twice.

How I've Worn It:

I've still spent less on fashion this year than last year, but I do feel I've been buying a lot lately. When my favourite opshop has clothes for $1 though it's easy to justify a little retail therapy - it definitely doesn't break the budget!

Floral Dresses, Denim Jackets and Balenciaga Bags

Wearing some floral dresses, layered up for Brisbane's current winter weather with denim jackets, leggings, and ankle boots. Adding more colour to the outfits with some Balenciaga bags.

What I wore:

Jacket: Anko Kmart mid wash denim jacket
EarringsAna Luisa 'Olivia' tassel earrings in pink
DressJaase Semika mini smock dress in amor print mandarin dollar dress
ShoesAtmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit, I wanted something comfortable and warm but also colourful for watching my son compete in the afternoon. With the pink in the floral print of this Jaase Semika mini dress, I added the pink tassel earrings and then more pink with the sorbet Balenciaga city bag. I needed a big bag for fitting my camera inside as well as a book and all my usual essentials. While the pink on the sorbet Balenciaga city bag and the pastel pink tassels on the earrings don't match and don't match the pink in the floral print of the dress, I liked all the shades of pink with this. We were indoors most of the afternoon so the denim jacket was the only layer I needed.

Last worn: pink tassel earrings, denim jacket, Jaase Semika floral mini dress, tan ankle boots, sorbet pink Balenciaga city bag.

Other ways to weardenim jacket and skirt, Jaase Semika floral mini dress and trench coat, tan ankle boots and midi dress, sorbet pink Balenciaga city bag worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyBalenciaga sorbet pink city bag at 37 weeks.

What I wore:

Jacket: Kmart Anko full length oversized denim trench coat
Earrings: Colette purple acrylic flower statement earrings
Dress: thrifted Iris Maxi the Label purple floral tiered mini dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
BagBalenciaga raisin purple 2009 giant silver G21 hardware work bag

Why I wore it:

This was a bit of a calmer day! Again I wanted to try wearing a summer floral dress in winter - this one is a recent opshop find! I couldn't pass it up for just $1 at the opshop, although I did worry a few times during this day that it was a little short. I chose to wear the long denim trench coat made me feel a little more confident that the dress wasn't too short, as the long trench covers everything. I ended up really liking this outfit.

I went all matchy-matchy with the purple flower earrings and purple Balenciaga work bag. I liked the statement earrings for video calls as I worked from home, and the large Balenciaga work bag was perfect for all the essentials and still had a lot of space for my current book so I could read in the afternoon as the kids had a dentist appointment.

30 Ways To Wear: Charcoal Grey Tunic Tee

After hitting 31 wears with this grey tunic tee, it was definitely time to put together a post sharing 30 ways I've worn it.

30 Ways To Wear: Grey Tunic Tee

I picked up this tee from the opshop all the way back in August 2019. It was such a bargain, and so super soft. I'm not sure how much it was worn before I thrifted it, but it made it to 31 wears in my wardrobe. It will not get any more wears though unfortunately as although it's super soft and comfortable to wear, the fabric has some elastane in it. And over the years as I've worn this tee, the elastane has stretched out a bit. It's started to lose its shape and is showing its age, so it's not something I'm going to be able to achieve any more wears from unfortunately. It's getting a bit sheer with the elastane fading and stretching so it won't be staying in my wardrobe, and will be going into fabric recycling.

Cost Per Wear

At 31 wears over 6 years of owning this tee, I've definitely gotten good value for money. It was one of 9 pieces I got in the "fill a bag for $5" sale so it was technically just 55 cents. And so it works out to 1.7 cents a wear. Amazing for the budget, and also good for the environment that I could give this tee over 30 wears before retiring it.

Here's my favourite ways I've worn this grey tunic tee over the years.

Grey Tee With Green

Obviously, a grey tee goes with everything! I have called out a few different colours in these outfit groupings as I see I wear it with some colours more than others, and green is one of those colours I like wearing with neutrals like grey.

Grey Tee With Pink

I like a pop of pink with grey, it really stands out! The grey tee works with little pieces of pink like that bag or the scarf, or more pink like those jeans.

Grey Tee In Monochromatic Outfits

As well as wearing this grey tee with bright colours, I like to wear it with other neutral pieces like blacks and whites and more greys, to create nice monochromatic outfits. I do often add an extra pop of colour with these outfits, as you can see from the pink bags and the blue bag and scarf.

Grey Tee With Red

Another great colour pairing with grey is red, red really pops against the neutral grey tee.

Grey Tee And Winter Layers

A good basic plain grey tee like this is so good for layering with in winter. I love how it goes with everything so I can add printed or colourful scarves and cosy cardigans, blazers or jackets.

Grey Tee And Prints

Like you can see with the printed scarves above, a plain grey tee works well with larger printed pieces like the maxi skirts and the chevron print jeans.

Grey Tee and Shorts

While I've shared some layered outfits above you can't beat the simplicity of a shorts and tee outfit for warmer weather, and of course a grey tee works with any style and colour of shorts, like in each of these 4 outfits.

Grey Tee and Skirts

Another easy outfit formula, grey tee and a skirt. Much like the shorts, each of these skirts is very different, but a basic grey tee works with any style of skirt.

Grey Tee and Printed Cover Ups

The final set of outfits I want to share with this grey tee is one of my favourite ways to wear it. A plain grey tee and colourful fun printed toppers is a formula I often repeat. The colour and print never clashes with the basic grey.

I'm sad this tee has to be retired, but it was getting too sheer and shapeless with the faded elastane. It's not the first soft and stretchy tee I've had to let go of because the fabric hasn't stood the test of time sadly. It's definitely made me consider the fabric of what I'm buying in stores. Of course if I see a super soft and stretch tee in the opshop I won't pass it up, but if I see a new tee in store with elastane in it, it's not something I'm going to buy new as I know it will be unlikely to stay in good enough condition for me to get good value from the purchase.

It was such a staple in my wardrobe, as you can see in the photos it really worked in every outfit, and a grey tee is something I'll always frequently reach for. Just not this one any more.

Maxi Skirts and Denim Jackets

Blue tees, denim jackets and maxi skirts for Brisbane winter days.

What I wore:

Jacket: Anko Kmart mid wash denim jacket
EarringsColette silver light twist hoop earrings
Necklace: mixed metal hammered pendant necklace
Tee: Anko Kmart short sleeve slub v-neck tee in blu marine
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Nice and colourful with this blue tee, ochre orange maxi skirt, and more blue with the denim jacket and deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag. I really liked the accessories with this outfit, the twist hoop earrings go so nicely with the mixed metal pendant necklace.

It was a little chilly for the school run so this denim jacket was a great layer over this maxi skirt and tee outfit. I wear blue with this maxi skirt often, I really like the colour combination! And it was nice and comfortable for working from home, and doing the school run. I picked up some of my sons friends from school the afternoon for a playdate too.

Last worn: denim jacket, silver earrings, blue tee, mixed metal necklace, ochre maxi skirt, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to weardenim jacket and grey tee, blue tee with red, ochre maxi skirt and knit, Adidas Superstar sneakers and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and pencil skirt.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
Earrings: Colette white pearl beaded gum leaf tassel earrings
Tee: thrifted Marcs navy lurex detail foil tee
Skirtno label cream and brown floral print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Another maxi skirt, blue tee and denim jacket outfit for another day of working from home. As well as also doing the school run, I took the kids to sports in the evening. I did kind of wish I'd worn a scarf with this as well in the evening! The denim jacket is great and usually keeps me warm, but it was quite a chilly night.

This was perfect for during the day though, my oldest had a special excursion so I had to drop him off for that in the morning. He had such a good day and did really well in the presentation in the afternoon - I'm proud of him! I needed a bag for all my essentials plus my camera for taking photos at his presentation, so I went with this purple Chloe Paraty. Like the orange maxi skirt, I like purple and blue together so I often wear this with blue. It's the first time I've worn it with this brown floral print maxi skirt and I really liked the deep purple with the brown and cream. I'm definitely going to have to wear them together again.

I skipped a necklace and just wore a statement pair of earrings with this outfit as I felt the subtle sparkle on the tee was enough interest that I didn't need to add a necklace. It never shows up too well in photos though!

Last worn: gold leaf earrings, moto denim jacket, navy sparkle tee, brown floral print maxi skirt, white Converse, Chloe purple Paraty bag.

Other ways to wearmoto denim jacket and dress, navy sparkle tee and jeans, brown floral print maxi skirt and grey tee, white Converse and shorts, Chloe purple Paraty bag and dress.

Pink Jeans, Grey Tees and Cocoon Cardigans

Two pink jeans and grey tee outfits for back in autumn, when the milder weather meant I just needed to layer with these cocoon cardigans. Both of them are opshop finds!

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Dotti black cocoon cape cardigan
Necklace: Colette marble and gold pendant drop long necklace
Tee: Anko Kmart short sleeve slub v-neck tee in lead grey
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star in pink foam
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Wore this to volunteer at my local polling place for Election day, serving up sausages at the sausage sizzle! If you're not Australian you might not know most polling places have a BBQ, maybe even some baking, to fundraise for community groups. It was my first time volunteering on election day, although obviously not my first sausage sizzle, and it went well! Was good to contribute to democracy sausages!

I was very conscious I didn't want to dress in any of the political party colours but with the grey tee and the black cocoon cardigan this outfit needed a little colour. These magenta Sass and Bide jeans were the perfect pop. I added a little matching magenta with the marble necklace, and another shade of pink with the Converse. I really liked how this outfit came together, although I ended up taking the knit off quite early in the morning as it turned into a really warm day.

Last worn: black cocoon cardigan, marble necklace, grey tee, magenta jeans, pink Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to wearblack cocoon cardigan and white jeans, grey tee and maxi skirt, magenta jeans with blue, pink Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and dress.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label black and white leopard print cocoon cardigan
NecklaceRoie Designs coral beaded tassel necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagChloe Paddington in 2007 Brun

Why I wore it:

This was not as fun a day! I was quite busy as Cooper had surgery so I had to take him to the vets and pick him up afterwards. Along with this the kids had school, sports in the evening and I was also working from home. Thankfully the surgery went well! I dressed comfortably, jeans and tee is a go-to for working from home in cooler weather, and the pink leopard print cocoon cardigan kept me cosy. Just like the outfit above, I went with pink jeans again to add a little more colour. These are an opshop find, and although they are a lighter pink, a grey tee goes with everything!

I wore my Chloe Paddington bag again, I've been carrying it a lot lately, and with such a busy day I didn't want the hassle of changing bags so just kept using this one, although when juggling Cooper in my arms I did wish I'd picked a lighter bag, maybe a crossbody one!

Last worn: leopard print cardigan, beaded tassel necklace, grey tunic tee, pink skinny jeans, white Converse, Chloe Paddington bag.

Other ways to wearleopard print cardigan with purplegrey tunic tee and shorts, pink skinny jeans and blazer, white Converse and dress, Chloe Paddington bag and skirt.

Red Maxi Dresses, Denim Jackets and Blue Bags

Red maxi dresses with denim jackets, sneakers and blue bags for some rainy autumn days in Brisbane recently.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
EarringsColette blue mixed shape faux crystal drop earrings
Necklace: thrifted gold and pastel blue beaded necklace with grey string
Dress: thrifted colourful geometric print maxi dress
ShoesNike Court Royale white and beige sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

Wore this out to church on Mother's Day. They had a photo booth setup so I could get a cute family pic, and so I picked this pretty printed dress to wear and added the new crystal statement earrings I'd picked up on sale a day earlier. The denim jacket was much needed to keep me warm and dry in this spaghetti strap maxi dress. Then with the blue statement earrings and the pale blue denim jacket, the blue beaded necklace seemed like an obvious matchy-matchy choice. The navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag isn't a match to any of the shades of blue in this outfit, but I felt it was a good neutral and continued the blue theme well.

I had a lovely Mother's day, and I enjoyed the things the kids made and bought me, I was very spoiled.

Last worn: denim jacket, blue beaded necklace, geometric print maxi dress, Nike sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford. First time I've worn the earrings as they are a recent purchase.

Other ways to weardenim jacket, geometric print maxi dress and tote bag, Nike sneakers and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford and jeans.

What I wore:

Jacket: Anko Kmart mid wash denim jacket
Earrings: gold heart and pearl earrings
Necklace: handmade silver and gold faux pearl beaded necklace
DressKmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a much busier day, with a day out in the city with family, finally getting on the Brisbane wheel. I've never been on it before, I'm not really a fan of heights, but at least I can say I've done it now! It was another rainy day which explains my hair, and meant I needed to carry an umbrella around, although thankfully the rain dried up for a few hours in the afternoon so we could enjoy our time in the city. We even got a bit of shopping in!

Again I went with a denim jacket over this red dress to keep me warm, it was just right, especially when the sun came out later in the afternoon. I went with the faux pearl necklace to match the pearl earrings, and yet another blue bag, my periwinkle blue Chloe Paraty. It's a good bag for the essentials plus an extra like an umbrella, it fits a lot!

I wore sneakers again, my comfortable Sketchers, as we had a lot of walking planned. It was such a good day.

Last worn: denim jacket, pearl earrings, faux pearl necklace, red tiered midi dress, Sketchers, Chloe Paraty bag.

Other ways to weardenim jacket, red tiered midi dress and leather jacket, Sketchers, Chloe Paraty bag with yellow.

Green Jeans, Printed Tanks and Blazers For The Office

Two outfits with printed tanks, jeans and blazers, an easy office outfit formula for autumn.

What I wore:

Jacket: Cotton On black jersey longline blazer
Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
Tank: thrifted no label terrazzo print white tank
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

Green and pink is not some thing I wear together an awful lot, but I was inspired to try this blush pink bag with the olive green jeans thanks to the pink in the terrazzo print of this tank. The Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody bag matches the subtle blush pink in the tank quite well I thought, so I gave it a go. With a neutral black blazer and white Converse, I really liked this outfit and the blush and olive combination.

Great for another autumn day in the office, the blazer made the sleeve less tank warm enough for the cooler commute.

Last worn: black blazer, circle necklace, terrazzo tank, olive jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB.

Other ways to wearblack blazer and dress, terrazzo tank and maxi skirt, olive jeans worn 30 wayswhite Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer
Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Elissa leaf print tank
Jeans: Valleygirl teal skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star in hot tea
BagChloe Paddington in 2007 Brun

Why I wore it:

Unlike pink and green, blue and green is a combination I wear fairly often, so this bright cobalt blue blazer was an easy choice to layer with the teal skinny jeans. This fern print tank is a fun one that was overdue another wear as well. I liked the matching blue against the blazer, and I thought the colours looked great against the teal jeans.

I went with the statement gold circle necklace to match the statement gold hardware on the Chloe Paddington bag.

This was a very long day as I'd been kept late in the office working on an issue, and after I got home from work I had to rush my son to hospital. It was a very busy evening in the ER and he needed an x-ray so we were there over 4 hours. Thankfully no broken bones for him, but we were a little worried there for a bit! He's fully recovered now.

Last worn: blue blazer, gold circle necklace, fern print tank, teal skinny jeans, brown Converse, Chloe Paddington bag.

Other ways to wearblue blazer and skirt, fern print tank and pencil skirt, teal skinny jeans and stripes, brown Converse and skirt, Chloe Paddington bag and dress.

Perfect for pregnancyChloe Paddington bag in second trimester.
