What I wore:
Jacket: Kmart striped maxi cardigan
Scarf: Marc by Marc Jacobs mauve square scarf
Dress: Asos grey skater dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
Why I wore it:
Wore this to visit Edinburgh Zoo with the kids. I expected it to be a little chilly as it's on a hill, but even with all the layers (dress, duster, scarf, trench, fleece lined tights) it was still a really cold day. Pushing the stroller up all of the hills helped keep me warm! 😂 It's not the easiest zoo to take a stroller too!I was glad I had my Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere bag as it's waterproof at it did sprinkle with rain a few times.
Last worn: camel trench, purple scarf, striped duster, grey skater dress, black ankle boots, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere.
Other ways to wear: camel trench in the office, purple scarf and jeans, striped duster for a flight, grey skater dress with red accessories, black ankle boots worn 30 ways, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: striped duster in second trimester, grey skater dress in second trimester, black ankle boots in second trimester, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere in third trimester.

What's In My Bag: Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere
What I wore:
Jacket: Barkins beige trench coat
Scarf: Mickey Mouse printed scarf from Disneyland Paris (new purchase)
Dress: Jeanswest Aztec print dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
Why I wore it:
Wore this for an emotional day, our last full day in Edinburgh as we prepared to say goodbye. It was a cold and wet day so we cancelled our plans to go to the museum and had a long relaxing brunch before browsing a couple of stores for last minute treats to bring home and then starting to pack before our final dinner. We ate at the Melville Inn and the meals were so good! Highly recommend!I wasn't sure about the Ikat print of the dress with the Mickey Mouse print on the scarf, although the colours are similar the prints are quite different, but I just wanted to wear my new scarf so wore it anyway! With my big trench coat it kept me cosy as we hopped in and out of the car.
Last worn: camel trench (above), pink tassel earrings, Ikat print dress, ankle boots (above), Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere (above). First time I've shared the Mickey Mouse scarf on the blog.
Other ways to wear: camel trench and printed skirt, Ikat print dress and blazer, ankle boots and skinny jeans, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere and maxi dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: Ikat print dress in third trimester, ankle boots in second trimester, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere in second trimester.
I love a trench coat. I had a beige one but it was a bit huge on me (London Fog - I got it large so I could wear sweaters under it but it really wasn't very cute on....functional though) and I just haven't replaced it. I'd really like one of the lightweight ones since I have a few warm, cozy coats already. I like the way you've styled yours. I do think the Mickey scarf goes fine with the Ikat print since you have the trench acting as kind of a separator. I'm not sure about it without the trench, though....I couldn't really tell. I love your "what's in my bag" video - LOL! The water bottle! No wonder you don't have a problem changing out purses so often - you have everything nicely compartmentalized in pouches and I think that's the only way to do it. I really need to organize mine. At any rate, I loved both of your looks and you look gorgeous (that purple scarf is a wonderful color on you)!

I hope you can replace your trench soon - this is such a staple for me! :) And yes, I have to keep things organised in my bags so I can swap them out more often! :)
DeleteYou are a layering pro! I can struggle with it as I'm quite petite - all too easy to end up looking swamped! x
ReplyDeleteKate Louise Blogs
haha yes, I feel that struggle as a fellow petite lady!
DeleteWhen an outfit formula works, it works:) Love that trench coat. Such a great travel piece for sure and you look great. And that ikat dress went well with the scarf!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday:)
I see your capsule wardrobe for Europe worked absolutely well and I love both looks! Nevertheless I can understand that it was cold despite the layers as I know the temperatures in Europe :)

Purple is such a great color for you! It is crazy to see we are in opposite seasons. We are suppose to have temps that "feel like" 110 in the shade this weekend..insert big eye roll.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe how cold spring was in the UK! Definitely warmer in winter here in Brisbane!
DeleteLove these layered looks, and that's such a great trench coat! I love the camel colour and it's a perfect piece for traveling

So many fun layers. When is was in Edinburg I have 2 coats on. Plus a sweatshirt and jeans.

Yes you definitely need to layer there!
DeleteYou layered your outfits perfectly. I love how you mix and matched your pieces to come up with all these outfits.

I agree that a trench is a great piece for colder weather. I love how well it works with almost everything.
ReplyDeleteI think your outfits are lovely. The last day of a trip is always hard, but it's great that you had a good time.

I love wearing my trench coat for autumn and spring - I really wouldn't reach for it in winter, as mine is more of a lightweight material and definitely not warm enough for cold days.
ReplyDeleteThis one is a thick ribbed cotton and it's fully lined so very cosy! Or it's cosy in Australia anyway, haha!
DeleteAs much as I love summer floral dresses, I love layering in cold weathers. A trench coat is my favorite and works well with everything. You are looking gorgeous. I love your scarf too. :-)

Such a pretty combo for the season dear! Love the cute contrast of the scarf too.

I really like both outfits. I like how you layered your outfit for the visit to the zoo. The purple scarf is very pretty! That LV bag looks so chic and it's great that it is waterproof. The second outfit is very stylish as well. I like the mix of prints with the scarf and the dress. Great outfit! Have a lovely weekend dear.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a nice trench coat! I'd love to get a classic trench because it is so timeless, but I want to save for a designer version because I know it will have years of wear! It's one of my wish list items and has been for years! I love the style of yours!
ReplyDeleteThis one was a sale buy, under $50 and it's lasted easily 10 years! I am glad I bought it!
DeleteAs always, I'm loving your outfits. The bright purple really makes them pop!
ReplyDeleteLove the post, and hope you have a great weekend :)

Very stylish layered looks, Mica! I love both of your scarves. The first one is such a great colour and the second one is such a fun print! XXX
ReplyDeleteI love how cozy you look with both outfits! Everything paired so well together, especially with the speedy! I love the Mickey Mouse scarf. I should look into them the next time I go to Disney (or at least closer to the winter).
