What I wore:
Necklace: Roie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
Tee: Cotton On The One fitted v tee in washed poolside blue (new purchase)
Shorts: thrifted Emerson white Bermuda shorts
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs waxed leather cream howlite beaded wrap bracelet
Bag: Chloe periwinkle small Paraty
Why I wore it:
This was a bit of a busy day! I regretted layering up with this kimono for the walk to school as it was a really hot day! After school drop off though we headed out to a bayside park to spend the morning and I much appreciated the cool breeze off the water, the heat and humidity was a little more bearable then! After my son's doctor appointment in the afternoon we ended up just playing at home in the aircon keeping cool.Although this pastel blue tee isn't quite the same shade as the Chloe Paraty bag I thought the two shades of blue worked well together, and I really like the green floral duster with them, such a nice layering piece even if it felt a bit too much for the hot morning. I liked the white Bermuda shorts with them too, a nice neutral to balance out all the colour, but the shorts did get a little dirty at the playground - need to remember there are not playground friendly shorts when your son has been running around in bark all day and accidentally kicks you as you push him on the swing, haha! Thankfully all the dirt came off in the washing machine!
Last worn: green floral kimono, pearl tassel necklace, pastel blue tee, white Bermuda shorts, wrap bracelet, white Converse Chucks, Chloe periwinkle Paraty bag.
Other ways to wear: green floral kimono and jeans, pastel blue tee and maxi skirt, white Bermuda shorts and embroidered tank, white Converse Chucks and striped dress, Chloe periwinkle Paraty bag and blue dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: white Converse Chucks in second trimester.
How To Adjust The Strap On The Chloe Paraty Bag:
What I wore:
Jacket: Jeanswest Melanie floral kimono
Necklace: Uniquely Made with Love Sea Change necklaceTee: Cotton On The One fitted v tee in washed summer mango
Shorts: Jeanswest Trinity Bermuda denim shorts
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bag: Chloe periwinkle small Paraty
Why I wore it:
Although there's no orange in the floral print of this navy duster, I thought the orange tee would go really nicely with it. I like the touch of colour this tee adds to an outfit. And unlike the day above, I appreciated the duster kimono on this day! It was a busy day, working from home after the school drop off and taking my son to an appointment in the afternoon. This colour combination with the tropical floral print and the orange tee was really colourful and cheerful and a nice mood booster for a busy day.Again I wore my Chloe periwinkle small Paraty bag, it's been a go-to bag lately as I love the colour and it's the right size for everything I need to carry day to day, including water bottles for us all. I just wore it on this day as again I needed something quick and easy to get dressed with, and it already had all my things inside it from the previous time I wore it!
Last worn: tropical floral print duster kimono, beaded necklace, orange v-neck tee, Bermuda denim shorts, Adidas Superstar, Chloe small Paraty (above).
Other ways to wear: tropical floral print duster kimono and dress, orange v-neck tee and stripes, Bermuda denim shorts and scarf, Adidas Superstar and midi dress, Chloe small Paraty and maxi.
Last worn: tropical floral print duster kimono, beaded necklace, orange v-neck tee, Bermuda denim shorts, Adidas Superstar, Chloe small Paraty (above).
Other ways to wear: tropical floral print duster kimono and dress, orange v-neck tee and stripes, Bermuda denim shorts and scarf, Adidas Superstar and midi dress, Chloe small Paraty and maxi.
How You Can Wear It:
Jeans and a tee is a staple outfit for mum life! To change it up a little you can try a bright tee and introduce more colour and print with a duster kimono like these floral ones.

ReplyDeleteWhite shorts can be so tricky but the thing is that they work well with a lot of outfits. The kimono being too hot to wear if the story of my life. They work so well but then can be inconveniently hot.
ReplyDeleteI hope your son's dong better now! Sending lots go hugs.
And your outfits are always soooo chic!

Hey Mica, I hope you had a fantastic weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you spice your looks with the kimonos, even if you regreted for a while you managed to get a really nice pictures for the OOTD post, anyway the fabric of the kimonos look really "light" and I bet they are a good option even for a summer day right?
The first outfit is my favorite for the combinations of colors!
Have a lovely week ahead!
Pablo
Hey Fungi
They are often good, but better if there is a breeze and it's not too humid!
DeleteMost of the time I am too hot to wear kimonos in the summer. Now is a good time as it is warm but not crazy hot and humid yet.

ReplyDeleteThe Paraty does look like such a great everyday bag, Mica:) The size is perfect and the colour does go well with anything! I love how you paired it with both outfits. And yay for kimonos..even when it's hot:D You are so brave for wearing white when with the kids!:P
ReplyDeletePS So jealous how you guys are managing over there. I always see on the news how New Zealand and Australia are almost back to normal, and I die a little bit inside...sigh....
We are really lucky here they put the hotel quarantine system in so people can't walk around with it when they bring it in from overseas! Not perfect but it lets life return to almost normal which I appreciate!
DeleteYou look so pretty Mica! These outfits are perfect for Spring!
ReplyDeleteOh amazing to see that it´s getting warmer and you can already wear shorts again :)

My favorite of the two is the second outfit - that orange is speaking to me. I've been looking for some shorts like this. I usually shop Ross, and it seems they haven't stocked their shorts here yet.

You have the most cutest collection of kimonos Mica. I love how it elevates a tshirt and shorts look. And I also didn't realize that there was no orange in your 2nd kimono but it looks great paired with the orange tee. I had forgotten that orange and navy is an absolute stunning color combo - thanks for the reminder! I hope you are having a great week so far and happy Tuesday!
