Printed Pieces With Plain V-Necks And Mini 5-Zip Bags Weekday Wear Link Up

Wearing two new printed pieces I thrifted during my February opshop browsing for today's Weekday Wear Link Up. A skirt that's very different from everything else in my wardrobe, and a pair of cute culottes that I already own in another print! Pairing both of them with my little Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bags.

What I wore:

Ghanda midi slink skirt in green mini blossom with white tee and converse, matching 5-zip bag | awayfromblue

green floral print skirt, Rebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
TopAtmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Skirt: thrifted Ghanda midi slink skirt in green mini blossom
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

I really like this skirt! I was browsing the racks at the opshop when I saw the familiar print - my sister has the same skirt. She likes it so much she has it in two colours. I don't have a lot of green in my wardrobe but knowing I could get style advice from my sister with this, and because it was just $1, I took this home with me. I have a few ways I've thought about wearing it, but pairing it with a classic white tee is of course the easiest way, so that's the first way I've worn it here.

With the white tee matching the white daisy print I went even more matchy-matchy with the white Converse too, and the emerald green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag is a close shade to the green of the skirt. Even wore my little gold charm necklace to match the gold hardware on the bag too. A very nice matchy-matchy outfit.

Perfect for a busy Monday! Had the school drop off and pick up for the kids of course, and sports in the evening. Even managed a little walk around my favourite local trail after drop off too, before the rain arrived later that morning.

I also had my first official Monday at work for the first time in over 7 years! Now both boys are at primary school I've returned to 5 days a week. I went part time when I returned from maternity leave after having my eldest boy, and aside from a couple of times when I've swapped my days around to suit work deadlines, I've never worked a regular Monday since! Still working from home at the moment, with so many cases around.

Last worn: white v-neck tee, gold charm necklace, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag. First time I've worn the skirt as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearwhite v-neck tee and pink shorts, Converse and navy dress, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and kimono.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5-Zip

What I wore:

lilac tee Kmart floral print pastel culotte shorts, converse, pink mini 5 zip bag | awayfromblue

pastel print shorts, Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5 zip in pink iris with gold hardware | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Shorts: thrifted Kmart pastel soft culotte shorts in floral print
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Mini 5 zip in pink iris with gold hardware

Why I wore it:

Cheating a little here with the Weekday Wear Linkup again and sharing a weekend outfit! But really all my outfits are the same now on weekdays and weekends in a pandemic world.

I was eager to wear these pastel floral print culottes soon after buying them and I thought this lilac tee would be a great piece to try. I smiled when I saw these shorts at the opshop - they were so similar to the navy printed ones I already have, and they are from Kmart too, just from a different year! It was nice to score them for just $1.

Unlike the outfit above, nothing really matches in this outfit, it's got all the colours! But I think it all went together nicely. While the pastel blue shorts do have a little blush in the floral print, it is a very different shade from the pink mini 5-zip bag and the blue is a different shade from the Converse All Star too. I liked this colourful outfit though, nice and comfortable for a hot morning at the playground with the kids. Thankfully my outfit survived when I was playing with the kids, slipped and fell, and scraped up my hand on the ground. The rubber flooring on the playground is soft and bouncy but can still take your skin off when you slide along it! My hand and arm bore the worst of it unfortunately.

Last worn: lilac tee, necklace, blue Converse, pink mini 5-zip bag. First time I've worn the culotte shorts as they were a recent opshop buy.

Other ways to wearlilac tee and denim skirt, blue Converse and striped dress, pink mini 5-zip bag and floral dress.

Perfect for pregnancylilac tee in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

If you're not sure what to wear with printed pieces like this skirt or culottes, try a plain tee! I have quite a collection of plain but colourful v-neck tees in my wardrobe - you can find one to go with everything!

  1. Great deal at just a dollar on that skirt. I cannot remember the last time I saw a skirt for just $1. It looks good with the white tee and sneakers. Hope you have a great week Mica and enjoy being back at it full time!

    1. Yes I knew she would help me style it, as green isn't a colour I wear a lot - she's so stylish, I have lots of ideas for outfits! :) It's fun looking back at the ways I wore pieces in pregnancy too, I made the most of my wardrobe and only bought a few maternity pieces.

    1. we were a bit scared as we built this house and didn't know how it would cope with the floods - last time we had big floods like this in Brisbane our suburb was at risk and we evacuated so we didn't see what happened. At our new place we were cut off and had no choice but to ride out it and try make it fun for the kids.
