I did layer them up just a little with ankle boots and denim jackets for the colder winter mornings and evenings too, as it was August (the end of winter in Brisbane) when I wore these.
What I wore:
Earrings: Kmart navy tassel earrings
Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Dress: Zaful floral print ruffle hem dress in ginger
Shoes: Acne pistol boots in "skin"
Bag: Balenciaga envelope clutch in 2012 mangue with giant 12 RGGH
Why I wore it:
After a busy day, I quickly got changed into something a little more fun for drinks with some other Brisbane Instagrammers. I'll take any excuse to wear this pretty mustard floral swing dress, it works so well for ankle boots and was perfect for dinner and drinks by the river. I thought that the mustard Balenciaga envelope clutch would be a nice bit of matchy-matchy for it too, although I did regret that decision later in the night! I managed to get my deliciously greasy burger all over the delicate Balenciaga leather, and despite borrowing a baby wipe from an amused and confused dad we saw nearby, the grease didn't come off. I tried cleaning it when I got home later that night, and the day after, but it's going to permanently have a mark :(Definitely will be a fun story to tell every time I use this clutch though. I am a little upset as the clutch was pristine and so well cared for, and so far out of my budget now, but no bag stays pristine forever!
Last worn: tassel earrings, denim jacket, navy and gold bead necklace, mustard floral dress, Acne Pistol boots, Balenciaga envelope clutch.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and maxi skirt, mustard floral dress in summer, Acne Pistol boots and maxi dress, Balenciaga envelope clutch and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: Acne Pistol boots in third trimester, Balenciaga envelope clutch in thrid trimester.
Bags I'd Borrow From Other YouTubers:
What I wore:
Necklace: Jeanswest Taryn turquoise tassel bead necklace
Dress: Shein navy flower print flowy dress (c/o)
Shoes: Atmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold
Why I wore it:
Another floral dress with an adorable mustard bag. Luckily, I managed to keep this mustard Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag clean, even after the boys had a chocolate cookie at church and when I had our latest fluffy family member join me for photos! She is very interested in my photo taking, unlike our Shih Tzu Cooper who is over it after watching me snap pics for years 😂
While I haven't worn this navy floral swing dress with the denim biker jacket and tan ankle boots before, I have worn it with other denim jackets and ankle boots in my wardrobe and I really like this combination! The mustard bag was a fun pop of colour with the navy and this was an easy outfit for church.
Last worn: denim jacket (above), tassel necklace, navy floral dress, tan ankle boots, mustard Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and stripes, navy floral dress and glitter shoes, tan ankle boots and skinny jeans, mustard Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag worn 30 ways.
Floral Swing Dresses Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A floral swing dress might be a bit predictable for spring, but it's such a cute outfit! On a colder day or night a denim jacket and ankle boots can help keep you warmer, and this works in autumn too. Adding a fun bright bag like these mustard yellow ones to your floral dress is a great idea to add even more spring-like colour.Linking up with Mutton Style, On Mondays We Link Up.
Your mustard dress is SO cute, Mica!
ReplyDeleteThese two are the perfect match, yellow is basically in exactly the same shade, and the floral print of the dress is just so beautiful <3
ReplyDeleteLackaDaisy
So sorry what happened with your bag! But at least you know now without doubt anytimes this bag is yours! Love the mustard dress, I understand why you love it so much and also the second look is very cute - as well as your latest fluffy family member!

Great dresses:) You can never go wrong with florals for spring:D And sorry to hear about the stain on the bag:( Have you contacted a leather expert? Someone might be able to take it out.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, have a lovely weekend:)
I've tried all the usual tricks the experts recommend so short of paying hundreds to send it away there's nothing I can do.
DeleteYou look fabulous in these dresses!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.

Oh I love this dress style on you! Both of them are so cute! And that's so sad about your clutch!! Hopefully it will fade over time or maybe you can find an expert like Emmylou suggested ^^. But like you said...nothign stays pristine forever unless we leave it in the box, and that's no fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I've tried all the usual tricks the experts recommend so short of paying hundreds to send it away there's nothing I can do.

That's such a bummer about your clutch. Have you googled other options?? Then again I bet you're the only one that notices it.

Mustrad is one of my favorite colors and I love your dress and bag so much. Also I really like how you combine it with denim jacket. You look stunning in this outfit.

You look so fabulous in that floral mustard dress - that is one of my favourites of yours, Mica. Try putting some corn starch on the oil stain on your bag - just tap it on there and leave it. It will pull up some of the oil out of the leather and won't damage it (I've used this on leather skirts and shoes). That's sad that your bag got damaged, but it happens, and it's part of the life of a special piece. It's like wrinkles on our faces - we earned it! That looks like a fun gathering!
ReplyDeleteLove your second outfit too - the little bits of turquoise blue really stand out to me.
Have a great weekend, my dear!
Thanks Sheila! I linked to the pics on twitter - I did try the cornstarch trick and it didn't work sadly. It's okay, it's at least faded :)
DeleteI love that mustard swing bag and it's so perfect with that bag. So sorry to hear about the stain. Perhaps there is still a way to salvage it or hide the stain somehow? Such a shame as it is a beautiful bag, but you're right, no bag stays pristine forever. At the end of the day, things are just things and anything worn can't remain perfect forever. We should think of it as you do to.
ReplyDeleteI also love the second styling, and that yellow RB bag is so pretty too. The jacket and the dress are great together too. You look very pretty. I love the new fluffy addition to your family. She is a cutie!
It's true, I still love the bag even with the stain! :)
DeleteYou look so great. Love both of your styles.
ReplyDeleteThere's that cute floral dress! It seriously is one of my favorites!

DeleteTwo outfit I'm loving very much, Mica! You know I love my florals, whatever the season ;-) And I'm a sucker for black floral dresses, too. Nevertheless, my favourite must be your first outfit, with the flouncy mustard dress, as both its colour and print are absolutely delightful. So sorry to hear you spoiled that Balanciaga bag :-( xxx
ReplyDeleteI love mustard shade❤
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to wear my darker florals as we are coming into fall and winter. That's part of why I love florals, they can be worn all year round! Love you cute yellow swing dress and the yellow bag. Great outfits, Mica! Hope you are having a great weekend. My in-laws are in town and we are celebrating my Grandson's birthday. - Amy

happy birthday to your grandson!
DeleteI love the matching mustard combo - shame about the bag but those marks make it have character (and make memories!) I'm so accident prone and such a messy eater, that's why nearly all my handbags are black!
ReplyDeleteYes it's certainly got more character now, haha!
DeleteI love the pretty floral dress and the matching handbag. You have such pretty outfits that all look great on you! Thanks for the lovely visit to my blog. Hope you have a nice weekend.

Both dresses are so fun and stylish as are your mustard bags. I'm so envious of how great yellow looks on you as it's a color that I can't wear because I swear it makes me look sickly.

I've only recently started wearing ankle type boots with dresses and it's like HELLO, why have I never done this before?! Your outfits look lovely, the perfect combination, I LOVE that mustardy dress, the colour is perfect for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your bag though, what a shame. Perhaps try some corn starch like another commenter said, or even some talc - anything that might absorb the oil should help! Lisa x
ReplyDeleteThanks, I linked to the tweet to show that I've tried all those tricks, it will always have a stain!
DeleteCute outfits! Thank you for visiting my blog! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you like the mustard dress so much. It really is a gorgeous dress! I'm glad you had a good time.
