Turquoise and Band Tees

Adding some turquoise cover ups over band tees for some bright and colourful casual outfits lately.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Tee: The Getaway Plan yellow paint splatter band tee
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus turquoise and silver bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Just a nice simple jeans and tee outfit for a playdate. I wanted to add a little extra cover with this fun tropical print cover up, and I thought all the colours helped break up the bee-like yellow tee and black jeans nicely, especially when paired with the turquoise and silver bracelet stack.

The Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag of course goes with everything and has been a staple go-to for me!

Last worn: tropical print cover up, yellow band tee, bracelet stackfaded black skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid.

Other ways to weartropical print cover up and denim skirt, yellow band tee with grey, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid and dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Jacket: thrifted pastel Paisley print cape (new purchase)
Tee: Kisschasy The Final Roar band tee
Shorts: thrifted Kmart turquoise linen shorts (new purchase)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

Finally making the most of warmer weather and wearing some of the things I bought at the opshop last month. I will always thrift pieces I like, even if it means I need to wait for the weather to change before I can wear them. I thought this pastel print cover up worked so well with the turquoise linen shorts. The shorts were a hit at school drop off, they are such a nice colour! I have the same pair in fuchsia that I thrifted last year, and really enjoyed wearing them last summer so I'm confident these turquoise ones will get just as much wear.

Wasn't too sure if the black and white print of this band tee would work with the printed cover up, but I'm glad I gave it a go for something different! With the turquoise in the print, the matching turquoise shorts, and the matching pastel bag, that the print clash was the only standout of the outfit. It was nice to try something different too!

Last worn: white band tee, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody. First time I've worn the cover up and the linen shorts as they are recent purchases.

Other ways to wearwhite band tee and maxi skirt, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody and denim skirt.

Perfect for pregnancywhite band tee in second trimesterConverse in second trimester.

Blue Tanks, Floral Toppers And Skinny Jeans

Adding a little more interest to these plain blue tank and black skinny jeans outfits I wore recently, with some floral printed cover ups. Nice easy outfits for the school run and working from home.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue | awayfromblue

JacketCotton On Leah kimono in Juddy floral cerise
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tank: Kmart teal tank
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

With it being a little warmer I didn't want to add a cardigan to this tank and jeans outfit. I wasn't sure about the teal of the tank against the magenta of this floral waterfall jacket but I'm glad I gave the combination a try for something different! This was the perfect light layer I needed.

With the cobalt blue in the floral print I added more blue with the navy bead necklace, and the dark navy Rebecca Minkoff Cupid satchel, black faded skinny jeans and Converse were good neutrals to wear with that different teal and magenta colour combination.

Last worn: magenta floral jacket, navy beaded necklace, teal tank, faded black skinny jeans, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid.

Other ways to wearmagenta floral jacket and shorts, teal tank over a dress, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, black Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid and maxi dress.

What I wore:

JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Another blue and green outfit! I really like wearing this green duster with blue, so I knew I wanted to wear it with this blue tank I recently purchased. I love blue and green together, and I think that the chunky necklace, with the different blue and green beads, tied it together nicely. This has quickly become my go-to necklace when I'm wearing blue and green!

Again I went with classic black skinny jeans. These Nobody Denim Siren pair are so comfortable, perfect for the school run and working from home, especially when paired with this soft cotton tank and my staple Converse.

Last worn: green floral duster, chunky necklace, Nobody Denim skinny jeans, Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag (above). first time I've shared the tank on the blog as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to weargreen floral duster and dress, Nobody Denim skinny jeans and purple cardigan, Converse in black and white outfit, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag  and pastel dress.

Black Jeans and Burgundy Bag With Printed Layers

Two more black denim outfits - I have been loving my jeans with the cooler winter weather! Both of these are accessorised with my burgundy Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag, and some printed layers to add a little extra interest to basic outfit formulas.

What I wore:

black and white stripes with Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy | awayfromblue

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: Lovisa wooden statement bead necklace
TeeAtmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

Why I wore it:

I thought that the burgundy Rebecca Minkoff avery bag would go nicely with this purple tee - it really seemed to bring out the purple in it! As I've mentioned before, it's one I'm trying to hit 30 wears with although the spandex in it that made it so soft and stretchy is starting to show its age. It definitely needs to be worn with a cover up on top, so the black and white striped duster was perfect. I added the wooden necklace too, I really like this statement piece but don't wear it nearly enough!

With the faded black skinny jeans, these Converse All Stars are a staple, perfect for a quiet day with the school run and working from home, before a special dinner with the family in the evening.

Last worn: black and white striped duster, purple tee, wooden statement necklace, faded black skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff burgundy Avery bag.

Other ways to wear: black and white striped duster and dress, purple tee and skirtfaded black skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff burgundy Avery bag and mustard dress.

Rebecca Minkoff Avery Crossbody: What's In My Bag

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

JacketCotton On Leah kimono in Juddy floral cerise
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

Why I wore it:

Another work from home and school run day meant another sneakers and black jeans outfit! With the silver tank and the black skinny jeans, this was a pretty monochromatic outfit. I thought that the floral waterfall cover up was a fun way to add more colour and interest to the outfit, although I do wish the navy necklace had matched the blue in the floral print a little more, the shades were quite different.

I ended up really liking the burgundy bag with this too! I haven't tried burgundy and magenta together before, but gave it a go as it meant I could reuse the bag from the day before and didn't have to swap anything out. Time is of the essence trying to get everyone up and ready for school in the mornings!

Last worn: floral cover up, navy necklace, metallic silver tank, Nobody Denim skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody (above).

Other ways to wearfloral cover up and scarf, metallic silver tank and shorts, Nobody Denim skinny jeans and blazer, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody and little black dress.

Prints, Skinny Jeans and Tees With Louis Vuitton Neverfull

Simple outfits for some warmer days recently. Classic jeans and tee combos with statement flat bead necklaces, printed cover ups, sneakers, and my Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote.

What I wore:

printed cover up navy tee and Louis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull | awayfromtheblue

JacketThe Kindness Kimono 'Dream Catch Me' print
Necklace: adjustable coral flat bead necklace
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

While we had a cold end to autumn in Brisbane, winter actually brought some warmer weather, so it was time to swap my knits and leather jackets back to lighter cover ups, like this fun colourful printed one. The red in the print it doesn't quite match the coral necklace, but they both add a nice bit of colour to this otherwise dark navy tee and faded black jeans combination.

I see the Louis Vuitton damier azur Neverfull as a neutral really, so didn't mind that mixed print against the already mixed prints in my cover up. This was the perfect outfit for a strangely warm winter day with the school run, working from home, and a quick errand after school.

Last worn: printed cover up, navy tee, faded black skinny jeans, Converse, Louis Vuitton MM Neverfull. First time I've shared the necklace as it was a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearprinted cover up and dress, navy tee and maxi skirt, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and shorts, Louis Vuitton MM Neverfull worn 30 ways.

30 Ways to Wear: Louis Vuitton Neverfull

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Necklace:  thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in marigold
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

This was a much more colourful outfit than the one above! While this fun tropical print cover up is bright and bold enough on its own, something about it just makes me so happy pairing it with other bright colours, like the hot pink tank last time I wore it, and this orange tee this time around. The white jeans were a good way to balance out the bright topper and tee, and went nicely with the Louis Vuitton Neverfull.

Picked the comfortable sneakers for a day with a lot of walking, not just because they matched my flat beaded necklace! We took the kids to the museum in the morning, to see the largest dinosaur ever discovered. After a little stroll through Southbank and the city, we went to an Army open day where the kids got to climb on all the vehicles and enjoy some rides. It was such good weather for it too!

Matching Tees To Cover Ups With Dark Jeans | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, I'm sharing some simple jeans and tee outfits with some recently thrifted cover ups and my little turquoise Balenciaga First bag to add a little more colour.

What I wore:

grey jeans, converse, zig zag cover up pink tee turquoise Balenciaga first bag | awayfromblue

Balenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India with pink tee | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On navy zig zag cover up
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
TeeCotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
JeansNobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

Since I thrifted the navy flat necklace and the zig zag print cover up together, I knew I'd end up wearing them together, the navy shades match perfectly! Just like last time I wore this cover up, I tried a little turquoise bag to make the turquoise in the print pop out a bit more. Once again, it didn't really seem to work. I did love how well the pink tee went with the coral in the navy print though, I felt it brought that out well, and I do like all shades of pink and blue together.

Staple jeans and Converse as it was a busy day, with working from home, the school run, and an appointment at the vets for Cooper. Converse were good for all the driving around.

What I wore:

burgundy tee, floral cover up, skinny jeans, converse and Balenciaga first bag | awayfromblue

Balenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India with burgundy and maroon floral print cover up | awayfromblue

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On maroon wanderlust floral border cover up
Necklace: Kmart black and gold double strand beaded necklace
TeeZalora Basics maroon stepped t-shirt
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

I liked wearing this burgundy floral print cover up with my purple tee first time I wore it. So I thought I'd try it again with a dark tee, with this burgundy tunic and the black skinny jeans. It's not a perfect match to the colours in the print of the kimono, but I still really liked this outfit. I think the necklace was a good addition too, it took me a couple of tries that morning to find just the right necklace!

The Balenciaga first bag doesn't match anything in this outfit, unlike the outfit above, but I do love the pop of colour it adds, especially against the faded black skinny jeans.

We took advantage of the public holiday to head down the coast and spend some time with my parents. The rain arrived and slightly derailed our picnic plans, but our picnic in the lounge room was just as fun.

Last worn: burgundy floral print cover up, burgundy tee, beaded necklace, faded black skinny jeans, Converse (above), Balenciaga turquoise First bag (above).

Other ways to wearburgundy floral print cover up, burgundy tee in capsule wardrobe, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and pencil skirt, Balenciaga turquoise First bag and pink dress.

Autumn Florals With Grey Jeans and Converse

Grey skinny jeans and Converse outfits for autumn. Both outfits featuring double floral prints thanks to the cute floral painting on my little Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag and the extra layers I added.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On 'Gemma' cocoon kimono in Laos blossom navy print
Necklace: Colette marble and gold pendant drop long necklace
TeeAtmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila

Why I wore it:

This wasn't a particularly cold autumn day, but I still wanted to get this cosy floral print cocoon cover up to wrap around me for comfort, for a few errands and a trip to the dentist. Surprisingly I haven't worn this purple tee with it before, I really like navy and purple together! With the grey jeans and black Converse it was quite a dark outfit, but I thought that the little personalised Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag was a nice way to lighten it up. And I knew my dentist would admire the bag! She's the sweetest and always has a little chat to get me comfortable before I sit in the chair - she of course loved the florals!

What I wore:

ScarfFashion Scarf Girl pretty pink floral tassel scarf (c/o)
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
JeansNobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila

Why I wore it:

It was a cooler morning so I picked a really thick scarf to add a little warmth to my simple silver tank and grey jeans outfit for a playdate my son had. I liked the extra colour this brought to the outfit, it was a bit monochromatic without the bag and the scarf adding a little floral colour and print. I had to take the scarf off in the afternoon though, it warmed up too much!

My son had a great time at the playdate though and even braved our friend's pool, although I certainly wasn't joining him, even if it was starting to warm up that afternoon.

White Denim and Magenta Rebecca Minkoff Edie Crossbody Bag

Taking the opportunity to make some white denim outfits a little more cosy with some special cover ups for a couple of different days recently. I accessorised both outfits with my little magenta Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody bag.

What I wore:

The Haus of Queenie sequin kimono with white jeans and grey tee | awayfromblue

sequins, white jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta | awayfromblue

Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Jacket: custom The Haus of Queenie sequin kimono
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a very busy day! I'd finally gotten organised enough to sign up for a stall to sell some things from my wardrobe at Glad Rags Markets. I figured the awesome sequins from The Haus of Queenie would be a real conversation starter with everyone, and the outfit had plenty of admirers! I did get so warm setting up the stall I took it off for a little while, and as I was crawling around on the floor chasing a screw for one of my clothes racks I realised white jeans were maybe not the best choice!

I had a lot of tun though, and have booked a stall at a future market again! This little Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag was the perfect size for my essentials and a little bit of cash, although everyone that bought from me paid with card. My friend gave me a little payment reader chip for my phone that worked really well! I was pleased to see some of my accessories go so quickly, and I have a few ideas for changing up my stall next time.

Last worn: sequin kimono, heart studsnavy necklace, grey tunic, white jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody bag.

30 Ways To Wear: Rebecca Minkoff Magenta Edie Bag

What I wore:

black cardigan, Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta | awayfromtheblue

NecklaceRoie Designs coral beaded tassel necklace
Tank: Sass and Bide "For Easy Reference" tank
Skirt: Target classic denim skirt in white
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta

Why I wore it:

Again with the white denim! I have been wearing this skirt so much since I bought it this year, it's the staple I didn't know I needed. With the simple printed tank it was a bit too chilly for school drop off on an autumn morning, so I added this cute cocoon cardigan I picked up from the opshop recently. Never worn, I knew I had to have it, especially as it was just $1. It was nice and warm for the cooler morning, and comfortable for working from home before picking up the kids in the afternoon. I like how the neutral black, brown tank and white denim skirt let the little magenta Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag really pop.

Last worn: brown printed tank, coral tassel necklace, white denim skirt, Adidas Superstar sneakers (above), Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody bag (above). First time I've worn the cardigan as it was a recent opshop find.

Linen Shorts With Embroidered Tanks and White Cover Ups

Loving the Brisbane weather that meant I could still get some wear from these linen shorts I thrifted last year well into autumn! This time around I wore them with embroidered tanks and white cover ups, for a couple of days back in the Easter school holidays.

What I wore:

Jacket:  Shein lace trimmed crochet inset white kimono c/o
Tank: Target embroidered khaki tank
Shorts: thrifted Kmart cumin linen blend pull on shorts
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

Sometimes I like showing off the cuter paper bag waist on these linen shorts, like I did last time I wore them. Other times I like pairing them with voluminous tops and hiding the waistband for a completely different look. I thought I'd be brave and try orange and green together - this olive embroidered tank was perfect with the orange linen shorts, I liked the way it draped. I did have to add a cover up on top as it was a little cold for bare arms and legs, so I went with this neutral white one.

Stuck with a big neutral bag too, this black Rebecca Minkoff tote had snacks and water bottles for a family fun day event with the kids, which we all really enjoyed.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Kmart black and white embellished cover up
NecklaceTiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
TankSass and Bide 'Musical Genius' tank
Shorts: thrifted Kmart fuchsia linen blend shorts
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

This followed the same outfit formula as the one above, with this neon embroidered Sass and Bide tank paired with these fuchsia pink linen shorts. I thought the matching pinks were a fun combination, although when I looked back at the photos I wasn't too sure the embroidery on the white cover yup worked as well as I hoped with the print on the tank.

It was a much needed practical choice though. We had booked the kids in for a messy play morning but just as we were about to leave we got a call that it had been cancelled, and we decided to head out to the park instead, and treat ourselves to some lunch. Not quite the fun day we had planned, but a pretty good alternative. It was a really sunny day so I was very glad for this cover up over my shoulders!

Last worn: embroidered cover up, Tiffany necklace, Sass and Bide tank, fuchsia linen shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote (above).

Other ways to wearembroidered cover up and denim shorts, Sass and Bide tank and maxi skirt, fuchsia linen shorts and stripes, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote and denim.
