What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in marigold
Jeans: Sass & Bide Playman skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag
Why I wore it:
This was a really fun outfit! These Sass and Bide chevron print skinny jeans make such a statement on their own, but I thought I'd try the marigold tee with them for something really bold. I did end up adding the denim jacket on top too so it wasn't too much together, and it helped keep me cosy as it was quite a windy day! I really like the double denim with such different coloured denim pieces together, I thought it went well and the blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and necklace tied in with the blue of the jacket. Blue pairs so nicely with orange!A comfortable jeans and tee outfit for the school run, spending time scootering around with my son and walking Cooper, and then sports in the evening.
Last worn: moto denim jacket, marigold tee, gold and navy necklace, Sass and Bide chevron skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: moto denim jacket and maxi skirt, marigold tee over a dress, Sass and Bide chevron skinny jeans in monochrome outfit, Converse and skater dress, Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC with blue and pink.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.
Favourite Rebecca Minkoff Bag In My Handbag Collection:
What I wore:
Necklace: navy and silver circle pendant tassel necklace
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Julian nylon backpack in bright blue
Why I wore it:
A little more of a colourful combination with this recently purchased top! Admittedly when I ordered it online I thought it was more mustard than orange, despite the marigold name for the colour. It's a stunning bright colour though and oh so comfortable - I saw it working well for the rare zoom meetings I have at work where I want to look bright and cheerful but also be comfortable too, the slouchy oversized style and dolman sleeves are just perfect for that.As it is such a voluminous top I wanted to balance it out with skinny jeans, but also really have fun with the orange colour so I decided to try these thrifted Asos green jeans with it. Such a fun combination!
The daggy sneakers and the practical Rebecca Minkoff Julian nylon backpack were because I headed out with the kids for the day, making the most of the nice weather and the pupil free day to explore along our favourite trail again, visit a new one, and just keep the kids out the house for a few hours so hubby could work from home in peace and quiet! I was so glad I had these comfortable shoes, especially on the second trail as my injured knee was really complaining!
May have been a bit overly colourful for hiking around some trails, considering we didn't bump into anyone else but a snake all day, but it was nice to try a new colour combo. And thankfully the snake slithered away quickly!
Last worn: navy tassel necklace, green skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack. First time I've shared the top on the blog as it's a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: green skinny jeans and ombre knit, Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack with stripes.
How You Can Wear It:
There are so many different shades of orange around at the moment for spring - it's a really fun colour to wear! You can try it with neutrals like blue denim jackets or black jeans, or go a little bolder and pair it with bright blues and green denim!
I like orange tops :-D
ReplyDeleteI love that jacket and leggings combo - that jacket is seriously too good!

I would never have thought to wear orange and green togehter before. You first outfit would be prefect for Halloween. I hope you are doing well.

It was a fun combo to try! :)
DeleteMICA!! I am seriously - jaw-dropped-on-floor - blown away by these two bright and amazing outfits! You look stunning in this colour, and you have hit on the magic blue-orange combo! They are opposites on the colour wheel, and are complementary colours, which is why they look so good together.
ReplyDeleteDid you find that wearing bright orange/yellow affects your mood? I'm curious, as yellow is always a colour that cheers me up and disguises when I'm in a low mood.
Mission for you, should you choose to accept it: find some less daggy (heh, I love that word) sneakers. You are a shopper extraordinaire, my dear - if you can find a sweater, you can find some comfortable, supportive and STYLISH sneakers! ;-)
Thanks Sheila! I've been adding a lot more orange to my wardrobe lately, not as hard to wear as I first thought! :) I've been torn between wanting to graduate from having to wear sneakers all the time and acknowledging that I may have to be wearing them for a long time yet...but I did buy replacement ones last month. They aren't quite as ugly...
DeleteOrange and blue is one of my favourite colour combinations, so your first outfit is definitely making my heart sing. I do love those zig-zag patterned jeans too. A very funky outfit! Your green skinnies with your newly purchased orange top definitely meets my approval too. I do wish all hikers were as colourful as that! xxx
ReplyDeleteYes to the color. You style it well.

I really love the color of your top. It is like a rich orange - something that looks great to the eyes without being too overpowering. I love the pairing with the patterned skinny jeans! Definitely something I haven't seen before but pulled off really well. I like the combo with the second outfit. So interesting that the top gives different hues hehe. Oooh I LOVE nylon backpacks. So easy to maintain. Thanks for sharing! Have a lovely weekend!

I really like that second top, hopefully they have it at the US kmart, it looks so comfortable and I like the texture. I really like how you used complementary colors in your second outfit also.

It's a shame our Kmarts are so different, I know the US one isn't doing as well as the Australian one!
DeleteThe marigold orange is a nice shade. The skinny jeans looks great on you.

Love seeing all these bright colours on you, Mica:) You look fab as always. Totally digging that marigold top for sure.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend so far:)
I always shy away from wearing bright colours for some reason, maybe just because I'm not a confident dresser and always try to play it safe but as you've shown in those photos, they are such a vibrant, happy addition to any wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteMusings & More
That is such a sunny and fun color!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for me, orange is one color I just can't pull off!!
Oh, I love that second top. It not only looks comfortable but is vey flattering. Looks good both with and without the scarf. Pants are cute too - great outfit!

The orange is such a gorgeous colour, I have a couple of bits in shades like this but don't wear them that often as I struggle with styling them sometimes. I never think to wear them with other bold colours but it looks fun! x

DeleteYour printed jeans are so fun and you always find new ways to style them! Have you gotten to 30 wears yet?
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
DeleteNot yet with these jeans - although I'm getting close! I'll need to try harder to rewear them more often next winter and get them up to 30 wears!
That marigold color is so pretty on you, and I love how it will work for so many different seasons!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange and green color combo! It's vibrant and very eye catching. Definitely lifted my mood and made me happy! I have the mini RM Julian backpack and I love it so much. It fits everything I need and the design is unique! Btw, I couldn't comment on your current two posts because I couldn't find a comment box. I just wanted to let you know that it's missing from the end of your two current posts. I hope you are doing well and happy Wednesday!
