Blue and Pink: Jeans, White Tee and Scarf Outfits With Blush Darren Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, sharing two magenta and black outfits with my blush pink Darren bag and blue scarves.

Sometimes I'm organised enough to plan outfits in advance, which is what I'd done here. However it was such cold and windy mornings the week I'd planned to wear these outfits I had the choice of saving them for another day or adding a scarf. Went with the last minute scarf addition to both outfits to give me that little extra warmth, rather than planning out all new outfits in the morning rushes to get out the door in time for school drop off!

What I wore:

cobalt and magenta scarf and floral kimono outfit with white tee and black jeans | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony with black jeans | awayfromtheblue

ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs bright blue stole
TeeAtmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)

Why I wore it:

I've never tried to wear a scarf with this light long sleeve kimono before! I'd planned this outfit for a Monday during a very warm weekend afternoon so when I woke up to a cold and windy day I decided to give a scarf a try. I think this really worked, although the cosy scarf and light jacket do contradict a bit - the cobalt blue matches the leaves in the floral print so well I felt so happy wearing them together.

I liked the colour combo of the blush bag with the magenta jacket too, and of course a white tee and black jeans go with everything!

Such a good outfit for the school run, working from home, and then school pick up in the afternoon.

Last worn: floral print kimono, Marc Jacobs scarf, white v-neck tee, faded black skinny jeans, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag.

Other ways to wear floral print kimono and shorts, Marc Jacobs scarf and dress, white v-neck tee and shorts, faded black skinny jeans and double denim, black Converse and striped dress, Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag and maxi skirt.

Rebecca Minkoff Darren Messenger Bag Review:

What I wore:

black and white striped maxi cardigan with blue scarf magenta jeans blush pink Darren bag | awayfromtheblue

ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)

Why I wore it:

Despite the day being a lot windier than the one above, I was actually really warm in this outfit and took the scarf off after helping in my son's classroom in the morning. I had a busy day, with the school run, working from home, and all the last minute shopping and preparation for my son's party the next day. I think all the running around was what kept me warm, more than the outfit, as this long sleeved striped duster isn't the thickest material.

Was the perfect outfit for a busy day though - I liked the extra colour from the blue scarf, and again this is a magenta and black outfit with the black and white stripes and magenta jeans. Just as in the first outfit, I thought the blush pink bag was a nice pairing with the brighter magenta pink. Again I wore my black Converse, as I had a lot of running around to do!

Last worn: striped maxi cardigan, white tee, magenta jeans, black Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff peony pink Darren (above). First time I've worn the scarf as it was a Christmas gift.

Other ways to wearstriped maxi cardigan and dress, white tee and printed jeans, magenta jeans and blazer, black Converse and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff peony pink Darren and sundress.

Perfect for pregnancyblack Converse in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Jeans and a tee can still work in winter, just with a few extra layers like a long sleeved kimono or cardigan, and of course a big cosy scarf. A scarf is a great way to add more colour to your outfit too.

Blue Knits, Colourful Jeans and Chloe Ethel Bag

Wearing two blue thrifted knits, a new one I picked up on an opshop trip back in summer, and an older one also from an opshop, that's been in my wardrobe a few years. Paired with colourful jeans and some cosy scarves, because it's a chilly winter here in Brisbane!

What I wore:

blue and pink jeans and jumper outfit with navy polka dot scarf converse and magenta jeans | awayfromblue

chloe small ethel bag in light khaki handheld | awayfromblue

Scarf: Target Sadie woven scarf in blue spot print
Jumper: thrifted blue Kmart stitch detail knit
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

I really liked the colours in this outfit! I like blue and pink together and this knit was perfect with the magenta jeans. While I thrifted the knit back in December this is the first time I've worn it. It looks like it's never been worn and it was just $1 so I couldn't pass it up in the opshop even though I knew it would be a while before I wore it! Because it was an extra cold morning I added a scarf to keep cosy. I wasn't sure at first which one to go with but I liked the navy against the paler blue of the jumper and polka dots are always cute.

Nice simple outfit for the school run, working from home, and sports in the evening. Even if I did need to take the scarf off for the school pickup in the afternoon as the day had warmed up so much!

Last worn: polka dot scarf, magenta jeans, white Converse, Chloe Ethel bag. First time I've worn the blue jumper since I thrifted it back in summer.

Other ways to wearpolka dot scarf and stripes, magenta jeans and blazer, white Converse and maxi skirt, Chloe Ethel bag and striped dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What Fits Inside Chloe Ethel Bag:

What I wore:

Jumper: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

This ended up being a really wet day! The rain barely let up! I wanted my cosiest scarf so I pulled out this studded paisley print infinity scarf / snood that I always enjoy using in winter. While the taupe shade is different from the more caramel tone of the Chloe Ethel bag, I thought the accessories looked nice together, and I always love blue and green! These olive jeans go with everything.

Wore this for a busy weekend day - with a bunch of errands, a library trip, and of course having to vote as well as it was back in May.

Last worn: cobalt marle knit, Paisley print snood, olive jeans, New Balance sneakers, Chloe Ethel bag (above).

Other ways to wearcobalt marle knit and maxi skirt, Paisley print snood and dress, olive jeans worn 30 ways, Chloe Ethel bag and pink dress.

Perfect for pregnancyblue jumper in first trimester, Paisley print snood in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Jeans and a jumper is such a simple winter outfit, and you can always add a little extra warmth and print with a scarf.

Printed Dresses and Prune Rebecca Minkoff MAC Bag

Sharing two navy dresses and ankle boots outfits I wore back in May, accessorised with this adorable prune Rebecca Minkoff MAC that I got for Mother's Day.

What I wore:

Jaase Celine autumn leaves mini dress with ankle boots and prune MAC crossbody bag | awayfromtheblue

Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain Jaase autumn leaves dress | awayfromblue

Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
DressJaase Celine autumn leaves mini dress
ShoesAtmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual plus pearl and rose gold bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

Wore this to spend Mother's Day down the coast with my family. It was such a fun day and thankfully the middle of the day was rain free so we got to spend a little time outdoors too. I had to wear this new Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag that the boys got me for Mother's Day - I couldn't believe it when I found this discontinued style on eBay, brand new with tags! Convinced hubby I needed it for Mother's Day 😂 The little pom pom tassel charm on it is a cute keyring that the kids got me from the Mother's Day shopping stall at school too.

Although the bag doesn't match the print in this dress I thought it complimented the oranges and reds in the autumn leaf print nicely. And the tan ankle boots were a perfect bit of matchy-matchy with the dress print!

Last worn: Jasse autumn leaves dress, gold necklace, bracelet stacktan ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC.

Other ways to wearJasse autumn leaves dress and sneakers, tan ankle boots and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC and double denim.

Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl black and white cheetah print scarf
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual plus old beaded black bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

This was a much quieter weekend day, but again I went with a navy printed dress and the prune MAC for a pop of colour. As it was a very cold and wet day I added this leopard print scarf too. I like wearing leopard print scarves with this navy striped shift dress, it's a fun way to introduce a little print mixing. With the neutral colours in the scarf and the navy and black stripes on the dress and black ankle boots, this was a very muted outfit. Again the Rebecca Minkoff MAC was the perfect accessory to brighten up my outfit.

Had some books due back at the library and more to pick up - sadly no opportunity for the park or playground as it was such a wet day, but the kids are never bored at the library and we brought home lots of books to read through the wet weekend!

Last worn: navy striped shift dress, black beaded bracelets, black ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC (above). First time I've worn the leopard print scarf as it was a Christmas gift.

Other ways to wearnavy striped shift dress and denim jacketblack ankle boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancynavy striped shift dress in second trimesterblack ankle boots in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

A colourful crossbody bag like this Rebecca Minkoff MAC is a fun pop against a navy dress. Even if your navy dress has a more colourful print on it like in the first outfit, a bright bag can still work with your outfit - it doesn't have to match!

Jeans and Blazers With printed Scarves and Chloe Marcie | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's weekday wear link up, sharing two jeans and blazer outfits I wore for some cold and wet autumn weather in Brisbane.

What I wore:

grey blazer and purple scarf with black jeans and adidas Superstar sneakers | awayfromblue

Chloe Marcie medium bag in nut worn on shoulder | awayfromtheblue

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Scarf: thrifted checked purple pashmina scarf
Tee: thrifted Mix Apparel black marle tee
JeansNobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

This was a bit of a dark outfit, but I picked everything deliberately to let the scarf be the pop of colour! I didn't really need the scarf during the day, I was just working from home, but I knew I'd appreciate the cosy pashmina in the evening when I went to a presentation by Justin Coulson (a parenting expert in Australia). It was nice to catch up with my friends kid-free although it was a little chilly so I was very glad I'd worn the scarf, with all the doors and windows open in the hall.

Wasn't sure if the space dye tee was too patterned to wear with the checked scarf, but gave it a go anyway as I thought it was a bit more interesting than just a plain black tee. I loved the tonal grey and black outfit with the purple scarf, and the Chloe Marcie bag was big enough for all my essentials, a bottle of water, and the parenting books I bought from Justin after his talk!

Last worn: grey jersey blazer, black space dye tee, Nobody Denim charcoal jeans, Adidas Superstar, Chloe Marcie. First time I've worn the scarf as it was a summer opshop buy.

Other ways to weargrey jersey blazer and dress, black space dye tee and printed skirt, Nobody Denim charcoal jeans worn 2 ways, Adidas Superstar and shorts, Chloe Marcie and skirt.

Jacket: Jeanswest Nadine 3/4 sleeve dusky pink blazer
Scarf: thrifted no brand navy grid print scarf
Tee: thrifted Kmart space dye cream and black longline top
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

My boss had a laugh at me all rugged up in this outfit when we had a video call. She's in another state and a much colder state so needing all the layers for 20 degree (Celsius) weather seemed a little overkill to her, ha! It was the first really cold weather in Brisbane for autumn though so I just wanted to be cosy!

Like the outfit above, I wasn't sure if the space dye tee would work with the grid print on the scarf but I liked the combination, I think it went well with the space dye effect. With the blush blazer and the black jeans and brown Chloe Marcie bag though, this is a very different outfit from the one above, where it was much more tonal and monochrome except the scarf and bag. I did like it, pink and blue are always a winner and although this blazer is a lighter one it was just what I needed for the school run in the morning and afternoon with the scarf.

Last worn: blush blazer, white space dye tee, blue grid print scarf, faded black skinny jeans, Converse, Chloe Marcie (above).

Other ways to wearblush blazer worn two ways, white space dye tee and shorts, blue grid print scarf and striped dress, faded black skinny jeans and floral print, Converse and dress, Chloe Marcie and printed dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimesterblush blazer in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Blazers aren't just for the office! They can look great worn casually with jeans too, and a colourful scarf is always a good accessory.

Striped Dresses Scarves Chloe Ethel Bag

Two outfits I wore back at the start of May, when I just needed to add some cute scarves to these summer striped dresses to make them autumn weather appropriate.

What I wore:

Cotton On 'Tina' white striped tee dress in Lissy black / Gardenia with blue windowpane scarf chloe ethel bag and converse | awayfromblue

Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki on arm with striped dress | awayfromtheblue

Scarf: thrifted no brand navy grid print scarf
DressCotton On 'Tina' white striped tee dress in Lissy black / Gardenia
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

Last time I wore this black and white striped tee dress with a blue statement necklace I really liked the combination, so I tried to replicate a similar outfit again with this blue grid print scarf. When I saw the scarf in the opshop I knew it would look so cute worn with striped pieces, and I really liked this outfit! Even if it was a little warm for the scarf in the middle of the day, it was nice in the cooler morning and evening.

Felt my Chloe Ethel bag was overdue another wear, and it was just the right size. I had an appointment to go to in the morning and this fits so much - easily space for all of my essentials plus the latest library book I was reading, for entertainment in the waiting room.

This was such a comfortable outfit too, as aside from the appointment I was just working from home. I've been liking dresses on those kind of days, simple instant outfits!

Last worn: black and white striped tee dress, Converse, Chloe Ethel bag. First time I've worn the blue grid print scarf as I thrifted it back in summer.

Other ways to wearblack and white striped tee dress in winter, Converse and shorts, Chloe Ethel bag and pink dress.

What I wore:

ScarfFashion Scarf Girl parrot print scarf (c/o)
Dress: Target navy and white striped shift dress with frill sleeves
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

Another working from home and school run outfit. Wanted to add some colour to this outfit, but couldn't decide that morning which scarf would look best when the one I'd planned seemed too warm for the day - it was quite humid! This lighter parrot print scarf was one I eventually settled on, and I really liked it with the dress. It did make me a little late to drop the kids off at school though, trying on all these different scarves in the morning. 😂 Thankfully we made it in class before the bell as I was parent helper. It ended up being a much cooler afternoon too so I was wishing when I picked up the kids from school that I had picked the warmer scarf to wear!

Again the Chloe Ethel bag was the perfect neutral bag for this - although I did just have to carry my essentials this time around, I thought the caramel colour was really nice with the print in the scarf.

Last worn: parrot print scarf, navy striped shift dress, blue Converse, Chloe Ethel bag (above).

Other ways to wearparrot print scarf and teal top, navy striped shift dress and statement necklace, blue Converse and midi skirt, Chloe Ethel bag and jeans.

How You Can Wear It:

Stripes are fun to print mix with! For a subtle but still fun print mix, try adding a printed scarf to a striped dress like I have in these outfits.

Weekday Wear Link Up: Navy Striped Dresses and Cream Bags

I love stripes, dresses, definitely love all shades of blue! These navy stripe dresses are certainly must-haves in my wardrobe. One old favourite dress and one new second hand buy, both great for the very varied spring weather we had last month.

What I wore:

navy stripe tee dress with magenta skull scarf and chloe small paddington bag | awayfromblue

navy striped tee dress with Chloe small Paddington in 2006 blanc cream | awayfromtheblue

ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagChloe small Paddington in 2006 blanc

Why I wore it:

This was such a busy day! As well as the school run and our usual library visit I had an appointment at an office on the north side of Brisbane that I wasn't feeling too confident about driving too. I'd been so preoccupied about the appointment that when my friend texted me in the morning reminding me about drinks that night I realised I'd gone and forgotten all about them! Luckily this outfit I was wearing worked for everything, during the day and at night for drinks. The benefit of having drinks at a friend's house means not needing to get overly dressed up.

With the wild weather and a bit of rain and wind the scarf was the perfect way to add a little extra warmth and some more colour to this navy striped tee dress. I really liked the way the black skull print on the scarf matches the black stripes in the dress as well. And this neutral small cream Chloe Paddington bag goes with everything too. The sneakers were essentials to support my knee with all the driving around.

Luckily the storms that day didn't hang around long - we did get a little wet when we arrived at the library but the sun was shining again by the time we left, and it was dry for the school pickup and drop off.

What I wore:

Target frill sleeve navy stripe shift tee dress with Adidas Superstar sneakers LV neverfull | awayfromblue

navy stripe shift dress target with Louis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull on shoulder | away from the blue

NecklaceStarfish Project Veronica short yellow multi strand necklace
Dress: Target navy and white striped shift dress with frill sleeves
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

Why I wore it:

This was not such a busy day, a much more relaxed day! We went out to a little local carnival. There were a lot of market stalls, some yummy fundraising food, and the highlight for the kids was of course the petting zoo.

I figured I'd wear my new navy striped dress - aren't the ruffles on the sleeves cute? I picked this up at the Glad Rags markets for just $5, a great second hand buy. Added a little extra colour to the navy with this yellow statement necklace, but I'm thinking I'll try a longer necklace next time. I did like the sneakers with this though, very comfortable as the event was a lot busier than I expected it to be and the lines (particularly for the petting zoo) were super long so there was a bit of standing around.

The Louis Vuitton Neverfull was perfect for carrying all our water bottles and of course my camera. I got some really cute photos with the kids and the animals.

How You Can Wear It

A navy striped dress is a great wardrobe basic. Try adding some extra colour to the neutral stripes with a bright accessory, like a printed scarf or statement necklace.

Neutral Dresses and Pink Bags - Weekday Wear Link Up

Two more easy outfits for back in the school holidays at the end of September. With the nice weather for quite a few days of the holidays, simple dresses were all that was needed for the warmer days.

What I wore:

black and white striped tee dress with blue skull scarf, Converse and magenta pink Balenciaga day hobo bag | awayfromblue

Balenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta with black and white striped dress | awayfromblue

ScarfAlexander McQueen skull scarf in light blue
DressAll About Eve striped black tee dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagBalenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta

Why I wore it:

Decided to layer up this dress just a little with the blue scarf. This Alexander McQueen scarf is quite a light one but  was just the perfect light layer for sitting around in the shade watching the kids playing and climbing in the playground. It was a littler cooler than I expected in the morning before it turned into a hot day. Just like the last time I wore this scarf too I couldn't resist going a little matchy-matchy with the blue Converse. I love Converse with this dress!

You might notice that the contrast texture sleeves on this dress don't quite look the same from the last time I wore this dress. The pleather degraded over time (remembering I got this dress second hand from my sister), as pleather doesn't do well in the heat here in Brisbane. I ended up peeling it off the shoulders and keeping the little pleather border on the edges of the sleeves. Doesn't look as good as it did before, but still wearable and I really like this dress and want to keep it around in my wardrobe.

Felt that this beautiful magenta Balenciaga day bag was overdue a wear, it hadn't been used in a while. And it's certainly big enough for snacks and all our water bottles. Even fully loaded like that it was quite comfortable to wear on my shoulder for the little detour we took after the playground to enjoy a dino expo and archaeology activity for the kids before heading home.

What I wore:

grey asos skater dress with pink jean mac crossbody bag and adidas superstar sneakers | awayfromblue

grey dress with Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC bag in fig pink | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: thrifted Mix Apparel clover designer inspired necklace
DressAsos grey skater dress
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff Jean MAC bag in fig

Why I wore it:

It was a lot warmer when I wore this outfit so I didn't add a scarf, but looking at the photos afterward this probably could have used a little extra colour from a scarf. I thought the plain grey dress would be a nice backdrop for my recently thrifted necklace, but something a little bolder would have worked a bit better I think. The Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody bag was a nice pop of colour, just feel this looks a little less colourful than the outfit above.

Was very comfortable for a busy day with a doctor's appointment, the library and a trip to the playground. Unfortunately at the playground a little kid learning to ride their bike that hadn't yet mastered the art of stopping or using a brake came right up behind me at full speed while I was distracted with the boys and I have a lovely big bruise on the back of my leg where my leg kindly stopped the spinning wheel. 😂

Last worn: grey skater dress, clover necklace, Adidas Superstar, Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody.

Other ways to weargrey skater dress and blazer, Adidas Superstar and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody and monochrome blue shorts outfit.

Perfect for pregnancygrey skater dress in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

A pink bag is a fun pop of colour with a neutral dress. Any shade of pink works well! You can try other colourful accessories like I have in the first pic with the blue scarf and shoes too, or just keep everything neutral like the second outfit and let the bag be the sole burst of colour.
