Weekday Wear Link Up: Striped Tees and Maxi Skirts With Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Bag

Wearing more wardrobe staples for today's Weekday Wear Link Up, with striped tees and maxi skirts. Easy outfits to pull together for busy days.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag with ochre maxi skirt | away from blue

EarringsKmart blue fringe crescent statement earrings
Necklace: thrifted pearl and heart charm long necklace
TeeAtmos&Here oversized stripe tee
Skirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

This was a very busy day! After the school run I had some errands to run and had to take Cooper to the groomers before catching up with a friend, doing the school pickup, taking the kids for a haircut too and then sports in the evening. Was a lot of running around so I wanted to be comfortable, this maxi skirt and striped tee combination as perfect for that. The neutral grey and white tee is a bit plain on it's own but the ochre skirt adds a nice touch of colour with the outfit and I tried to dress it up a little with some accessories for catching up with my friend.

What I wore:

Shoes: Kmart white chunky platform sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Wasn't too sure about this combination. I've worn this red printed maxi skirt with striped tees before, but I didn't like this as much as I have the other times I tried it. It was a comfortable and practical outfit for another busy mum day though, with helping in my son's class in the morning, a trip to the library and playground with the little one and more sports in the evening after school pickup.

Wore the same Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC bag again. I like blue and red together and it seemed like a good choice with the navy stripes of the tee.

Last worn: navy stripe tee, navy and gold statement necklace, red printed maxi skirt, chunky platform sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff blue and gold mini mac bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy stripe tee and shorts, red printed maxi skirt and mustard knit, chunky platform sneakers and culottes, Rebecca Minkoff blue and gold mini mac bag and floral dress.

Perfect for pregnancynavy stripe tee in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Striped tees are such a staple and while they look good with denim I like to wear mine with another much loved wardrobe basic, a maxi skirt! Great for a warm day and works even with printed skirts.

What I Bought In March And How I've Worn It: Rebecca Minkoff Love Too

Well... I bought another bag 😂 Despite saying I didn't need or want anything this year I've managed to make an impulse buy or two every month. But this one was definitely worth it!

What I Bought:

Why I Bought It:

We have an internal recognition program at work and there's a little monetary reward associated with it. Which I was lucky to get, and immediately put towards getting this bag! I hadn't used my Christmas bonus gift card yet either which covered the rest.

I'd checked out the Rebecca Minkoff sale and gotten as far as adding this bag to my cart before I realised that even with the extra % off, the shipping cost and exchange rate didn't make it that much of a bargain. It's a style I'd been wanting to try for a while but didn't want to pay the $400+ it retails for here either.

When I later browsed eBay with that work reward in mind I stumbled across the exact same bag I'd been eyeing on the Rebecca Minkoff site. At $100 cheaper than I'd seen in the Rebecca Minkoff sale! Of course I had to buy it!

As you can see in the video it didn't quite go as smoothly as I'd hoped but the handful of times I've used this bag it's been issue free and I've really enjoyed wearing it!

How I've Worn It:

awayfromblue blog 3 ways to wear teal rebecca minkoff love too croc crossbody bag

The seller on eBay was super sweet and shipped this bag so quickly, it arrived much sooner than I expected. Which let me wear it for the first time on my return to the office. We had a celebratory lunch planned related to the work I mentioned above. It was so good to catch up with my colleagues and empty out all the food I'd left behind in the office before lockdown last year! It was nice being back, although throwing out all that expired food that hadn't been touched in over a year was not a nice experience!

Weekday Wear Link Up: Tiered Kmart Dresses and Clutch Bags

Enjoying the last warm days of summer back in February when I wore these, wearing some Kmart tiered dresses with some clutch bags. One a more dressy outfit for the Lunar New year, the other a more casual one for a day with my sister.

What I wore:

Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress with blue resin necklace and rebecca minkoff champagne gold leo envelope clutch | awayfromblue

floral maxi dress with Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold | awayfromtheblue

Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress with rebecca minkoff champagne gold leo envelope clutch | awayfromblue Instagram

Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Necklace: Polka Luka Paradiso triple strand resin necklace transparent cobalt
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
BagRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold

Why I wore it:

While it's traditional to wear something new and add a bit of red and gold for Lunar new year, I'd worn all my new clothes I got for Christmas or bought in January, so I went with all old favourite, this Kmart coral coloured floral print tiered maxi dress. Trying to get it closer to 30 wears, it's at 27 already. Not bad for a $25 Kmart buy, already under $1 a wear. While the dress wasn't new, the necklace was! I got it from my bestie for Christmas and I knew I wanted to wear it with this dress, it's such a good pairing for its first wear.

I wore my rose gold sandals and my champagne Rebecca Minkoff Leo clutch for a little touch of gold with my outfit - not that I really needed the clutch to go to the in laws for our traditional banquet, as we had the kids things in their usual backpack and I could have put my stuff in there. It just helped the outfit feel a little more dressed up to have a clutch. The red nail polish is the only touch of red in my outfit.

What I wore:

Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia with marc by marc jacobs convertible clutch worn crossbody and sneakers | away from blue

Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet | away from the blue

NecklaceHouse of Harlow 5 station necklace in black and silver
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoes: Kmart white chunky platform sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge black and white bangle
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet with Rebecca Minkoff Crystal Star Shoulder Guitar strap

Why I wore it:

This was a much more casual day so I tried to dress down this fuchsia pink Kmart tiered midi dress with my chunky Kmart platform sneakers I'd got the weekend before. Was also a good excuse to wear my newly thrifted purple bag, this Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch in electric violet. I got so lucky to find an authentic designer bag at the opshop, really pleased! Had to wear my old Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel bracelet too, a little bit of brand matchy-matchy although it matches the black and white in the Rebecca Minkoff embellished shoulder strap too.

I really liked the tiered fuchsia midi dress with the purple bag, and this was just the right thing for a busy day - I was parent helper at my son's school in the morning, then afterwards I went to the library and playground with my sister and the little one before lunch and picking up my son from school in the afternoon before sports in the evening. It was such a hot day so this loose oversized dress was perfect. Not so perfect for going down the slides with my son but it was hilarious to try!

Last worn: Kmart tiered midi dress, House of Harlow necklace, Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel bracelet, Kmart chunky platform sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff guitar strap, Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch.

Other ways to wearKmart tiered midi dress and teal bag, Kmart chunky platform sneakers and culottes, Rebecca Minkoff guitar strap on love bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch and shorts.

How You Can Wear It:

A tiered dress is great for a hot day - and easy to dress up or down! With a pretty clutch bag for a family dinner, or add a strap to the clutch to wear it crossbody and put on some sneakers to make a tiered dress more casual.

Olive And Black Striped Tanks and Shorts Outfits With LV Speedy Bandouliere

Easy striped tank and shorts outfits with black and olive together, and my Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere bag. While I wore these outfits back in February while it was still summer, there was some cooler autumn weather so I layered one outfit up a little with a light jacket.

What I wore:

black and olive autumn outfit with speedy bandouliere bag | awayfromtheblue

Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere, black jacket | away from the blue

Jacket: thrifted black Emerson drawstring waist utility jacket
Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
TopAtmos & Here Oregon stripe tank
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

This black and white striped tank is one you're going to see on repeat lately - it's so close to 30 wears and I'm eager to get it there so I can put together a post on it in the next couple of months. It really is such a wardrobe staple. The black and white stripes look good with the olive shorts.

It was a strange kind of day, more rain but not a lot of humidity - a clear sign of autumn weather starting to arrive. I picked the Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere to wear as it's waterproof, and added the jacket on top of my light tank and shorts outfit as it was cooler than I expected when we headed off for the school run in the morning. After the school run the little one and I headed out to look for decorations for his upcoming birthday - he'd picked a theme at last but we were struggling a little because despite visiting four different stores there was very little to pick from overall in the party sections. I guess it doesn't make sense to have a lot of stock if the restrictions can change at the last minute for parties! Determined to let him have a big party this year though after we had to cancel at the last moment a year ago with the restrictions.

By school pickup the humidity had returned too and our jackets were unnecessary, but I still liked this outfit. The shoes were good for all the running around we did between different stores, but I swapped to my my supportive New Balance sneakers for school pickup as my knee was starting to complain from all the walking and driving.

What I wore:

olive and grey striped tank with black bermuda denim shorts, louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere | awayfromtheblue

black denim shorts, Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere | away from the blue

Necklace: Lovisa gold filigree heart pendant

Shorts: Jeanswest Heather Bermuda short in black
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

Summer weather had returned on this day, so no extra layers were needed! Again I stuck with black and olive, with this old grey and olive striped tank that was definitely overdue a wear and my black Bermuda denim shorts. An easy and comfortable outfit for a day out shopping with the kids and my mum - I did pretty well, picking up a new pair of shoes, as did my mum! I wore my supportive New Balance sneakers as I felt they went well with the outfit and they also help my weak knee. I'd been rushing around a lot that week and was starting to feel more pain, these shoes are so helpful at reducing the pain. I stuck with the Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere as I'd worn it the day before, above, and it meant I didn't have to swap out my bag as it went with this outfit too.

Wanted to dress it up just a little so added some rose gold accessories with the filigree heart necklace and the heart stud earrings. Was a really nice day out!

How You Can Wear It:

Olive and black are great neutrals together. To prevent a neutral outfit feeling too bland, try introduce a bit of a print - stripes are my go-to, as you can see here.

Colourful Tees, Bright Kimonos and Bermuda Shorts: Weekday Wear Link Up

Wearing some bright Cotton On "The One" v-neck tees with Bermuda shorts, floral duster kimonos and my periwinkle Chloe Paraty bag for this week's Weekday Wear Link Up.

What I wore:

baby blue and white bermuda shorts tee outfit with green floral duster kimono | awayfromblue

Chloe periwinkle small Paraty worn on arm | awayfromtheblue

awayfromtheblue Instagram | blue tee with green floral duster kimono and white bermuda shorts

Jacket: Jeanswest Delilah Long Line Kimono in Green Floral
NecklaceRoie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
TeeCotton On The One fitted v tee in washed poolside blue (new purchase)
Shorts: thrifted Emerson white Bermuda shorts
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs waxed leather cream howlite beaded wrap bracelet
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

This was a bit of a busy day! I regretted layering up with this kimono for the walk to school as it was a really hot day! After school drop off though we headed out to a bayside park to spend the morning and I much appreciated the cool breeze off the water, the heat and humidity was a little more bearable then! After my son's doctor appointment in the afternoon we ended up just playing at home in the aircon keeping cool.

Although this pastel blue tee isn't quite the same shade as the Chloe Paraty bag I thought the two shades of blue worked well together, and I really like the green floral duster with them, such a nice layering piece even if it felt a bit too much for the hot morning. I liked the white Bermuda shorts with them too, a nice neutral to balance out all the colour, but the shorts did get a little dirty at the playground - need to remember there are not playground friendly shorts when your son has been running around in bark all day and accidentally kicks you as you push him on the swing, haha! Thankfully all the dirt came off in the washing machine!

What I wore:

denim bermuda shorts and Chloe periwinkle small Paraty | away from the blue

awayfromblue Instagram | orang ena dbay bermuda denim shorts and tee outfit with chloe small periwinkle paraty bag

Jacket: Jeanswest Melanie floral kimono
Necklace
: Uniquely Made with Love Sea Change necklace
Tee:  Cotton On The One fitted v tee in washed summer mango
Shorts: Jeanswest Trinity Bermuda denim shorts
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

Although there's no orange in the floral print of this navy duster, I thought the orange tee would go really nicely with it. I like the touch of colour this tee adds to an outfit. And unlike the day above, I appreciated the duster kimono on this day! It was a busy day, working from home after the school drop off and taking my son to an appointment in the afternoon. This colour combination with the tropical floral print and the orange tee was really colourful and cheerful and a nice mood booster for a busy day.

Again I wore my Chloe periwinkle small Paraty bag, it's been a go-to bag lately as I love the colour and it's the right size for everything I need to carry day to day, including water bottles for us all. I just wore it on this day as again I needed something quick and easy to get dressed with, and it already had all my things inside it from the previous time I wore it!

Last worn: tropical floral print duster kimono, beaded necklace, orange v-neck tee, Bermuda denim shorts, Adidas Superstar, Chloe small Paraty (above).

Other ways to weartropical floral print duster kimono and dress, orange v-neck tee and stripes, Bermuda denim shorts and scarf, Adidas Superstar and midi dress, Chloe small Paraty and maxi.

How You Can Wear It:

Jeans and a tee is a staple outfit for mum life! To change it up a little you can try a bright tee and introduce more colour and print with a duster kimono like these floral ones.

Pink and Purple Tee Outfits With Navy Printed Culottes

Pink and purple shorts and tee outfits with some bright and colourful crossbody bags. Because I love wearing bright bags, even when I'm also wearing a colourful outfit! I love these navy culottes too and wore them in the previous post, they have been summer staples.

What I wore:

pink purple navy outfit with blue printed culotte shorts lilac v-neck tee and magenta bag | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta with navy printed culottes | awayfromblue

NecklaceZuriCollections blue polymer clay necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Shorts: Kmart culotte short in navy lemon print
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta

Why I wore it:

Wore this to be extra colourful on a pretty standard school run and work from home day. I had to log out a little early to take my son to an appointment in the afternoon too. With a lot of driving and running around, the Adidas superstar shoes were so comfortable!

The lemon myrtle print on these Kmart navy culottes has yellow, pastel pink and blue in the print, but no purple. I still thought that this lilac tee would be a good pairing with them, it goes so well even if it doesn't match the print at all.

The magenta Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag was a fun pop of colour with the navy and lilac too - and since I didn't have to carry much in my bag on this day it was the perfect size. Just enough space for phone, wallet, keys and hand sanitiser.

What I wore:

bright pink frill sleeve tee with navy stripe culotte shorts and chunky sneakers crossbody MbMJ bag | awayfromblue

thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Ruby frill sleeve tee in fuchsia
Shorts: Jeanswest Valerie yarn dye stripe short in navy and white
ShoesKmart white chunky platform sneakers (new purchase)
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet (new purchase) with Rebecca Minkoff Crystal Star Shoulder Guitar strap

Why I wore it:

This was a fun Sunday! We headed out to the playground a little early to try beat the heat and chilled in the aircon at home afterwards. This fuchsia pink frill sleeve tee hasn't been worn in a while and I was curious to see how my newly thrifted Marc By Marc Jacobs bag would look with it - it's a very purple toned magenta but it looks almost burgundy against the fuchsia tee! I liked the combination though and I went with the neutral navy striped culottes to balance out the bright bag and tee together. The Kmart chunky platform sneakers were another recent purchase too, at just $2!

This Marc By Marc Jacobs convertible clutch is supposed to be a shoulder bag - it comes with a shoulder strap, but being a mum and preferring crossbody bags I knew it would be great for that too. I had this Rebecca Minkoff embellished guitar strap that hadn't been used for a while and it makes the bag a perfect length to wear crossbody! Even if the bright tee and the embellished strap felt a little overdressed for a quiet Sunday at the playground, I still thought it was a fun outfit.

How You Can Wear It:

Pink, purple and navy are a great combination of colours to wear together! You can go really small by adding a colourful bag to your outfit for a third colour in the combo, or bigger and bolder with a pink or purple block colour tee and navy shorts.

Orange Tees, Navy Culottes And Converse

Two orange and blue shorts and tee outfits that look a lot brighter on my computer screen than they felt in person! No matter the shade, I love orange and navy together.

What I wore:

marigold orange tee with navy printed culotte shorts chloe paraty bag | awayfromblue summer mum outfit

navy printed culotte shorts with Chloe periwinkle small Paraty | awayfromtheblue

awayfromtheblue Instagram | marigold orange tee with kmart navy printed culottes chloe paraty bag

NecklaceZuriCollections blue polymer clay necklace
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in marigold
Shorts: Kmart culotte short in navy lemon print
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

This was a particularly hot and humid day so shorts and a tee was perfect - especially a nice soft oversized tee like this marigold one and light and soft printed navy culotte shorts like these. My parents came over and gave me a new bike! They got it for free from their neighbour who didn't want it any more and both worked on it to get it cleaned up and safe for me to bike on. It's a gorgeous bike and I'm so excited! Looks just like this, the basket easily fits my bag and everyone's water bottles. Of course we had to go out for a bike ride right away for me to test it out. It wasn't the smoothest ride - the bike itself is super comfortable and a dream to ride - but the kids stop a lot and I spent most of the time waiting for them or jumping off to help them pedal along or up a hill, haha! It's nice to actually be able to bike along with them too though instead of just walking behind them on their bike rides. Looking forward to biking around more and using it to build up the strength in my knee. Haven't had a bike in years so I'm thrilled with this one.

I liked the bright orange tee with the navy printed culottes. Even though there is no orange in the print on the shorts, the periwinkle blue Chloe Paraty bag and the blue Converse Chucks were enough extra matchy-matchy colour to make me happy. Great outfit and day!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted blue multi stand long beaded necklace
TeeCotton On The One fitted v tee in washed summer mango
Shorts: Jeanswest Valerie yarn dye stripe short in navy and white
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Why I wore it:

Shorts and tee are of course a mum staple and is the perfect outfit for the school run, working from home, and with the navy striped culotte shorts is dressy enough for an afternoon appointment for my son. I knew when I saw this pretty washed mango tee on the Cotton On site that I'd be wearing it with these navy culottes! I didn't know that my camera would make it look almost neon, haha! As you can see in the Insta pic it's more of a subdued orange - "washed summer mango" is both the official colour name and the perfect way to describe the colour!

I wasn't 100% happy with the necklace choice - I do like the navy with the orange tee but I think the necklace was a bit out of place with the tie on the navy striped culottes and I could have gone with something shorter. Being in a rush to get everyone up and ready and out for the school run before getting back home to log onto work though I went with this first choice necklace. Wasn't too bad, just not a combo I'd repeat again.

I did like the neutral grey Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag with this outfit though - it really does go with everything. Even though I didn't need to carry too much on this day and could have gone with a smaller bag, it was easier using this one I'd already used previously and still not transferred my things out of.

Last worn: beaded necklace, navy stripe culottes, Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff grey MAM. First time I've worn the tee as it was a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearnavy stripe culottes and white tee, Converse and maxi skirtRebecca Minkoff grey MAM worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyRebecca Minkoff grey MAM bag in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Navy and orange are an easy combo - no matter what shade of orange! If you have an orange tee, try it with a pair of navy shorts. Printed culottes can be great for adding even more colour to your outfit too.
