What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted magenta pink statement beaded necklace
Tank: Atmos & Here Oregon stripe tank
Skirt: thrifted navy viscose drawstring no label maxi skirt
Shoes: Wittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta
Why I wore it:
I like black and navy together - although I used to think that they were two colours you should never wear together, so silly! I liked the black and white stripes with the navy skirt but this outfit felt like it was missing a little colour, so I added the magenta Rebecca Minkoff Edie cross body bag and then went a little matchy-matchy with the magenta statement necklace. I haven't been wearing a lot of my statement necklaces recently, it's not my first choice in the summer heat, but I have been missing them so gave this one another wear. It's a pretty close match to the magenta of the Edie bag too!
Wore this for a normal busy mum day - helping out in my son's class in the morning, a trip to the library and the playground with my youngest, and sports in the evening after school pickup. There was a nice breeze so this maxi skirt with knee high slits was a good choice!
Last worn: black and white striped tank, magenta statement necklace, navy maxi skirt, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie bag.
Other ways to wear: black and white striped tank and blazer, navy maxi skirt and leopard print, studded sandals and little black dress, Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie bag and kimono.
Perfect for pregnancy: studded sandals in second trimester.

Rebecca Minkoff Edie and Love Bag Comparison
What I wore:
Tank: Jeanswest 'Josie' striped back strap tank
Skirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey
Why I wore it:
Surprisingly I hadn't worn this striped tank and ochre maxi skirt together before! Such a simple combination and a nice way to hit 30 wears with this tank! I recently posted all 30 ways I've worn this striped tank.
This was again a nice simple outfit for a busy day, with the school run and working from home. I felt my Rebecca Minkoff Love bag was due another wear so I got it out, even if it only went as far as between the car park and school and kindy!
I've worn this tortoiseshell tassel necklace with the ochre skirt before, I like the colour combination, and this necklace looks great with stripes too for a little extra print mix.
Last worn: white striped tank, tortoiseshell necklace, ochre maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff quilted Love bag.
Other ways to wear: white striped tank worn 30 ways, ochre maxi skirt and navy tee, Rebecca Minkoff quilted Love bag worn 30 ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: white striped tank in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff quilted Love bag in third trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
With a plain, block colour maxi skirt, a striped tank is a great pairing for a little extra interest with your outfit. Nice and cool for a hot summer day too!

I do love a good maxi skirt, I only got into them a year or so ago but now they're wardrobe staples. Love the navy one, that's a great thrift find!

I really like black and navy together as well. I think I always have. I remember wearing a navy printed maxi skirt with black boots and a black blazer over 20 years ago. It was one of my favorite outfits! I really like both of your outfits here. The pink bag is perfect with the black and navy. And the rust colored skirt is such a great color, too. It looks wonderful with stripes. I hope you have a lovely week ahead, my friend!

I am always drawn to that ochre skirt! I like how the tassel necklace picks up the color too. Yes, you can never have to many striped top. I told myself I won't get any this spring/summer but I do have my eye on one tee!

ReplyDeleteStriped tops make a wonderful pairing with maxi skirts. I like your navy and black version in the first outfit- I don't know why but I used to think that these two colours don't match. I don't think so anymore.

Yes it's funny how we all thought the same when we were younger!
DeleteMaxi skirt with the stripe t-shirts are perfect combo for the hot weather. Have a great week, Mica.
