What I wore:
Cardigan: Jeanswest black cardi
Necklace: Dogeared silver wishbone necklace (on sale!) layered with Dogeared 3 Wishes stardust bead necklaceCami: Atmos&Here 'Isla' ruffle cami in floral print
Skirt: Asos tailored tab front pencil skirt in grey
Shoes: Wittner 'Bloomy' black heels
Bracelets: the usual plus JORD black Fieldcrest wood watch (C/O)
Bag: Balenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH
Why I wore it:
This is what I wore on Saint Patrick's day. (Yep, I'm 2 weeks behind with posting what I wore!) I wanted to wear something with a little bit of green in it, as sometimes the office can get really into holidays. I didn't want to go overboard though, so I thought this printed top with the little bits of green worked nicely. I saw lots of people dressed up in very green outfits when I was walking through the city during the day, but sadly there wasn't a lot of green in the office. I was pleased I hadn't pulled together an overly green outfit! Went with all black accessories as that was easiest, and because I needed a cardi to cover the spaghetti straps of the cami for the office.I've been participating now and then in the #RediscoverYourWardrobe instagram tag. This outfit was another one that met the challenge as last time I wore this cardigan was over two years ago! I wore it with black and white and some red accessories last time, it was a little more colourful this time around with the printed top. This skirt is another wardrobe oldie, last worn when I was 21 weeks pregnant and still hiding the baby bump in the office.
I was debating if I should keep these heels or not. They are very tall, but actually very comfortable despite the height. I wondered if the style was a bit dated though. I got these shoes in 2013 and while they are black, they aren't exactly a classic timeless style. I was scrolling through my instagram feed that day and saw an extremely similar pair being featured as a new style arriving at a store I follow, so I'm not worried any more. They will stay in my wardrobe!
Last worn: black cardigan, Atmos&Here cami, grey pencil skirt, black heels, Balenciaga Part Time.
Other ways to wear: black cardi with a neutral outfit, printed cami and colour blocked maxi skirt, grey pencil skirt worn with blue, Balenciaga black part time with monochrome outfits (and a baby belly!).
What I wore:
Dress: French Connection spotty cotton dress
Shoes: Wittner 'Bolla' black bow detail flats
Bag: Balenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH
Why I wore it:
This dress is another oldie! I last wore it in 2013, back when I was exhausted as I was suffering from really bad morning sickness. I wore it then as I was tired and wanted something to nice and easy to wear to the office. Tiredness is the reason I picked it again this time, although I was tired because I was sleep deprived with baby T and hadn't had time to pick out an outfit the evening before like I usually do. LBD, black accessories and I was done, off to work. Easy :) Although running late meant I didn't notice the messy hair, or have time to fix it before photos, ha!Last worn: French Connection LBD, black ballet flats, Balenciaga part time (above).
Other ways to wear: polka dot dress with pink accessories, black Balenciaga with a pink outfit.

Doused In Pink
It's good to take advantage of a day of meetings and dress up a bit! Very different from my usual mum style :)
DeleteYour floral top is adorable and that sheath dress is so chic and great for the work-place.
ReplyDeleteLove your second look, Mica! This dress could be one of Victoria Beckham's designs! Your business looks are stunning, dear!!! You should definitely keep the shoes! ;-) Simply gorgeous!!!

Nice round-up dear! I'm a fan of floral prints & the blouse looks so sweet! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBoth are gorgeous looks! & if that first outfit is simple then mine must be basic all the time because I think you look so fab in that first look, I mean look at those heels ;) haha.

LOVE the cami from the first outfit Mica!! That print is so after my own heart!! I am going to bookmark these outfits of yours when I am in your situation of going back to work after Maternity leave :)

It is quite an adjustment returning to work after baby! A little while off for you yet though :)
DeleteLove that ruffle tank! And your French Connection dress has such a unique polka dot, so pretty!

I love those heels! I think the Mary Jane strap is truly timeless. Adding some height makes them modern. So a keeper for sure! I wore a more subtle St. Patrick's Day look as well. I'm not into being super flashy when it comes to holiday attire.
ReplyDeleteI think that sheath dress is adorable and should so be worn more often! I totally feel you on dresses when you are tired. With minimal accessories it looks like you tried more than you actually did. Hope all is well with you and Baby T.
Thanks Kiki! I think I'll always love printed dresses for the 'grab and go' simplicity :) I definitely should wear this dress more often! It's not exactly roomy though so it's been a while until I could wear it after pregnancy haha!
DeleteGreat looks, Mica! I love the ankle strap shoes - still very much on-trend, but who cares anyway? If you like 'em, wear 'em! That dress is so pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteThat is very good advice Sheila! :)
DeleteI always love a classic black outfit! You would never know you've been having a rough week, mom life can be hard sometimes :) really love the print of your top in the first outfit.

I love both looks and the top is my favourite, such a colourful and gorgeous piece. You should definitely keep the heels. I like them and would wear them myself. I am having a wardrobe sort out soon, hopefully on this long weekend I will finally have the time to list a few things on ebay.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with sorting out your wardrobe! :) I feel much better after doing mine! :)
DeleteOh that second outfit is a real stunner! I know you wore it because you were tired but it really makes you look awake and vibrant!

Thanks Deborah! :) I think printed dresses are so easy for those kinda days.
DeleteThat floral looks great with dark! You always make me think differently when it comes to fashion Mica. I love that dotted dress. The style looks really pretty on you.

Oh! Those are SPA Gloves! I purchased mine from Bath and Body Works a couple of years ago, but I'm not certain they have them. Just do a search for spa gloves and something should come up. They hold the moisture in at night, so you won't get them on your sheets and such.

Thank you Kim! I'm going to look for them next time I'm at the stores!
Deletelove the floral top on the first and the dress on the second outfit!
ReplyDeleteperfect spring style!

Don't think of it as two weeks behind, but two weeks prepared in advance! (I'm a glass half full kind of girl, haha) Love the office appropriate looks. I might be moving into a more formal office job soon so these posts are appreciated!
ReplyDeleteElleosophy
haha I like the way you think! :) Glad you find the posts helpful :)
DeleteWow, Mica.. you look hot in those outfits. I like the one with the floral cami as it looks sexy without trying hard (the hair is also a plus!) and the dress is just down right elegant! Loving this 2 looks!
ReplyDeletehaha thank you! hopefully not too sexy for the office ;)
Deletethis is such a gorgeous dress and I love the floral print top!
ReplyDeletecute & little
Glad you chose to keep the shoes !
ReplyDeleteI too sometimes have doubts on if I should keep something or not because its a style I no longer see to be in "style". But these should be around a for a while.
PLUS are you kidding comfortable heels !?!?
I know! they are the highest heels I own but also crazy comfortable - they are a wonderful exception to the usual rule haha. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone with those doubts sometimes :)
DeleteI always love seeing what other people wear to the office! Such gorgeous outfits :)
ReplyDeleteMy co-workers are super festive, so I wore a green maxi dress this year... I could not risk getting pinched!
