Weekday Wear Linkup: Neutral Dresses, Colourful Scarves and Mulberry Heritage Bayswater Bag

Simple winter workwear for today's Weekday Wear Linkup, adding colour to neutral dresses for the office with bright animal print scarves.

What I wore:

ScarfSupre neon pink leopard print scarf
EarringsJeanswest Evy dangly earring
DressJeanswest tucked ponte black dress
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque flats in camel
BagMulberry Bayswater in Oak NVT leather (cheaper second hand)

Why I wore it:

This scarf is such a fun statement piece, a classic little black dress is the perfect outfit to let it shine! An impulse $5 sale buy 5 years ago, it's only gotten 8 wears so far but I love it every time I wear it!

The fit and flare dress is sleeveless, so I did my trick of wearing a tee underneath it, but it was much too cold to consider going coat-less for the photos in the morning! You're only missing a plain grey long sleeved tee I wore under the dress. With the bright scarf being such a focal piece I kept everything else in my outfit neutral with the tan ballet flats and Mulberry Bayswater bag.

Last worn: camel trench, neon leopard print scarf, dangly earrings, fit and flare dress, Marc Jacobs ballet flats, Mulberry Bayswater.

Other ways to wearcamel trench and skinny jeans, neon leopard print scarf with grey, fit and flare dress in spring, Marc Jacobs ballet flats and wrap dress, Mulberry Bayswater and pencil skirt.

Perfect for pregnancycamel trench in first trimester, neon leopard print scarf in first trimester, fit and flare dress in second trimester, Marc Jacobs ballet flats in third trimester, Mulberry Bayswater in third trimester.

BagMulberry Bayswater in Oak NVT leather (cheaper second hand)

Why I wore it:

A different kind of animal print scarf, featuring the actual animal! This adorably cute scarf was a Christmas gift from my sister and I love the way the red pops against the grey skater dress and the navy macintosh jacket. It's not the first time I've worn this dress with a red scarf, I really like the combination!

As with the outfit above, I let the scarf make the statement and paired the outfit with my classic, go with anything little black ballet flats and Mulberry oak Bayswater tote bag.

Last worn: navy macintosh, sheep print scarf, grey skater dress, black ballet flats, Mulberry bayswater (above).

Other ways to wearnavy macintosh, sheep print scarf and printed dress, grey skater dress in Disneyland, black ballet flats and jeans, Mulberry bayswater and chambray dress.

Perfect for pregnancygrey skater dress in second trimester, black ballet flats in third trimester, Mulberry Bayswater in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

A brightly coloured scarf is a great way to accessorise a classic dress. Changing the scarf makes a little black (or grey!) dress look new each time you wear it. It's a fun and affordable way to accessorise in winter.

  43. I love scarves! They're such an easy way to add color to an outfit and sometimes they're even the centerpiece. Both of yours are gorgeous, though I have to say I just love the "animal print" one. I also love that you extend your summer wardrobe into the winter with the addition of a long-sleeved T-shirt. I'm going to try using that trick with more of my wardrobe (I do it with my sleeveless sweaters - talk about a stupid piece of clothing!). That bag is wonderful (as usual) and looks like it'll hold almost anything. My hubby keeps trying to get me to downsize mine and then in a restaurant or wherever, he'll ask me to put something of his into my purse. I told him he can't have it both ways :P I hope you're staying warm and having a good week so far.

I really like your fun statement scarf as well. The second outfit is pretty cute as well. That red scarf is wonderful. The grey dress is lovely as well. You look fabulous in both of these dresses, these are such lovely autumn/winter outfits.
