Back to sharing my corporate style for this week's Weekday Wear Link Up! The return to work was a big shift, after 6 weeks of long service leave. I picked some simple fit and flare dresses to wear, layering underneath them with black long sleeve tees to make them work in the colder winter mornings.
What I wore:
Dress: Jeanswest 'Rita' stripe jersey dress (with Jeanswest black long sleeve henley tee underneath)
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey
Why I wore it:
It was a big adjustment returning to work after 6 weeks off! I added the scarf not just for warmth in the morning but also because I thought it would be fun to wear a little piece from my trip, and I picked this scarf up in Disneyland Paris. As well as the scarf, I had my fleece-lined tights and long sleeve tee to layer up and keep me cosy on the colder winter commute. It was a busy day and a lot to get used to again in the office - while I've been away for 18 months before on maternity leave, I found this 6 week gap harder to get used to - I think because of the work my team was on being so different from what it was before I went on leave.
Last worn: Mickey Mouse scarf, plain black tee, striped dress, Walnut Melbourne ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag.
Other ways to wear: Mickey Mouse scarf and jeans, striped dress and blazer, Walnut Melbourne ballet flats and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag worn 30 ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: striped dress in second trimester, Walnut Melbourne ballet flats in third trimester, Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag in third trimester.
What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB Mini
What I wore:
Dress: Jeanswest tucked ponte black dress with thrifted Maison Scotch black paint splatter print long sleeved tee underneath
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs suede flats in red
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey
Why I wore it:
I followed the same outfit formula for my next day back in the office - this time layering a printed long sleeve tee under my black sleeveless fit and flare dress. I felt the print was a bit too subtle with the dress though, so decided to add some colour with accessories. These red suede ballet flats always make me smile when I wear them, but they are worn so rarely as I usually prefer neutral shoes. I really need to make more of an effort to wear them! With the flat red beaded necklace adding a little pop of colour, this was such an easy way to accessorise.Last worn: printed long sleeve tee, red beaded necklace, black fit and flare dress, red ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff MAM (above).
Other ways to wear: printed long sleeve tee and green pants, black fit and flare dress in summer, red ballet flats and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff MAM and printed jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: black fit and flare dress in second trimester, red ballet flats in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff MAM and jeans.

How You Can Wear It:
You can still wear your sleeveless dresses in cooler weather! It's so easy to layer a long sleeved tee underneath, and a winter coat on top if it's really cold. It's a nice way to make your summer wardrobe work in winter.Weekday Wear Linkup #24
