What I wore:
Tee: Jeanswest Ruby frill sleeve Ric Rac detailed tee in deep iris (on sale!)
Skirt: Jeanswest zip detail ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne Ava White leopard ballet flats
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy
Why I wore it:
I really like blue and yellow together, so I when I wanted a statement necklace to help dress up this navy tee a little I settled on this yellow beaded one quite quickly! I really liked the combination. The #summerStyleFile style challenge on Instagram had leopard as the prompt, so I decided to add just a little leopard print with these fun Walnut Melbourne ballet flats. Worked so nicely with the neutral outfit.I had a pretty quiet day at work - but did have a blazer handy to further dress up my tee in case an unexpected meeting came up. And for when the office aircon got too cold!
Last worn: navy frill sleeve tee, yellow statement necklace, black pencil skirt, leopard print ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote.
Other ways to wear: navy frill sleeve tee with pink shorts, black pencil skirt for YouTube event, leopard print ballet flats and little black dress, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in winter.
Perfect for pregnancy: black pencil skirt in first trimester, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in third trimester.
In Case You Missed It: I Donated My Hair!
I shared this over on YouTube this weekend, I cut a massive 38 cm off my hair to donate it to Variety (to make wigs for kids with cancer).
I still have quite a backlog of long hair pics to get through before you'll see my shorter locks pop up on the blog.
What I wore:
Tee: Jeanswest Ruby frill sleeve tee in fuchsia
Skirt: Jeanswest black ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in silver)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy
Why I wore it:
Since I liked the outfit combo above so much, I wore the same thing again the next day I was in the office. I picked a sparkly crystal statement necklace this time to go with the hot pink frill sleeve tee. I did feel that the pink tee made the necklace a bit muted - the pink crystals blended in a bit. Probably won't wear the two together again, its' a combination that worked better in my head than in person!I had a bunch of meetings, but they were all virtual ones so my tee was perfectly appropriate. I ended up wearing my blazer for most of the day anyway, we were working in a different area of the office and my desk was right under the aircon vents!
Last worn: pink frill sleeve tee, statement crystal necklace, black pencil skirt, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote (above).
Other ways to wear: pink frill sleeve tee and printed shorts, black pencil skirt and stripes, black ballet flats and printed dress, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote and sheath dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: black pencil skirt in second trimester, black ballet flats in third trimester, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in first trimester.
Frill Sleeve Tees Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A frill sleeve tee is a great twist on a classic tee, while remaining easy to wear. It can be dressed up for a business casual environment with a pencil skirt and statement necklace, or you could add a blazer if your dress code is more formal. It does hide the fun sleeves though!Weekday Wear Linkup #11

I actually like the second outfit a lot, the crystals with the pink tee translate very well in the picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm glad you liked it :)
DeleteYour hair looks so pretty short, Mica! What a wonderful thing to do for such an important charity. I love your frilly tees and how both of your necklaces really pop against them. So pretty! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead. XXX
ReplyDeleteIt was such an easy thing to do really! I'm looking forward to doing it again in a few years :)
DeleteI love the combinations of colours in the first outfit. Blue and grey is always a nice match. I like outfits with neutral colours. That blue top is a lovely match with the blue bag, and the yellow necklace is the perfect accent. The skirt is also very pretty. The second outfit is lovely as well. The statement necklace you wore stands out nicely against the pink top. The heart pedant on the blue bag is a cute pop of colour too.
ReplyDeleteSo amazing you donated your hair to make wigs for kids with cancer. That's such a worthy cause and a noble thing to do.
Thanks, it was such an easy thing to donate!
DeleteCute looks! Have a great week xx

Loving how bright that second look is! I could definitely use that brightness today, it's so gross out!
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for donating your hair!! I did it once when I graduated high school but am too scared to do it again because I don't like myself with short hair, haha!
https://www.closet-fashionista.com/
Yeah the short hair took some time to get used to! But I want to donate again! :)
DeleteThe combination of yellow and blue is one of my favorite! It looks fascinating on you :) The second outfit is just as gorgeous, thank you for the tips.

I love your frilly sleeved tees, Mica. They look so much more "dressed up" than an ordinary one. They would even look dressed up enough for a real life meeting, I guess! Have a wonderful week! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Mica
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I hate blue and black it breaks my nerves!!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. Yes, layering dresses is hard when it is really warm, it's much easier in spring and autumn then it is in summer.

mi piacciono molto entrambi i look
ReplyDeleteThe sleeve details of those tops are so pretty--I love little things like that that take a basic tee up a notch. I also love the combination of navy and gray in your first look--and the pop of yellow with your necklace! I just love neutrals with a bright accent.

I love tops like this with little extra details! You can't really layer much in the summer so these little details make all the difference in adding interest to your outfits. That necklace is such a fun, bright piece! I actually really like how it looks with the pink top, even if it subdues it a bit. Hope you are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteNice! I loved the hair cut!
ReplyDeleteCarina | https://carinazz.blogspot.com/
Donating your hair is such a wonderful gesture and you look great with the new shorter style.
ReplyDeleteI also love the outfits. The first one is my favorite though. I really like how the yellow necklace pops against the navy tee.

DeletePencil skirts are seeeerious wardrobe essentials! They're super flattering and have the ability to transform any outfit into being workwear appropriate. Hope you're having a fabulous week so far, Mica!

I love this bag❤
ReplyDeleteI love that you can dress up, dress down or in between - like you did here - pencil skirts. Both these outfits are perfect business casual looks, but a blazer like you mentioned would make them more classy and professional. That Blue Tote Leather Bag is so chic too and it goes so well with both outfits. I love the pink leather bag tag and it matches so well with the pink+navy combo - one of my favorite color duos for ANY season. But this Spring, navy and yellow is huge as a trending combo of colors so you totally nailed that first outfit too!
ReplyDeleteI’d love for you to join my linkup currently on the blog. Perfect for these outfits too since it is a skirt-themed linkup. Thanks and welcome by, <3 Ada. Also, welcome by Thursday for Thursday Moda. =) Thanks!!

ReplyDeleteVirginia | More to Mrs. E
It's such a cheerful necklace to wear!
DeleteGreat first look, there is something special about the blue top and blue bag worn together.
ReplyDeleteI have to say OMG you are so courageous I would be so terrified cutting SO MUCH in one salon appointment, then I do understand it needs to be one big chop so it can work for the wigs. What a beautiful reason to chop it off. I think you look marvelous with the new hair.
Thanks, I was a little nervous about it but it's for such a good cause!
Deletenavy and yellow are lovely together and I love your bright pink top. That is wonderful you donate your hair to charity, we have a similar one here called Locks for Love and I know you have to have 12 inches to donate. Your hair looks great!
