It seems a little strange for me to be posting these layered up outfits in October and the middle of spring, but on the early spring days I shared these the mornings were chilly enough for me to want layers. Even if the layers didn't stay on long!
What I wore:
Necklace: silk beaded baby-friendly necklace
Tank: Atmos & Here Oregon stripe tank
Jeans: Jeanswest blackberry super skinny jeans
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum
Why I wore it:
Wore this to head to our ABA mothers group catch up. Usually I just delete pics like this, but I thought it was a perfect representation of the day (and also because I spent much longer than usual battling the wind to try get an okay photo that morning before I gave up!). Coopers windblown face is just too funny not to share too 😂While it was forecast to be a warm day, it was a cold morning, especially with the wind, and our catch up is in a church hall. Big and spacious, but also a little chilly! This light cardigan was the perfect layer over the striped tank and easy to take off when we ventured back outside in the afternoon. Now that scarves are not needed for warmth and are more of an optional accessory, it's good to wear my necklace collection again! This is a baby friendly one, perfect for sitting around chatting with mums and babies as I don't have to worry if a curious baby grabs it!
Last worn: grey cardigan, black striped tank, purple skinny jeans, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote.
Other ways to wear: grey cardigan and skinny jeans, black striped tank and maxi skirt postpartum, purple skinny jeans and printed shirt, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote and maxi skirt.
Perfect for pregnancy: purple skinny jeans in first trimester, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in third trimester.
What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Tote
What I wore:
Scarf: Louis Vuitton monogram shawl in bleu
Tank: Jeanswest 'Josie' striped back strap tank
Jeans: Jeanswest blackberry super skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum
Why I wore it:
Almost the exact same outfit as the first one, just slightly warmer layers. With it being windy and a little chilly in the morning, I thought the cosy cardigan and big blanket scarf would be helpful when sitting outside with the boys at playgroup. I ended up taking the scarf off quite early in the day though. A wool scarf and a wool cardigan are just too much for a Brisbane spring! It was actually our last session of playgroup. I was a little sad as we have been going there for over 3 and a half years. (First time we went here!) It's been shut down as the organisation that own the building feel it and the other services are no longer needed. They have found another space and organisation to run it which some of the mums will try going to, but for various reasons we can't attend in the new location.
It was sweet of the boys to give me lots of cuddles through the morning, and so sad saying goodbye. More for me than them, it's been such a constant, welcoming space for years for us, from one baby to 2 and I have so many happy memories. The big party we had was a nice way to say goodbye.
Last worn: wool cardigan, Louis Vuitton shawl, striped tank, purple skinny jeans (above), Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote (above).
Other ways to wear: wool cardigan and maxi dress, Louis Vuitton shawl with black and white, striped tank and pencil skirt, purple skinny jeans and ombre knit, Converse and denim shorts, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote and maxi dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: striped tank in second trimester, purple skinny jeans in first trimester, Converse in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in second trimester.
Purple Jeans Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
Colourful jeans are simple to wear when you pair them with neutral cardigans, and a striped tank is a great basic to add to any outfit! Light layers like scarves and cardigans are perfect for spring as you can wear them as needed. If you do want to add another colour into your outfit, I love blue and purple together.Linking up with Style On The Daily, Oh Hey Girl, Fashion Files, Fun Fashion, Weekend Wear, Fabulous Friday, Flashback Fashion, Lizzie In Lace, Friday Faves.

I love this looks with the cardi:) They're such a great go-to outfit IMO. I tend to wear something like in fall. That Jeanswest....I want!:D
ReplyDeleteAnd so sad to hear about the playgroup shutting down. That's so sweet of your boys trying to make mummy feel better though.
Jeanswest does ship to some overseas countries! Not sure the cardis would be warm enough for your winter though, haha! They are such sweet boys.
DeleteThat stink you won't be able to go to play groups anymore. It so hard to find a good one. Love the touches of blue in your outfit. Hope you are having a great week. We are trying to get back to are everyday schedule after being gone for a week.

Yeah we still haven't found another playgroup to replace it!
DeleteI do this kind of thing all the time, Mica. In fact, I had just posted yesterday on Instagram about 3 same outfits with only changing the topper and shoes!! It's so smart to do this!!

Loving this longline grey cardigan! What a great wardrobe staple. And I have the same issue with weather vs. outfit sharing. Sometimes a few days/ weeks in between wearing and sharing makes the outfit seem inappropriate for the weather even if it wasn't at the time!
ReplyDeleteGina || On the Daily Express
Yes it's always funny shared layered outfits when I'm sweltering in the heat! :)
DeleteI like your bag! What a pretty colour!
ReplyDeleteMira Audrey’s
I am always repeating outfits! It's hard not to when something works so well! Love the color of those jeans!
ReplyDeletehttps://www.closet-fashionista.com/
Exactly! Good to rewear something you liked! I love your series about it too! :)
DeleteYou just reminded me that I have some coloured denims collecting dust in my closet. You look good Mica. I would totally wear both look. Not forgetting that chic bag. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope your week is going well.

Hope I inspired you to get yours out again! :)
DeleteThat's the best though when you can wear an item multiple times. It pieces like these that are worth the investment. It's Fall somewhere around here and your layers actually work well with our weather. Its cool enough in the mornings for the cardigans but can do without the scarf. I am sorry to hear about your play group shutting down. It is sad to go on separate ways but it's the memories that count.
ReplyDeleteMaureen | www.littlemisscasual.com
Yes, there were many happy memories there! And it is great to have pieces you can wear multiple times :)
DeleteYou are rocking the colour purple like paradise sweet babe! Purple looks stunning on you, I adore both these outfits and how you're rocking the blue hues too. The beads are super cute in the first outfit and the scarf is such a jewel of a piece in the second outfit. Crushing so hard on that divine tote too! It goes gorgeously with both outfits and looks. I'm so sorry to hear about the playgroup, that's a real shame. I hope you have some lovely memories to treasure of your special times there ♥︎

Thanks Sophie :) I do love purple and blue together! We had lots of fun times there!
DeleteUgh the wind don't remind me, it makes me remember the awful photoshoot I had in Paris. That bag is such a great color. And I am amazed you found jeans in so similar a shade.

It was awesome when I realised the bag was so similar to my jeans! Such a shame about your Paris photoshoot though :(
DeleteI love the purple jeans and purple bag together as a base, Mica! With this base I think any top would look great: including the striped ones you've worn! Hope you're keeping dry in the wet! ;) XXX
ReplyDeleteHi! Stripes are so classic and classy! I adore your light layers and the bag compliments perfectly. I pray you find another group to attend. Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Saying goodbye to things like the playgroup always is sad, it marks the times passing and makes you realize your bus aren't that small anymore and grow up so quickly!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Linda, Libra, Loca
Yes I was not emotionally ready for it to close - I thought I had a couple more years of playgroup left! They grow so fast though!
DeleteYour purple jeans are so good! And the purple bag is so perfect with it, but I also love the purple with the turquoise scarf!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple jeans! I love outfit repeating and I'm hoping to massively cut down on buying new clothes and become more sustainable so it's something I'll be doing a lot more! Hope you're having a great week,

I'm sorry to hear about the play group! It sounds like it has been a wonderful activity for all of you for quite a while. It's hard when things like that change. I love the shade of those jeans! I used to have a lighter color of purple denim, but I like the darker shade of yours much more!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura. It really was such a fun way to spend a morning!
DeleteI just got a grey cardi similar to yours, I'll have to try it with some colored denim! Love that color of purple and the bag is a perfect match!

I like how similar the bag and jeans are! :) Glad I could give you an outfit idea :)
DeleteI love those spring and fall days that you can layer at the start and ends of the days - it's like wearing two outfits in the same day! Those purple jeans are SO cute! Makes me want a bright pair ASAP!!!

Oh I bet it was sad to say goodbye! I loved looking at your posts from when your oldest boy was a baby--I think that was before we were blog friends! :) You look just as stylish then as you are now!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shea! I can't believe we had been going so long!
DeleteBoth outfits are great and I really love that mini tote bag! That shade of purple is so nice :) I hope you are having a lovely week!

If an outfit works, a good bet is to repeat it. I do that as well. And changing up your accessories is a fantastic way to keep it fresh. Bummer about the playgroup. It's too bad you won't be able to attend the new location :(
ReplyDeleteYes, I love repeating outfits I enjoyed previously! :) I'm sad about the playgroup, but we had lots of happy memories there!
DeleteLoving the purple jeans! So cute and such a great color on you!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, love!

You look divine in purple. Both outfits are fabulous. That purple bag is so cute. Sorry to hear you had to say goodbye to your playgroup, I hope you and other moms will find a way to stay in touch even if you can't attend the same organization. It's always good to stay in touch if we can.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!

Yes, my favorite place to go for outfit inspiration is my own archives! I really love your purple bag, it's such a great color and I think it's dark enough that it will go with quite a lot!

I love your purple pants and sparkly sneakers! I'm sorry the playgroup is ending though, that's a bummer. :(
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things about your blog is that you repeat outfits and show new ways of styling items! It gives me lots of inspiration on how I can rewear items in my own wardrobe. The purple jeans are a lovely change to blue denim, and I really like the pop of color the scarf gives. I hope you had a great weekend, and have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeletex Kara | http://karascloset.net/
Thanks Kara! I'm glad it gives you some inspiration!
DeleteI really like the color of your jeans! It makes me think I need a similar pair!
ReplyDeleteIh I am all about an outfit formula and tweaking it slightly. Lately it's been trackpants and a tee, just varying the undies :D Joking of course... I do change the tee too, haha! What a shame about the playgroup - I used to attend one with Mr 3 before he started preschool and it was such a nice way for him to make friends and burn off some energy. I hope you get to find another one that's a bit more convenient for you and the kids!
ReplyDeleteEileen | 5feetofstyle.com
haha a staple mum outfit! I'd love to find another one but no luck yet!
DeleteThanks all for your lovely comments - and kind words about the playgroup ending!
