What I wore:
Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Cami: H&M blue floral crinkle knot front button down cami
Shorts: Jeanswest Heather Bermuda short in black
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta
Why I wore it:
I loved this outfit! It was quite a hot day for spring (36 Celsius) so I was pleased I'd taken the opportunity to book the kids in for a play at an airconditioned indoor play place after my little one's sports in the morning. Despite it being a public holiday and the last day of the school holidays it wasn't too crowded either. Thankfully when we had more sports for the boys in the evening, without the AC, it had cooled off a lot!The white crochet trim kimono was a nice light layer when we were outdoors and kept the chill off my shoulders from the aircon indoors too. I wore this kimono with this cami previously as well, it's a great combination. Managed with some help from my sister to figure out how to knot the front of the cami too, much prefer this over the poor attempt I made last time I wore this top, ha!
With the pretty blue floral print on the cami the blue Converse were a nice matchy-matchy option, and of course black denim shorts go with everything. The Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody bag in magenta was a fun pop of colour too.
Last worn: crochet trim kimono, silver necklace, floral knot front tank, black Bermuda denim shorts, blue Converse, magenta Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag.
Other ways to wear: crochet trim kimono and maxi dress, floral knot front tank and jeans, black Bermuda denim shorts with olive, blue converse and striped dress, magenta Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag worn 30 ways.
Jacket: Target Karolina summer kimono in purple black floral
Necklace: thrifted Mix Apparel clover designer inspired necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Jeans: Nobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta

Why I wore it:
This was not such a fun day. With the rain that morning jeans were called for, and these black Nobody Denim skinny jeans worked well with the darker floral print on the kimono. The Converse were good for all the running around that morning too, and I think the magenta Edie bag was nice with the print. Even though it doesn't match the colours exactly, it goes well.I'd booked the kids in for a school holiday event and we had some errands to run in the morning as well as books for us to take back to the library. It ended up being a little stressful trying to complete everything in time though and trying to make it a good day for the kids while my mind was on other things. I do try keep this blog fashion focused and frivolous (and so few people read what I write anyway) but while I tried to make it as normal a day as possible for the kids I was always conscious of getting home in time for lunch and giving myself enough time to change for a funeral that afternoon.
Thankfully I got home in time to eat and get changed before the funeral. By then the sun had came out and I had changed from this outfit and was just in a simple little black dress and a grey blazer, with a more subdued grey bag. I decided not to take any photos of that outfit.
Last worn: black floral kimono, clover necklace, metallic silver tank, black Nobody denim jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie crossbody bag (above).
Other ways to wear: black floral kimono and shorts, metallic silver tank and pencil skirt, black Nobody denim jeans and blazer, Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie crossbody bag and striped dress.
Other ways to wear: black floral kimono and shorts, metallic silver tank and pencil skirt, black Nobody denim jeans and blazer, Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie crossbody bag and striped dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
Black denim goes with everything - you can pair it with lighter florals like the first outfit, or darker florals like I have in the second outfit. It's the perfect neutral for any print.

I really like both of these kimono outfits, Mica! The white one is so cute with the little trim detail. And I always love a dark floral like the second one. I am sorry that your day was rushed and hectic especially leading up to a funeral. I hope things have calmed down some and you have an easy week ahead.
ReplyDeleteShelbee
Thanks Shelbee, it's been a rough few weeks.

DeleteI love the outfits you showcased this week, lovely and so versatile!
ReplyDeleteI am so envious you are heading into warmer weather - it's cold and wet here and we haven't even had a frost yet :( Loving that magenta bag, it's a colour that goes with everything, doesn't it? I'm sorry you had to go to a funeral though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa.
DeleteThat is a hot day for spring! But you picked a perfect outfit and thank goodness for air conditioning! My favorite of these two looks is the second one, The floral kimono looks so pretty with the black jeans!
ReplyDeleteTotally understand that you didn't want to post the funeral outfit, I'm the same way with my handmade sympathy cards. I just feel like the occasions are too sad and those cards are always so personal.

The first outfit is my favourite, and I'm absolutely loving that crochet trim kimono worn over your knotted cami! 36°C would be heatwave category here in Belgium :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the kimono in the second outfit too. The print works brilliantly with your magenta bag. I can understand you being preoccupied and also not taking photographs of the outfit you wore for the funeral.
Have a great week Mica! xxx
Thank you Ann.

Loving both of these florals! Especially the dark kimono, definitely my preferred way of doing florals as I'm not huge on pinks and stuff for myself no matter how much I like them on others, haha.

I would like to send my condolences again and say I'm so sorry for your loss:( The surreal thing about going through all this is that life has to go on. You still had to do stuff for the family, before attending the funeral. Sometimes, I wish life would actually stop and let us all grieve together when things like this happen:(
ReplyDeleteOn a lighter note, I do love your outfits, and florals are always a win:)
Thanks Emmy. I really appreciated your kind words at such a tough time.
DeleteBeautiful outfits.
ReplyDeleteI really like your Kimonos.

ReplyDeleteGreat outfits, love the floral vibe!
ReplyDeleteHello Mica, I hope you're doing good.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I am sorry to read that you had to attend a funeral, my deepest condolences.
Talking about the outfits I really like that you're keeping your kimonos for the hot days (can't believe you're already facing 36.C!). Despite the hot weather you managed to achieve some nice outfits using layers, which is very interesting, those kimonos look really comfortable and I'm sure you'll be able to use them in many other weather conditions :)
PS: The bag and its color are just amazing, probably one of my favs from your collection!
All the best!
