What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted Mix Apparel clover designer inspired necklace
Tank: Asos satin singlet in pink
Jeans: Nobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral
Why I wore it:
This had been a much warmer than expected spring day so I didn't want to layer up too much for a BBQ at a friend's place that evening. Definitely needed to change my outfit to this though - after being at a playdate at the park in the morning I had some lovely little strawberry stains all over my tee courtesy of my little one! This long duster kimono with the black Nobody Denim skinny jeans was just the right outfit to keep me cosy in the evening. I'm sure sitting near the pizza oven helped too. It did start getting quite cool after 8pm and I wondered if I should have gone for a cardigan but by then the kids were practically falling asleep, both having been at parties earlier in the day, so it was time to call it an early night at 9pm anyway.
This pink tank hasn't been worn in a while, and so was overdue a wear. I thought it was nice with the different shades of pink in the floral print of the kimono, and a nice backdrop for this clover necklace I thrifted last month.
Because we had our baby bag filled with toys and water bottles for the kids I kept it simple with the little peach Rebecca Minkoff small love bag - perfect for just the essentials like my mask, phone, wallet and keys. I really liked the orange and pink combination too!
Last worn: tropical floral duster, pink satin tank, Nobody Denim skinny jeans, Adidas Superstar, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag. First time I've worn the necklace as it was a recent opshop buy.
Other ways to wear: tropical floral duster and white shorts, pink satin tank and pencil skirt, Nobody Denim skinny jeans and blazer, Adidas Superstar and midi dress, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag and orange tee.
Perfect for pregnancy: pink satin tank and hidden second trimester bump.
Jacket: Cotton On Leah kimono in Juddy floral cerise
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maya gather back tank in mid turquoise
Shorts: Jeanswest Sara distressed hot short
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Shorts: Jeanswest Sara distressed hot short
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt
Why I wore it:
Similar to the outfit above - floral kimono, bright block colour tank, and black denim. But shorts this time as it was a really warm and sunny day. I picked this magenta long sleeve floral kimono to wear to keep my arms covered up from the sun, and because it's quite light and wouldn't overheat me. I appreciated the arm coverage in the cooler aircon too. After a morning enjoying the beach and playground at Southbank we headed to the Lego Brickman exhibition at the museum. We'd been trying to get tickets for a while with a week or two notice but it was always sold out, so we took a chance and booked tickets a month out. So happy we finally got to go and Covid cases stayed at 0 so there were no lockdowns to change our plans! The kids loved it. There were some amazing Lego creations, and plenty of Lego around for the kids to try their own handiwork too.
I needed a bag that would fit my camera and the essentials in it - and this cobalt Love bag pairs so nicely with the blue in the floral print of the kimono. I liked how colourful this outfit was with the magenta, cobalt and turquoise together. Hubby had the backpack filled with everyone's water bottles and some snacks too, so I probably could have gone for a smaller bag for my things, but this just went with my outfit so well!
Last worn: magenta floral kimono, turquoise tank, beaded necklace, distressed denim shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo Love bag.
Other ways to wear: magenta floral kimono and white tee, turquoise tank and maxi skirt, distressed denim shorts and stripes, Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo Love bag and jeans.

ReplyDeleteHave a nice week ☀️
You look lovely in both looks! I really like the first one best but that’s because those are my favorite colors. It’s funny to think of you wearing spring clothes while I’m getting ready for fall (though I’m wearing shorts as I write this).

The floral kimono is very attractive and I think will go well most outfits. Glad that Spring has arrived and you can be in shorts again.
ReplyDeleteLooking good as always. It is not short weather here.
ReplyDeleteIt's never occurred to me to try a kimono instead of a cardigan but it looks fab! Super stylish and very colourful, and not something that a lot of other people will be wearing - great tip, Mica, thank you!
ReplyDeleteGlad I could give you the idea! Kimonos are such a staple for me in the warmer weather :)
DeleteGreat color combinations, and I love fall for layering.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely weekend. I love both your kimonos! Lovely patterns.
ReplyDeleteCorinne x
The flashes of colour from your tees and kimonos combined with the black jeans and shorts are absolutely delightful, making it hard for me to choose a favourite. I'm sure that Lego exhibition must have been amazing, and interesting for both you and the kids. I once went to a Barbie exhibition in toy museum, and it was absolutely fantastic. Not just the vintage Barbies - which I used to collect - but all the other toys as well. I don't think one is ever too old for things like that :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteDefinitely - exhibitions like that are ageless I think, we all really enjoyed it!
DeleteYou look great as always:) Those two colour tanks are such great pieces and really pop out, and love how you paired them with the kimonos. The Lego Brickman exhibit sounds pretty cool as well. So awesome you guys got to go!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having an awesome day so far:)

These are both awesome outfits, Mica! I love how you've mixed colours in both of them - the orange bag in the first outfit is such a nice non-matchy addition, and the turquoise top in the second does the same function.
