What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in azalea pinkSkirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)
Why I wore it:
I had planned to wear this maxi skirt for Monday but I was a little unsure with the rain forecast! Luckily while it did rain this maxi skirt isn't a floor brushing length so it stayed dry. A striped maxi skirt is a staple and in a neutral navy it goes with so much in my wardrobe, I'm going to hit 30 wears on it next year for sure. As I really like blue and pink together I wanted to wear this pink v-neck tee with the navy skirt. Surprisingly it's the first time I've worn the two pieces together despite my love for pink and blue. While the bright pink of the tee looks great against the navy, so does this little blush Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag. The blush pink works well with both the bright pink and the navy, it's a really versatile shade of pink.
Wore my comfortable Converse for a little bit of running around with the school run, sports for the little one, and then sports for both kids in the evening after school pick up.
Last worn: pink tee, silver circle necklace, navy stripe maxi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Darren messenger bag.
Other ways to wear: pink tee and shorts, navy stripe maxi skirt in monochrome outfit, white Converse and printed jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Darren messenger bag and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.

Review and What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Darren
What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Skirt: Jeanswest Farrah blue tie dye maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)
Why I wore it:
Again with another blue printed maxi skirt and the same blush pink Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag. Like the navy skirt in the first outfit, the blush pink works so well with the lighter blue tie dye print on this maxi skirt. I added another colour to this outfit too with the lilac v-neck tee. Pink, purple and blue are such a lovely trio together!I wasn't too sure at first about the gold statement circle necklace with the silver hardware on the Darren bag, but I really wanted to wear my new-to-me necklace I picked up at the opshop as soon as possible! It was a nice accessory with the lilac tee and I think the mixed metals worked. Again I went with Converse, blue ones this time to match the light tie dye on the skirt.
Another nice colourful and comfortable outfit, it was a very humid day so I was glad we were able to enjoy the aircon in church that morning!
Last worn: lilac tee, tie dye maxi skirt, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff peony small Darren bag (above). First time I've worn the gold necklace as it was a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: lilac tee and culottes, tie dye maxi skirt in monochrome outfit, blue Converse and tee dress, Rebecca Minkoff peony small Darren bag and pink dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: lilac tee in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Pink and blue are lovely together in any shades, as you can see in these two outfits with the different shades of blue. For something a little different you can add in a third colour as well! Lilac works equally well with pink and blue.
I love a good v-neck tee, such a flattering style. Glad the hem of your skirt didn't get wet with the rain, I've certainly been there and done that! Love the colors in these looks.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week Mica!
xo,
Kellyann
Yes I love maxi skirts but hate the wet hems when I wear them in the rain, haha!

ReplyDeleteI love the first outfit - the blush pink bag goes so well with it. I think the gold circle necklace is an awesome statement piece - I never worry too much about mixed metals. Hope your week is going well, Mica!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila! I don't mind mixing metals in a small way, this just felt like such a big way with the necklace. it is beautiful though, a fab opshop find!
DeleteI love the blue and pink combo!

ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
It is such a great piece, a very lucky opshop find!
DeleteWhat cute outfits! They're the perfect mix of dressy and casual! And I think the gold statement necklace looks great with your outfit! I've always heard it's fine to mix metals, but I think it really depends on the shades as sometimes gold can look really yellow.
ReplyDeleteYes some metals seem easier to mix than others!
DeleteThat bright pink top looks so pretty against the pale pink purse. You def. know how to style maxi skirts so nicely!

ReplyDeleteHello Mica, wishing you a good start of the weekend!
ReplyDeleteBoth options are so nice and colorful for spring-summer! I'd say the first one is my favorite since that touch of blush pink is really nice and perfect to mix with other garments and accessories! Hope you got a lot of chances to wear those maxi skirts! Here the weather is getting cold and windy :O
