What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart blue multi-colour beaded necklace
Dress: Jeanswest Sophia high-low maxi dress
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Balenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta
Why I wore it:
This mandala print high-low maxi dress is so very pretty! With the fabric, print and little ruffle on the hem, it's quite dressy. Tried to make it a little more casual for this outing to the beach with my mum and the boys one day during the school holidays. It was a chilly morning too and I wasn't sure how windy it would be near the sea. I shouldn't have worried though, ended up taking this jacket off for most of the day as I sat in the sun watching the kids play.
The Converse were another attempt, like the denim jacket, to dress this outfit down a little and I really liked the combination! The blue went so well with the purple mandala print on the dress. So did the magenta Balenciaga day bag that was overdue another wear.
Last worn: denim jacket, wooden bead necklace, mandala print ruffle hem maxi dress, blue Converse, Balenciaga magenta day bag.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket worn 30 ways, mandala print ruffle hem maxi dress for Christmas day, blue Converse and striped shorts, Balenciaga magenta day bag and pencil skirt.
Perfect for pregnancy: denim jacket in second trimester, Balenciaga magenta day bag in third trimester.

Favourite Bag In My Balenciaga Collection:
What I wore:
Earrings: Piper glass beaded chandelier earring in cream and gold
Necklace: Tiffany diamonds by the yard necklace
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
Shoes: Atmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
Bag: Balenciaga envelope clutch in 2012 mangue with giant 12 RGGH
Why I wore it:
Wore this for a colder and wetter Easter Sunday than expected! I had planned to wear this maxi dress, I wore it last year when we had Easter in lockdown so I was determined to wear it again to have a proper Easter celebration with the family. Even if the rain meant I needed a few more layers! As well as the denim jacket I added ankle boots too, to keep my feet cosy and dry.Tried to dress this up a little more with the fun beaded statement earrings and the mango Balenciaga envelope clutch. We were only heading over to my parents so a clutch really wasn't needed as I didn't need to carry much, but it did fit my wallet, car keys and phone nicely!
It was so good having a big traditional Easter again, especially as we'd spent 3 days that week in lockdown and I was worried about them extending it! Thankfully it ended early instead of being extended.
Last worn: denim jacket, beaded statement earrings, diamond necklace, floral print maxi dress, tan ankle boots, Balenciaga mango envelope clutch.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and jeans, floral print maxi dress worn 30 ways, tan ankle boots and swing dress, Balenciaga mango envelope clutch with pink.
Perfect for pregnancy: Balenciaga mango envelope clutch in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A maxi dress is so easy to dress up or dress down depending on the occasion. A denim jacket, Converse and a big hobo bag can dress it down for the day time, but accessories like an envelope clutch and statement earrings can dress it up for a formal occasion too.

Mica, you did a fabulous job dressing these warm weather maxis up for the cooler weather. I love a maxi dress with a shorter jacket and these both look perfect. These are both very pretty dresses! Hope you are well. - Amy

Both are cute, but I can't get over how great the blue Chucks look in that first outfit! Actually, I love everything about it--I have a soft spot for pink and blue together and the mix of romantic and relaxed is spot on.

I can't believe I haven't tried converse with this dress before! I'll definitely have to again soon!

Yes! I'm glad it's kinda trendy because I don't have a lot of other options with my knee injury, haha! It doesn't seem too out there right now!
DeleteWoah! That first outfit is FIRE. That dress is so gorgeous and looks like it was made just for you! I love how you layered that denim jacket on top as well. Such a great addition. The second outfit is also fabulous! I love that you had fun with accessories. You always inspire me to step up my style game and mix things up!

These are both awesome outfits, Mica! I love the Cons with this pretty ruffled dress. The bag is so perfect with the second outfit - that pop of yellow is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a fun weekend! Here's to another week!
Love both of your printed maxi dress and jacket outfits. Glad you were able to enjoy a nice family gathering for Easter this year! Thanks for the link up and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI hope you were able to as well! It's so nice to have so few restrictions!
DeleteThose are cute. But spaghetti straps? Yeah, I don't own anything with spaghetti straps. Nor will I ever. It's a bra thing. I can't wear my bras with them, and I don't go out without a bra. Ever.
ReplyDeleteSome people like strapless bras, but I can't do those after pregnancy and breastfeeding. I find these ones are perfect with some of my bras with dainty straps as they don't flash anything. Especially not when under jackets too, haha! :)
DeleteBoth of these maxi dresses are just gorgeous, Mica! Wishing you the brightest week ahead, my friend!

Love how you paired the first dress with the sneakers and jean jacket. Have a great week.

I'm loving both of your outfits here, Mica! The mandala print hi-low maxi dress is so pretty, and I love the darker denim jacket worn with it. Loving the colourful second outfit too, with the pop of yellow from the bag! xxx
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits are beautiful. I love maxi dresses and that mandala print dress is a show stopper. Even worn casually, it is gorgeous. I am glad that restrictions are lightening up. It's definitely nice to see family again. I hope your week is going well so far and happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteMaureen | www.littlemisscasual.com
Yes it's always hard when a 3 day lockdown derails our plans and we don't get to see family as we wanted to, but great when it's lifted again, we can always reschedule things we had on during those 3 days :)
DeleteGreat post dear!Photos are amazing !
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits are beautiful! I love your maxi dresses. The first outfit with the converse and maxi dress is so lovely. I also like the second look and how you styled your ankle boots with a maxi dress and a denim jacket.
ReplyDeleteI love how a lot of things we own can be worn "out of season" thanks to layers! Some of my brighter pieces are off limits for Winter but I like that I can wear things that are generally thought of as Summer pieces even when it's cold
ReplyDeletehttps://www.closet-fashionista.com/
Yes, we are lucky even winter isn't too cold (no snow!) so I can wear most summer pieces year-round.
DeleteHi Mica! Thanks for stopping at my blog. Both dresses are so cute and I love you you dressed down the maxi. I would never think to wear converse with it, but it looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove a good maxi dress! Both of these looks are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
You look smashing in both outfits. I like ,however, the first outfit more; it's more close to my style. The second outfit has three major vivid colors in one ensemble, and that's too much.
ReplyDeleteI do love to wear a lot of colour! :)
DeleteYou did a great job dressing down the high low dress and LOVE the kitty denim jacket from Jeans West, this is so my style and it looks great with floral maxi dress!

Love look #2 and the vibrant colors!!!! I am glad you had a 2nd chance to wear this for the Easter celebration. The yellow really makes a pop against the print of the that dress. Also, I really like your converse shoes with the high-low dress. Nailed it again.

I love both outfits, but the first dress is just so cute. I love the cut of it!
ReplyDeleteThe bright prints of both dresses look really smart coordinated with denim jackets. It's great that you and your family were able to enjoy a traditional Easter again especially since there was a lockdown just before.
ReplyDeleteYes we were so lucky lockdown was lifted early and all the cases and possible cases were in quarantine!

Hello Mia,
ReplyDeleteAgain two amazing combinations! I came from the other posts where you were using more solid and block colors and here you surprise me with a lot of interesting prints paired with denim jackets (I loved the twist of the second one by the way, it is like the classic option but with something different).
I'd say I totally love this kind of combos: using a print and then adding neutrals on top to make contrasts ;)
