What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers
Cardigan: Jeanswest long red drape cardiganTank: River Island floral print sleeveless shirt
Jeans: Jeanswest Bindi skinny 7/8 jeans in indigo luxe
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey (20% off with code FALLFAVES)
Why I wore it:
This was what I wore at the end of September for the last monthly style challenge of 'finish with a bang'. I wasn't sure what I could wear that would meet that prompt, I figured red was a statement colour and my tank has sequins sewn into the florals so it seems sparkly enough! Although the red cardigan and the burgundy florals don't match I thought they looked nice together. The grey mini MAB was perfect against the colourful top and cardi. This was a nice easy outfit to spend the day down the coast with my mum and the boys. We had a really good, relaxing day. It was a horrible evening though! To avoid traffic the GPS took me the longest possible route and I was briefly lost in the middle of nowhere with a very cranky baby and a toddler who was unimpressed dinner was late by the time we eventually got home, ha! At least it was only a couple more hours of craziness before everyone was fed, bathed, and tucked up in bed.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, red cardigan, floral button down tank, skinny jeans, metallic flats, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB.
Other ways to wear: red cardigan and a little black dress, floral button up tank and shorts, skinny jeans and boots, metallic flats and a wrap dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB and leopard print.

Jacket: Jeanswest Dana drape knit cardi in boysenberryShirt: Jeanswest Louisa stripe sleeveless shirt (C/O)
Jeans: Jeanswest prima denim super skinny jeans in absolute black
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey (20% off with code FALLFAVES)
Why I wore it:
This was a style-challenge free day so it gave me the opportunity to wear this striped shirt I've been looking at in my wardrobe for far too long. I've mentioned before that it's taken me a little longer to get back into all my pre-baby tops after this pregnancy than it did with my last. Tops that are fitted around the chest are a little tricky, but I'm glad I was able to wear (and button up!) this shirt finally.Purple and blue are a lovely colour combination so this purple cardi was the perfect topper. Ran a few errands in the morning and spent some time with my mum in the afternoon.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer (above), purple cardigan, navy stripe sleeveless shirt, black skinny jeans, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff MAM (above).
Other ways to wear: purple cardigan and chambray dress, navy stripe sleeveless shirt and pink blazer, black skinny jeans and denim jacket, Rebecca Minkoff MAM in the office.

Funny, I just realised we usually say "button up" and Americans say "button down". I love the striped shirt and purple cardi combo!
ReplyDeleteYes I wonder why it's so different? Either way it's a lvoely style of top haha!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous coral colour! Love your cardigan, it's beautiful. Perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteI really like your long cardigans and printed blouses combinations here. The top blouse is so pretty! And I am glad you are able to wear the striped one again. It looks like a very versatile blouse!
ReplyDeleteIt is! It goes with so much :)
DeleteYou look lovely, I love the bag, cardigan and your cute little fur baby! :-) Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely day!

Oooh I love both of those shirts. I have two sleeveless work shirts and I wear them to death, such a good style. I think I need more though because they're beginning to get a little ratty! I particularly like the stripy one, but I'm drawn to anything stripy at the moment. I also really like that bag...
ReplyDeleteIt is a great bag! :)
DeleteAnd striped anything is always a good idea, hehe! Hope you can pick up more shirts like this for work soon, you're right it's perfect for the office.
Mica, you wear long cardigans so well! They look really good on you! Don't you hate that about GPS systems! LOL They've done it to me! At the end, I'm like I could've gone this way and it would've been much faster. HaHaHa
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
haha yes! WHen they work they are wonderful, but when they don't it's so frustrating!
DeleteUgg. There is nothing worse than being lost, a crummy GPS, and a crying baby in the backseat. I have been there. lol It wont be the last time for you. I bet when you got home it was like a weight was lifted off your shoulders. lol
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these kinds of tops as I find they are insanely versatile and practical for so many occasions!
I finally relaxed after getting into bed - it was a long evening, ha! I'd had nothing sorted for dinner and had a cranky hungry toddler and baby...not a good combination! I really hope the GPS doesn't do the same thing again but I think you're right it won't be the last time!
DeleteI love cardigans, these outfits look really lovely. Gemma x

What pretty spring looks! Spring is my favorite season and the colors you have in both of these looks are exactly what I love to wear that time of year too. I hope you had a nice time with your mom, although I'm sorry to hear that the night was frustrating!
ReplyDeleteYes spring is such a nice season - you can layer a little but not too much thought is needed as it's usually just one layer!
DeleteWe did have a great time at my mum's, just wish the trip home had been nicer haha!
Love both of these! The color of that first cardigan is so pretty!

I'm loving all these pretty cardigan colours! Such a cute bag too!

I love the print of the first blouse, so pretty! Very cute casual looks for a day with the kids :)
ReplyDeleteBella Pummarola
Both the tops are so cute but also functional! Oh boy, sometimes gpses seem to take the loooongest possible route. Then I realize I should have stuck to the known way, even with the traffic.
ReplyDeleteMili | Sharmtoaster
Yep although it wouldn't have helped the screaming baby, I think sitting in traffic might have been quicker, haha!
DeleteThese cardigand are super cute, especially the red one.

I like the first outfit in blue-red-white color combo. The floral print on the shirt is very nice. It works together perfectly. Thank you for linking up with My Red Carpet.

I love both outfits but the first one a touch more than the second because of the red long cardigan. It really makes the whole outfit pops! And I can't imagine the stress being lost in traffic with a grumpy toddler and a baby, that's nightmare!

It was frustrating but we got home in the end! :)
DeleteLove the colors on those cardigans! You look amazing! =)

You look beautiful in both outfits! Love the cardies!

You looks beautiful in both of these outfits, I think the second one is my favourite :) Whenever I try to follow gps, if it a new place or countryside, I end up getting lost. Hopefully soon they will come up with a really precise GPS that takes you to the destination you want without hassle!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week :)
Ela BellaWorld
Oh I hope they come up with something like that soon too! My GPS has a mind of its own sometimes, haha!
DeleteBoth of these looks are so cute on you. I really love that red cardigan! Such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteFizz and Frosting
I love good colourful cardi, it really adds something special to a fall outfit :)
ReplyDeleteRosy | Sparkles of Light Blog
You look so lovely in bot outfits, I love how the cardigans add a pop of colour to both. Have a lovely week ;)
ReplyDeletetipscapsule.blogspot.com
I also love this kind of tops! They are very comfy but more dressed up that a t.shirt! I think cardigan + button down tanks are a perfect combo for breastfeeding outfit. Right now I'm all about that. I have to make a lot of adjustments with my wardrobe since I'm breastfeeding.
ReplyDeleteLove the touch of red on you!
Hope you enjoy those beautiful day of spring :)
xx
Aurelie | http://www.surface85.com
Yeah breastfeeding outfits can be difficult at first - but once you've figured it out it's a little easier, you have more choice in what you wear and it's not just breastfeeding singlets all the time, hehe!
DeleteI love the first outfit! I love the spring feels to it! And that bag is gorgeous! Gotta love Rebecca Minkoff. :)

Sleeveless, button down tops are my favorite tops to wear during the warmer seasons. I usually wear them with a tank top underneath, in case it gets really hot then I can take them off. And because they are sleeveless, a cardigan or jacket fits beautifully over them if you need coverage for cooler temps. Yours are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh the tank underneath is a great idea! You're right too, they work with hotter and cooler days with the right layers :)
DeleteBoth outfits are ice, but i prefer the first one because of the red cardigan.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week.

Button downs usually tend to dress up any outfit. I really like that first one with the printed shirt and how that red cardigan just makes you glow.

I love both tops and I love your bright long line cardi! I keep getting caught out wearing summery clothes only to realise once I'm out that it's not quite as warm as I thought and needing a cardi!

Yes cardis are great for spring and having in your bag as a "just in case" piece! :)
DeleteCasual chic nailed! The casual of a tank top, the chic of a blouse.
ReplyDeleteLove the Mini MAB. I have the full sized zipper side one and she's very ladylike, but the lack of shoulder strap means she doesn't get many outings.
I do love the shoulder strap giving more carrying options! This is such a versatile bag :)
DeleteButton up for me, and it's been a long time since breast feeding for me! Phew. Great looks too Hun, and nice to link up with you. Jacqui

Both of those outfits are adorable! I'm so glad you're enjoying spring weather there, where I am it is supposed to be fall but mostly it just feels like summer! Thanks for sharing at the Grace + Lace Linkup!
ReplyDeleteWe had the same thing with our autumn earlier this year! The summer heatwaves continued until almost the end of autumn!
DeleteI love a good "button up", so easy to get on and off and they come in so many prints and colors. Love your cardi's. I really like the length and the pretty colors. Very pretty looks on you. - Amy
