What I wore:
Dress: Atmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Chloe small Paddington in 2006 blanc
Why I wore it:
This was such a busy day! As well as the school run and our usual library visit I had an appointment at an office on the north side of Brisbane that I wasn't feeling too confident about driving too. I'd been so preoccupied about the appointment that when my friend texted me in the morning reminding me about drinks that night I realised I'd gone and forgotten all about them! Luckily this outfit I was wearing worked for everything, during the day and at night for drinks. The benefit of having drinks at a friend's house means not needing to get overly dressed up.
With the wild weather and a bit of rain and wind the scarf was the perfect way to add a little extra warmth and some more colour to this navy striped tee dress. I really liked the way the black skull print on the scarf matches the black stripes in the dress as well. And this neutral small cream Chloe Paddington bag goes with everything too. The sneakers were essentials to support my knee with all the driving around.
Luckily the storms that day didn't hang around long - we did get a little wet when we arrived at the library but the sun was shining again by the time we left, and it was dry for the school pickup and drop off.
Last worn: skull scarf, navy stripe tee dress, New Balance sneakers, Chloe mini Paddington bag.
Other ways to wear: skull scarf and printed blouse, navy stripe tee dress and mustard scarf, Chloe mini Paddington bag and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: skull scarf in third trimester, navy stripe tee dress in second trimester.

What I wore:
Dress: Target navy and white striped shift dress with frill sleeves
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Louis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull
Why I wore it:
This was not such a busy day, a much more relaxed day! We went out to a little local carnival. There were a lot of market stalls, some yummy fundraising food, and the highlight for the kids was of course the petting zoo.
I figured I'd wear my new navy striped dress - aren't the ruffles on the sleeves cute? I picked this up at the Glad Rags markets for just $5, a great second hand buy. Added a little extra colour to the navy with this yellow statement necklace, but I'm thinking I'll try a longer necklace next time. I did like the sneakers with this though, very comfortable as the event was a lot busier than I expected it to be and the lines (particularly for the petting zoo) were super long so there was a bit of standing around.
The Louis Vuitton Neverfull was perfect for carrying all our water bottles and of course my camera. I got some really cute photos with the kids and the animals.
Last worn: yellow statement necklace, Adidas Superstar, Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote. First time I've worn the dress as it is a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: Adidas Superstar and midi dress, Louis Vuitton Neverfull tot worn 30 ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote at 38 weeks.
How You Can Wear It
A navy striped dress is a great wardrobe basic. Try adding some extra colour to the neutral stripes with a bright accessory, like a printed scarf or statement necklace.

Both outfits are great, Mica, but that first one really appeals to me. I love the darker colored stripes with your printed scarf. And the lighter bag looks amazing with the darker outfit, too! I hope you have a great week!

Yes it's one of my fave dresses - always looks so good with a scarf!
DeleteStripes are such a good idae! They always look good in my eyes. Casual and yet very stylish! Have a great day Mica!
ReplyDeleteI do love having friends over for drinks or going to their house - so much more relaxed and much more budget friendly too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

It was very budget friendly for me too as I had forgotten about it so just brought popcorn to share as that was all I had in the pantry, ha!
DeleteI don't think I still own a striped dress, but seeing it on you makes me want to get one.
ReplyDeleteNot right now though, we are heading into winter.
They are such staples for me, I have quite a few now, haha!
DeleteI love your outfit and bag!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these stripped dresses look soooo good on you! I really like the cut and style paired with the two different types of sneakers. I think a t-shirt like this is extremely versatile and comfortable. Add a little scarf and you look perfect for an evening out with girlfriends. Hope you had lots of fun and laughs.

They are both pretty but I really love the first one with the scarf.
ReplyDeleteLove that you had a great day to night outfit on for such a busy day! I just love that scarf. The colour is gorgeous on you. And the local carnival sounds like so much fun. What a great experience!

ReplyDeleteLove both of these sporty striped dresses with sneakers! I especially like the color and pattern combination of the first outfit. Great bags too, as always! Hope you enjoy your week and thanks for the link up!

That first striped dress didn't even look like stripes from afar. What a great option if someone isn't sure they like stripes. But I'm with you...bring on the stripes.

I'm thrilled with that find, I've been wearing the bag so much lately! :)
DeleteI love the magenta scarf against the navy blue dress that you're wearing in the first look—that's one of my favorite color combinations! And I heard a rumor that Chloe is bringing the Paddington back... ;)

I'd be so ready for it if they did bring it back like they did the Edith and Silverado, haha! I have a couple in my wardrobe now!
DeleteStriped dresses are fun, I have one that is super similar to the one you are wearing in the top photo. And the second one, I can not believe you got it for $5 wow!! They both look good with the beige bags.

DeleteLove that first outfit, right down to the sneakers, Mica! It's a great dress for a busy day. I like the second outfit too, especially the yellow necklace with it!

I love stripes too, but I don't think I've got any striped dresses in my wardrobe at this very moment, just striped long-sleeved tee!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving both of your outfits, but on a dark day like today, I'm preferring the brighter colours of the second one!
I hope your week is going well Mica! xxx
I have so many striped pieces in my wardrobe, it's a staple print for me! :)
DeleteYou can never go wrong with stripes! Love the pretty yellow necklace you paired with your second outfit!
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy! At least you were dressed comfortably for it all. I like too as you said it's great hanging out at a friends because you get that great company, and don't have to go all out when getting ready, unless you want to. Have a great week!

Your first outfit (navy dress + scarf) is stunning!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'm not for stripes, but they are not that visible on the dark navy color of the dress.
Stripes are a staple in my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteThe dresses look so stylish and comfy, Mica.
They are a staple for me too! :)
DeleteBoth these outfits are cute, but the first look with the striped dress and magenta scarf is love!

Love the navy blue outfit. Matches well with the scarf and bag.
ReplyDeleteFantastic outfits with striped dresses. The dark trainers you wore with the first striped dress are fabulous and that magenta AM scarf is very cute.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow necklace you wore with the second outfit is a great pop of colour as well.
I love accessories as pops of colour!
DeleteNice styles. I love that first dress so much :-D
ReplyDeleteYour white Chloe bag is so lovely on its own, but it especially pops against your dark striped dress! Funnily enough, I actually have a striped dress myself that’s pretty similar to your second one! :)
ReplyDeleteOh yey I love that you have a similar dress to! Dress twins, haha!
DeleteThe navy striped dress with the magenta scarf is totally fabulous!
