Camis And Maxi Skirts With Rebecca Minkoff Love Too Bag

Trying an outfit combo I don't wear as often as I used to, pairing cami tops with maxi skirts. And accessorising with my little Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag in deep teal. The bag works well with both these outfits even though they have different colours.

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart teal tassel earrings
Necklace: thrifted pearl and heart charm long necklace
Top: Jeanswest 'Maria' cami in cream
Skirt: Ally Fashion blue border print floral maxi skirt
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

With the pleated ruffle cami and the silky maxi skirt this outfit felt a little overdressed for a quiet Monday. We had the school run, sports and a playdate. I thought the cream cami was so nice with this floral print maxi skirt though, I was eager to pair the two together.  It has been a while since this ruffle cami was last worn too, definitely deserved another outing!

The necklace helped dress this outfit up more as well I felt, especially with the teal tassel earrings too. I thought they were a great match for the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag. Even if it was a little dressier than my usual outfits, and a bit more dressed up than the day needed, I really liked this outfit.

Last worn: ruffle cami, teal tassel earrings, heart charm necklace, floral maxi skirt, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to wearruffle cami and printed jeans, floral maxi skirt and pink tee, studded sandals and maxi dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and denim.

Perfect for pregnancyruffle cami in second trimester, studded sandals in third trimester.

Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Cami: H&M mint v-neck cami
Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

The casual jersey material of this maxi skirt made it feel a little more dressed down than the outfit above. I love this mint cami with blue and you can't go wrong with stripes, it looks great with the navy striped maxi skirt. Added the navy beaded necklace for a little matchy-matchy too.

Not the first time I've worn this cami and the teal bag together either, I really like the combination. Although once again I found myself wishing I'd tucked this cami in when I look back at the photos! I thought that last time I wore it too.

Just like the first outfit above, I went with simple studded sandals again. After the school run we had a couple errands to do and then we spent a bit of time at our favourite library again before school pick up in the afternoon.

Last worn: mint cami, blue and gold necklace, navy stripe maxi skirt, studded sandals (above), Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag (above).

Other ways to wearmint cami and jeans, navy stripe maxi skirt and pink teestudded sandals and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and shorts.

How You Can Wear It:

A simple cami is a nice combination with a more casual maxi skirt - no matter what colour combinations you choose. You can't go wrong with a plain block colour cami and a printed skirt.

Kimonos, Camis and Denim With Love Too Bag: Weekday Wear Link Up

Making the most of the super warm spring weather that felt more like summer that Brisbane enjoyed back in September with camis, kimonos, and denim.

What I wore:

mint cami, denim skirt, tie dye kimono and sneakers, teal rebecca minkoff love too bag | awayfromblue

tie dye kimono and Rebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Jeanswest Kensley summer tie-dye kimono
Necklace: Lovisa silver love knitted heart pendant necklace
Top: H&M mint v-neck cami
Skirt: JayJays distressed denim mini skirt from my sister's wardrobe
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

I absolutely loved this outfit. I feel it looks a little off on the pics because I didn't tuck the cami into the skirt, and I probably should have tucked it in, but wearing this I liked the long loose lines of the untucked top and the tie dye kimono. I thought the navy tie dye looked so good with the mint cami too, and the colours of the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag complimented the outfit so nicely.

I would have liked different shoes with this but stuck with comfortable sneakers for a very busy day with lots of running around. Had my second dose of Pfiiizer which I was pretty excited about, given us 30 year olds were only eligible to get the vaccine in August in Australia. It's good to be as protected as I can be now. God bless science!

After my vaccine appointment, my youngest son and I had a party in the park to attend while hubby took my eldest to a bowling birthday party. Thankfully I didn't experience as much arm pain this time with the second dose as I did with the first dose, but by the end of the night I was exhausted and went to bed early. Had a pretty rough night with fever and nausea, and wasn't feeling the best the next day, but after that day of feeling horrible the side effects passed which was awesome.

Last worn: earringstie dye kimono, knot necklace, mint cami, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag. First time I've worn the denim skirt as it was from my sister's wardrobe clear out earlier in the year when it was too cold to wear it.

Other ways to weartie dye kimono and yellow, mint cami and printed jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and maxi dress.

Why I wore it:

I was glad I'd pre-planned this outfit in advance as I was pretty tired this morning but we again had a big day planned - after the school drop off for my eldest, my little one had his sports class, we had lunch and a playdate, and then sports again for both boys after school pick up in the evening.

Realised while outfit planning in my wardrobe I hadn't worn this cami in quite some time and with a 30 degree day something light like this was the perfect outfit. While there isn't any orange in the pint of this kimono - just mustard and red - I loved the way the two pieces looked together. The bright orange helped me feel I looked a lot better than I felt too! And with all the black in the print the black shorts seemed like the best choice, especially for running around with my son at the playdate.

Again I wore the Rebecca Minkoff deep teal Love Too bag - I thought it complimented the colours of this outfit too and it really pops with the orange cami! Just like it did last time I wore it with orange.

Last worn: Aztec print kimono, orange cami, necklace, black denim shorts, New Balance sneakers, Love Too bag (above).

How You Can Wear It:

Colourful Spring Denim Outfits With White Kimonos and Navy Rebecca Minkoff Regan Bag

For today's Weekday Wear Link up, two colourful spring outfits with denim and kimonos - a frequently worn outfit combination of mine, especially in the warm weather as it's spring right now in Brisbane. However I didn't love both of these outfits equally.

What I wore:

white crochet kimono with printed cami and green skinny jeans navy rebecca minkoff regan bag | away from blue

Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon with printed llama bag charm | away from blue

awayfromtheblue Instagram | green skinny jeanas with crochet kimono printed cami navy bag in mangrove boardwalk

JacketShein lace trimmed crochet inset white kimono c/o
NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Cami: Jeanswest Audrey tonal print tank
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
ShoesNew Balance white and blue sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon

Why I wore it:

I really liked the idea of this outfit when I planned it out in my head. The Rebecca Minkoff navy Regan bag is something I've frequently worn with these green jeans in the past, I like the two together. I thought this printed cami would be a fun addition, a top I hadn't worn in a while. And the white crochet detail kimono was a nice neutral block colour topper over all the print and colour.

We took advantage of the public holiday and headed out on another walk with the kids, through the mangrove boardwalk along the bay. It was a little breezy at home so I anticipated it being quite cool and windy walking along the shoreline, like previous visits, so I wore the jeans instead of shorts. This was a mistake and I was SO hot, there was oddly no breeze coming off the water and I really wished I hadn't worn jeans! Not the best outfit for the day, despite having liked it so much in the morning.

What I wore:

orange and black shorts and tee outfit with digital print kimono statement necklace converse spring style | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon with marigold orange tee and kimono | awayfromtheblue

awayfromtheblue Instagram | digital print kimono, marigold bright tee statement necklace shorts and converse spring style

Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in marigold
Shorts: Jeanswest Sara distressed hot short
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon

Why I wore it:

In contrast to the outfit above, I did wonder a few times if I should have worn jeans instead of shorts! Spent the day with the kids and my mum at the beach, enjoying the sunshine although it was a bit windy and cool in the shade. Was so nice sitting on the sand in the sun though. Even Cooper went in for a paddle into the water and he's not normally a fan of getting wet!

As we didn't have a plan for the day in the morning I'd just picked something comfortable and colourful, with this marigold tee and digital print kimono. I was eager to wear this fun statement necklace again too, it's so light and easy to wear. I did like the black shorts to match the black print on the kimono too, even if I wished they were jeans a couple of times when I got cold! My Rebecca Minkoff navy Regan bag was great for carrying everything the boys and I needed, although it did end up a little full of sand at the end of the day!

How You Can Wear It:

Kimonos and denim is a style staple in spring! You can add some colour to an outfit with a bright tee, colourful jeans or a brightly patterned kimono itself.

Orange Camis and Black Skinny Jeans

Layering up some orange camis for winter with black skinny jeans. Surprisingly, both of these camis came from my family! One from my sister's wardrobe, the other a gift from my mum.

What I wore:

JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
BagRebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC

Why I wore it:

Continuing on with catching up with everyone after our Europe trip, I joined my mum friends for a rare night out. The last one we had was last year! It was good to dress up a little, but I wanted to keep things simple. Jeans and a nice top is a staple "I don't know what to wear" outfit, and was perfect for our dinner date.

The pastel cami is a piece I got from one of my sister's wardrobe clear outs. It was a nice combination with my pale denim moto jacket (a recent purchase) and a nice contrast with the black denim jeans. Of course I couldn't resist matching the blue in the denim jacket with the beaded necklace and the statement earrings. I do love a little matchy-matchy! That's why I picked my metallic Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag to wear too, to match the silver hardware on the jacket.

Last worn: denim jacket, peach cami, beaded necklace, Nobody Denim jeans, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC bag.

Other ways to wear: denim jacket and maxi skirtpeach cami and pleated skirt, Nobody Denim jeans and blazer, black ballet flats and swing dress, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC bag for a wedding.

JeansSass & Bide Playman skinny jeans
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB Camera Bag in almond

Why I wore it:

I was eager to wear this neon orange cami that my mum bought for me in the sales. My sister was buying the black one, and mum knows how much I love colour so thought I'd like this orange one. I love it so much! It has a great strappy back that I'll hopefully get to show off after winter!

A colder day meant I wore a similar outfit combo to the one above but swapped the denim jacket for a cosy wool maxi cardigan. This was perfectly comfortable for church, and kept me warm. Even with the bright orange cami, I wanted to add a little more interest to the outfit with the bold statement necklace and the printed jeans. It made for a really fun outfit!

With all the colour and print, I thought the neutral Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag would be the best accessory. I like how the tan worked with the orange cami as well as the neutral black and grey.

Last worn: wool cardigan, Ruby Olive necklace, Sass & Bide jeans, black ballet flats (above), Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag. First time I've worn the cami as it's a recent addition to my wardrobe.

Other ways to wearwool cardigan and printed scarf, Sass & Bide jeans with red cardi, black ballet flats and wrap dress, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag and maxi skirt.

Ruffle Camis and Blue Pencil Skirts For The Office | Weekday Wear Linkup

Summer time means I get my camis out, and wonder why I never wear them! These spaghetti strap ruffle camis are so fun to wear, even though in most offices you'll have to cover them up, with a cardigan like I did in the first outfit, or a blazer in the second. I've got another edition of my weekly linkup you can join at the end too!

What I wore:

summer office outfit pleated white ruffle cami with lace navy pencil skirt and rebecca minkoff regan bag | away from blue

lace pencil skirt and navy moon rebecca minkoff regan satchel bag llama bag charm | away from the blue

NecklaceRuby Olive Art series long striped pod necklace
CamiJeanswest 'Maria' cami in cream
SkirtAsos blue textured lace pencil skirt
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
BagRebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon

Why I wore it:

As mentioned above, I did throw a cardi on over this in the office, but it was much too hot that morning to take pics with it on!

When I was thinking up what to wear to work I was surprised to see that I hadn't worn these pieces together before! They are both older pieces in my wardrobe, and I've worn this blue lace skirt with white tops in the past, just not this cami. I really liked the combination. Simple for a hot day and the subtle pleated texture to the cami worked really well with the textured pencil skirt I thought.

Of course with the navy skirt I had to pick a navy bag, so I went with this Rebecca Minkoff Regan bag for a little matchy-matchy. This bag is a great neutral base, perfect for further accessorising so I added my new llama keychain. 😂 I have a lot of fun bag charms, but this one made me smile as soon as I saw it and I knew I had to buy it right away! I added more colour to my outfit with this dotty necklace, such a great accessory with the blue and white.

Last worn: white cami, colourful statement necklace, blue lace pencil skirt, silver ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Regan.

Other ways to wearwhite cami and maxi skirt, blue lace pencil skirt in monochrome outfit, silver ballet flats and skinny jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Regan and pleated skirt.

Perfect for pregnancywhite cami in second trimester, blue lace pencil skirt in third trimester, silver ballet flats in third trimester.

Why I wore it:

A little cooler this morning (although not by much!) so I had my blazer on in photos. This cami looks a bit rumpled in the photos, but it was a pleasure to wear. Again, it was a simple outfit, I like peach and navy together so the jacquard skirt and plain ruffle cami seemed like a good pairing. I was in a bit of a rush that morning though and not feeling the best, so a hastily half tucked cami is what you get!

I actually wasn't sure I'd make it through the whole day at work, but with a lot of meetings I powered through and got to the end of the day. Overall I liked this outfit as much as the one above, I just didn't enjoy wearing it as much as I wasn't feeling the best!

Ruffle Camis Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

A classic cami and pencil skirt is a work staple! In most offices, spaghetti straps are frowned on or just not allowed in the office dress code. It's easy to cover up and make your look a little more formal with a blazer, perfect for a day of meetings! Or if your office is a little more casual like mine you could just throw a cardigan on top.

Rainy Day Style: Ruffle Camis and Skinny Jeans With Purple Balenciaga Work Bag

While it's still summer here in Brisbane, a few weeks back we were hit with some very un-seasonal weather. A sudden cold snap lead to the coldest February day in over 100 years! While most of my winter things are boxed away over summer, I managed to find pieces to make my cami tops more appropriate for the cold weather. I've been wanting to wear them more, before summer ends.

What I wore:

groutfit: grey outfit rainy day style with purple accessories balenciaga work bag | awayfromblue

groutfit: grey outfit with purple balenciaga work bag smooshy raisin g21 silver hardware

awayfromblue instagram grey cardi skinny jeans printed cami with purple teething necklace balenciaga work bag

CamiJeanswest Audrey tonal print tank
JeansJeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
BagBalenciaga raisin purple 2009 giant silver G21 hardware work bag

Why I wore it:

I didn't include this cardigan in the box of winter knits I pack away for summer, as I keep it out to wear in the office now and then. I was so glad I kept this as it was perfect for a chilly day. With the grey cardigan, grey skinny jeans and metallic silver flats and the neutral printed cami it all looked a bit boring, so the purple accessories were the perfect way to add a little bit of colour. It met the purple style challenge theme perfectly too!

I didn't expect to be pulling out my jeans so soon into the year, but I wasn't too upset at having a chance to wear these grey skinnies. They are the most recent addition to my denim collection after I got given them last year and a pair I'm sure will get a lot more wear over winter.

It was nice how easily this outfit came together. There was a break in the rain in the morning too, so we managed to get out and have our morning walk before having a quiet Saturday at home watching the rain fall outside.

Last worn: grey cardigan, printed cami, grey skinny jeans, metallic ballet flats, Balenciaga work bag.

Other ways to weargrey cardigan and maxi dress, printed cami and red jeans, grey skinny jeans for flying with toddlers, metallic ballet flats and blue dress, Balenciaga work bag and fit and flare dress.

BagBalenciaga raisin purple 2009 giant silver G21 hardware work bag

Why I wore it:

A little bit of double denim. Again, I had the style challenge theme to dress to. This time the theme was 'indigo'. I'd planned a lovely navy dress to wear, but the weather made me change that pretty quickly to the denim jacket. With the black skinny jeans, it's an easy way to do double denim, and it kept me warm enough on a cold and rainy day. As did all the running around I had to do - after a week where things seemed to go from bad to worse, Friday was me trying to keep things together and get everything done to get to the weekend.

I'd picked this cami to wear as I've been trying to wear my camis more recently, and this one is one of my least worn. It's a cropped style, but being petite it's normal length on me. While I like this cami in the photos, I didn't feel very comfortable wearing it. The cropped length becomes more apparent when you've got your hands full with a wriggly toddler, and I found myself tugging the top back down a few times. While the ruffles are beautiful and the colours mean it goes with so much, it was just too fussy to wear. The back is cropped shorter than the front too and I found myself wishing I'd worn a normal length top many times when bending down to the boys, even though my jeans are mid-rise.

4 Ways to Wear a botanical print floral ruffle cami | away from the blue blog

Looking at it, I'm thinking I should keep it, it's so pretty! But I know it's so annoying to wear it's not worth keeping around just for me to realise in a few months it hasn't been worn, to wear it again and feel the same frustrations. I have plenty other camis I enjoy wearing more, so this one is leaving my wardrobe. 5 wears in 3 years is pretty bad cost per wear, but it's time to let it go!
