Red Tees Black Shorts and Printed Cover Ups

Adding some printed cover ups to these black shorts and red tee outfits, with comfortable sneakers and black bags.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Shein black floral print cover up
NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
ShortsJeanswest Sara distressed hot short
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun evening! I had to work from home, and then the kids and I headed down the coast for dinner with my sister at my parent's house. It's a good meet up point between both our houses. And while we both had long days, it was good to catch up and spend some time together. The boys had been looking forward to it for a while!

I did consider wearing jeans instead of shorts - as it is autumn - but I was plenty warm while working from home, and I thought this dark floral cover up would keep me warm as well in the evening. It did get a little chilly though, and I did wish I'd worn jeans before we went home. Will need to wear this floral cover up with jeans next time. I'll probably wear it with red again too, I really liked the coral red tee with the red in the floral print.
Decided to try something a little different with these black printed shorts and add another black print on top. The cover up and shorts are both a black background with a small white print so I thought they would work nicely together. I really liked the combination, especially with the red tee in-between for a touch of colour.

I haven't always enjoyed print mixing with these shorts but it was good to try something different, and I really liked this outfit! Added the practical New Balance sneakers and my big Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag for a day in the park. Making the most of the beautiful weather on the public holiday, we took the kids to the local park to practice skateboarding on the boards they recently got from my parents. And then after tiring themselves out on their boards, they were able to run around in the playground for a bit.

Last worn: black print cover up, red tee, sunburst necklace, black printed shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff studded unlined tote bag.

Other ways to wearblack print cover up with grey, red tee and culotte shorts, black printed shorts and cardigan, Rebecca Minkoff studded unlined tote bag and blazer.

Printed Tanks and Midi Skirts With 5-Zip Bag

Just like my previous post, sticking to a simple outfit formula and repeating it over again. Unlike the last time I tried this though, I didn't like both of these outfits equally. Both are midi skirt and Converse outfits for work, with printed tanks and my Rebecca Minkoff blue 5-zip bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: silver heart long pendant necklace
Top: Jeanswest Elissa leaf print tank
Skirt: thrifted &Me blue linen button up midi skirt with pockets
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
Bagvintage original Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip in faded electric blue

Why I wore it:

I realised it had been a while since I'd worn this fern print tank so figured I'd better get a wear in before the autumn weather really arrives in Brisbane! With the blue in the fern print, this blue linen button up midi skirt seemed like an obvious pairing. I then added more blue with the Converse and the faded electric blue Rebecca Minkoff 5-Zip bag.

I wanted something light to wear as we had another team lunch at an outdoor restaurant - this was good for the aircon in the office but cool enough to wear outside with the linen fabric.

Last worn: fern print tank, silver heart necklace, button up linen midi skirt, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag.

Other ways to wearfern print tank and jeans, button up linen midi skirt and neutral tank, blue Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag and denim.

What I wore:

Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Top: Jeanswest Florence print long line tank
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bagvintage original Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip in faded electric blue

Why I wore it:

This outfit, while the same formula as the outfit above, I didn't like as much. It's a midi skirt and printed tank, again with Converse and the faded electric blue Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip bag. I wasn't sure because of the broderie fabric on the skirt if the printed tank looked too busy with it. While the tank is a neutral with browns and creams in the crosshatch print they are a bit busy together.

I felt it worked enough to give it a try that morning, I just kept wondering through the day if the outfit looked a bit much with the print and the detailed skirt fabric. I think if it had been a plain tank or a plain skirt I would have liked this a bit more. Still, was okay for a day in the office and not every outfit will be one I love.

Last worn: brown printed tank, Tiffany necklace, green broderie midi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip bag (above).

Other ways to wearbrown printed tank and pencil skirt, green broderie midi skirt in festive outfit, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip bag with red.

Black, Pink and Lilac Skinny Jeans Outfits

With some cooler and wetter autumn days I pulled out the jeans for days in the office. Both of these black and pink outfits are accessorised with my little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold pendant chandelier earrings
Blouse: Kmart black batwing button up blouse
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans (new purchase)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs black leather Swarovski beaded wrap bracelet
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

I was glad when we had a little bit of cooler, wetter autumn weather as it meant I could give these jeans a wear! They are a recent opshop buy, I scored them for just $2 and they are super comfortable. Paired them with this equally comfortable black batwing top which I really love wearing. I haven't worn it much over the warmer months since I got it for Christmas, but I know it will get a lot of wear this autumn.

With the casual pink frayed hem jeans and Converse I tried to dress this up a little with the statement gold earrings, although they were mostly chosen because I couldn't decide on a necklace! The lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag has been such a staple lately and I really like the lilac shade against the pink jeans.

Last worn: gold earrings, black button up top, wrap bracelet, white Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini. First time I've worn the jeans as they are a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearblack button up top and pencil skirt, white Converse and maxi skirt, Polene Numero Neuf mini and navy dress.

Perfect for pregnancywhite Converse in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
Cami: thrifted Kmart dusty rose cami
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

Another jeans and Converse outfit! This even earlier start and trip to work meant I added a blazer too. Although it wasn't needed in the heat of the day I appreciated it in the colder morning and the blazer works well in the office to cover up the spaghetti straps of the cami.

This cami is a lovely dusky shade of pink, although in the early morning lighting it looks almost orange here. I still like the lilac Polene bag with it, I've worn this bag with orange before and liked the combination then too. The cami just looks a lot more pink in person.

Again I went with Converse, they are a good practical choice in the rain! And my favourite pair of black skinny jeans, which like the cami, are also an opshop find.

Last worn: grey blazer, dusky pink cami, gold circle necklace, faded black skinny jeans, black Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag (above).

Other ways to weargrey blazer and dress, dusky pink cami and denim skirt, faded black skinny jeans and florals, black Converse and pencil skirt, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag and printed dress.

Yellow Tees and Printed Pieces

Two yellow tee and skirts outfits I wore recently, both with statement printed pieces and a neutral little tan crossbody bag. This Rebecca Minkoff almond MAB camera bag goes with everything!

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
Necklace: thrifted gold and pastel blue beaded necklace with grey string
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in elfin yellow
Skirt: JayJays distressed denim mini skirt
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB Camera Bag in almond

Why I wore it:

We had a very fun afternoon planned! It was threatening to rain, but it held off in the morning, as the boys waited patiently for me to wrap up working from home so we could head to the park for a playdate. Unfortunately, the rain set in later, and we couldn't have a playdate at the park as planned. Luckily I was able to quickly get some tickets to a nearby indoor play area, along with what felt like the rest of Brisbane, and the boys were able to run around and let off some steam.

I'd picked this outfit to be colourful but comfortable. The bleached denim skirt and pastel yellow tee are really nice together, and the green floral duster on top added a little warmth when the weather cooled off later with the rain, and some extra colour for video calls as I worked.

Comfortable Adidas Superstar sneakers were my choice for closed in shoes in case of rain - I was glad I'd picked them over sandals when the rain did set in!

Last worn: green floral duster, pastel yellow tee, blue and gold necklace, denim mini skirt, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag.

Other ways to weargreen floral duster and jeans, pastel yellow tee and maxi skirt, denim mini skirt and leopard print, Adidas Superstar sneakers and dress, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag and shorts.

What I wore:

TeeCotton On The One fitted v tee in washed summer mango
Skirt: Target animal print ruffle hem mini skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB Camera Bag in almond

Why I wore it:

Another yellow tee outfit, this time with leopard print instead of florals. I wanted something easy and again light to wear. It was a warmer day, with an eventful morning thanks to some wildlife in our garden! I won't go into detail, but suffice to say I needed a cheerful and bright outfit to take my mind off of the morning's events.

This bright mango tee and the simple animal print skirt were exactly what I needed. I liked how well the almond MAB camera bag worked with the bright yellow tee as well as the browns in the animal print skirt. Comfortable Converse were a must too as we set off for DFO outlets to do a bit of birthday shopping for an upcoming birthday. It was a lovely relaxed day, we were very successful in our shopping and we all walked away for something with ourselves too, as usually happens! I picked up a tee in the last store we were in, reduced to just $10!

Last worn: yellow tee, gold circle necklace, leopard print skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag (above).

Magnificent 8 In Pantone Colour Of The Year Peach Fuzz

For this quarter's Magnificent 8 collaboration post, we picked the theme of Peach Fuzz! It's the Pantone colour of the year for 2024. And like most of the colours from previous years, I have a couple of pieces already in my wardrobe that could allow me to embrace the trend without buying anything new.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Equip gold and marble station necklace
Dress: thrifted peach and white floral print tiered sundress
Shoes: thrifted white leather All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a busy day with the school run, an appointment for my son, and working from home. While it was autumn, it was still pretty hot so I needed something light and quick to wear, this dress was perfect. It isn't completely matching the peach fuzz colour of the year, but it certainly has tones of that peach in the print.

And since I had the colour in mind for this post I went all out and paired the peach palm print dress with the small Rebecca Minkoff Love bag in peachy pale coral. I wouldn't have paired the dress and bag together without the prompt of this collaboration post, but I'm glad I did wear them together as I really liked the combination! Was great to give this thrifted dress another wear before the autumn weather really arrives in Brisbane too.

Last worn: tiered palm print dress, thrifted station necklace, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag. First time I've worn the Converse as they are a recent opshop find.

Other ways to weartiered palm print dress and denim jacket, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag and jeans.

What I wore:

Necklace: Ruby Olive Art series long striped pod necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered frill mini dress in Papaya
Shoes: thrifted white leather All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral

Why I wore it:

Wore this for weekend swim lessons and then an overdue catch up with my friend at her place. It was predicted to be cooler day than the one above, so I thought I'd wear ankle boots with this linen dress. The rain held off until later in the evening though so I went with the same leather Converse again.

And once more I wore the peach small Rebecca Minkoff Love bag. I liked the combination with the yellow. Again, it was this post that gave me the idea of pairing the dress and bag together, I'd never thought of wearing the two together before. But knowing I was going to feature this peach bag in the post as it so perfectly meets the theme, and seeing this dress in my wardrobe, I wanted to give them a try. Loved this combination also!

Last worn: tiered linen dress, Ruby Olive necklace, leather Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff small love bag (above).

Other ways to weartiered linen dress and blue bag, Rebecca Minkoff small love bag and maxi dress.

Navy and Pink Pencil Skirt and Tee Outfits With Grey Mini MAB Bag

More office outfits, with two navy and pink tee and pencil skirt combinations. I like how a casual tee and pencil skirt outfit feels a little formal for the office now after 2020 - even without a blazer I still feel suitably dressed up. Both outfits I'm wearing my Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag and my trusty black Converse. Both accessories go with everything.

What I wore:

Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in azalea pink
SkirtWarehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Why I wore it:

It was another rainy autumn day in Brisbane so I needed to bring a bit of colour - and this tee is such a nice cheerful shade of pink! Wore it with my navy jacquard pencil skirt, which surprisingly I have not yet hit 30 wears with yet. It's such a nice pencil skirt for in the office, I really like the jacquard texture for something a little different.

I went a little matchy-matchy with the navy beaded necklace matching the skirt, and then classic neutral accessories against the pink tee with the grey Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag and the black Converse.

Last worn: pink tee, navy and gold beaded necklace, jacquard pencil skirt, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag.

Other ways to wearpink tee and printed jeans, jacquard pencil skirt and green, black Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag worn 30 ways.

What I wore:

Necklace: silver twisted chain necklace
Tee: thrifted Marcs navy lurex detail foil tee
SkirtCotton On 'Mica' mesh spot skirt in dusty pink
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Why I wore it:

Another office day, another navy and pink pencil skirt and tee outfit! Again I picked the same accessories with this with the black Converse and the grey Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag. They just go with everything!

I went with a pink skirt this time - just like the jacquard navy pencil skirt above, this mesh and polka dot one is textured and very fun to wear. I like the pale pink, and it pairs nicely with the navy tee. As I say every time I wear this tee, I wish the navy lurex thread woven through it showed up in photos - it's a really nice detail in person and impossible to miss the sparkle it gives! With the silver thread in the tee and the silver hardware on the Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag, a silver necklace was an obvious choice and this one was overdue another wear.

Last worn: navy lurex tee, silver statement necklace, textured polka dot pencil skirt, black Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy lurex tee and leopard print, textured polka dot pencil skirt in winter, black Converse and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag worn 30 ways.

Pink Kmart Dresses In The Office With Blue Mini MAC Bag

Two very similar outfits I wore to work recently, both with Kmart fuchsia pink dresses and my little blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: navy and silver circle pendant tassel necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Surprisingly, despite loving blue and pink together, I haven't worn this sky blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag with this fuchsia pink tiered midi dress before. It seems like such an obvious combo! It was good to give it a wear, and to wear something bright for another day in the office.

Added some comfortable Adidas Superstar sneakers too, which were a very practical choice as it ended up being a pretty rainy day. Thankfully the big work issued bag I have for my work laptop has plenty space for an umbrella.

Last worn: Kmart tiered midi dress, navy tassel necklace, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.

Other ways to wearKmart tiered midi dress and yellow, Adidas Superstar sneakers and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Necklace: Gold beaded statement multi strand necklace
Dressthrifted Kmart short sleeve godet skirt linen blend dress in fuchsia
Belt: came with dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the combination of the fuchsia pink dress with the little bluey-grey Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag in the outfit above, I repeated it again a few days later!

This Kmart linen blend dress was an opshop find and I really like it with blue. Even though the blue Converse sneakers aren't the same shade as the little mini MAC bag I liked the two blues together, and I've worn these Converse with this dress many times before. Added the gold beaded statement necklace to dress it up a little more for the office. Just like the two different blues, I think the two different golds in the necklace and on the hardware and strap of the bag still work together, despite being different.

This dress is one that makes me smile even if I am just wearing it into the office!

Belted Printed Dresses With Converse and Polene Numero Neuf Mini Bag

Getting two pretty printed dresses out again that hadn't been worn in a while. While both are very different in style, colour and print, they both work so well for a day in the office. And my little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag compliments each of them nicely!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Equip gold and marble station necklace
Dress: Jeanswest Aztec print dress
Belt: Kmart thin gold glitter belt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

I'm not sure why I haven't hit 30 wears with this dress yet - it was such an office staple pre-pandemic! It's been a little neglected lately so it was good to get it out again. Despite the darker navy and black in the print, I thought the light blue Converse would be a good accessory with it and I liked the combination. Dressed this up a little with some gold accessories - the pretty glitter belt always gets compliments! And much like the dress, this statement necklace hasn't been worn in a while either and was overdue another wear. Was good to get them both out again!

I did have a lunch date in the city during the work day, but still didn't need to carry much, especially as I have a big work issued laptop bag I take to the office with me. So this little Polene Numero Neuf mini bag was all I needed for carrying the essentials. And I really like the pastel lilac against the navy of the ikat print on the dress.

Last worn: ikat print dress, gold 5 station necklace, gold glitter belt, blue Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag.

Other ways to wearikat print dress and scarf, blue Converse and midi skirt, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag and leopard print.

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart pink resin teardrop statement earrings
NecklaceTiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
Dress: Kmart long sleeve black tie neck dress in floral wisteria print
Belt: came with dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

Another printed dress for the office. This one comes with it's own long sash belt in the same fabric as the dress, but I did really like the glitter belt with the dress above so maybe I should have tried the glitter belt with this dress too! Something to remember for next time I wear it. The pink resin earrings are something I've worn with this dress in the past, as are the black Converse which go with everything.

I like pink and blue and purple together, so with the light pink and blue in the wisteria floral print of the dress the little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag again seemed like a great accessory. And I loved the dress and bag together, one of those perfect combinations! Like the earrings and Converse, I'm going to have to wear this bag again with this dress in future!

Last worn: pink resin earrings, Tiffany necklace, Kmart wisteria print midi dress, black Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag (above).

Maxi Skirts With Colourful Tees and Matching Bags

Making the most of some very quiet days in the office lately with just a couple of my team members to wear these simple maxi skirts and plain tee outfits. I did add some big statement necklaces to try dress up the tees a little, and had a little bit of matchy-matchy with my accessories, wearing bags in similar colours to the tees in each outfit.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
Tee:  thrifted Target crew neck tee coral red
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus black beaded bracelet stack and red beaded bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

Why I wore it:

This was one of those days where nothing goes to plan, starting off with being late in the morning! Always the worst and meant I was rushing into the office after school drop off. At least I'd planned my outfit the night before so it was easy to throw on and go in the morning.

Felt this black maxi skirt was due another wear. I see a lot more maxi skirts and dresses in the office than I ever did pre-pandemic, and I love it! With the plain black maxi skirt I added more colour with the coral tee, and then stuck with the red theme adding this burgundy beaded multi strand necklace and the little burgundy Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag. Added yet another shade of red with the red beaded bracelet in my bracelet stack too. Even though none of the shades of reds match exactly, I really liked them all together in this outfit.

Last worn: coral tee, multi strand necklace, black maxi skirt, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearcoral tee and jeans, black maxi skirt and leather jacket, black Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag and floral dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton On The one crew tee in green
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

Another quiet day in the office - although I wasn't running late and rushing around on this day and it went a whole lot better! Since I liked the outfit above so much, I did the next best thing for this office day and wore the same outfit formula with different pieces. Repeating an outfit formula is something I like to do a lot, less effort than thinking up a whole new outfit!

This leopard print maxi skirt has been a firm favourite since I thrifted it and I thought I'd try pair it with green for something a little different. This green crew neck tee is an opshop find too! And while not the perfect match with the green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag I did like the different shades of green together.

As in the outfit above, I added the big wooden multi strand statement necklace to try make this a little more dressed up for the office.

Last worn: green crew neck tee, black statement necklace, leopard print maxi skirt, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag.

Other ways to weargreen crew neck tee and pencil skirt, leopard print maxi skirt with red, Adidas Superstar sneakers and dress, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and jeans.
