Two Ways To Wear Blue Leaf Print Maxi Wrap Skirt

I recently picked up this beautiful blue leaf print warp skirt at the opshop, for just $1! While it's winter in Brisbane I was eager to wear it as soon as possible. I set myself a goal of wearing everything I wear twice in the month I buy it, and luckily I was able to layer up this skirt to wear it twice this winter.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This grey tee is also an opshop find! I knew with this colourful printed wrap skirt a plain grey tee would make a great neutral pairing with it. I added the cobalt leather jacket for extra warmth for the school run, especially in the morning. I really liked this first wear of this skirt, it is definitely something better suited for warmer weather though!

With the blue Converse and blue necklace, blue leather jacket and blue printed wrap skirt this outfit really needed another colour so I added the little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag for that. I like purple and blue together, and as I didn't have to carry much this was a good bag choice to hold the essentials.

Last worn: cobalt leather jacket, stud earrings, blue necklace, blue Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag in lilac. First time I've worn the wrap skirt and the grey tee as they are recent opshop finds.

Why I wore it:

I layered up this skirt a little more the next time I wore it, with this cosy berry seam detail knit. The jumper is also another recent wardrobe addition, although one I bought new from the store. While I liked the lilac Polene Numero Neuf bag with the first outfit, I liked the brighter pinks with this blue skirt too! I added lots of shades of pink, with the berry pink of the knit, pastel and bright pink in my handmade beaded necklace, and bolder pink in the Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag. To make sure I kept warm I added the leather jacket, and then these Acne Pistol boots that have been sitting in my wardrobe for far too long and were definitely overdue another wear. It was a great outfit for church, although I did shed the denim jacket when the sun came out later in the morning and it warmed up.

Two Ways To Wear Kmart Berry Pink Seam Detail Knit Jumper

This Kmart berry seam detail knit jumper is the only new (not pre-loved) piece I bought last month. I saw it on sale in store near the checkouts and couldn't resist picking it up. I'm such an impulse shopper sometimes! I've enjoyed wearing it so far, it's nice and cosy for Brisbane's winter days.

In both of these outfits, I've worn the pink jumper to the office.

Why I wore it:

This leather moto jacket was an amazing preloved find at the fashion markets a while back and I love it in winter, it's got really spacious sleeves so it's easy to layer a knit jumper like this underneath it.

With the cosy jumper on top and the leather jacket, I decided to wear this pretty maxi skirt. It is light and one I wear in summer as well, but with the cosy top layers I wasn't too cold in the early morning commute to work. I wore pink Converse although the shades of pink are different from the knit, I thought a little extra colour was needed with all the black.

I wore the Rebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC for a touch more colour as well, I liked how well it matched this new beaded necklace I made.

Why I wore it:

For another office day, I again wore this berry pink seam detail jumper with a skirt. A pencil skirt this time, and I went with purple accessories. I really like pink and purple together. Although the purple resin floral statement earrings and the plum purple Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote are different shades of purple, I thought they were far enough apart that they worked well together in this outfit with the pink jumper.

I wore this navy suede jacket to match the navy background on this jacquard pencil skirt, and of course I needed some fleece lined tights for the cold commute, even with ankle boots I needed my legs covered up! Just like above, I really liked this outfit, it was another good way to wear this berry jumper.

Floral Print Dresses With Navy Suede Moto Jacket and Mimco Mim-Mazing Crossbody Bag

Two outfits with floral print dresses, Converse, a navy suede moto jacket and Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag for some different days recently.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I really like this navy suede moto jacket paired with this navy and white floral print tiered dress. I wanted to be dressed up but not too cold for a day off where I attended an award ceremony for a family member. I thought a denim jacket or leather jacket would be too casual, this jacket seemed perfect for the formal event. I did go with casual Converse though as I had to drive a bit and while boots would have looked more formal, I had to consider my knee with all that driving.

I didn't need to carry much, just the essentials, so I went with this little black Mimco Mim-mazing crossbody bag. It was perfect for the basics for the ceremony and then going out for brunch afterwards.

Went a little matchy-matchy with the gold hardware on the bag with the gold charm necklace and gold stud earrings. I layered up some gold bracelets too but you can't see them with the long sleeves on the dress and long sleeves on the jacket covering them up.

This was unfortunately not a day off! I had to head into the office, again leaving before sunrise so sorry for the low quality photo. Since I liked the navy suede jacket with the floral dress in the outfit above so much I wore the formula again on this day with this Kmart teal floral print midi dress. I really like this dress with shades of blue, so I added blue converse with the navy jacket. I went a little matchy-matchy with the teal earrings but unfortunately they are hard to see in the photo.

Again I wore my Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag. It's great for all the essentials and I have a big work-issued laptop bag I can slip my water bottle and lunch into.

Layering up these Kmart printed dresses for winter office days recently, with leggings, boots, and leather jackets.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I am pleased I could get a photo of this outfit in daylight (I was working from a different office a shorter commute away so I wasn't out the door before sunrise!). I really like pink and purple with this navy and white striped dress, it's something I've worn with a few times before. And leopard print and stripes will always be a print mix I enjoy wearing too. The purple leopard print scarf kept me cosy both in the cooler morning commute and in the office - the aircon there is always super cold!

I liked this dress with the leggings and tall boots too, although it warmed up enough in the afternoon for school pick up that the leather jacket wasn't really needed.

Why I wore it:

Another pink Rebecca Minkoff crossbody bag with a printed dress, leather jacket, leggings and boots. I liked this little pink mini 5-zip bag in this outfit, although it's a different shade from the pink in the floral wisteria print of the dress I think it compliments the pinks and blues nicely. I added another shade of pink with the statement dangly earrings too.

The cobalt leather jacket is a different shade of blue from the pastel blue of the dress as well, but I really liked the pop of colour it adds to this outfit. It's a really fun piece to wear in winter.

Didn't wear a scarf with this, although I did knot up the neckline of the dress for a little extra warmth in the colder morning.

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit! The red tee is a new-to-me opshop find. I am always on the hunt for good basic cotton tees in the opshops, and I loved the bright red of this. Although I have a few red tees already in my wardrobe, at just $1, I had to pick this up! With the bright cobalt leather jacket it really pops, and I added some more interest to this outfit with the leopard print maxi skirt. The skirt is also an opshop find. Despite a small slit up the side it was long enough on this breezey winter day to keep my legs cosy. I went with the brown Converse to match the browns in the leopard print skirt, and then I went matchy-matchy with the bag and necklace too. I think this Luna blue Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag is a great pairing with the greyish-blue on this necklace.

While it was a colder winter day, we were up early as I took the kids to a science show. They had a great time, made the errands we had to run afterwards a little more bearable as we had such fun at the show!

Why I wore it:

Another red tee and maxi skirt outfit combination! Like the one above, I stuck with blue and red, with this deeper burgundy tee and the fun blue tie dye print maxi skirt. I went with a darker blue jacket with this navy suede one that's really warm for winter. Perfect for an early morning school drop off, although I didn't need it too much in the afternoon for school pick up. I worked from home when the kids were at school, had an appointment, and then took the kids to the dentist after school.

While the shades of blue and red in this outfit are different from the brighter ones above, I liked this outfit too. The skirt does have a pretty large slit up the side so was not as warm as I'd have liked in the morning, but it thankfully got warmer later in the day when the sun was shining.

Just like the outfit above, I accessorised with the Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie bag - it fits my current library read in it along with all my essentials, great for in the writing room at the dentist. The necklace is an opshop find too, I thrifted both this one and the blue one in the same store. I love the chunky beads.

Floral Dresses In Winter With Leggings

I have so many cute floral dresses, and I try to wear them year-round. One recent weekend, I wore these two floral dresses with leggings and jackets to make them suitable for our winter weather.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This was a very fun day! We had a kid's birthday party in the morning, and then a friend came over for a playdate in the afternoon, so the boys were very entertained.

I did not expect for the parents to get involved in the kids party though - at one point there was kids vs adults dodgeball and perhaps the boots were not the best choice of footwear. I ended up just taking the boots off and running around in my socks!

I did like the boots and leggings with this purple floral dress though, a recent opshop find that I'm looking forward to wearing with less layers when it warms up. With the turquoise in the bottom hem I was inspired to add a lot of blue to this, with the mid wash denim jacket, blue crystal earrings, and periwinkle blue Chloe small Paraty bag.

Why I wore it:

I knew I would be doing a lot of walking on this day so I still layered up this Jaase floral dress with leggings, but wore Converse instead of boots. Spent the day with my parents and sister, she's doing some renovations at the moment so we helped review a few tile choices and then all went out for lunch. It was a really nice day. It was a chilly morning so I layered up with this leather jacket, but with the long sleeves on this Jaase dress I didn't really feel I needed the jacket in the heat of the day.

It's the first time I've worn this dress with the provided belt since I got it! I liked the look, it's nice to have different ways to wear it. I feel the peachy floral print really pops with all the black, from the Converse, leggings, leather jacket and Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Layering up some dresses for Brisbane's winter weather with leather jackets. I always like getting my leather jackets out in the cooler weather, they are great outfit toppers.

Why I wore it:

On a particularly cold winter morning I layered up this colourful coral red Kmart tiered midi dress with my Jeanswest leather jacket and my paisley print snood (infinity scarf). I wasn't sure if the floral bag and the paisley print scarf would be too much together, but I think they were far enough apart that this outfit worked, and I felt like giving this bag a wear again, it was definitely overdue!

Although the hand painted Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote bag has gold hardware, the paisley print scarf has little silver studs woven through it so I decided to wear my silver circle earrings with this. Wore comfortable shoes as we had church and then some errands to run afterwards, as the kids needed some new school shoes.

Why I wore it:

This was earlier in winter when it was a little warmer so I could face going bare legged. I still layered up with the black ankle boots and black leather jacket to keep me cosy though. This leather jacket is another favourite, picked up preloved at the fashion markets at such a bargain price. I like the juxtaposition of pretty floral dresses with leather jackets, and of course the matchy-matchy of the black leather boots as well made me happy. I added a little extra colour as although the Jasse Semika dress is a colourful floral print, I had added a lot of black. This aquamarine Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and the turquoise tassel earrings are such a nice pairing and I felt they brightened this outfit up.

It was another weekend day, with two kids birthday parties to attend, so a long but fun day.

Adding a touch of navy to these colourful Kmart tiered midi dresses with printed scarves for winter office days.

Why I wore it:

While the faded electric blue 5 zip bag, dark navy suede moto jacket and tile print scarf are all different shades I though they looked nice with the orange tiered midi dress. I wear this dress with blue a lot, I always like blue and orange together. I did have a little matchy-matchy with the navy tassel earrings matching the tassels on the scarf, and that made me happy.

I find I'm reaching for this dress and similar ones quite a lot recently, as we get closer and closer to spring in Brisbane it isn't too cold to be going out with bare ankles, even on the early morning commute to the office as I had on this day.

I wish it had been a drier day so it wasn't so dark and cloudy when I took outfit photos in the morning, as I loved the colours in this outfit but it was hard to capture before rushing off into the city. It's not the first time I've worn this little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag with a pink dress, the colour looks so good with a bright fuchsia. And while it is the first time I've worn the cobalt leather jacket with the fuchsia pink dress I do love wearing this dress with shades of blue.

I couldn't resist adding a few more shades of blue like I did in the outfit above, with the turquoise earrings and the navy bird print scarf. This was so cheerful and colourful, I loved this outfit. Perfect for a day in the office with some colleagues from outside Brisbane.

Tiered Maxi Dresses and Leopard Print Scarves

Adding a little extra colour and print to two Kmart tiered maxi dress outfits for Brisbane's winter with leather jackets and leopard print scarves.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest black leather moto jacket
Scarf: Supre neon pink leopard print scarf
Dress: Kmart denim short sleeve button front midi dress 
Shoes: Sketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bag: thrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Felt this scarf was overdue a wear - an impulse $5 sale buy when I walked past a store years ago, I still love it today! With the denim tiered maxi dress, I felt it added a nice pop of colour and print, and with the black leather jacket, kept me cosy for a cold winter day. I had the school run, an appointment for my youngest, then dropping him off at school for the rest of the day and running a few errands myself before school pick up.

The Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag was a practical choice to carry all the little extras I needed over the day. The navy Sketchers sneakers were a practical choice too as the appointment was at a specialist a bit of a drive away and I needed something comfortable to wear on my knee with all that driving, as I aggravated my old knee injury again when walking the dogs.

Why I wore it:

Surprised to see I haven't worn this orange tiered midi dress with this cobalt jacket before, it's such a fun and colourful winter combination! I needed a little extra warmth for an early morning appointment for myself, and yet more errands. I added the leopard print scarf just like in the outfit above for a little extra print. I liked this outfit formula in both of these resulting outfits, it was good to wear it again!

I did end up taking the jacket off when it warmed up a little later that morning though, wasn't a necessity for a little opshop browsing I did before I headed home. Just like the outfit above, I'd picked the Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag to wear as I had a few things and some paperwork to carry around.
