What I wore:
Dress: thrifted Kmart white and navy long sleeve stripe tee dress (new purchase)
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC
Why I wore it:
Was excited to wear this dress for the first time, and a slightly cooler spring day was the perfect opportunity! I'd just bought it at the opshop the week before for $1. The necklace was thrifted in the same trip for $2 as well and they work really nicely together. The Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag was a preloved eBay find at just $29.75 so that leaves the Converse shoes as the most expensive piece in my outfit! I bought them over a decade ago though so don't remember exactly how much they cost. The striped dress was so stretchy and comfortable for a day of working from home and doing the school run - and it looked nice and presentable for a zoom call too!
Last worn: white Converse all star, neon pink mini MAC bag. First time I've worn the dress and necklace as they are recent purchases.
Other ways to wear: white Converse all star and maxi skirt, neon pink mini MAC bag with monochrome black outfit.
Perfect for pregnancy: white Converse all star in second trimester.
My Rebecca Minkoff Handbag Collection:
What I wore:
Dress: Atmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta
Why I wore it:
This navy striped tee dress is the reason I knew I had to buy the white striped tee dress! I really like this one and while it's a thicker fabric and so worn more on cooler days it's a firm favourite of mine. Really similar to the white one above too! Just a different hem and shorter sleeves, and of course a darker colour.I accessorised this in a very similar way, with a pink Rebecca Minkoff bag, the Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody this time, and another statement necklace. Again this was a work from home outfit, as well as doing the school run and taking my son to an appointment in the afternoon. Another comfortable outfit for sitting at my desk all day working after running around dropping the kids to school.
Last worn: navy stripe tee dress, statement necklace, black Converse all star, Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag.
Other ways to wear: navy stripe tee dress and ankle boots, black Converse all star and tee dress, Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: navy stripe tee dress in second trimester, Converse in third trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
A striped tee dress is a classic and comfortable option! For days with the kids, pick one with a longer hem like the white one in the first outfit, or a dipped hem at the back like the second one. Because stripes go with everything you can add some fun statement accessories like a bright pink bag or a layered necklace.

I love both WFH looks! It's amazing how long converse sneakers can last, isn't it? I've had mine for years and years too! I've recently started thrifting/second hand shopping and somebody needs top stop me, haha. I'm finding aaaalll the deals and I'm loving it! xo
ReplyDeleteYes they are such good quality - mine are holding up so well! :) Just chuck them in the washing machine now and then to clean them up, haha!
DeleteLove your signature style always, Mica. Here you paired a long-sleeve striped dress with a long beaded necklace, a fun colorful Rebecca Minkoff crossbody bag and Converse shoes and it worked! You look so put together for working from home and virtual school. I own several striped dresses like these and find them very versatile. =)
ReplyDeleteWelcome and join my Style Monday collaboration linkup this week and this week's Thursday Moda. =)) Thanks.
I love those style dresses! I struggle getting them to fit me right though because I'm tall so they sit above my knees which I hate! I've kind of switched to maxi dresses during pregnancy and might get more for after.
