V-Neck Tees Knotted Over Tiered Sundresses With Rebecca Minkoff Love Bag

I'm a little sad that Kmart hasn't brought these strappy tiered sundresses back again this year, I was so hoping they would! They are such a staple in my wardrobe and they aren't just worn in the summer months. Today I'm sharing two spring outfits I made with them by knotting some tees over the top. I did this in winter too with knits.

Why I wore it:

I wore this a little bit too late for Halloween! But I did like the black and orange combo. This v-neck tee is a recent purchase from the Jeanswest sale. I picked it up as I loved the orange, and went to try it on. Then it looked so mustard in the change room. I asked the SA as I was buying it, it's definitely not mustard right?! ha! I do love mustard but I already have a mustard tee.

Like you do with a new purchase, I wanted to wear this shortly after I bought it and realised it would be a great pop of colour with this little black tiered sundress. With the nude studded gladiator sandals and the grey Rebecca Minkoff love bag, I wanted to add a little more colour to the outfit and this Ruby Olive necklace was perfect! It was a Christmas gift from my bestie last year.

I liked the slight extra warmth this tee gave layered over the sundress for church too - always so cold in church with the aircon!

Why I wore it:

Another outfit I wore to church, another tee knotted over a sundress! Unlike the first outfit, I let the dress be the colour with the blue and pink print and went with a neutral grey tee to match the Rebecca Minkoff Love bag. Picked the black ankle boots as I wore this a few weeks before the first outfit, where I wanted a little extra warmth for the cooler spring morning. It turned into a beautifully warm day by the afternoon though.

This grey tee is such a wardrobe staple - I have a 30 ways to wear post coming up with it soon because I've finally achieved over 30 wears with it. It was one of the pieces I searched through my blog archives for first when I heard about the 30 wears challenge, so sure that I'd have already hit 30 wears with it! I have finally got over 30 wears with it now, and I've been putting a 30 wears post together every month for almost 2 years, haha!

I knotted this tee to the side but I preferred the way I knotted the tee in the first outfit, making the knot more of a statement.

I'd usually do an extra post for this with a video but I've been a bit unwell this month and lost my voice for over a week so I'm just adding a little note onto this post. I also only bought three things:

Weekday Wear Linkup! Belted Fit and Flare Dresses With Tees Underneath and Balenciaga Day Bags

For today's Weekday Wear Linkup I'm layering some 3/4 sleeve tees under classic fit and flare dresses. And adding all the accessories! The last of our stuff is out of storage and my uncle helped me finish the rest of my wardrobe room so I finally have all of my clothes and accessories in one wardrobe room in our new house, making me very happy indeed!

What I wore:

Shoes: Walnut Melbourne Ava white leopard ballet flats

Bag: Balenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta

Why I wore it:

It's not the first time I've layered a neutral tee under this black fit and flare dress. It makes it the perfect base for some bright accessories, and this magenta Balenciaga day bag matches so nicely with this magenta skinny belt. Which I haven't worn for a few years as it's just recently been uncovered from storage after our move (I went into a little bit more detail about the return of the belts here). So happy to see it again, it's a great colour match to this Balenciaga day bag.

The pink crystals in the necklace don't match the magenta pink exactly, but I still liked the extra touch of colour it added to the outfit. Went a little further and added the printed shoes too, these leopard print ballet flats are so fun to wear with a monochromatic outfit.

They grey tee wasn't really needed underneath in the heat of the day but it was appreciated in the cold aircon at work, even if I did overheat a little when my friend and I went out for a walk at lunch time, where I posed in front of yet another jacaranda tree!

Why I wore it:

Even more colourful this time, on my next day in the office I wore another fit and flare dress, this one in a classic black and white stripe. I added a teal tee underneath and then some red accessories - mostly because I felt these red suede ballet flats were overdue a wear and you know I can't resist a little matchy-matchy!

With the red belt, shoes and Hermes Kelly bracelet I felt a red necklace might have been a little too much so I picked this anchormen crystal statement necklace instead. The blue Balenciaga day bag isn't a great match to the teal tee, but I thought it complimented it nicely and this bag looks great with red!

A fit and flare dress is such a staple, and with a sleeveless one like these two you can easily layer a tee underneath if the office aircon is a little chilly, bypassing the need for a blazer or cardigan on top. You can add some colour with bright accessories like statement necklaces or belts. A fit and flare dress looks great belted!

Weekday Wear Linkup: Two Ways To Wear A Grey Skater Dress

For today's Weekday Wear Linkup I'm showing you two ways to wear a simple grey skater dress, taking it from work to a night out by changing the accessories.

This neutral grey dress is a great staple in my wardrobe and really should be worn more! I packed it for our Europe trip and it reminded me I should get it out more often.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

Was feeling a bit uninspired with what to wear, knowing I had a busy day at work and then a night out in the evening. A dress is an easy outfit staple so I went with that, and this grey one is extremely comfortable. Kept it monochrome for a day in the office, wearing it with my black boucle jacket to dress up the casual tee fabric a little, the sparkly statement necklace worked well to do that too.

The big purple Balenciaga work bag adds a pop of colour. I find it so hard to do monochrome looks, I always sneak some colour in somewhere! I'm thrilled I got to wear the shoes again too, it's been a while since the last wearing and I've tried to wear them recently but the rainy forecast always made me change my mind, they were definitely overdue a wear and I'm pleased the weather cooperated this time!

And yes, I held the Balenciaga work bag backwards in every pic...obviously not properly awake that morning!

Why I wore it:

After the busy day at work I came home and quickly got changed to head out to dinner with some mum friends. I swapped the boucle blazer for this green floral duster. I love the bold burst of colour it adds to the neutral grey and I like the skater dress and duster combo - I've worn this skater dress with another duster before too.

The navy necklace and tassel earrings added more colour to the dress, and the tan boots are a neutral classic. It was a cooler spring evening and I was grateful I'd picked ankle boots to wear on the way home from the restaurant, kept me a little cosier. I didn't need to bring much as it was a kid-free dinner so wore my Amerii round straw cross body bag. Simple little outfit changes that had me ready and out the door quick enough to be on time for dinner, after giving the boys plenty of hugs!

I got ready so quickly I forgot to put on the bracelets I'd set aside, but I think the navy necklace and earrings were enough extra colour with the green kimono.

Weekday Wear Linkup! Printed Dresses And Blush Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Small Darren

For today's Weekday Wear Linkup I'm sharing my solution for those "I don't know what to wear to the office" days, a pretty printed dress! Both of these dresses are oldies in my wardrobe, so I tried something different with them this time and wore them with statement necklaces, and my adorable little blush Rebecca Minkoff small Darren bag.

Why I wore it:

I'm always surprised to see I haven't hit 30 wears with this dress yet! I bought it back in 2012 and it's been such a staple in my wardrobe, I would have thought it was one of my most worn pieces! It definitely feels like I've should have worn it more than 19 times...

This is the first time I've worn this blush bag with the dress and I really liked the combination of the navy Ikat print with the blush bag. I felt it needed a belt so picked this one to wear, even though the belt has gold hardware and the bag is silver, it was the best I had at the time and I didn't dislike the mixed metals with the belt, bag, shoes and statement necklace as much as I thought I would when I wore it!

I've been using just 3 belts for quite a while now, this one included. I boxed up the rest of my belts while pregnant and house hunting years ago and they have only just been found (we moved into our new house months ago, ha!). Despite having to throw a few of them out as pleather being stored in the Queensland heat and humidity never ends well, it flakes and peels.... I'm excited I'll have more belt choice again!

Why I wore it:

Another simple printed dress outfit for a busy day at work. I like the ease of this dress, just throw on and go. This time around I decided to add a bit more colour to the blush and white print with the big neon crystal statement necklace. I really liked the unexpected combination, and as always happens whenever I wear this necklace, it got a lot of compliments!

The blush Rebecca Minkoff small Darren bag matches the pink in the fern print of the dress nicely, and the classic black Walnut Melbourne ballet flats match the black base of the dress. A matchy-matchy outfit that made me happy!

Wearing Tops Over Maxi Dresses With Ankle Boots: Casual and Dressy

Following a simple outfit formula and adding a top over a printed maxi dress to make it a skirt, but creating two very different looks!

What I wore:

Jacket: Warehouse cropped zip detail jacket
Tank: thrifted Valleygirl metallic sequin tank (gift from my mum)
Dress: Jeanswest grey snake print maxi dress (worn as skirt)

Bag: Chanel vintage quilted lambskin flap

Why I wore it:

Sequins and snake print together is not my normal style of dressing, but I pushed myself out of my comfort zone a little with this outfit for the Brisbane Fashion Runway show. The theme was a touch of glitter and I think this tank nailed it perfectly!

I knew I wanted to wear this snake print maxi dress but couldn't find a sequin topper, so thrifted a few possible necklace options at the opshops after spending a few weeks fruitlessly hunting for something with sequins. None of the necklaces felt quiet right with the dress but luckily my mum found this sequin tank for just $2 in her local opshop and it was exactly what I needed! Big thanks to my mum!

Apart from the $2 tank, everything else was already in my wardrobe. The cropped black blazer is one I won in a blog giveaway years ago and considered donating it a few times. Glad I kept it as it was a much cooler day than expected with the rain all morning. Thankfully it cleared up in the afternoon for the show.

Had a really fun time despite worrying I'd feel out of place, never been to an official fashion show before but Emily and Mel were great people to go with. Big thanks to Emily for the photos too!

Why I wore it:

This was the morning after the night before! 😂 Needed something simple and comfortable after a few drinks before, during and after the fashion show! Mum life means 3 drinks in one night and staying up past my normal bed time is far too much, ha! Stuck with the same outfit formula but a lot more casual.  I love wearing this high-low maxi dress as a skirt and the grey tee was the perfect topper with it.

The black straw bag and ankle boots were simple matching accessories that made getting ready in the morning a bit easier! We made it to church but did spend the rest of the day afterwards at home, trying to relax as much as you can with two little boys!

For today's Weekday Wear Linkup, I'm sharing two blue printed dresses I wore to the office recently with some silver giant hardware Balenciaga bags.

Why I wore it:

This floral swing dress is such a great piece to wear on a hot day, but this is the first time I've worn it to the office. With the longer 3/4 lengths sleeves and the long knee length hem, I think it's a good option for a business casual office like mine. The swing style makes it a little more casual so I added a blazer on top to make it a bit more professional. Kept the accessories simple too with the black ballet flats and the black Balenciaga part time bag.

The floral crystal necklace is one I picked up in my opshop haul as a possible accessory to wear to a glitter themed fashion show. I ended up wearing a thrifted glitter tank instead and so have just being waiting for an opportunity to wear this necklace. Delicate crystals seem a bit over the top for the playground and pointy edges aren't the best around the boys. The office was the perfect place to wear it and it goes with the floral print on the dress nicely I thought.

I'd actually planned another outfit to wear on this day, but the heatwave temperatures made me change my mind and so I wore this simple sheath dress instead.  It was a foggy start to the morning as you can see behind me, but warmed up to a super hot spring day. Accessorised with another thrifted necklace, this big gunmetal one was another option I bought at the opshop for the event I didn't end up using, but it also looks great worn to the office.

The purple Balenciaga work bag is often worn with this dress, I like blue and purple together!
