What I wore:
Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl plain crinkle scarf in mustard
Dress: Atmos&Here navy stripe tee dress with leggings
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather
Why I wore it:
Wore this for a fun Monday! After the school run I headed out to the local opshops with my youngest boy. Since I'd noticed the big one near us had reopened (it was one of the last to reopen after the virus restrictions) I was eager to go check it out, and a cold Monday sounded like the perfect opportunity. It is the best opshop locally for books, they have a huge range and we spent a lot of time picking our favourites to take home. Hubby and I had an appointment later that day and I was hoping some new books would keep the little one entertained for a bit during that! Of course I picked a few interesting looking ones up for myself too, since my neighbour started a virtual book club over Iso I've gotten back into the habit of reading and I'm always looking for new books to read!I felt this navy striped tee dress with the black printed leather jacket was a bit dark, the mustard scarf and the aquamarine mini MAC bag were the perfect touches of colour with it to lighten it up! It warmed up much more than I expected and I ended up taking the leather jacket off for most of the day after the school drop off in the morning.
Last worn: printed leather jacket, mustard scarf, navy stripe tee dress, leggings, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: printed leather jacket worn 30 ways, mustard scarf with olive, navy stripe tee dress with pink, Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC with magenta kimono.
Perfect for pregnancy: navy stripe tee dress in second trimester, Converse in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC in third trimester.
5 Ways to Wear Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Strap:
What I wore:
Scarf: Love Quotes knotted tassel linen scarf in sunshine yellow
Dress: Shein navy flower print flowy dress (c/o) with grey leggings underneath
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather
Why I wore it:
Again the same outfit formula with a navy dress, leather jacket, and aqua mini MAC bag and yellow scarf. I loved the colours of this outfit but it felt a little more impractical than the first outfit above. It was a very cold day, so cold that I ended up working from home after the school run with a big fluffy blanket over my legs to keep me warm. I realised when I went to go pick up my son and take him to his appointment in the afternoon that it has just resulted in a very wrinkled dress being covered up all day with a thick blanket! It is a very light dress, just viscose, so it wrinkles a bit more than I'd like sometimes.I think if I'd have worn this on another day I would have liked it more - it was a fun colour combination, and I really liked all of the pieces together, but it was so cold jeans and a big cosy knit might have been better (and less likely to wrinkle!).
Last worn: black leather jacket, yellow tassel scarf, navy and red floral swing dress, leggings, Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC (above).
Other ways to wear: black leather jacket and maxi skirt, yellow tassel scarf with orange dress, floral swing dress and blazer, Converse and skinny jeans, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: yellow tassel scarf in second trimester, Converse in third trimester, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC in second trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
Yellow and navy go so well together! If you're layering up a navy dress for colder weather with a leather jacket and leggings, why not add a bright yellow scarf for a pop of colour? You can try introduce another bright shade with a handbag too.

That's awesome that you're back into reading now! I don't have much time for reading as I'd like, but look forward to hopefully soon now that Ariah is getting bigger and more independent. It sounds like that was a really fun day for you and your son! I love the color combinations you've created with both outfits, very fun!

I love the yellow pops of color! That first one is probably my favorite but I do like the print of the second dress too. I wonder how much I will winterize my skirts and dresses this winter. Will have to remember this for inspiration.

Love the pops of yellow, Mica! I have a mustard scarf very similar to the one you're wearing in the first outfit, and it's one of my favorites. Also, a virtual book club sounds SO fun! Hope you're having a great start to your week.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to pick up books in opshops? I hardly ever buy new books, which I think are super expensive. We have a couple of charity shops with a great choice of books, so that is always my first port of call when I'm in need of reading material. After I've read them, I often pass them on to my girlfriends, too. Love the pop of mustard from the scarf in your first outfit. My favourite, though, is the second outfit, even if I'm hearing you with the issues on the wrinkled dress :-) The dress is delightful, though! Hope your week gets off to a great start, Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteI haven't felt like venturing into the library but at the rate I'm reading preloved books are definitely better - couldn't afford to keep buying new books so often haha! :) I always donate them back when I'm done :)
DeleteI love the yellow scarves with the turquoise bag, Mica! It's a great colour combo on you! Sorry to hear of the wrinkliness of the second dress- viscose is bad for that, which is why I tend to wear my viscose stuff in the summer only, so that I don't have to deal with layers.
ReplyDeleteI still covet that wonderful printed leather jacket! It's gorgeous!
I am reading a lot more than normal - I expect I will blast last year's "books read" number out of the water this year!
I think it's a good year for reading with the extra time we have on our hands not going out as often!
DeleteThis dress does really shines in summer too :)
Yes I have clothes like this that wrinkle more then I would like. And love how the blue bag went with both looks.

ReplyDeletePS As much as I love summer, seeing you in leather jackets make me miss mine:)
Hope you're having an awesome Monday!
The yellow and turquoise accessories are lovely bright spots in both of these outfits! I hope your week is off to a great start!

I wasn't sure what an opshop was so looked it up. Could kind of figure out from 'context clues' but wanted to be sure. I prefer opshop to thrift shop!! Glad you were able to pick up some great books.
ReplyDeleteLove all the yellow. Have just come to realize how much I like that color. It gives such a pop to all of your looks and you wear yellow so well.
Oh sorry, I forget the Americans call it a thrift shop - I try include Aussie translations in my post but forget sometimes!
DeleteI never thought to pair aqua with navy, but they goes so great together!

I can't actually wait to wear my leather jacket, or any jacket for that matter. It's such a shame here in the UK we either have it stifling hot or freezing cold, there's never an in-between! Jacqui
ReplyDeleteBoth your outfits look super cute Mica. And the mint color bag balances with the yellow so well. Love it. Hope things are fine at your place.:-)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfits. You have styled them so well.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow scarf adds a great pop of colour and so good with the leather jacket. Not sure how cold freezing is in Brisbane though. Many thanks for hosting Mica.

DeleteDefinitely not as cold as it gets for you down south, haha!
You can't go wrong with a dress, jacket, and scarf! These are both such great winter outfits, Mica, and you look fabulous as always!

I think both dresses are very cute and look great on you. Especially the great scarf goes great with the outfit. The Rebecca Minkoff is the icing on the cake ;-) You look very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI would love to wear these outfits as well :-)
Have a wonderful week!

I have never bought books from an opshop, but we do have free shelves around the city where you can drop books off and get new ones to read from.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I've seen one around here although it's not local so I have only seen it in passing when driving.
DeleteI really like the yellow scarf, it adds such a fun pop of color to any outfit! Bummer that I find scarves uncomfortable. :/ I'll have to give them another shot, but I run hot!
ReplyDeleteScarves are a winter staple for me!
DeleteYellow and navy are an unbeatable combination and therefore I love both of your looks! And I see it was really cold when you wore the 2nd look - and I can imagine when you have worn this look on a warmer day you would have been more happy with it as the combination is so cool and I understand that you were sad about the wrinkles in the dress through the blanket.

The scarf adds the perfect pop of color.
ReplyDeleteLove both yellow and aqua - love both of your outfits. I hate to be cold, hopefully your blanket helped. I'm wrapped in a blanket now sometimes (summer here). The thermostat says the same, but my body feels colder.
ReplyDeleteWhat is opshop? Sounds like a place I'd like to visit.
