What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart navy and gold beaded tassel necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Shorts: Jeanswest Trinity Bermuda denim shorts
Shoes: Purple high top Converse look-a-likes
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)
Why I wore it:
I have been reaching for this tropical floral print duster a lot recently! It's such a staple for me and with all the different colours in the print, it goes with so much. I realised I hadn't yet worn this lilac tee with it, so had to give it a try. There isn't any purple in the print at all but I still thought this tee went nicely with the kimono, due to the navy background. I love blue and purple together! The lilac tee has been worn with this pretty peony pink Rebecca Minkoff Darren messenger bag before - such a nice pink and purple combination, the pastel shades work well together.
Wore this for the school run, and some time volunteering in my youngest son's classroom, before working from home until school pickup in the afternoon. We had a little bit of shopping to do once I picked up the kids, to get a birthday present for a party that weekend.
Last worn: tropical floral duster, lilac tee, navy and gold tassel necklace, Bermuda denim shorts, purple high tops, Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag.
Other ways to wear: tropical floral duster and skirt, lilac tee and printed jeans, Bermuda denim shorts worn 30 ways, purple high tops and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag and double denim.
Perfect for pregnancy: purple tee in second trimester.
Jacket: Target Karolina summer kimono in purple black floral
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: Atmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine
Skirt: thrifted Target black stretch denim skirt
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)

3 Ways To Wear: Rebecca Minkoff Darren Messenger Bag

Tee: Atmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine
Skirt: thrifted Target black stretch denim skirt
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)
Why I wore it:
this wine tee is really more of a burgundy than a true purple, but I think the purple in it really comes out when it's paried with this pretty darker purple floral print kimono. I loved this combiantion, with the wine tee and the dark floral print and black denim. Perfect for a hot autumn day! The light peony pink Rebecca Minkoff Darren messenger bag I wasn't sure about with the farker colours, but I think it contrasted nicely and I ended up just loving the colours in this!Just needed something comfortable for the usual routine on a weekday - working from home and school run to pick up the kids. Tee and denim are perfect for that.
Last worn: purple floral kimono, wine oversized tee, beaded necklace, black denim skirt, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Darren messenger (above).
Other ways to wear: purple floral kimono and pink shorts, wine oversized tee and maxi skirt, black denim skirt and stripes, Rebecca Minkoff Darren messenger and midi dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: wine oversized tee in third trimester.

Oooh Mica, I love both of these outfits! You know my fondness for kimonos especially dark floral ones! The light purple tee really does look fabulous with the navy kimono. It is a super striking and eye catching combination. Actually both outfits are!

I'll be pulling out my kimonos soon as the weather heats up and my shorts come out! Love all the colors in these kimonos, makes pairing so much easier.
ReplyDeleteHave a super week!

They are such great pieces for warm weather layering!
DeleteBoth outfits are great, but I like especially the first one.
ReplyDeleteKisses
both outfits are cute! I tend to buy the same colors over and over and I need to branch out into colors that are not my go to palette.
ReplyDeleteYes I've been trying to be more colourful with my shopping and inject a bigger range of colours into my wardrobe! I still find green a little tricky to style though!
DeleteI really like the second combo, the colors go beautiful together.
ReplyDeleteI love the purple tee and purple convo together. Volunteer work is nice too. I like the darker colours together as well, brings out the colours in the kimono. The bag looks great in both. Hope you have a great week Mica : )

I love a matching top + shoes, so the lilac T + Converse combination is right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to be a little matchy-matchy!
DeleteTotally understand why you love this duster, Mica:) It's such a versatile piece and the colour really suits you! And I must admit I haven't done the purple and pink combo, but I should totally give it a go:) You totally inspired me:)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week ahead!
Glad I could inspire you! I just love pink and purple together!
DeleteBoth outfits are so incredible. I just love those dusters...and the second look with that rich purple shirt is especially stunning. You have such an eye for colour!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Thank you! I'm really trying to be more open to different colour pairings - after all it's only clothes and I change them at the end of the day so I want to experiment a bit more!
DeleteBoth of these outfits look so comfy and pretty, friend! I always love your kimonos, I need more of those in my closet!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a fantastic week, Mica!

I love both kimonos but especially loving the first one. The colors are so pretty and I can see why it works so well with so many other outfits. I also love your Darren bag. I actually regret not buying the mini version of this bag when it was available. So so cute! I hope your day is going well so far and happy Monday!

It is such a cute take on the Darren, I'm sad it was discontinued!
DeleteBoth of these outfit are awesome. I hope you have a great week.

I gave one of my kimonos a moment in the sun a few days ago and I definitely plan on wearing it again soon and sharing it on my blog. Thanks for the reminder of how easy it can be to style them.

Glad you could give it a wear! I agree, they are so easy to style, definitely a staple in my wardrobe!
DeleteLove both outfits you look great..
ReplyDeleteNice combos.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfits, Mica! I think the second one is more successful - the colours are so rich together, and interact so harmoniously. Although you've done a classic "bookend" of the purple top and shoes, the lack of that purple tone in the kimono throws me off - I think it's that the purple is a cool tone, and the kimono is warmer tones, maybe?
ReplyDeleteYou still look adorable!!
Saw you comment - congrats on getting that white bag! Let me know when you want to discuss the design.
I definitely see that, I don't love the purple tee with the kimono as much as I have with other colours, but it was good to try different things! And I feel the lilac really brought out the red - I need to try wear this kimono with more red!
DeleteThat pale pink Rebecca Minkoff crossbody seems like such a versatile bag—think I will look for one in a similar color next time ;)
ReplyDeleteCheryl Shops | www.cherylshops.net
It has been such a surprisingly versatile piece in my wardrobe!
DeleteI love those kinds of kimonos with a print that has so many colors in it. Like you said, they go with everything.

ReplyDeleteLos dos kimonos te quedan muy bien, pero me gusto mas el primer outfit, saludos:D
ReplyDeletePurple is my favorite color so I love these outfits. That darker purple looks really nice on you. :)
ReplyDeleteThese kimonos are the perfect transitional layer for a warmer day! I love how they add such nice pops of print and color to your outfits, too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great week so far!

I love your kimono. I never had a kimono, but looking at your outfit I wonder why, it's so beautiful and looks so great. You look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNice kimono ❤
ReplyDeleteHello Mica, I hope you're enjoying the new season!
ReplyDeleteI think these looks are great for transitional seasons. And I love how your kimonos add a touch of glam to everyday outfits and the way you can spice your looks with light layers. I think the first one is my favorite, as you well said it doesn't have purple but it looks really well with the lilac of the top :)
Best from Barcelona!

Your flowy kimono toppers are so pretty. Such a summery chic vibe it lends to both outfits. I love how you kept it casual in sneakers! Gorgeous black denim skirt too! I like how you styled it. Hope you and kiddos are keeping well and healthy. Looks like the sun's out there already. We just had a strong pour today but luckily, it'd already stopped! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI loved it! Very beautiful ♥

You are a pro at pairing kimonos and tees! These are super cute outfits!
ReplyDeleteAlthough you look wonderful in both of these outfits, like you I really loved the combination of darker colours in the second one. The rich colour of that tee is gorgeous and works really well with the purple floral print kimono! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt was something I'm so glad I tried - I need to wear that wine tee more often, it can go with a lot!
DeleteYou look great in both of those outfits and I love those kimonos! Have a nice week Mica.
ReplyDeleteLove both these looks. Especially the pops of purple in your first outfit :)
ReplyDeleteLove both kimonos, they're super cool.
ReplyDeletelove your look :)

I was trying to decide if I wanted to hold on to my kimono the other day but now seeing it on you, I know I want to hold on to it a little bit longer. It looks great both ways, and I just love it with the skirt for a dressed up look but it totally works with jean shorts for a casual look and it's how I would most often wear it too. Can't wait for summer! Hope you are having a good week so far.
ReplyDeletebosbodaciousblog.blogspot.ca
Hope you can give the kimono a lot of wear over summer! I like to wear mine a lot! :)
DeleteMica,
ReplyDeleteI love them both!!! So pretty!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
