What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted blue multi stand long beaded necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Elissa leaf print tank
Skirt: Jeanswest zip detail ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
Why I wore it:
Repeating a lot of faves in this outfit! The black jersey blazer and pencil skirt together make the outfit seem a little more formal and suit-like (but much more comfortable, being jersey!). The leaf print tank is one of those pieces I can wear for work and for days with the kids, it's a great "wear anywhere" piece. I've worn it with the blue necklace before but for something a little different this time I wrapped the necklace around twice instead of leaving it long. The Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere was a good choice for the predicted wet weather and it's the perfect size for taking my notebook across the city for a meeting in another building. The gold mouse flats were a fun touch with the outfit - metallic gold goes with everything and they are always a talking point when meeting new people.
Last worn: black jersey blazer, blue beaded necklace, leaf print tank, black pencil skirt, gold mouse flats, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere.
Other ways to wear: black jersey blazer and jeans, leaf print tank worn two ways, black pencil skirt in winter, gold mouse flats worn 30 ways, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere and maxi skirt.
Perfect for pregnancy: black jersey blazer in third trimester, black pencil skirt in second trimester, gold mouse flats in third trimester, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere in second trimester.
What's In My Bag: Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere
What I wore:
Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Tank: thrifted Target mixed print colourful printed tank
Skirt: Atmos&Here grey marle jersey pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
Why I wore it:
Trying the suit-like look again with a grey jersey blazer and pencil skirt together. The casual fabric stops it from looking too formal for my business casual office. This printed tank is a fun one too and is was just $1 at the opshop, so with this fifth wear I'm really getting great value for money from it! With all the bright colours and mixed prints in the tank I kept the shoes a simple silver to tie in with the grey blazer and skirt, as well as the silver necklace. The Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere was an easy choice again for another meeting across the city.
Last worn: grey jersey blazer, silver circle necklace, mixed print tank, grey pencil skirt, metallic ballet flats, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere (above).
Other ways to wear: grey jersey blazer and sheath dress, mixed print tank and shorts, grey pencil skirt worn two ways, metallic ballet flats and pleated skirt, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: metallic ballet flats in third trimester, grey pencil skirt in third trimester, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere in third trimester.

It really is the easiest combo for the office isn't it? I use to dress like this all the time and so miss a great straight skirt suit. My hips seem to be fighting my desire to pull off this look lately! Happy Monday!

ReplyDeleteLove the print on both of your blouses! And the skirts looks so comfy. :)
ReplyDeleteI am totally digging the black and grey suit-like outfits:) There's nothing like a good blazer to make an outfit dressier IMO. And also like how you added the fun tanks to add a bit of flavour:) Looking lovely as always!
ReplyDeleteYes, adding the blazer is a great way to look more pulled together! :)
DeleteI love how you made the pseudo-suit with the gray blazer and skirt! Such great looks! Blazers really are the best. i wish I wore mine more often but since I don't go to an office anymore they usually feel too dressy (especially for the grocery store ;) )
ReplyDeletehttps://www.closet-fashionista.com
Seeing you with your blazers inspires me to wear mine more often! :)
DeleteSometimes I forget how versatile and how much interested a printed top can give. Such a nice polished office look with these and then they can also be worn casually.

I struggle to style my blazer for whatever reason. I have a navy one that I rarely wear though I love the look of blazer like you've paired up here today. I need to challenge myself to wear it more often and paired up with a skirt and printed top like you did is absolutely perfect and completely doable.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could give you an idea for how to wear it! :)
DeleteBoth outfits look great Mica, can't believe you got the tank top for $1.00 what a bargain! Have a wonderful week a head darling.

A blazer can make any outfit look dressy, so they are a wardrobe essential in my book. Both of your outfits are perfect for the office, without being too formal, but my favourite is the second one, as I'm loving the combination of the grey with the colourful top. Wishing you a wonderful week, Mica! xxx

I seldom wear blue Jean’s and explore for other options that can throw a statement. This was quite a professional look. Loved the second outfit a lot. The multi shaded top matched well with the contrast shades jacket and skirt. The bag is classy. Don’t you feel a plain black bag would have gone well with the second outfit.
ReplyDeleteIt would have, but I wanted something a little different :)
DeleteThanks all for your lovely comments - and for linking up!
ReplyDeleteClassy, stylish and a professional look. Your second outfit looks smart and the multi-shaded top goes well with the jacket and skirt. The bag looks elegant. Thanks so much for the link-up Mica!
