Striped Dresses, Kmart Denim Trench Coat and Polene Numero Neuf Mini Bag

Another two very similar outfits, following the exact same outfit formula. Wearing striped dresses with fleece lined tights, ankle boots, my Kmart Anko oversized denim trench coat and Polene Numero Neuf mini bag for some winter office days back in August.

Why I wore it:

It's been a while since I last wore this Jeanswest striped fit and flare dress! I felt like it was overdue another wear. While it is sleeveless I layered a long sleeved tee underneath to keep me warm, and with the thick fabric on the dress and the fleece lined tights and ankle boots I was warm enough with this denim trench for the cold commute.

I couldn't resist going a little bit matchy-matchy with the mauve Polene Numero Neuf mini bag, matching the lilac beads in this beaded necklace I made. I got some polymer clay and myself and my son made some beads since I really enjoy wearing this style of necklace. I liked how well the bag and necklace matched together.

Why I wore it:

This was an even colder winter day than the one above, so instead of wearing a simple necklace this time I added another layer with the scarf. While it doesn't match the bag this time, it does match well with the navy stripes in this thrifted dress. It's a long sleeved dress so perfectly cosy for a winter commute and day in the office, especially when paired again with fleece lined tights, and the same black ankle boots and oversized denim trench coat that I wore in the first outfit.

I think you can see how uninspired I was as winter drew to a close here in Brisbane with the very similar outfits I've been wearing, but I do love taking a classic outfit formula and wearing it multiple times! And I did end up really liking both these outfits.

Kmart Tiered Maxi Dresses, Leather Jackets And Rebecca Minkoff Love Bags

Adding some colour to winter office outfits with these block colour Kmart Anko tiered midi dresses, scarves and leather jackets. Both of these outfits I was wearing one of my Rebecca Minkoff Love bags.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This was a very cold winter day, back in July. I needed all the layers to stay cosy! With this amber tiered midi dress, I often wear a lot of printed scarves. No chance of clashing as the dress has no print, and the block amber colour is a nice backdrop to show off a printed scarf. I liked this grey and white mixed print scarf, it was a cosy addition to my outfit for the winter commute and looked good in the office too.

The Adidas Superstar sneakers probably should have been swapped out for boots to keep me even warmer, but they were comfortable even if my ankles got a little chilly. 

With the orange dress adding so much colour to the outfit, I added a neutral bag to go with the grey scarf and black leather jacket and neutral shoes, this Rebecca Minkoff quilted Love bag.

Why I wore it:

Another day in the office, another Kmart tiered midi dress! I have 3 of these dresses and I love how comfortable and colourful they are! Unlike the outfit above, I went a little more colourful with the accessories with this.

I added the pink Converse, although they aren't the same shade of pink as the fuchsia tiered dress I liked the two pinks together. The purple checked scarf is super warm, and added more colour. So did the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff croc embossed Love Too bag. I went with a neutral jacket topper though, again adding a black leather jacket to keep me warm on the cold morning commute.

Two simple striped tee and black skinny jeans outfits with black cardigans, for winter working from home days with the school run and physio appointments.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

Felt like it was time to get this bag out again! I thrifted it a while back, and bought the metallic chain strap on ebay separately so I could wear it crossbody. It's very smooshy and much bigger than you'd think in photos! It fit all my essentials plus my latest library book, so I could read while waiting at the physio appointment and then later at the vet appointment.

Jeans and tee will always be a working from home staple for me in the cooler weather, especially when paired with a cosy cardigan like this black cocoon one. Like the tee, jeans and bag, the cardigan was an opshop find too, so this is an almost entirely thrifted outfit!

Why I wore it:

This was a colder day than the one above so I pulled out this thicker knit cardigan, it's an old one I've had in my wardrobe for years, since my uni days even! I don't wear it a lot over winter, just on very cold days, so it's stuck around for such a long time!

With the black jeans long black belted cardigan and the navy and white striped tee I felt this neutral outfit needed a little extra colour. The brown Converse were an attempt to be matchy-matchy with the Chloe Ethel bag, even though the shades of brown are slightly different.

I added this green printed snood (infinity scarf) for a little extra colour as well, although I ended up taking it off after the school run as I was warm enough in the black cardigan.

Denim Jackets and Dresses With Blue Bags and Converse

I wore this Kmart denim jacket with denim dresses, blue Converse, and blue Rebecca Minkoff bags recently.

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit, although I did regret not packing leggings to wear with it! This was during our little staycation at Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast. I picked this dress as it packs well, the viscose doesn't crease easily and you can't see any creases that do form with the excess fabric, the tiers and the print. With the long sleeves I was hoping the denim jacket would be enough to keep me warm on the short walk from our hotel room to one of the hotel restaurants.

It was later in the evening, after dinner, where I'd wished I'd had the leggings, as we spent some time outside before heading back to our rooms. Thankfully being winter the staff had a few fire pits setup so I was warm sitting in front of them, but cold for the short walk back to the room.

The blue Converse and blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag were what I'd worn around the theme park earlier in the day - I just tried to dress this up a little with the necklace, then I didn't have to pack any extra accessories.

Why I wore it:

This little black dress is a recent opshop find, and like all the new fashion additions to my wardrobe, I was eager to wear it twice in the month I bought it. It meant layering it up a little for this very cold morning where I had a couple of errands to run. I added the leggings and the fun heart print scarf. Although the scarf was really for a bit of colour and print as much as warmth! With the black dress and black leggings the outfit needed the scarf for a bit more colour, the blue Converse and light denim jacket weren't enough of a boost, even with the blue Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag for a little more colour I felt a scarf was needed.

The only thing I didn't like about this outfit was how the dress stuck to the leggings - I am looking forward to warmer weather where I can enjoy this dress without the extra layer! The leggings were a practical choice in the cold though.

Blue Knit Jumpers With Scarves and Black Jeans

Two more knit jumper outfits, with black skinny jeans and scarves. One I wore to work from home, the other I wore in the office.

Why I wore it:

I wore this to work from home back in the holidays. I logged off in the afternoon to take the kids to a STEM class at the library, they really loved it! It was a colder day so I wanted to be warm, and this blue marle jumper was due another wear. It's a piece I thrifted a few years ago, and I've gotten more than 30 wears out of it, definitely a good opshop buy! 

I wanted to skip wearing a jacket, but still be warm, so I added this leopard print scarf. And the brown Converse were an attempt to be a bit matchy-matchy, even though they are a different shade of brown from the leopard print in the scarf. I added more colour with the purple Chloe Paraty bag, and also picked it as it fits all my essentials plus a couple of water bottles, perfect for when we went out in the afternoon.

Why I wore it:

This blue knit seam detail jumper is also an opshop find, although I haven't hit 30 wears with it! I do enjoy wearing it and just bought a similar one in pink in the Kmart clearance recently. Again I wore it with black jeans, and instead of a printed scarf I wore this bright yellow one. With the blue jumper, blue denim trench coat, and Luna blue Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag, I felt like I needed an extra colour in this outfit to brighten it up a bit. And blue and yellow look so good together.

Even with the jumper and the jeans and the denim trench and scarf it was a bit chilly, one of those really cold winter days. I was glad to reach the office that morning!

Layering up these Kmart printed dresses for winter office days recently, with leggings, boots, and leather jackets.

Why I wore it:

I am pleased I could get a photo of this outfit in daylight (I was working from a different office a shorter commute away so I wasn't out the door before sunrise!). I really like pink and purple with this navy and white striped dress, it's something I've worn with a few times before. And leopard print and stripes will always be a print mix I enjoy wearing too. The purple leopard print scarf kept me cosy both in the cooler morning commute and in the office - the aircon there is always super cold!

I liked this dress with the leggings and tall boots too, although it warmed up enough in the afternoon for school pick up that the leather jacket wasn't really needed.

Why I wore it:

Another pink Rebecca Minkoff crossbody bag with a printed dress, leather jacket, leggings and boots. I liked this little pink mini 5-zip bag in this outfit, although it's a different shade from the pink in the floral wisteria print of the dress I think it compliments the pinks and blues nicely. I added another shade of pink with the statement dangly earrings too.

The cobalt leather jacket is a different shade of blue from the pastel blue of the dress as well, but I really liked the pop of colour it adds to this outfit. It's a really fun piece to wear in winter.

Didn't wear a scarf with this, although I did knot up the neckline of the dress for a little extra warmth in the colder morning.

Layering up some rust toned tees for Brisbane's winter with black jeans, Converse and cosy black knits recently.

Why I wore it:

I love the subtle different these coated denim jeans make to an outfit, I'm glad I thrifted them a while back to give the look a try. With a nice cosy cardigan is my favourite way to wear them, and this black cardigan is also an opshop find. With the black jeans, black Converse and black cardigan, I wanted to add a little more colour to this outfit. This washed clay tee is a lovely rust tone that had me pulling out my taupe Alexander McQueen skull scarf and nut brown Chloe Marcie bag to complement the colour.

This was a nice comfortable jeans and tee outfit for working from home, I wasn't planning on having too busy of a day, until I got the message from school in the morning reminding us it was a themed day. I ended up scrabbling to get to the shops and buy the kids something appropriate before drop off! Thankfully they made it to school just before the bell rung. Definitely an eventful morning! Luckily the rest of the day, working from home, didn't have any big surprises!

Why I wore it:

This tee is a similar rust colour to the one above, although a different saturation so this one is a lot more vibrant. I liked the peachy necklace with this, but I kept everything else black so the tee was the only colour in my outfit. It was a quiet weekend day and I didn't have much on other than a couple of errands, after dropping my son off at a playdate and then picking him up later in the afternoon.

I only needed the essentials so this Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag fit everything I needed for the day.

Layering up some dresses for Brisbane's winter weather with leather jackets. I always like getting my leather jackets out in the cooler weather, they are great outfit toppers.

Why I wore it:

On a particularly cold winter morning I layered up this colourful coral red Kmart tiered midi dress with my Jeanswest leather jacket and my paisley print snood (infinity scarf). I wasn't sure if the floral bag and the paisley print scarf would be too much together, but I think they were far enough apart that this outfit worked, and I felt like giving this bag a wear again, it was definitely overdue!

Although the hand painted Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote bag has gold hardware, the paisley print scarf has little silver studs woven through it so I decided to wear my silver circle earrings with this. Wore comfortable shoes as we had church and then some errands to run afterwards, as the kids needed some new school shoes.

Why I wore it:

This was earlier in winter when it was a little warmer so I could face going bare legged. I still layered up with the black ankle boots and black leather jacket to keep me cosy though. This leather jacket is another favourite, picked up preloved at the fashion markets at such a bargain price. I like the juxtaposition of pretty floral dresses with leather jackets, and of course the matchy-matchy of the black leather boots as well made me happy. I added a little extra colour as although the Jasse Semika dress is a colourful floral print, I had added a lot of black. This aquamarine Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and the turquoise tassel earrings are such a nice pairing and I felt they brightened this outfit up.

It was another weekend day, with two kids birthday parties to attend, so a long but fun day.

Why I wore it:

This was a bittersweet day! We had a team lunch to celebrate one of our colleagues moving to a new team. I wanted to be a little dressed up for it, but also warm, as the restaurant was partially outdoors, and I had a bunch of meetings that day too. This cosy ombre pink pashmina scarf was a perfect cosy layer, and the navy trench coat was a practical choice as well. I actually ended up taking my scarf off at lunch as we got situated under the heater and it was quite toasty!

I picked this Rebecca Minkoff black unlined tote to wear to fit in the card we had all put together for my colleague, and then the black ankle boots were an obvious matchy choice with that. I did wish I'd worn taller boots though, it was a bit of a windy day and that tiny little gap of leg above the boots that showed when the wind picked up the hem of the dress got a bit cold!

Why I wore it:

Another tiered midi dress for the office, with the same black ankle boots. It was not quite as windy a day, so the little gap between the hem of the dress and top of my boots didn't make me too cold. Again I went with darker bag to match the boots. This Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag photographs as a black bag but it's just a very dark navy. I like pairing it with these boots.

I layered up this fuchsia pink Kmart tiered midi dress with this cobalt Louis Vuitton shawl - it's so warm for winter! And my lined camel trench coat, always a staple in winter weather.
