What I wore:
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in elfin yellow
Shorts: thrifted Jeanswest distressed denim shorts
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
Wore this to visit the doctors, before they had moved to telehealth appointments. I've been at this doctor's surgery for over a decade, so it was nice being able to talk to a trusted medical professional about everything that's happening and the best ways to keep the kids safe. It was a strange experience with waiting in our car before being called in to go through to the doctor - the waiting room has been striped back to just a handful of chairs for social distancing!Wanted to be bright and colourful so tried this pastel yellow tee with the navy floral kimono. I really liked the combination, even if I did really feel like a necklace would have been the final finishing touch! (I've mentioned before due to how often the kids and I play with my necklaces I don't feel safe wearing them outside the house, trying to minimise how many times I touch things and reduce the risk of transferring germs).
I did accessorise with the Rebecca Minkoff micro Beford bag - it's so cute in navy and goes with everything, which is helpful as it's one of the two "outdoors" bags I have, again to try minimise the germs!
Last worn: floral kimono, yellow tee, distressed denim shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.
Other ways to wear: floral kimono and jeans, yellow tee with olive, distressed denim shorts and printed tee, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag with green.
Perfect for pregnancy: floral kimono at 39 weeks.
Handbag Reveal: Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford Bag:
What I wore:
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Shorts: Jeanswest Sara distressed hot short
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
I felt that the kids needed to get out the house so we took Cooper on a short walk around the neighbourhood. Since hubby has been working from home as well, whenever I have needed to go out for groceries they have stayed home with him, and the schools are closed so there are no other outings and they needed to get out. It was good to see something outside our fence, and while we did see people out as well we kept a safe distance, with social distancing in place.I felt a little overdressed for walking the dog, especially with the matchy-matchy purple tee and purple printed kimono, but when we saw a few neighbours outside too I was glad I'd changed out of my loungewear!
I only needed my phone and keys but brought this little Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag along anyway as it was a good excuse to give it another wear. Cooper being chased by the kids all day every day now means he doesn't need as many walks as usual, and my knee injury means I can't walk very far anyway, but it was still good to get outside the house.
Last worn: purple kimono, lilac tee, black denim shorts, New Balance (above), Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford (above).
Other ways to wear: purple kimono and maxi dress, lilac tee and stripe skirt, black denim shorts and scarf, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford worn two ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: lilac tee in second trimester.
Printed Kimonos Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A printed kimono is a fun finishing layer with a staple shorts and tee outfit. It's a great way to add more colour and print. You can try contrasting colours like I have in the first outfit, or be a little more matching like in the second outfit.Linking up with Mutton Style, Glass of Glam.
Looking lovely, Mica! This shade of blue happens to be one of my favorites too, the bag looks so nice. I like your comfy, yet very girly outfits xx

I love that purple on you Mica - it's so pretty! It is weird doing things so differently now like waiting in your car until appointment time. It does sound like it's all working though so hopefully things will return to normal soon!

Yes I wonder how long changes like that will need to stay for!

It's okay to be overdressed doing simple things these days. That is just one of life's simple pleasures at this point! You look beautiful these outfits. I especially love that purse in the first look. It is really gorgeous!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Yes if I didn't dress up for the little things I'd never get dressed, haha!
DeleteI've managed to completely stay away from doctors and dentists at this point, but I do see that at least some of the doctors' offices are also doing curbside examinations in pediatrics practices. I'm still going out every day to the office but we're on a skeleton crew at this point (not that it ever gets too crowded there) and wearing face masks, so I'm not feeling the isolation that so many are. But if I were, I'd be dressing up just a little bit just in case I did run into somebody I know. Apparently some guy went to his mailbox without his pants on, so of course there was a news story about it. I think self-isolation is giving people the confidence that they're OK wearing whatever they like. I don't ever see myself getting into that frame of mind :/ I love both of these looks on you....yes, even the matchy-matchy one. I really love that yellow tee shirt with the navy blue kimono, though - such a pretty contrast. And the bag is beautiful - I love that size (for short trips out).

haha I've done the mailbox check in my pyjamas before, that always seems to match the time my neighbours are out with their dogs, oops! (I do wear pyjama pants at least!)
DeleteI take the kids outside once a day too, but limit that to times when there aren’t many people outside so it is easier to keep them at distance.
ReplyDeleteThose are both very cute outfits Mica. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love how the color of the bag mixes with kimonos. So very adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuch great warm weather styles! Loving how the kimonos finish off the looks! It snowed here over night, my daughter just built a snowman...not sure we've ever gotten this much snow this time of the year. But it won't last long, luckily.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well and are keeping safe!

It's incredible you have snow!

I've finally managed to accumulate several printed kimonos and do enjoy sprucing up an outfit with them. I've barely been out of the house at all. Have a very large yard and on the warmer days have taken my little dog out on a leash and just walked around in the sunshine.

Kimonos are great like that! It's nice your yard is big enough for your dog to walk around :)
DeleteBoth of these kimonos are beautiful! Perfect to dress up casual looks.

I think your kimonos struck the right balance for you to feel a little dressed up, but not overdone. The micro bag is the cutest--it looks good with your proportions. I have a Dr. appointment next week, I don't know what to expect.
ReplyDeleteHope it went okay! Our doctors are so good with explaining all the chages!

I'm proud of you for putting your best foot forward and wearing some bright and interesting clothing in this difficult time, Mica! It feels good to be "overdressed" even if that is a t-shirt and shorts! Imagine how weird it feels for me, in my dressy clothes nearly every day! It's the little things that can make the most difference in the long run, though.
ReplyDeleteLove your kimono collection. My 2-3 kimonos/dusters are out and I'm excited to get a few wears in!
Glad to hear that you're staying safe. Big (virtual) hugs to you.
Thanks Sheila! I am trying to make an effort a couple of times a week!
DeleteOh for the days when we can actually go somewhere and do something! I love your kimonos, especially the purple one. We have to dress up once in a while, even if we don't go anywhere, we have to do it for ourselves. Stay safe and have a great weekend. - Amy

ReplyDeleteYes have to take the chance when you can now!
DeleteI love your kimono! I been toying around the idea of buying one but was afraid I couldn't find a relaxed and causal way to wear, I really love how you styled it with shorts!

It totally okay to be over dresses at some time. Right now I'm the only person that lives our house hold. Some day I wish we didn't have to give up are dogs.

Oh how I wish it were warm enough to wear shorts in Wisconsin! So cute! Love the kimonos.
ReplyDeleteCute outfits as always:) And you know what they say...better to be overdressed than underdressed! And I also go out for walks with the kids whenever the weather permits it. We all should stay healthy and going out for walks is ok as long as we social distance:)
ReplyDeleteStay safe:)
Yes it's nice to get out when we can!
DeleteI love your kimono collection♥
ReplyDeleteWhile it must have been strange waiting in your car to get into the doctor's, I'm sure it was all worth it for being able to talk to a professional. There are so many scaremongering theories out there and your mind is getting boggled by it all. It's nice too that you were able to take the boys for a walk. And surely any outfit improves from being worn with a kimono! I especially love your second outfit, that washed-out lilac is such a delicious shade! Do stay safe, Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteI've been a patient at this surgery for so long it's been nice being able to get an opinion I trust each appointment!
DeleteYour Rebecca Minkoff bag is so cute!! I need something small like that. Yellow clothes have been super trendy lately! I love that you always find ways to mix and match your clothes nicely. Have a great weekend!

What a fab bag! I was leaning towards more casual athleisure wear when I used to work from home on my own but lately I'm not into pants and finding myself wanting to wear dresses all the time now maybe because I'm spending more time out on the terrace as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice you can get dressed up! :)
DeleteYou always have the best Rebecca Minkoff bags! It's funny how a walk in the neighborhood also makes me feel like I got out of the house these days. Stay safe!

Gorgeous kimonos! I love the layering in both outfits. It's nice you get to take a walk around your neighborhood. During the restricted movement here, even walks are a privilege. Luckily I get to walk around the yard hahah! I do miss walking in our town's garden though. Can't wait to have that simple experience again. :D Wishing you a fab weekend ahead :)
