What I wore:
Top: Atmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Skirt: thrifted Ghanda midi slink skirt in green mini blossom
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag
Why I wore it:
I really like this skirt! I was browsing the racks at the opshop when I saw the familiar print - my sister has the same skirt. She likes it so much she has it in two colours. I don't have a lot of green in my wardrobe but knowing I could get style advice from my sister with this, and because it was just $1, I took this home with me. I have a few ways I've thought about wearing it, but pairing it with a classic white tee is of course the easiest way, so that's the first way I've worn it here. With the white tee matching the white daisy print I went even more matchy-matchy with the white Converse too, and the emerald green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag is a close shade to the green of the skirt. Even wore my little gold charm necklace to match the gold hardware on the bag too. A very nice matchy-matchy outfit.
Perfect for a busy Monday! Had the school drop off and pick up for the kids of course, and sports in the evening. Even managed a little walk around my favourite local trail after drop off too, before the rain arrived later that morning.
I also had my first official Monday at work for the first time in over 7 years! Now both boys are at primary school I've returned to 5 days a week. I went part time when I returned from maternity leave after having my eldest boy, and aside from a couple of times when I've swapped my days around to suit work deadlines, I've never worked a regular Monday since! Still working from home at the moment, with so many cases around.
Last worn: white v-neck tee, gold charm necklace, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag. First time I've worn the skirt as it was a recent opshop find.
Other ways to wear: white v-neck tee and pink shorts, Converse and navy dress, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and kimono.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.

What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5-Zip
What I wore:
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Shorts: thrifted Kmart pastel soft culotte shorts in floral print
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5 zip in pink iris with gold hardware
Why I wore it:
Cheating a little here with the Weekday Wear Linkup again and sharing a weekend outfit! But really all my outfits are the same now on weekdays and weekends in a pandemic world.I was eager to wear these pastel floral print culottes soon after buying them and I thought this lilac tee would be a great piece to try. I smiled when I saw these shorts at the opshop - they were so similar to the navy printed ones I already have, and they are from Kmart too, just from a different year! It was nice to score them for just $1.
Unlike the outfit above, nothing really matches in this outfit, it's got all the colours! But I think it all went together nicely. While the pastel blue shorts do have a little blush in the floral print, it is a very different shade from the pink mini 5-zip bag and the blue is a different shade from the Converse All Star too. I liked this colourful outfit though, nice and comfortable for a hot morning at the playground with the kids. Thankfully my outfit survived when I was playing with the kids, slipped and fell, and scraped up my hand on the ground. The rubber flooring on the playground is soft and bouncy but can still take your skin off when you slide along it! My hand and arm bore the worst of it unfortunately.
Last worn: lilac tee, necklace, blue Converse, pink mini 5-zip bag. First time I've worn the culotte shorts as they were a recent opshop buy.
Other ways to wear: lilac tee and denim skirt, blue Converse and striped dress, pink mini 5-zip bag and floral dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: lilac tee in second trimester.

Great deal at just a dollar on that skirt. I cannot remember the last time I saw a skirt for just $1. It looks good with the white tee and sneakers. Hope you have a great week Mica and enjoy being back at it full time!

These skirts are really cute!
ReplyDeleteCute green skirt, great idea to get style ideas from your sister who has the same one! And I love how you advise if certain garments are good for wearing in pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteYes I knew she would help me style it, as green isn't a colour I wear a lot - she's so stylish, I have lots of ideas for outfits! :) It's fun looking back at the ways I wore pieces in pregnancy too, I made the most of my wardrobe and only bought a few maternity pieces.
DeleteI am wearing a very similar outfit today: a white graphic tee and white tennis shoes and a green print but a maxi one. Love it!

It's a fun outfit combo no matter the length of the skirt! :)
DeleteTwo great looks and real bargain priced skirts as well! I love both outfits. It's nice to be able to try something a little different than you would usually buy at a low price. Hope you have an easy transition back to full time, and have a good week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, it's definitely an adjustment going back to 5 days after working part time for so many years!
DeleteGreen looks really good on you I like it with the plain white tee. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSteph-G
A dollar?! Wow, what a great deal.
ReplyDeleteYes I have been super lucky at the opshops (thrift shops!) this year!
DeleteLove these looks featuring your Rebecca Minkoff bags! The pink and purple one is especially fun, with those cute culottes and sky clue Converse. I can't believe the culottes were just $1! Also, congrats on your first Monday back at work. I'm still working from home too. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, working Mondays has definitely been an adjustment, haha! I just had to have the culottes at that price - too good to pass up!
DeleteSo glad you got to wear your green skirt twice. I know that is your goal with "new" items. It looks great paired with a plain white tee. Those culottes look nice and comfy and so cute with all the other pastel tones.
ReplyDeleteYes I'm pleased it's worked in my wardrobe so well, looking forward to wearing it more!
DeleteI'm loving the skirt in my favourite colour, green. Well done for finding it so cheaply! Still, my favourite outfit is the second one. Those shorts are really cute, and it looks gorgeous worn with the lilac tee and that fabulous statement necklace! Ouch on slipping and scraping your hand, though! xxx
ReplyDeleteYes my sister paid full price for hers in the retail store so I was surprised I could get it for just $1 at the opshop - especially as it's still in store in other colours right now! Thankfully my hand is healing up!
DeleteI just love that skirt. It is so beautiful and you definitely got it for an amazing price! Also, was it strange to be working on a Monday? It will certainly be an adjustment, but I hope it all goes well :D
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Yes it's a big adjustment going back to 5 days a week! Gotta get used to working Mondays!
DeleteThat skirt is different for you. It's nice to change things up from time to time.
ReplyDeleteIt is really different! I'm having fun making it work in my wardrobe, as you said it's nice to try new things!
DeleteYou are rocking that skirt. I hope you have a great week.

I would have thought the skort was a skirt—it's super cute! Hope your hand heals quickly!

It is such a cute pair of shorts! :) And thankfully my hand is healing up!
DeleteI just love that green skirt - it's really nice on you. I would do pink, orange or yellow with it - those will all look good - but this is also really nice and clean with the white tee.
ReplyDeleteI like the second outfit and approve (heh) of all the colours. Well done, Mica! I hope your hand/arm aren't too bad from your slip/fall. Ouch!
Thanks so much for the link-party!
Thanks Sheila! My hand is healing up nicely!
DeleteAnd I think yellow would be great with it - I have a few yellow tops! think I'm going to go with the boring grey next, really slowly warming up to wearing so much green as it's not a go-to colour for me, haha!
Both outfits are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI really like your blue Converse.
Kisses!

I am so loving that lilac shirt with those shorts, Mica! What a great combo! And that skirt in the first outfit looks so fab on you as well. You do find the greatest things in op shops.:)
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo...stay safe. I hope no will be no more floods, and that the cases don't go up anymore. It's really so insane and surreal when we watch the news lately, you know? Sigh....:(
Yes I have been so lucky at the opshops this year! It's a shame they will be harder to get to now I'm working 5 days, but good for my wallet, haha!
DeleteIt is a crazy world, but I like how in all the news coverage with the floods, and even when we saw our street flooding, there was people helping. Shows the kindness in people!
Me gusta la falda y la cartera verde es genial . Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with the green skirt, Mica - so cute! Hope you guys are keeping safe

Your green skirt and fun bag in the first outfit are so cute! Love both of these outfits and bags!
ReplyDeleteLove your green skirt. How pretty!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday, Mica!
I love the 5 zip bag as well, it's SO comfortable and easy to wear! wonderful design. The color combo here is a bit on your unusual side and I love it! I need to try wearing my 5 zip with white converse as well. It looks SO good!
ReplyDeleteYes I'm really trying to be more adventurous and wear more green - it's a colour I'm not very confident with but I'm getting there!
Deleteoh and the flood sounds pretty nasty: I checked your insta stories about it and I loved it how you handle the time with your kids. It never fails to wonder me just how much circumstances in various areas vary. If we had a flood here I'd be terrified because it never happened!
ReplyDeletewe were a bit scared as we built this house and didn't know how it would cope with the floods - last time we had big floods like this in Brisbane our suburb was at risk and we evacuated so we didn't see what happened. At our new place we were cut off and had no choice but to ride out it and try make it fun for the kids.
DeleteEl primer outfit es divino, ame la falda, saludos:D
ReplyDeleteThe green skirt is beautiful and it's a steal at $1.

Hello Mica,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I hope you're doing well! I have heard some terrible news about storms in Queensland so hope all your people is safe and sound!

ReplyDeleteThe first outfit is super cute
ReplyDeleteI like to keep a lot of V-Necks in different colors because they really do go well with anything. I like the way you paired them with your skirts. As always, you are as cute as a button!

ReplyDeleteI love that you and your sister have matching skirts now! I don’t know how I would handle going back to working Mondays if I’d had seven years of not doing that—I don’t really want to work them now, haha!
ReplyDeleteMatching skirts is fun! I used to joke with my mom as we have a few of the same tops and said I xould do a mommy and me post! LOL. Love the green and both outfits look darling with the converse!
