What I wore:
Necklace: Roie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Tee: Big W mustard v-neck tee
Jeans: Nobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Balenciaga first bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
With the suddenly warmer weather I wanted to get one of my kimonos out again! This duster one is great as it has longer sleeves that I appreciated doing the school drop off in the morning when it was a bit cooler. It was really warm in the afternoon though and I was glad it's not too thick a fabric!I've worn it with yellow before, but it's the first time I've paired this mustard tee with it and I really liked the combination. The turquoise Balenciaga first bag is something I've accessorised this kimono with before though, such a fun way to wear even more colour to the already colourful print.
These Nobody Denim skinny jeans are a firm favourite as they go with everything and with the comfortable stretch in them they were perfect for a day of working from home with the school run and an afternoon specialists appointment.
Last worn: floral print kimono, feather necklace, mustard tee, Nobody Denim skinny jeans, Converse, Balenciaga turquoise first bag.
Other ways to wear: floral print kimono and dress, mustard tee and maxi skirt, Nobody Denim skinny jeans and band tee, Converse and striped dress, Balenciaga turquoise first bag and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.
My Kimono Collection & How I Wear Them:
What I wore:
Scarf: Alexander McQueen azure wool skull scarf
Tee: Atmos&Here charcoal grey v neck tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Balenciaga first bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
This was a busy day, with an early appointment for my youngest right after school drop off. I had to drive into the city for it and although I know some work places are back it was still busier than I expected on the drive in.As it was a bit of a chilly morning I took advantage of needing to layer by adding some colourful pieces to an otherwise monochrome outfit. It's the first time I've worn this grey tee and the grey skinny jeans together but they were a great outfit base for the teal and turquoise Alexander McQueen skull scarf and the mustard cardigan. I liked how the turquoise skulls matched the Balenciaga first bag too.
Last worn: mustard cardigan, teal skull scarf, grey v neck tee, grey skinny jeans, Converse (above), Balenciaga turquoise first bag (above).
Other ways to wear: mustard cardigan and orange dress, teal skull scarf with red cardi, grey v neck tee and shorts, grey skinny jeans and leather jacket, Converse and maxi skirt, Balenciaga turquoise first bag and navy dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: grey v neck tee in second trimester, Converse in third trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
Yellow and blue look great together, and turquoise and mustard are a nice example of that. With a bold colour combo you can keep the rest of your outfit neutral like I did in the second outfit with the monochrome grey, or add even more colour with a bright printed piece like the kimono in the first outfit.

I really love this colour combo - and it seems really well suited for winter to spring transitional outfits as it reminds me of both fall and spring/summer colour palettes.

That's a beautiful kimono on you, I love the floral color mix! Thanks for sharing your awesome kimono collection video with us! What a fun weekend with 2 birthday parties. It's hard on the kids in our area, we are very restricted and social distancing. In our neighborhood, the family with the birthday makes a big sign to put in the front yard of their house, and everyone honks the car horn and claps as they go by in celebration!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice way to celebrate despite the restrictions!
DeleteSo cute❤
ReplyDeleteI always like how you showcase a color scheme two different ways!!
