Floral Print Dresses With Navy Suede Moto Jacket and Mimco Mim-Mazing Crossbody Bag

Two outfits with floral print dresses, Converse, a navy suede moto jacket and Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag for some different days recently.

Why I wore it:

I really like this navy suede moto jacket paired with this navy and white floral print tiered dress. I wanted to be dressed up but not too cold for a day off where I attended an award ceremony for a family member. I thought a denim jacket or leather jacket would be too casual, this jacket seemed perfect for the formal event. I did go with casual Converse though as I had to drive a bit and while boots would have looked more formal, I had to consider my knee with all that driving.

I didn't need to carry much, just the essentials, so I went with this little black Mimco Mim-mazing crossbody bag. It was perfect for the basics for the ceremony and then going out for brunch afterwards.

Went a little matchy-matchy with the gold hardware on the bag with the gold charm necklace and gold stud earrings. I layered up some gold bracelets too but you can't see them with the long sleeves on the dress and long sleeves on the jacket covering them up.

Why I wore it:

This was unfortunately not a day off! I had to head into the office, again leaving before sunrise so sorry for the low quality photo. Since I liked the navy suede jacket with the floral dress in the outfit above so much I wore the formula again on this day with this Kmart teal floral print midi dress. I really like this dress with shades of blue, so I added blue converse with the navy jacket. I went a little matchy-matchy with the teal earrings but unfortunately they are hard to see in the photo.

Again I wore my Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag. It's great for all the essentials and I have a big work-issued laptop bag I can slip my water bottle and lunch into.

Printed Dresses, Leather Jackets and Pink Bags

Layering up these Kmart printed dresses for winter office days recently, with leggings, boots, and leather jackets.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I am pleased I could get a photo of this outfit in daylight (I was working from a different office a shorter commute away so I wasn't out the door before sunrise!). I really like pink and purple with this navy and white striped dress, it's something I've worn with a few times before. And leopard print and stripes will always be a print mix I enjoy wearing too. The purple leopard print scarf kept me cosy both in the cooler morning commute and in the office - the aircon there is always super cold!

I liked this dress with the leggings and tall boots too, although it warmed up enough in the afternoon for school pick up that the leather jacket wasn't really needed.

Why I wore it:

Another pink Rebecca Minkoff crossbody bag with a printed dress, leather jacket, leggings and boots. I liked this little pink mini 5-zip bag in this outfit, although it's a different shade from the pink in the floral wisteria print of the dress I think it compliments the pinks and blues nicely. I added another shade of pink with the statement dangly earrings too.

The cobalt leather jacket is a different shade of blue from the pastel blue of the dress as well, but I really liked the pop of colour it adds to this outfit. It's a really fun piece to wear in winter.

Didn't wear a scarf with this, although I did knot up the neckline of the dress for a little extra warmth in the colder morning.

Floral Dresses In Winter With Leggings

I have so many cute floral dresses, and I try to wear them year-round. One recent weekend, I wore these two floral dresses with leggings and jackets to make them suitable for our winter weather.

Why I wore it:

This was a very fun day! We had a kid's birthday party in the morning, and then a friend came over for a playdate in the afternoon, so the boys were very entertained.

I did not expect for the parents to get involved in the kids party though - at one point there was kids vs adults dodgeball and perhaps the boots were not the best choice of footwear. I ended up just taking the boots off and running around in my socks!

I did like the boots and leggings with this purple floral dress though, a recent opshop find that I'm looking forward to wearing with less layers when it warms up. With the turquoise in the bottom hem I was inspired to add a lot of blue to this, with the mid wash denim jacket, blue crystal earrings, and periwinkle blue Chloe small Paraty bag.

Why I wore it:

I knew I would be doing a lot of walking on this day so I still layered up this Jaase floral dress with leggings, but wore Converse instead of boots. Spent the day with my parents and sister, she's doing some renovations at the moment so we helped review a few tile choices and then all went out for lunch. It was a really nice day. It was a chilly morning so I layered up with this leather jacket, but with the long sleeves on this Jaase dress I didn't really feel I needed the jacket in the heat of the day.

It's the first time I've worn this dress with the provided belt since I got it! I liked the look, it's nice to have different ways to wear it. I feel the peachy floral print really pops with all the black, from the Converse, leggings, leather jacket and Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Layering up some dresses for Brisbane's winter weather with leather jackets. I always like getting my leather jackets out in the cooler weather, they are great outfit toppers.

Why I wore it:

On a particularly cold winter morning I layered up this colourful coral red Kmart tiered midi dress with my Jeanswest leather jacket and my paisley print snood (infinity scarf). I wasn't sure if the floral bag and the paisley print scarf would be too much together, but I think they were far enough apart that this outfit worked, and I felt like giving this bag a wear again, it was definitely overdue!

Although the hand painted Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote bag has gold hardware, the paisley print scarf has little silver studs woven through it so I decided to wear my silver circle earrings with this. Wore comfortable shoes as we had church and then some errands to run afterwards, as the kids needed some new school shoes.

Why I wore it:

This was earlier in winter when it was a little warmer so I could face going bare legged. I still layered up with the black ankle boots and black leather jacket to keep me cosy though. This leather jacket is another favourite, picked up preloved at the fashion markets at such a bargain price. I like the juxtaposition of pretty floral dresses with leather jackets, and of course the matchy-matchy of the black leather boots as well made me happy. I added a little extra colour as although the Jasse Semika dress is a colourful floral print, I had added a lot of black. This aquamarine Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and the turquoise tassel earrings are such a nice pairing and I felt they brightened this outfit up.

It was another weekend day, with two kids birthday parties to attend, so a long but fun day.

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit, I wanted something comfortable and warm but also colourful for watching my son compete in the afternoon. With the pink in the floral print of this Jaase Semika mini dress, I added the pink tassel earrings and then more pink with the sorbet Balenciaga city bag. I needed a big bag for fitting my camera inside as well as a book and all my usual essentials. While the pink on the sorbet Balenciaga city bag and the pastel pink tassels on the earrings don't match and don't match the pink in the floral print of the dress, I liked all the shades of pink with this. We were indoors most of the afternoon so the denim jacket was the only layer I needed.

Why I wore it:

This was a bit of a calmer day! Again I wanted to try wearing a summer floral dress in winter - this one is a recent opshop find! I couldn't pass it up for just $1 at the opshop, although I did worry a few times during this day that it was a little short. I chose to wear the long denim trench coat made me feel a little more confident that the dress wasn't too short, as the long trench covers everything. I ended up really liking this outfit.

I went all matchy-matchy with the purple flower earrings and purple Balenciaga work bag. I liked the statement earrings for video calls as I worked from home, and the large Balenciaga work bag was perfect for all the essentials and still had a lot of space for my current book so I could read in the afternoon as the kids had a dentist appointment.

Two tiered dresses for the office with trench coats. Both of these outfits have scarves to combat the colder winter mornings in Brisbane currently, and feature pink and blue.

Why I wore it:

This was a bittersweet day! We had a team lunch to celebrate one of our colleagues moving to a new team. I wanted to be a little dressed up for it, but also warm, as the restaurant was partially outdoors, and I had a bunch of meetings that day too. This cosy ombre pink pashmina scarf was a perfect cosy layer, and the navy trench coat was a practical choice as well. I actually ended up taking my scarf off at lunch as we got situated under the heater and it was quite toasty!

I picked this Rebecca Minkoff black unlined tote to wear to fit in the card we had all put together for my colleague, and then the black ankle boots were an obvious matchy choice with that. I did wish I'd worn taller boots though, it was a bit of a windy day and that tiny little gap of leg above the boots that showed when the wind picked up the hem of the dress got a bit cold!

Another tiered midi dress for the office, with the same black ankle boots. It was not quite as windy a day, so the little gap between the hem of the dress and top of my boots didn't make me too cold. Again I went with darker bag to match the boots. This Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag photographs as a black bag but it's just a very dark navy. I like pairing it with these boots.

I layered up this fuchsia pink Kmart tiered midi dress with this cobalt Louis Vuitton shawl - it's so warm for winter! And my lined camel trench coat, always a staple in winter weather.

2 outfits with a simple outfit formula of Jaase floral dresses, denim jackets, statement earrings and my Polene Numero Neuf mini bag. Both outfits worn at the start of winter when it wasn't cold enough to need leggings under these dresses.

Why I wore it:

Wore this for church in the morning, and then an engagement lunch in the afternoon. It felt like a day that would warm up and with the ankle boots and the denim jacket I was warm enough until I did. This navy Jaase autumn leaves print dress has long sleeves too that helped keep me warm.

I couldn't decide what necklace to wear with this, and decided just on a pair of statement earrings instead. I really like these blue crystal ones. With the pale blue wash of the denim jacket and the navy background of the dress, the blue earrings were great with this.

I added a little extra colour with the lilac purple Polene Numero Neuf mini bag. I didn't need to carry much with me, and this bag is great for just the essentials.

Why I wore it:

Another repetition of the same outfit formula, with a different Jaase floral dress! I picked up this dress recently in the Salty Crush warehouse sale and I've really been enjoying wearing it. For another morning at church and a couple of quick errands afterwards, again a denim jacket was the only topper I needed. It was even warm enough that I didn't need ankle boots and just wore Converse with this.

While the purple floral earrings and the lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag are different shades of purple, I liked both of them with the pastel peach tones in this floral Jaase dress, especially paired with the darker wash denim jacket.

Why I wore it:

It was a really foggy morning on this day so I was glad I had this long maxi skirt, thankfully the fog dissipated by the time I was in the office and it turned into a warm and sunny day, so this denim jacket was the perfect layer. it kept me cosy on the cooler commute over this long sleeved printed maxi dress, and also for the afternoon, as I left the office early to take Cooper to a vet's appointment in the evening.

I really like the navy and white print on this dress, but felt like adding a little more colour to it. The fuchsia statement earrings and the wine purple Chloe Paraty bag don't match each other at all, but I like both purple and pink with blue so I really liked this combination.

it's the first time I've shared this dress on the blog - i picked it up at the Salty Crush online warehouse sale and it was a bargain. I really liked wearing it. It has pockets and while it's a light viscose the long sleeves mean I'm hoping to wear it a few more times in winter.

Why I wore it:

I wore this back at the end of autumn, when bare legs was possible! It's a lot cooler now it's winter in Brisbane. I really liked this outfit though. The navy and white tiered printed dress is from my sister's wardrobe, and just like the outfit above I added more colour with pink and purple accessories. The plum purple mini MAB tote bag is not the exact same shade of purple as the earrings, but I like the two together, and I added a little pink as well with the pastel pink Converse. The bright blue blazer was all the light layer I needed for this outfit on the commute to and from work. It helped make the dress a little more formal for in the office too.

This was another day I left the office early, to pickup the kids and go to an evening high school tour. They provided lots of food which was great, saved me having to cook late in the evening!

Why I wore it:

This was a bit of a busy day! Cooper had the vets in the morning, then I had a fun art class with friends, and used my mother's day gift to treat myself to a pamper session in the evening. So busy, but fun! It was a rainy start to the day so I did wonder if I should have worn boots instead of Converse, but thankfully the rain dried up quickly and it was really warm when the sun came out. I didn't even need my trench coat by lunch time. the long sleeves on this dress helped.

This was a great first wearing of this beautiful Jasse dress I picked up in the latest Salty Crush sale - it got a lot of compliments in art class and I thankfully avoided getting it dirty with the materials! It was such a delight to wear, and I'm so pleased I bought this dress, even if it does look a little similar to the dress I'm wearing below.


Last worn: denim trench coat, brown Converse, Chloe Ethel bag. It's the first time I've shared the earrings on the blog and Jaase dress on the blog as they are recent purchases.

Why I wore it:

Unlike the dress above that was an online sale purchase, this peachy pastel print floral dress is an opshop find! it's a lot cheaper, at just $1, and a slightly different set of colours and a babydoll waist style with much fewer buttons. I still think that when posted side by side like this in almost identical layers with this denim trench, the two dresses look every similar. I think there is certainly room for both in my wardrobe though!

This was a busy but less fun day, with another vet visit for Cooper, the school run, a couple of errands, and working from home. I knotted the tassel on this dress at the neckline as with the blue statement earrings I couldn't decide on a necklace. I like the way this dress looks tied up too, I'll need to try that with the tassels on the dress above also one day.
