What I wore:
Dress: All About Eve striped black tee dress
Shoes: Novo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bag: Chloe Paddington in 2007 Brun
Why I wore it:
This dress is one that I got from my sister (video explanation here) and I'm surprised she wanted to give it away as I associate it with her so much! One of my favourite photos of her and my eldest son together she was wearing this dress. Of course I am extremely grateful to get it!A striped tee dress has been on my want list for a while, but I figured I'd start shopping when the boys are bigger and there's less bending over and picking the kids up! I found the length on this really nice though. Hubby and I had a rare few hours to ourselves to do some boring bank stuff while the inlaws watched the kids, so it was the perfect opportunity to break out this tee dress. I actually really liked the length and could see myself wearing this around the boys. The slightly dipped hem in the back helps with that!
The style challenge for the day was 'pure gold' so I layered up the gold pendant necklace, rose gold sandals and gold padlock Chloe Paddington bag together. I really liked all of the gold with the black and white stripes.
Last worn: gold pendant necklace, rose gold sandals, Chloe Paddington bag. First time I've worn the striped tee dress as it's a recent addition to my wardrobe.
Other ways to wear: rose gold sandals and maxi dress, Chloe Paddington bag in the office.
Perfect for pregnancy: Chloe Paddington bag in second trimester.
What's In My Bag: Chloe Paddington
What I wore:
Dress: Zara printed bib front tunic dress
Shoes: Novo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bag: Chloe Paddington in 2007 Brun
Why I wore it:
Again, another printed dress with a green and gold necklace, and the same rose gold sandals and Chloe Paddington bag. Despite being the same outfit formula as I wore above, I love how this looks completely different with the navy dress! This dress isn't much shorter than the one above, but really feels it (especially as the hems are curved and split before they join in the middle. It's strictly a kid free dress, unless I wear it as a top, which I've done a few times in the past.
I wore the dress like this a couple days before Christmas, to get some last minute stocking filler things I hadn't been able to buy before when I had the kids with me, and to make a start on the Christmas food shopping to minimise what I needed to buy the weekend before Christmas. It was a productive few hours, and this dress was a nice light layer for the hot summer day.
Last worn: navy shift dress, green statement necklace, rose gold sandals (above), Chloe Paddington (above).
Other ways to wear: navy shift dress under a pencil skirt, rose gold sandals and maxi dress, Chloe Paddington and burgundy pants.
Perfect for pregnancy: navy shift dress in third trimester, Chloe Paddington in first trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A simple printed dress is a staple for a hot summer day. They are so easy to style too. Add some metallic accessories and a fun bag and you're set for the day. You can even repeat the same or similar accessories the next day with another dress for a completely different outfit despite following the same formula and wearing some of the same pieces.Linking up with Friday Faves, Lizzie In Lace, Sunday Reflections, Shoe & Tell, On Mondays We Link Up, PinkSole and I was featured over at Nancy's linkup!

They have been on heavy repeat recently, they go with everything!
DeleteI actually have more printed dresses than solid ones because to me they are easy. But I know what you mean about the length...not that I have kids, but I've had to think about what I'm doing in them.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I love tights in the winter...ha ha!
Have a great weekend,

Thanks! I love having a place to talk bags, haha!
DeleteOh, for the days I could wear dresses as short as yours! You do have the figure for them, and both look fabulous on you. My favourite is the second one, which indeed does give the impression of being shorter. I love the gold sandals too, and both your necklaces. How sweet of your sister to give you the striped dress! Have a great weekend, Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou could definitely still wear these dresses! :) And yes, it was so nice of my sister :)
DeleteAh yes I could see how having a dress of certain length would be key when having young children. This is a great dress for running around town and looking chic and comfortable.

Yes you have to be 100% positive you can bend over at a moment's notice in it, haha!
DeletePrinted dresses are indeed a great statement piece. I do like these dresses. The necklaces you wore with them are very pretty. That long necklace with tassels is so chic. I also really like the turquoise one you wore with the second dress. You always look pretty and chic.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivana! I've been loving longer necklaces :)
Deletethat bag goes really well with both looks!

I love both dresses, Mica:) Now, I need a striped dress!:) And love that Chloe bag. I can't believe that's from 2007! I like that you don't have to use the padlock and can just secure it with one half of the bag zipped.:)
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome weekend! I heard it's been so hot down there lately...I'm so jealous!
It is such an old bag, but I'll always love it! :)

I love both printed dresses and how even though you styled them similarly, both outfits are still very unique! T-shirt dresses used to be my favorite and I think I might give them a try again once it gets warmer here. I hope you have a great week ahead!

Hi Mica,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the striped dress on you. Sisters can be so sweet sometimes! I really love the Chloe bag. It is perfect with the gold accents.
Enjoy your warm weather as we are freezing in the US!
Love the striped dress and sandals combo dear. Such a chic casual look.
ReplyDeleteJessica | notjessfashion.com
The striped tee dress is really cute and I love the bag. I'm always too shy to wear dresses that show my knees because I think I have the ugliest knees in the world. You create an adorable look!!!!
ReplyDeleteI bet your knees look just as beautiful as the rest of you! :)
DeleteYour Chloe Paddington bag looks really nice! I love the lock feature. I like how the dress looks on you. It looks very comfortable to lounge around and run errands. I don't have tee dresses but you rocked it really well. I like how you styled the bag with a dress for a different occasion as well. The pattern makes the dress look very elegant. Thanks for sharing!

So when do you reckon the boys will be old enough? I have the same issues with my kids and some dresses and sometimes feel like it is going to go on forever!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Linda, Libra, Loca
haha yes it feels like forever sometimes! I'm thinking school age, when they can do all the toilet stuff themselves and tie their own shoes!
DeleteI just love how well your bag and shoes complement each other! They really look great together and make each outfit look so polished! Such a great combo with any outfit and look great with these dresses! ;) XXX
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love both looks Mica, your hair looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe other day I saw a Chloe Paddington bag at the consignment shop and it reminded me of you.
Oh yey! I bet it was so affordable - they are such cheap bags now, compared to what they were in the peak of their popularity when they went for more than retail!
DeleteOoooh the Chloe Paddington! I love it! You styled it nicely with those dresses, Mica!
